The Queen Wins Page 14

by Barbara Cartland

  Tarena drew in her breath.

“I love you,” she sighed, “and I have no wish to die. I want to love you for ever.”

“I will make certain you do!” He took off his robe and then he blew out all the candles by the bed with the exception of one.

As he joined her, he thought that no one could look more beautiful or more ethereal.

“I have been waiting patiently for this moment for what seems a thousand centuries,” he said. “Now at last, my darling, you are mine and no one can take you from me.”

He spoke almost as if he challenged Heaven itself.

Tarena put her arms round his neck and drew him towards her.

“I love you, I adore you, Vladimir. Do you know that you have never yet kissed me?”

“That is something you will never say again.” Then his lips were on hers.

At first he kissed her tenderly and reverently as if she was infinitely precious and if he touched her, she might dissolve in his arms.

Then, as he felt her body melting into his, his kisses became more demanding, more passionate.

He knew because she was pure and untouched he must be very gentle with her.

At the same time the fire moving within them both was as bright as the silver moonlight streaming in through the window.

Both he and Tarena felt as if all the stars in the sky were twinkling within their breasts.

“I love you! God how I love you!” he murmured. “You are so perfect in every way. I know, my darling, no one will ever be as happy as we are tonight and we will be for the rest of our lives.”

“And I so love and adore you, Vladimir. I thought we would never be together and I would die, never having known the feelings you are giving me now that are too marvellous to put into words.”

“Then let me say it to you with kisses.” He kissed her until she felt as if he lifted her up into the sky and they were hugging the stars.

Then, as Vladimir made Tarena his, they both burst through through the Gates of Paradise.

Their love which came from God, was blessed by God and was God Himself was theirs for ever into Eternity and beyond.
