Spring's Destiny
Page 7
As I snuggle down into the blankets, there are just too many things on my mind. Tanner scoots up next to my chest and goes back to sleep. Putting my arm around him, I start to relax.
Looking around, I don’t know where I am. There’re trees and waterfalls. Seeing something up in the sky, I take my hand to shade my eyes trying to get a better look. As it comes into focus, I see that it’s an Angel. Taking a few steps back, he lands right in front of me. Looking at him, I can’t believe what I’m seeing. He’s tall, long black hair, and piercing ice-blue eyes. His shoulders are broad and his waist thinner. His wings are huge and white with blue on the tips. His hands are enormous, and the sword buckled at his hip is the same. Looking at his eyes, he’s doing the same as me—checking me out. He wears no expression on his face, so I can’t tell what he’s thinking.
“What do you want?” I ask him. Standing straight, I’m not going to show fear to this giant of a man
“I came to see you, Spring,” he says, taking a few steps closer, but I hold my ground.
“Why?”
“I wanted to see what it is about all the hype. I wonder who they made for me.”
“You’re extremely cocky, aren’t you?” I fume. Slowly, he grins, nodding his head.
“You are a Queen; I didn’t believe them, take your clothes off, Spring.” Looking him up and down, I start laughing.
“Why don’t you go jump in a lake, asshole?” I hiss. The look of shock passes across his face. But he covers it quickly; now the look is anger. Holding my ground, he storms up to me grabbing me by the neck. He doesn’t squeeze but holds firmly.
“You will not talk to me that way; do you know who I am? You should fear me …”
“Don’t you ever talk to me like that,” I sneer. “You are nothing to me. And by the way, get your damn hand off me,” I say. Bringing my knee up, I hit him in the balls. He lets go of my throat, and this is my chance. I smacked him across the face and ran. Looking around, I don’t know where to go. Looking at the trees, I head for them hoping that I can find some cover. Making it there, I duck behind a huge bush. I see him in the air. Oh, please wake up, wake up, Mick, where are you?
“He will pay for coming to you, Spring, I’m coming for you.”
###
“Wake up, Spring, come on,” Mick says.
I feel someone shaking me. Opening my eyes, I see Mick sitting on the edge of the bed. Sitting straight up, I look around. Looking at him, I see him staring at my chest. Grabbing the blanket, I pull it up, blushing I look down, I see something blue on my side, my stomach starts to hurt as well.
“Spring, let me see it, please,” he murmurs gently to me. Still breathing hard from my dream, I shake my head, pulling the covers up tighter to myself. Mick runs his hands through his hair.
“Spring, I can’t help you if you don’t let me,” he says.
“Now you want to help me? Last night you didn’t want to be near me, remember?” I snap. Screw him. Throwing the blankets back, I stand up. Mick’s mouth drops open, looking down I already know I’m naked, but I was unprepared for the huge, intricate tattoo on my ribs. Taking my hands, I trace the pattern; it starts on the side of my breast with swirling lines making their way down my ribs continuing down and wraps around my hip. It’s the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I meet Mick’s eyes. Walking over to me, he gets on one knee and bows his head.
“My Queen.” He raises his hand to his neck taking the knife and making a small cut. I watch the blood start running down from the wound to his bare chest. My stomach tightens, and my mouth starts watering.
“Mick?” Looking at him closer, I see that he’s shaking.
“My Queen, I am honored, and you need to feed,” he says. Something is pulling me to him, sauntering to him, my hips swaying as I go. Standing before him, I run my hand through his hair; his face placed near my stomach, I can feel his hot breath on me.
“Please, Spring,” he begs.
Dropping to my knees, I look into his eyes. He gently wraps his hand around my head pulling me into him; our bodies are pressed firmly together. “Please.” As I turn my head, my lips are on his neck right above the cut. Shyly, I take the tip and run it down the cut; I feel him shiver, his arms tighten around me like he doesn’t want to let me go.
Licking him, he moans, shifting, I can feel his hard dick pressed against my stomach. Opening my mouth, I gently start to suck, pulling the blood into my mouth. I thought it would make me sick, but it does the opposite. I want more; I want him inside me. Sucking harder, Mick wraps his other arm around me picking me up as he stands. I don’t stop sucking until he gently lays me on the bed. Feeling all his weight on top of me, I give his neck one last lick. My eyes make their way to his, sucking in a big gulp of air I can’t believe what I see. Pure raw desire, mixed with love. How can that be?
“Mick, why did you come up here tonight?” I ask him, moving closer to cuddle up on the side of him.
“You needed my help, Spring; I had to come, what was going on in your dream?”
“I was by the waterfall and met an archangel, he was an asshole,” I say. I feel Mick tense up.
“Spring, may I go into your mind and see for myself, I promise that’s all I will look at and never without your permission.”
Nodding, I watch as he takes my head into his hands and closes his eyes. After about ten minutes, he lets go.
“Oh, Spring, did you have to call him an asshole and then knee him?”
“He was a dick, Mick. Who was he?”
“Oh, that was just Michelle, the head off all the angels and the fallen. He’s going to be pissed, Spring, watch yourself. And he heard you call to me, that’s not going to go over well.”
“What do you mean?” I sit up looking at him. I didn’t mean to cause trouble for him.
“It’s nothing. It’s OK. Why don’t we try and get a couple of hours of sleep?”
Mick moves to lie down and adjusts me to the side of him so that my head is on his chest. He runs his hand up and down my back.
“Thanks for coming, Mick.”
Chapter 11
Stretching, I lift my head—Mick isn’t in here. Flopping back down, I listen to the birds outside. Feeling a light breeze, I sit up. Looking over at the doors, they are open.
Tanner isn't in bed; Mick must have him. Lifting the cover off me, I swing my legs to the side sitting up. Looking down at the tattoo, I can’t believe this is all happening. I know it is because like my mom said I could remember things that I shouldn’t even know. It is amazing. It’s not tender anymore. I need to ask Mick why I have it and what it means.
Getting into the shower, I can’t believe all that has happened it’s almost like a dream. But at the same time, I know what I need do. I have to start training. Finishing up, I get out of the shower and wrap up in two towels. Drying off, I get dressed. The jeans fit me like a glove and lay low on my hips. After putting my shirt on, you can see part of my tattoo, if you look closely enough, you can see almost all of it. My t-shirt is so thin you can make out my bra as well. Unwrapping my hair, I brush it out and blow dry it, leaving it down I put some makeup on and head out to put my socks on.
As I look at the bed, there is blood all over the sheets. Shaking my head, I toss all the pillows off and strip the bed. Grabbing a fresh set, I go about making the bed. I pick up the soiled ones and put them in the basket. Grabbing it, I open the door and head out. Walking down the hall, I can hear raised voices. Not stopping, I walk down the stairs looking around the great room, but no one is in here. They must be in the kitchen. Great, I have to go through there to get to the laundry room. Squaring my shoulders, I walk in, and all the talking stops at once, and all eyes are on me. As I glance around, two huge men plus Mick are staring at me. Their names flash in my mind and what kind of men they are. Nick and Sammy. Hmm, walking past them, I stop dead in my tracks. Turning slightly over my shoulder.
“Quit checking out my ass, Nick,” I say, walking the rest of the way into the laund
ry room.
“What the hell, how did she see me checking out her ass?” Nick asks. Hearing someone laugh, I know it was Mick.
“Told you, Nick, she’s special and very powerful. She will have to figure out who will be her mate,” Mick says but stops. Shutting the lid of the washer, I walk back into the kitchen. Walking over to him, I lean next to him crossing my arms across my chest to keep prying eyes off my breasts.
“Who am I going to be mated to, Mick?” I ask. He gently puts his arm around me resting his hand on my hip.
“I don’t think it’s—”
Stopping him with just a look, I snap, “What the hell, I think I have a right to know, I mean I’m going to be fucking him for the rest of my life, oh wait I mean for forever.”
“Michelle, Spring, you will be mated to Michelle,” he says, running his hands through his hair. “I honestly didn’t think it would be him. He’s the most powerful archangel. I’m sorry, Spring.” Pushing away from him, now I’m pissed. I see the other two taking a few steps back from me.
“You mean that asshole that was in my dreams last night? No, hell no, He’s the most heinous guy I have ever met. Ugh.” Walking over to the doors, I head outside, walking over to the pool, I sit down at the little table. I hear the guys talking inside. Hearing steps behind me, I stiffen up.
“Hey, it’s just me, Spring,” Mick murmurs. Looking over at him, I just smile. “I’m not mating Michelle, Mick.” Hearing a throat clear, we break apart.
Seeing a cup of coffee on the table, I ask Nick, “For me?” Smiling, he nods. Sitting on the other side of us, he takes a drink of his own.
“So, are you two bonded?” he asks, looking over at us over the rim of his coffee.
“No, we’re not,” Mick says simply. He runs his hands over my back, arching because it hurts a bit. I feel him stiffen up. The pain in my back immensely intensifies. Standing, I start to pace. Mick rises, looking over at him I fall to my knees with one hand on the concrete, breathing hard.
“What the hell is wrong with my back?” I stammer. Hearing Sammy coming out the door the others rush over bending down.
“Don’t touch me!” I cry out. Panting, I try to catch my breath.
“Spring, I’ll be gentle we need to see what’s going on,” Nick says softly. Nodding, I let my head hang. Both hands are on the ground now. Nick gently lifts my t-shirt all the way up. Mick hisses making me jerk my head up searching his eyes. He shakes his head and doesn’t say anything. Letting out a scream, I arch my back. Gritting my teeth, I try to get through the pain and the burning.
“What the hell is going on?” I yell. Sammy puts a cold, soaked, towel on my back. Letting out the breath, I’ve been holding the pain eases up.
“You are getting wings, Spring. The tattoo is the first to show up, and they burn like hell. Once they are fully on your back it will stop hurting; then you have a few weeks before they actually come,” Nick says, he gently moves my hair out of my face.
Looking at Mick, he gives me a sad smile. “You’ll get through this, it’s almost over,” Mick says.
“Why am I getting wings? I don’t remember reading about them. And should it hurt this bad?” I pant out.
“Because there is no doubt that you are destined to be Michael’s mate, and It says that Michelle’s true mate will get wings. Parallel to him, you will be his equal in all things. Spring, believe me, you could be true mates with much worse,” Nick says.
The pain lessens so that I can sit up. “I don’t want to hear any more about that dick.” I grit out. Glancing around, I notice Sammy holding back a laugh. He sees me looking at him, and starts laughing as he is not able to hold it in. Standing up I take a couple of steps to him, he stops laughing but doesn’t back down.
“Why do you think that’s so funny?” I ask him. Pushing him into his chest, he takes a small step back; his eyes are big with shock.
“You are right, Mick, she’s strong,” he says, smirking. “I can still take you though.” He laughs. Shaking from anger, I grab his arm with my hand letting the power fill me up; I feel it move down my arm and into him. He flies six feet back and crashes into chairs and falls on the ground.
He jumps up and makes his way to me. I hear Nick tell Mick no, let’s see what happens. Shaking my head, I crouch and make ready to fight, Sammy doesn’t stop and plows right into me, knocking us both down. He throws his weight in and is on top of me faster than I can blink. Struggling, I push on his hard chest. It’s like trying to move a moose. He grabs my hands and pins them above my head. I try to move, but it’s useless. He runs his hand up my tattoo, shivering I look up into his eyes. They are completely black.
“Don’t make me hurt you, Sammy.”
I feel him laugh, as his weight comes down on top of me. I let my power start to build-up.
“Please, you are a woman, what can you possibly do?”
“I’m going to ask you one more time, to get the hell off me.”
He doesn’t move and gets a cocky grin on his face.
“Sammy, I wouldn’t if I were you,” Mick warns.
I don’t have my hands free to touch him, but there are different ways. I Relax into him, and I feel him start to relax too. Looking him in the eyes, lick my lips, his eyes dart to my mouth. He brings his lips down to mine. The kiss is gentle at first. Breaking away, I grin.
“Got ya,” I whisper.
Reaching up, I grab his hair and press our lips together. My power flows from my lips into his. I watch as his eyes go huge. His body starts to shake in pain.
Twisting, I straddle him with my fist raised. And one hand around his throat. I can’t believe I just did that. He’s enormous, and I shouldn’t be able to. He lays there seeing what I’m going to do. Slowly standing up, I keep my foot against his throat.
“Don’t ever come at me again, or I will kill you,” I growl, looking over my shoulder at the other two. I could almost laugh at the look of shock on their faces. Having enough of all this, I walk back to the house slamming the door behind me. Going to the fridge, I grab the stuff to make lunch. I’m starving, and I don’t think it’s only for food. Hearing yipping, I look down, Tanner is jumping at my legs. Sliding to the ground, I let him climb up on my lap. He licks my face and snuggles against me.
“Hey, boy, we have house guests. But I think you already know that” I say, laughing. I can feel what he does and that he will die to protect me. Giving him a big kiss on the nose, I get up and get him some puppy food.
Pulling out the bread, I start to make the sandwiches. “What do you want, Nick?” I say, not even turning around. I feel him come up behind me standing close. My heart flutters and my stomach clenches. I’m attracted to him. Biting my lip, I turn around, and I’m standing so close that I can feel the heat off him.
“You need to train, after lunch you and I will go train for a few hours,” he says grabbing a piece of my hair and putting it, behind my shoulder.
“Why you?” I asked, handing him a plate. Taking it, he goes over to the other side of the island and sits down.
“Because it’s what I do best, among other things,” he says while his eyebrows wiggle up and down.
Rolling my eyes, I watch the other two walk into the kitchen. Mick walks past me running his fingers across the bare skin on my back, he grabs drinks and passes them out. Everyone sits down and eats; no one is talking. So, I take this chance to look at these guys. They all could be models for underwear. Laughing to myself, I notice them all looking at me funny.
“Sorry was just thinking about something,” I say with a smile on my face. They start talking to each other, so I get up and walk to the great room. Sitting on the couch, I pull my legs up resting my chin on my knees. Mick comes walking in and sits next to me. Looking over at him, I can tell he wants or needs to tell me something.
“What is it, Mick?” I ask.
“What I’m going to tell you might be hard to hear Spring. You know we talked about the bonding, right?”
“Yes, last
night,” I murmur.
“Well, you will feel just as strongly with the other guys, and that’s how it should be. Go with your feelings not so much with your brain. You will want to be with them, and I’m fine with it. We knew while we were young that this is how it is. No one will get mad, and it doesn’t mean you’re less of a person for wanting all of us,” he says softly.
“Are you saying that you don’t care if I sleep with them too?
“Spring, anyone that bonds with you will sleep with you, I don’t know a man here that wouldn’t want to. Spring, we will share you, all make love to you and sometimes together.”
Hearing someone clear their throat, Mick breaks the kiss.
“You ready for her, Nick?”
“Yep, I’ll meet you outside, Spring,” he says, turning walking out the door. Looking up at Mick, he slowly gets up pulling me with him. Standing, I wrap my arms around his waist. Leaning my head on his chest, he rubs his hands up and down my back.
“Have fun, see you soon, Spring,” he says kissing me on the head. Watching him walk out of the house going to talk to the other guys, I wonder why he said that. I wonder why I don’t need to bond with him.
Chapter 12
“You ready to go Spring?” Nick asks. I don’t see the others.
“Yep, where are we going?” I ask him. I watch as he arches his back a little, and two black wings come out. As I step back, my eyes go huge. He reaches out his hand for me to grasp it.
“Come on; it will be fun. I promise you will be safe.”
“What! We’re going to fly to where we are going?” I ask nervously. In two steps, he’s right in front of me making me stare at his substantial bare chest. Feeling a tingle low in my stomach, I reach out and put my hand in his when I want to run them down his chest. Damn, what’s wrong with me acting like this?
