Shooting Blindly in the Dark Page 29

by Nicole Jackson

Black Reign had lost her fuckin’ mind. The stereo system was blasting, “Ion got no type. Bad bitches is the only thing that I like. You aint got no life. Cups with the ice. And we do this every night…” My baby was dancing in a little two piece bathing suit, and her dumb ass mama was standing on top of the counter, twerking.

Black Reign was gyrating all over the place in a black two piece bathing suit. She had a cup in her hand, while she shook her head side to side, whipping her hair. She was rocking to the beat, acting like she was in some rap video.

“Get it sis!” Ryah shouted, encouraging the bullshit.

“Bad bitches is the only thing that I like!” Black Reign slurred, obviously drunk. “Hold my drink,” she handed her cup to some random nigga. And without warning she dropped down into a split, and bounced her ass.

“Get yo stupid ass down!” I roared, causing her to flinch. “Right muthafuckin’ now!” I fumed, as I snatched her ass down.

  “Kaydoa, calm down,” Ryah pleaded.

“Get the fuck away from me,” I gritted.

I pushed Black Reign away from me. “All you bitches get the fuck out my house!”

“Uh, yall aint gotta go nowhere!” she waved me off.

Wit my lips curled, I reached for my pistol that was tucked at the back of my jeans. I whipped it out, and aimed it at all the strangers, hanging in my house. “Like I said, get the fuck out!”

Everybody scattered like some roaches, including Ryah. “What the fuck is wrong wit you?!” I barked at Black Reign.

“You don’t fuckin’ run me!” she belted, getting all in my face.

I shoved her back, as she struggled to keep her balance. Kaylah wailed at the top of her lungs. “This is the shit you subject ya daughter to?! Huh?!”

“She was good. Wasn’t nobody fucking with her!” she clapped her hands dramatically.

“Are you serious?!” I raged, as I glanced around the room. Beer bottles, cans, and blunt wrappers littered the counters. Wit fury I took my arm and swiped all that shit to the floor. “You got her around all this bullshit. Muthafuckas you barely know running through this bitch, around my fuckin’ daughter! Bitch, you lost ya fuckin’ mind!”

“Fuck you!” she lost it, as she swung wildly, catching me in the mouth. Without thinking, I gripped her neck, and rammed her into the nearest wall, creating a huge hole around her.

“Bitch, I’ll kill yo dumb ass!” I fumed.

“Get off me!” she flailed her arms, before I released her.

My chest was heaving up and down, as I attempted to calm down. I knew how I could be, and that wasn’t for me and her. Regardless, she was my daughter’s mama, so I had to remove myself from the situation, before shit became deadly. So, I snatched Kaylah up, and headed to the door.

“Give me my baby!” Black Reign screamed, as she pulled my shirt.

Using my free hand, I shoved her to the floor. “Keep ya muthafuckin’ hands off me! Say good-bye to my daughter. Cause it’s gonna be a minute before you see her again, bitch!” and wit that I stormed out of the house, and hopped into my car. Of course, Black Reign came screaming for me to give her Kaylah, but she was too little too late, as I backed away, and skirted down the street.

  Black Reign

“Damn bitch, slow down,” I cut my eyes at Dookey Baby. I was sitting next to her on a couch, watching her snort line after line.

It had been a while since I’d kicked it with my old friend. We’d always been in contact, but I just didn’t hang with her like that. The way she got down was a bit of a turn off, so I’d kept my distance. But since my blow up with Kaydoa I had to get away. I felt like a prisoner in my own home. He wanted to dictate what I could and couldn’t do, and wasn’t allowing me to see my child. So, one day I just drove away from the crib, and had yet to return. It had been weeks, and I was just in the streets, doing me.

Dookey Baby’s apartment had become my hangout spot, because she lived way out on the south side, and nobody from the hood knew where she stayed. And she was into some heavy drugs herself, so I didn’t have to worry about her judging me. She liked to party, and that was right up my alley. She was fucking with a few low-level hustlers to pay her bills, but that was her business. What really had me cool with kicking it with her was her girl, Jazel. She was the pretty glamourous chick that Dookey Baby had met while clubbing.

Jazel had smooth chocolate skin, long cold black hair, high cheek bones, Egyptian shaped eyes, and a body out of this world. She was like a size fourteen, but most of that was ass. She was real loud and rowdy, and could dress her ass off. She practically lived in Saks, but had never worked a day in her young life. She was a booster, and loved to smoke a sherm or two in her spare time. I saw plenty of myself in her, and I guess that’s how we sort of clicked, instantly. Honestly, we’d been stuck together like glue, and Dookey Baby didn’t seem too thrilled about it. But that was her problem.

“Let me do this. You just smoke that shit, and leave this to the big girls,” Dookey Baby snorted, as she sucked up another line of coke.

“Here,” Jazel handed me the freshly dipped cig.

I took a few slow drags, allowing myself to fully enjoy the effects of the drugs. Soon, I was stuck.

Dookey Baby kept random niggas in and out of her crib, so it wasn’t long before she had a few niggas over that she’d met at the club. The dude who was supposed to be hollering at her named Rock was all in my face. I wasn’t hearing that nigga. I was trying to get high and zone out.

“Why yo pretty ass smoking this shit?” he asked, as he sat right next to me.

I shrugged, as I continued to get high right in front of those niggas. They didn’t know me, I didn’t know them, and frankly I didn’t give a fuck what they thought about me.

“You need to let me take you out, and show you some real shit,” he continued. “That’s ya problem. You aint got a real nigga like me in ya life.”

  “Really, Rock?” Dookey Baby fumed.

“What?” he opened his arms. “What’s the problem? Shit, you let the homies get a sample. I’m trying to see what ya girl talking about. She sexy than a muthafucka,” he stated bluntly.

I waved my head, “It aint that type of party.”

He smiled, “And that’s why I want cha even more. A nigga aint just trying to fuck. You bad than a muthafucka. With this long pretty hair, beautiful face, and we aint even gonna get started on this body. You’s the type of bitch I’d give me last to.”

“Nigga, my girl aint fucking with you. You came over here for D. Baby,” Jazel spoke up. “Yall done obviously fucked, and we aint fucking behind friends. You need to go’on with that bullshit.”

He shook his head with a grin. “The baddest muthafuckas are always the meanest.”

“So, it’s like that?” Dookey Baby threw her hands on her hips.

Rock stood up, and gripped her waist. “You know I was just fucking with them. Come back here and let me feel that mouth.”

Like a dumb ass, Dookey Baby led that nigga to her bedroom, and commenced to loudly fucking him. She was screaming loud as hell, while his boys sat around chuckling. Man, that broad was a duck, and I was embarrassed to call her my friend. The hood should disown her ass, because she was a disgrace. Wasn’t shit cute about her fucking all these niggas that didn’t have a ounce of respect for her.

“Why yall so mean?” one of Rock’s nameless boys questioned.

“Cause,” Jazel spoke up. I was cool with that, because I had no interest in holding a conversation with those dudes. “Me and my bitch don’t get down like that. We used to some big balling ass niggas,” she boasted. I was gonna let her have that one, because that shit sounded silly to me. Fuck bragging on the next man, and what he had. I always hated when broads did that, but she was still my girl.

“Balling?” Ole boy repeated. “Yeah, right.”

“That’s real talk. See, my big brother is a get money type of nigga. Got houses sitting on lakes and shit. So, I aint impressed by these bullshi
t ass niggas out here,” she carried on.

I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes. Her ass was always going on and on about this so-called brother of hers. Personally, I had never seen the nigga a day in my life, but she swore up and down that her brother was this big nigga in the dope game. He had all these cars, and houses. And he had bitches all over, and they went crazy over his ass. Blah. Blah. Blah. My BD had seen a mil in his lifetime, so I wasn’t moved by her stories. If they were even true. I knew all too well how people could lie or exaggerate.

“Lil’ mama why you so quiet?” the dude asked me.

I shrugged. “I aint got shit to say.”

Just then my cell vibrated on the coffee table. Picking it up, I realized that Boo was calling. I let the call go to voicemail, because I didn’t feel like talking to him. He was still trying to talk about a relationship, but I wasn’t hearing that shit. Honestly, the higher I got the more he resembled a snake to me. He would just sit there, watching me get high, and grin at me with a sadistic grin on his face. It was like he enjoyed seeing me get high. Almost like he wanted to see me fall. I might’ve had my issues, but I was no dummy. I could feel it in the air. Bitch niggas wanted to see me fall off, and me getting high would hopefully lead to my demise. According to the haters, of course. I was just fucking with sherms for the time being. I was gonna kick the shit in a minute. I just needed to get my head right, and then I’d bounce back. Hopefully.

  Chapter 26

  Kaydoa

“It had never happened before,” Toke explained.

I grimaced, as I listened to that nigga tell me this story about how somebody had broken into one of the spots, and stolen the work.

“But that was yo spot, so you know that you gotta eat the cost,” I let him know.

  “I know,” he nodded.

“Then yall niggas need to tighten up around there. We done been the fuckin’ predators for far too long to now become the damn prey,” I preached. “I mean, what the fuck is yall niggas doing?”

Toke frowned. “My nigga, I’m doing the same shit you doing. Shit, happens. Don’t act like you aint never been caught slipping.”

I waved my head. “Nigga, you got me fucked up!” I hopped up, and charged at him.

“Kaydoa!” Lil’ Hurt grabbed me. “Chill out, main!”

  “Nigga, I’m chilling!” I shouted.

He waved his head vehemently, “Nah, you aint calm. Chill. Real talk. That man aint done shit to you.”

I breathed, “Alright, let me go.”

  He released me.

My chest heaved up and down, as both Toke and Hurt looked at me like I was crazy.

“Dog, you tripping,” Toke waved his head. “What triggered all this?”

“This aint got nothing to do with you,” Hurt answered. “Our boy still on that Black Reign trip.”

  “What?” I scrounged.

“Yeah,” Hurt nodded. “Nigga, you heard me. You been going off on everybody lately. The smallest shit will set you off. You mad at Black Reign and taking your frustrations out on everybody else. If it’s that crucial just go holler at her, cause this shit need to stop.”

I waved him off. “You got me fucked up.”

He furrowed his brows. “You and me both aint believing that shit. You mad at the fuckin’ world. If going back to Black Reign is what makes you happy, then do that shit. And if it don’t, it don’t. But you need to deal with whatever issues you got.”

I sucked my teeth. “Fuck what you talkin’ about,” I waved him off, and focused on Toke. “But that’s my bad, my nigga. I was out of line,” I apologized.

  He nodded. “It’s cool.”

Just then Monay barged into the house. I knew something was up from the look on her face. “Kaydoa, you seen this bullshit?” she asked as she approached me wit her phone out.

  “What?”

“Here,” she handed me her phone. “Look at this shit.”

I pressed play on the video. “Look at these hoes,” I heard a familiar voice say, as they filmed Black Reign and some fine ass dark brown chick.

“Who is that talking?” I asked Monay.

She pursed her lips. “Dookey Baby’s trashy ass.”

I nodded, as I focused back on the video. A frown covered my face, as I watched Black Reign dip a cigarette into a small bottle. When she pulled the cigarette out of the liquid I didn’t have to guess what was in the bottle. That was fuckin’ wet.

My mind was blown, as I watched Kaylah’s mama light up the cigarette, and take a puff. She smoked for several long seconds, before passing it to the other chick in the video. Ole girl took long drags, as Black Reign eased off the couch they were sitting on. That’s when I realized that she was wearing nothing but her bra and panties. And on her feet were some knee high socks.

Her being half naked, getting high on the internet was enough to be embarrassed about, but that shit wasn’t the half. The higher they got the more bazar Black Reign’s behavior became. She started dancing all in the video, wobbling that huge ass of hers. The way she was acting, it was clear that she wasn’t in her right mind. I don’t even think she was aware that she was being filmed, and I think the other girl was oblivious to the fact too.

They were both, tripping, humping throw pillows and shit. Spanking each other’s asses. And then Black Reign just strips down to nothing, and places her panties on her head. “You smell that, girl?” she asked ole girl in the video wit her.

“Smell what?” the girl giggled uncontrollably.

“The smell of sweet pussy,” Black Reign wagged her tongue.

Then for a few seconds she disappeared out of the camera’s view, and when she reappeared she was riding on a bike, completely naked, wit her panties still on her head. “I’ll be back. I’m about to run up the street,” she slurred.

“Bitch, sit yo high ass down. You aint going outside like that. They gon evict my ass,” Dookey Baby giggled, before ending the recording.

I stood there momentarily stunned. I know that my eyes had just seen that shit, but my heart and mind was having trouble digesting that. That wasn’t the Black Reign I knew. She wouldn’t go out like that. What the fuck was going through her mind?

I don’t know what made me decide that I wanted to see what people had to say, but I did. There was comment after comment of niggas talking about what a waste of two fine ass broads. Some niggas were actually on the thread talking about the bitch on the bike was so fine that they’d take her, wet head and all. And then there were a few people from the hood that were actually cussing Dookey Baby out, demanding that she take the video down.

Monkey had actually commented on it, and wrote, “My girl gotta be going through something, because that aint even her. Black Reign, you better than that. Don’t let these hating ass hoes win. Dookey Baby, bitch, you outta line. With ya hating ass. I hope my girl beat the brakes off ya ass when she sobers up. I told her to keep them snakes out the grass.”

“Here,” my hands shook, as I handed Monay her phone back. “I…I…I gotta go,” I barely got out, as he stomped out of the trap house.

“Kaydoa!” Monay called my name, but I kept going. I had to get the fuck away.

Hopping into my car, I never looked their way, as I backed out of the yard. My heart was racing, as I headed to Kaylah’s daycare to pick her up. I’d been busy, and had promised to take her to get some ice cream that day. Farrah claimed that she’d been a little more whiny than usual, and I was trying to get to the bottom of it. At that moment I needed something to distract me from my thoughts, and I figured that my baby girl would be the perfect source.

“You ready for that ice cream?” I asked her, as I strapped into her seat, after picking her up.

She simply nodded, which threw me off. My baby was usually so vibrant and full of life.

  “What’s wrong, mama?” I probed.

She waved her head, as she gazed down at her thighs.

“You sure?” I furrowed my brows.

  She nodded. Waving
my head, I closed her door, before hopping into the driver’s seat. I increased the volume of the music, as I backed out of the parking lot. I continued to check Kaylah out in my rearview mirror. She still had this sad look on her face.

“Baby, tell daddy what’s wrong,” I insisted. My baby wasn’t the average little girl. She was approaching three years old, but had the mind of a much older child, so she definitely knew how to express herself.

Kaylah poked out her bottom lip. “I want my mama.”

  I scrounged. “Who? Mama Farrah?”

She waved her head. “Nooo. I want my mama, daddy. You know. Jasmine.”

I swallowed hard, as I nodded. “Okay. Well, daddy is gonna have to go get her.” I told my baby, as I realized what I was gonna have to do.

  Black Reign

“Bitch, look at this shit,” Jazel handed me her cell.

I eyed the video she wanted me to watch, and felt sick to my stomach. I knew that we’d been wilding for the past few weeks, but this dirty hoe Dookey Baby had straight blasted our asses. My jaw dropped, as I watched myself parade around naked, tripping. I didn’t even remember doing any of that shit.

Seeing myself like that was embarrassing as hell. I’d been getting fucked up every day, and the only time I’d be remotely sober is when I’d first wake up for the day. So, that was my first time ever seeing exactly how I acted while high. I was way out there somewhere. I’d just told myself the night before that I was gonna stop smoking sherms. Cause the nigga we usually copped from had got knocked, and we couldn’t find anybody on Dookey Baby’s side of town, so we ended up in the Ward. I knew that Kaydoa had a trap that served wet, therefore I sent Dookey Baby to cop it from them. Looking back on it, there was no telling what she’d told them niggas when she went in that house. It was clear to see that the bitch was on some passive aggressive shit, and there was no telling what she’d told people about me.
