“Then, go for it,” Elodie said, kissing her again.

When Madison put their six-month-old to bed, she turned around to see her wife leaning in the open doorway to the nursery.

“Hey,” Madison said softly. “She just went down.”

“I wanted to say goodnight,” Elodie replied.

“She was tired, babe. I’ll keep her up for you tomorrow night,” she said, pulling Elodie against her side as they looked at their sleeping daughter. “How was it?”

“My release was a little off, but I feel okay.”

“You probably practice too much.” Madison placed her head on Elodie’s shoulder.

“I definitely am if I’m missing putting her to sleep.” Elodie kissed Madison’s head and ran a hand along her daughter’s chubby cheek. “She looks so much like you, babe.”

“Really? I think she has your nose.”

  “What? That’s not–”

Madison laughed softly and said, “Come on. Let’s get some sleep. She’ll be up early tomorrow, as usual.”

“I’ll get her. You sleep in tomorrow,” Elodie said as they walked out of the room.

“You’re practicing with Marshall tomorrow morning.”

“I’ll cancel. You just said I was practicing too much.”

  “I was kidding,” Madison replied.

They walked into their bedroom. Madison turned on the baby monitor on the nightstand and looked over at Elodie, who was pulling off her shirt and pants.

“I think I’m going to take a bath. Is that okay? My muscles are sore. I’m probably too old to be trying this again.”

“I’ll run it for you,” Madison replied.

Elodie walked over to her, put her hands on Madison’s hips, and said, “You could run one for us.”

  “Oh, yeah?’

“You know how I love taking baths with you all pressed up against me.”

“I do, but you’re supposed to be relaxing those tired muscles,” Madison told her, running her hands through Elodie’s hair.

“I relax better with you around. You know that.”

Madison gave in. She went into the bathroom to run a bath, dropping some lavender-scented bubble bath into the tub before she turned around to see Elodie standing there, watching her.

“My parents called today,” she said as she stripped off her shirt.

  “Yeah? Everything okay?” Elodie asked.

She bent down to help Madison with her pants and underwear, pulling them off together and helping Madison kick them off all the way.

“They want us to come visit because they haven’t seen their only grandchild in over a month.”

“Well, they have two other kids. Tell Monica and Mark to have a few.”

Madison chuckled and said, “I want another one, El.”

“I know. So do I.” Elodie kissed her quickly before she leaned over to test the water temperature.

  “Soon.”

“How soon?” Elodie looked at her with those gorgeous eyes.

“Well, it took us three years to have her. I think we should start sooner rather than later if we’re going to have another one.”

“How about after I get through my first tournament, we go back to the doctor and talk about what to do?”

“You mean after you win your first tournament.”

“It’s the invitational. It’s not a big deal.” Elodie climbed into the tub.

“It’s your first one back. Of course, it’s a big deal.” Madison climbed in front of her.

“Maybe this is too much. We’ve both been there and done that, right? Why put ourselves through another cycle?”

“Because we both want it.” Madison leaned her back against her wife’s front.

“We want another kid, too, Maddie.”

“We can have it all, babe.”

“We can, huh?” Elodie kissed Madison’s shoulder.

“Yes, we can. We can have love.” She picked up Elodie’s hand and kissed the index finger. “We can have a family.” She kissed the second finger. “We can have hot, lusty sex.” She kissed the third finger. “And we can have more fancy gold medals to hang on the wall because we worked hard for them and deserve the right to display them.” She kissed Elodie’s pinky finger.

“It is nice looking at them when we walk into our room,” Elodie replied. “Thinking about everything we had to go through to get them.”

“And wouldn’t it be nice to add to that collection?”

  “Kids or medals?” Elodie teased.

  “Both,” Madison replied, chuckling.

“Tell your parents we’ll visit in a few weeks.”

  “We will?”

“Yes, and we can tell them that we plan to have another baby they can spoil since their other kids are slacking in that department.”

“We can?” Madison turned her head toward her wife.

“You warned me from day one that you wanted a gold medal, a wife, and kids. I knew what I was getting into.” She winked at Madison and then kissed her lips.

“Oh, please, you had no idea what you were getting into with me.”

“That’s true, baby. That is true.” Elodie kissed her again. “And I am so lucky I get to have all of you.”

  Sports Series Book #3

Mia Landis was so close to being an Olympian. Instead, she watched the Tokyo Olympics and her would-be-team from home with her one-year-old daughter. When Mia heard about a serious professional softball league starting up in the US, she thought it would be crazy to try out. After being convinced, though, she gave it a shot and ended up moving her entire life across the country.

Skylar Donahue lived for the game. Softball had been her entire world until an injury took away her shot to play in the Olympics. She resigned herself to coaching until she heard about a new league starting up. When she made the local team, she had no idea that a new woman in town would completely change her entire world.

Both women dreamed of representing their country in the Olympics. Neither of them thought their lives would take the turn they’d taken. But if they can see past what they thought their lives would be, and look at where they ended up, they might find a whole new dream; one that could last a lifetime.
