  Chapter 20

Mark and Necole sat on the balcony of their suite watching the sunset. She’d been on a few vacations, but had never seen anything so beautiful. She couldn’t stop taking pictures of the scenery. She wanted the experience on film to share with everyone she knew.

She closed her eyes as the wind softly blew through her hair and she inhaled the fresh air. “Umm, I love this.”

Mark was leaning back in his seat smoking a blunt while watching her. He was still a little tight about the fight on the beach earlier. He didn’t know what to think, but he wasn’t trying to spend the rest of the trip arguing.

Necole stood up and leaned against the balcony’s rail. Her long, white strapless dress was almost transparent, so he could see her nipples.

“Are you still mad at me?” she asked.

He hit the blunt before shrugging while blowing smoke out of his nose. Their eyes locked. “You pissed me off. That shit you pulled wasn’t cool.”

She put on her sad puppy dog face. “Babe, I promise that I wasn’t trying to disrespect you. I really thought that he could help me get my feet in the door. A few people have been telling me to try a little modeling. I didn’t think that it would be that big of a deal.”

“It wouldn’t have been if you had just spoken to the nigga and kept it moving. I mean, if you want to try the modeling thing, we can find you an agent. I know some people that know some people. My boy is a video producer and he also does ads for a few clothing lines. He can hook you up. I just don’t want you asking or taking something from another man. If you need anything, come to me. And if I ain’t got it, we’ll find a way to get it. I don’t like other muthafuckas in my mix. Me and you…we’re one. Ain’t no outsiders in this. Nobody. As long as we’re down for each other, no weapons formed against us shall prosper.”

“Well, I apologize again, baby. Now, how do you suppose that I make it up to you?” she asked seductively.

His eyes wandered up and down her body. “I don’t know. You tell me.”

“I know how,” she slowly eased the top of her dress down revealing her perky breasts. Since she’d become pregnant again, her nipples had grown rounder which he loved.

He hit the blunt with a grin, never uttering a word.

She let the dress fall to the ground. The only thing she wore was a white thong. She took a few seconds to pose for him, loving the desire that burned in his eyes. She strutted over to him before straddling him. She seductively eased the blunt from his lips and placed it in the ashtray. He puckered up and she kissed his lips. He pushed her hair out of her face while gripping her ass.

She rolled her hips into him, rubbing her wetness all over his shorts. She leaned her head back as he lowered his head and took a nipple into his mouth.

  “Uh,” she let out.

“Umm,” he moaned as he licked her swollen melons. He then lifted her off his lap. “Fuck that,” he breathed heavily as he pulled her soaked thong down. She stepped out of it before he pulled her in by the waist. He placed one of her legs on the chair he was sitting in. He was now face to face with her pussy. He used his fingers to open her second pair of lips. Her clit looked quite appetizing as he slithered his tongue around it before wrapping his lips around her bud.

“Oh, God,” her eyes rolled into the back of her head as she gripped his head.

He continued to work his tongue, taking her to paradise. Her knees were weak as her body trembled. The orgasm he gave her was damn near earth shattering.

Hours later, they were in the king sized bed working up a sweat. The stereo was blaring, Believe me, I’m yours forever. Complete me, I’m down for whatever. You changed me. I’m not wilding out like I used to. I don’t do things I used to no more. I changed for you. Looking back, I thought I would never love like this, broken so many hearts before. I changed for you.

Necole was on top riding him. She loved that position and so did he. She was a true urban cowgirl. She slowly bounced up and down as he gripped both tits. She grabbed his hand and placed his index finger in her mouth.

The pussy was feeling so good that Mark had to stop himself from crying out like a little bitch. She was working her magic on him. Yeah, he had enjoyed the trip, but what he’d always remember was how exuberant the pussy was that night.

“Say, when you plan on hitting the new vic, dog?”

“In about a week,” Loon said as they all passed around a sherm stick. They were all posted up at his baby mama’s spot in Haverstock Hills; the largest projects in Houston.

“Ronnie must’ve come through with the address from those plates,” Kareem assumed.

“Hell yeah,” Loon nodded. He glanced over at Carmelo. “Black, you with this?”

Carmelo’s mind had ventured off somewhere and had checked out of the conversation a while ago.

Loon snapped his fingers in his face. “Say, nigga, you stuck?”

Carmelo shook it off. “Huh? What’s up?”

“I said are you riding when it’s time to hit this next lick?”

He shrugged. “It’s whatever. Who we hitting up?”

“The nigga’s name is Mark. He’s from The Ward. That ain’t gon be a problem, is it?”

Carmelo’s eyes unintentionally grew larger. “Mark? How that nigga look?” he had to make sure.

“The cat is tall, slim, light brown with some light eyes. He drives a Range Rover and a Mercedes. You know the nigga?”

Carmelo smirked as he nodded his head. “My nigga, you just made my dick hard. Do you know how much I want to get at this hoe ass nigga?”

Loon smiled. “Oh so, we killing two birds with one stone, huh?”

Carmelo’s entire day turned around once he heard that they were hitting Mark. He wanted to be the nigga to place the bullet in his head. Then Necole would no longer have that nigga. He could just picture himself comforting her after that nigga came up dead. It would be the perfect opportunity for them to get back tight. Damn, he couldn’t wait.

Necole walked the campus of school feeling rejuvenated. The small vacation she and Mark had gone on had placed her at ease. She couldn’t stop thanking God for bringing him into her life. She was happier than ever and saw no signs of that changing.

Mark was her support system. With him she felt like anything was possible. She could now conquer the world, since the sky was the limit. He’d given her a new bounce in her walk. She walked around with her head held high. She never knew that good love could take her to those heights. Everything around her just somehow seemed better because he was her man now.

“Cole, why are you cheesing so damn hard?” Cali questioned as she strolled alongside her girl.

Necole turned to look at her. “I can’t smile just ‘cause?”

Cali studied her with a grin. “I guess you can. Shit, I need whatever it is Mark’s giving you.”

“Then you want someone that gives it all, honey,” she stated matter-of-factly.

  “Whatever,” Cali rolled her eyes.

“Don’t hate. Green doesn’t look good on you,” Necole teased.

Cali gave her the finger before she looked up. “Ugh, this bitch,” she mumbled.

“What?” Necole looked around before laying eyes on Tory. “Oh,” she shrugged. She hadn’t seen Tory since she’d been with Mark. Really she didn’t care to see her and had every intention of walking past without speaking.

As soon as Tory spotted them, she sashayed over their way. “Well, well, well. Long time no see,” she folded her arms.

Necole titled her head to the side. “Hey, Tory. I haven’t seen you since you put me in that awkward position with Carmelo and Carl,” she said nice and nastily.

Tory pushed her hair behind her ear. “I told you that I didn’t know that it would happen like that. Truthfully, I thought that you wanted to see Carl.”

“Did she tell you that?” Cali asked.

Tory rolled her eyes before ignoring her. “If I’d known that
your man was coming, I would have warned you.”

Necole nodded, not really giving a shit. “Okay. So…are you headed to class?”

“Actually, I just got out of class.”

  She nodded again. “That’s cool.”

“Yeah…So I heard that you’re dating Mark now.”

It was Cali’s turn to roll her eyes. “Now, we’re getting to the point,” she instigated.

Tory cut her eyes at her.

Necole shrugged. “Yeah, I was dating him.”

Tory raised a brow. “But you’re not anymore?”

Cali shook her head. “No, it’s more like they’re engaged now,” she watched the expression on Tory’s face.

  “Engaged?” Tory asked in shock.

“Yes,” Necole smiled as Tory stared at the huge rock on her finger.

“Wow,” she shook her head. “I…I can’t believe that you would date my fucking ex!” she fumed.

Necole’s head snapped back on her neck. “Excuse me?”

Tory narrowed her eyes. “You heard me. You knew that he and I were once together. How could you talk to him afterwards?”

Necole lightly giggled as she looked down at the ground. She then looked up. “If I’m not mistaken, Mark tried to talk to me first. We had our little thing going and you knew that. Still, that didn’t stop you from trying to flaunt the fact that you were fucking him afterwards. I never said a word. Don’t you think that I had the right to be upset?”

Tory placed her hands on her hips and twisted her neck. “Hell no. All you guys ever did was flirt. You were too wrapped into your baby daddy. Hell, there wouldn’t be any men left if I stayed away from every guy you flirted with.”

Necole bit her lip. “Okay, that was rich. Well, Tory…at the end of the day, he’s mine. So live with that,” she and Cali attempted to walk off.

“Well, I hope it hasn’t been for long, because I just fucked him a couple of months ago and I know for a fact that he’s still seeing Dream,” Tory called out.

Necole spun around. “What the fuck did you just say?”

Tory gave her a satisfied smirk. “I said that I was just with him a month and half ago and I just saw him with Dream a couple of weeks ago.”

Necole gave her a crazy look. “Why would I believe anything that comes out of your mouth? You have every reason to lie.”

“Well, tell me this. How would I know that you and him were at the tattoo shop? He was supposed to come over that night, but he claimed that something came up.”

Necole had to think fast. Yeah, Tory had her, but she wasn’t going to let her know that she had the best of her. “You are pathetic, you know that? I’m not going to entertain you and this bullshit,” she shrugged, managing to remain calm. “I’m not losing sleep worried about him. I’m well taken care of. I might think about it while I drive home in my Lexus and then relax in the Jacuzzi.”

Tory nodded with a smile. “You sound just like Dream did just a few months earlier. I bet you couldn’t have paid her to believe that he’d eventually move another bitch into the home she picked out for them,” she placed her hand up to her mouth. “Oops. I take it that you didn’t know that. Now, toddles,” she waved as she walked off.

Necole stood glaring at her back trying her best not to run after her. She wanted to snatch that bitch by her weave and drag her through the campus.

Cali sucked her teeth. “You don’t believe her, do you?”

She shook her head. “I don’t know what to believe, but I will get to the bottom of it.”

Necole drove home infuriated. She couldn’t believe that she’d trusted Mark. She felt like it was Carmelo all over again. The difference was, she wasn’t that same naïve girl that let things go so easily. She had invested too much of herself into their relationship to allow him to fuck over her. It just wasn’t happening. She was hoping that he made it home before it was time for her to pick up the kids from daycare. She needed time to tear off into his ass.

Once she made it home, she realized that he hadn’t made it in yet. She thought about calling him, but then he’d know that something was up. She didn’t want to give him any time to think of a lie, so she waited.

An hour later, Mark came waltzing through the door wearing a wife beater with red and white basketball shorts. Necole sat on the couch with her legs crossed. She was beside herself with anger. She had been imagining all kinds of ways to hurt him. The best way she figured was to simply leave him.

“Where have you been?” she questioned as he took a seat in the recliner.

He pulled out a blunt. “I just left the barber shop.”

That was obvious since his hair was freshly cut.

He stroked his waves. “Now that I think about it, I should have waited. I gotta to take lil’ man right back up there. It’s time for his haircut.”

“Oh, yeah?” she looked at him cautiously.

He gave her a quick glance before feeling around for his lighter. “Yeah. Where the fuck is my lighter?” he mumbled as he patted his pockets.

She shrugged. “Maybe you left it at Dream’s house.”

  His head shot up. “What?”

“I said that you probably left your lighter at Dream’s house. Or should I say her other house since this one is hers too.”

He scrounged his face. “What the fuck are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about you and Dream. I know that you’re still seeing her. Why didn’t you tell me that she picked this house out?”

He tossed his blunt onto the table, before he glared at her. “What difference does it make?”

She looked at him in disbelief. “Are you serious?”

“Hell yeah. So, she came with me to look for houses. So the fuck what? I moved in here by myself. Eventually, I gave her a key. We were together at the time. I never denied that.”

Necole stared at him, pissed. She hated how he had the ability to make her feel stupid. He didn’t blink as he said what he had to say. Still, there were things that Tory shouldn’t have known about.

“Okay, so how do you explain the fact that Tory knew that we were at the tattoo shop, the last time?”

He hunched his shoulders. “Maybe because I ran into her when I went to visit my uncle. She noticed your name on my hand. So I guess she decided to mind fuck you. Shit, I don’t know.”

Necole pursed her lips. “Umm hmm. What about the fact that she claims ya’ll slept together just a few months ago?”

“I fucked her about eight…nine months ago. Just a few weeks before you moved in.”

“Wow. So you slept with her after you got with me?”

His eyes bulged. “I mean, what do you expect? You went back home to that nigga. I was a single man that didn’t owe nobody an explanation.”

She pointed a shaky finger. “But you said that you weren’t fucking with her anymore.”

“I wasn’t, but she called out of the blue and it just happened. At the time, I didn’t know if I would ever see you again.”

She folded her arms. “Well, Tory just told me that you’re still fucking with Dream and something is telling me that she’s telling the truth.”

He ran his tongue across his teeth as he absently stared at the coffee table. “So, you telling me that you taking that bitch’s word?”

  “Yep,” she popped her lips.

“Okay,” he nodded as he looked up at her. “Then go. I can’t fuck with a broad that don’t trust me.”

Her neck rolled. “Go? Well, I’m glad to know how you really feel,” she stood up.

“Where the fuck is my lighter,” he mumbled as he rummaged through his pockets while ignoring her.

She stepped closer to him while he acted as if she wasn’t there. She glared down at him as he finally found his cigarette lighter. He reached around her to grab his blunt. He was about to fire it up when she lost it.

“You dirty muthafucka!” she lashed as she slapped him. Spit flew from his mouth. She didn’t stop there though. She followed the slap
with three punches.

Before he could think, Mark had stood up and wrapped his hands around her throat. “Have you lost your fucking mind?!” he shook her. “Huh?!”

The horror in Necole’s eyes was unsettling. He never wanted that look directed toward him. It fucked him up. He released her.

She choked a little a she rubbed her neck.

Mark’s chest heaved up and down. She had taken him to a place that they should never venture. That rage was for the niggas in the streets; not his fiancé.

“Uhh,” she tried to clear her throat as she grabbed her keys and purse. She made her way to the door. He stood in front of her.

  “Where are you going?”

“I’m leaving,” her voice trembled as she cried.

He took a deep breath. “And going where, Necole?”

  “Away from you,” she sniffled.

  “From me?”

  She nodded. “Yeah, from you.”

He grabbed her hand. She snatched it away. “Don’t fucking touch me,” she gritted as her purse and keys fell to the floor.

  He gave her a grin.

“I should slap that stupid look right off your face.”

He shook his head. “You so damn stupid, man.”

“Fuck you!” she spat as she took a swing. He ducked before grabbing her and placing her in a bear hug.

  “Calm the fuck down.”

She struggled against him. He tightened his grasp. “I said, calm the fuck down.”

It took her a few seconds, but she settled down.

He spoke sternly into her ear. “Now, go lay down. Your body is a little hot and if something happens to my baby, I’ma fuck you up. I’ll go get the kids while you sit your ass here and think about this shit. I’m only going to tell you this one more time…never let anybody or anything come between us,” he released her.

She turned to look at him and saw that he was serious.

“Go,” he motioned with his head.
