“Is that a fact?” Saber asked.

Mack nodded without turning behind himself to meet Saber’s eyes. He had a feeling that the man would have a smug expression on his face, and although he was attracted to him, he didn’t feel like being looked down on in any way.

“But I want it to be different this time,” Mack said, thinking back to the dilemma that he had been having in his mind over the past three nights when his thoughts would drift to being with Saber.

  “Different? Different how?”

Saber was pulling away from Mack’s neck after showering gentle kisses along it. Mack was sad to feel him move, but turned to face him.

“I know that you stopped yourself, from… You know. Inside of me? I mean, that was polite and everything, and I wanted to apologize that I didn’t stop when –”

“Don’t worry about that,” Saber said with a short laugh. “I liked it.”

His words sent the familiar thrill of desire through Mack’s body, and he closed his eyes and sighed, trying to distract himself.

“So how did you mean that you wanted it to be different? Did I do something wrong?”

“Well, pulling out for one thing,” Mack said with a short laugh. He was embarrassed, and he knew that it wasn’t what typical hookups consisted of. But what kind of a man would turn down the opportunity to unleash his load right in the heat of the moment? Mack was surprised by his boldness, but he felt he had nothing to lose. He wanted everything unbridled and without any inhibitions.

“Mack,” Saber said, his face suddenly growing sober. “I’m not sure that I can do that for you. I’m sorry.”

“But why not?” Mack asked, suddenly feeling vulnerable. He didn’t like it. He wasn’t used to having things out of his control. He had been the more dominant personality and his relationship with Lance. Being around Saber was much different, and he wasn’t sure that he liked having no power. At the same time, there was something intoxicating about it.

“Look, that’s my fuckin’ business, okay?” Saber said, suddenly glowering. He didn’t like having his motives questioned, and Mack was beginning to regret getting on the bike with him. Although it had been the only thing that he could think about, he knew that he shouldn’t risk everything for one tempting moment of passion.

“I’m sorry, it’s just something that I really enjoy, so I hope you understand. You don’t have to do anything that you’re not comfortable with.”

Saber stared Mack in the eye, his blue eyes softening as Mack shifted uncomfortably. He put his broad hand on Mack’s lean shoulder and gave it a tight squeeze.

“I get it. I just don’t think that’s something I’m ready for. Don’t take it too personally. All right?”

He offered Mack a charming smile and then turned away and mounted his bike again. He sat quietly for a moment, overlooking the canyon. Finally, he patted the back seat of his motorcycle and waited for Mack to climb on. They rode back to the MC, and he let Mack off by his car.

“I’ll see you around,” Saber said.

Mack opened and closed his mouth, trying to find a good response, but none came, and he watched Saber’s back as he disappeared into the din of the bar.

  Chapter 10

Mack returned to the Joshua Tree National Park, feeling more confused than ever about Saber. It was getting late, and so he decided to set up camp. He had picked up some marshmallows from the convenience store on the way and thought it might be fun to enjoy the treat he had shared with his father during their trips so many years ago. He built the fire and sat up late into the night, roasting marshmallows and sipping on some beer.

The sky was more beautiful than he could ever remember seeing it, and he was able to pick out several constellations that he learned about as a young man back when astronomy was a high priority in his mind. He suddenly wished that he would have brought the telescope, and gazed into the sky, his eyes following shooting stars and the progression of the moon.

A campfire like this deserved to have some company. His mind thought back to Saber, who was enigmatic and difficult to pinpoint. He wasn’t very warm and welcoming, but what else had he expected when he realized that the man was apparently a high authority in the MC? Everybody listened to him when he had said to leave Mack alone. Nobody had fought back, and they had all gone about their business.

Was Saber the most brutal one of them? Mack had so many questions, but no way to find any answers. It wasn’t as if he could just go up to Saber and ask him what he was thinking, or beg to understand why he did what he did. He wished that he could just have a real conversation with him without the man putting his guard up. Maybe he was afraid of intimacy for some reason. Was it difficult for him to get close to people? Or was it hard for him to commit? He wasn’t asking for a commitment, all he wanted was a little bit of attention. Someone to help him let off some steam while he was trying to find himself.

He shouldn’t rely on Saber, but he couldn’t get the man out of his head. There was something about him that drew Mack back to him time and again, and his thoughts circled and lingered on his rugged, chiseled face and the sexy broad smile that made him feel as if he were the only person in the world.

Mack’s thoughts were broken by the sound of breaking branches and shuffling leaves. Somebody was out there. He was no longer alone in the night. If it was an animal, he might be in danger. He remembered seeing the beautiful white wolf more than once, and suddenly felt foolish. Perhaps it had chosen him as its prey and had been stalking him all along.

He stood up and peered into the darkness, unsure of what to do. He didn’t want to kill the animal, but he didn’t want to be injured either. He thought about climbing up the tree to escape, knowing that the wolves probably wouldn’t be able to reach them up there. He hadn’t brought any real weapons with him, just some knives and rope. He didn’t enjoy harming animals, or hunting for sport. He would go buy his hot dogs nice and processed and killed by other people, just like everybody else.

Suddenly, out of the darkness and into his firelight stepped Saber. Mack gasped in surprise, unable to help himself. It was so strange to have the man who was just consuming his thoughts materialize out of nowhere. Maybe he was hallucinating, or maybe he was just the luckiest man in the world.

“Where did you come from?” Mack asked, wondering if this was just a vision brought on by one too many beers. He knew he wasn’t that out of it though, and carefully approached Saber, who had cocked his head and was grinning at him.

“I thought I would brush up on my tracking skills and see if I could find you out here,” Saber said with a grin. His eyes seemed to flash, reflected eerily by the firelight. It might have startled him, scared him even, had it not been for the warmth in Saber’s face.

“That’s great timing,” Mack said, tossing him a beer. “There is no way I could eat all these marshmallows by myself.”

“Why did you roast so many?” Saber asked with a laugh. Mack had piled the paper plate high with the rejected marshmallows that he had accidentally caught on fire. He didn’t want to waste them, but he hated eating them and so he was conflicted. He told himself that he would save them for later and enjoy eating the nice golden brown ones instead.

“I burned them,” Mack said, looking down at the ground with an embarrassed laugh.

Saber chuckled and pulled the plate toward himself. “Just so happens I like the burnt ones,” he said with a wink.

  Chapter 11

They sat quietly, the fire crackling between them as Saber downed Mack’s failed marshmallows and Mack finished up with the marshmallow he had been turning to perfection. Saber had completely finished the plate by the time Mack’s marshmallow was done, and they exchanged smiles as Mack finally bit into the perfect specimen.

“Mmm,” Mack said, as the gooey marshmallow dribbled a white streak down the corner of his mouth.

“That looks good,” Saber said, his dark eyes now serious and fixed on Mack’s lips.

Mack suddenly realized that Saber h
ad become aroused watching him eat, and seeing the streak of white ooze toward his chin. The handsome man stood, his broad body huge and imposing in the firelight. Mack stayed put, until Saber was right in front of him and lifted him up by the shirt collar. He licked the marshmallow off of Mack’s face, and then gently pushed Mack by the shoulder until he was on his knees. Mack’s mouth watered at the site of Saber’s bulge growing in front of his face.

“I want you to do whatever you want to do to me,” Saber said. “But more than anything, I really want you to suck my cock.”

Mack’s hands trembled. He had been waiting for this for so long. Saber’s legs were tight in his jeans, his muscular thighs bulging against the denim fabric. Mack gripped them in his hands, before finally reaching for the clasp of his pants. He slowly unzipped them and pulled Saber’s heavy member out from his boxers.

He studied Saber in the firelight, running his fingers up and down the length of his shaft. He was thick and long, unlike anything Mack had seen before. The man was just as massive as his muscular body, and the ridiculous thought that it was unlikely that Saber used steroids to look this buff flickered across Mack’s mind. He laughed inwardly at himself and brushed the thought away, focusing once again on his mission.

He squeezed the base of the shaft tightly in his right hand, cupping Saber’s neatly groomed balls in the other. He finally allowed himself to kiss the head of Saber’s penis, eliciting a soft moan of pleasure from the gruff man’s lips. Mack circled his lips around his cock and surprised him with a trick he had proudly perfected during his relationship with Lance - a deep throat. The entire length of Saber’s cock was enveloped by the tight heat of Mack’s mouth, and Saber groaned loudly in approval.

Saber rested his hand on top of Mack’s dark hair, which had begun growing up slightly and no longer looked quite as meticulously groomed as it had been when they had first met. Saber liked the look. It made him seem a little bit less like an uptight city boy and more like the relaxed man that Saber had come to know.

“Your hair looks good,” he said, through a tight groan as Mack bobbed his head up and down. Saber had never encountered someone who gave head so well.

Instead of answering, Mack locked eyes with Saber and raised an eyebrow at him as if to say, “how is that something that you could think about when I’m doing this to you right now?” Saber laughed and threw his head back in pleasure, allowing the waves of ecstasy to roll easily throughout his body.

Mack’s mouth suddenly began to vibrate gently as Saber’s cock trembled, and he knew without a doubt that Saber was about to come. He amped up his efforts, stroking and tightening his lips around Saber’s shaft. He gently squeezed the man’s massive balls and was thrilled as the back of his throat was suddenly hit by a powerful explosive wave of hot semen. Mack swallowed eagerly, keeping up his tempo until Saber had emptied all of his load inside of him. The result was thrilling, and Saber slunk down onto the wooden tree trunk that Mack had been using as a seat to catch his breath.

Mack smirked at Saber, happy that he was able to satisfy this hulking man in some way. Before he got too comfortable in his position of power, Saber pulled Mack toward him by the waist, slipping his hand into Mack’s denim pants and squeezing him tightly. Mack was already hard, and when Saber felt it he smiled. He wasn’t sure what Saber intended to do. He seemed a bit tired for some reason. Perhaps tracking him had taken a lot out of him.

He pulled Mack onto his lap and slipped his jeans off onto the forest floor. He still had his dick out and let it harden up against Mack’s ass cheeks as he stroked and tugged on the leaner man’s shaft. Mack rested comfortably against Saber’s broad chest, shuddering in pleasure as Saber began to rock his hips gently into Mack’s ass. Soon, Mack could feel Saber pressing inside of him, and he sighed in contentment as his first orgasm came quickly in the man’s hands.

Just as he had done the last time, Saber used Mack’s cum as lubrication and moistened his member with it. Mack swallowed hard as Saber began to press himself inside, firm and hard. Somehow, he seemed okay with having Mack on top of him, and used his broad and muscular arms to lift him by the waist and shove him down along the length of his cock. He kept Mack’s dick, flaccid for a moment after his orgasm but beginning to feel the stirrings of arousal once again, gripped tightly in his hand as he forced the man’s body down and around his cock again and again.

Soon he stood up and turned Mack over onto his hands and knees, allowing him to brace himself on the tree trunk. He rammed himself with all of his power inside of Mack, and just as he started to feel the mounting surge of his climax, he pulled out and flung Mack over, using his hands to stroke them both simultaneously in a fervent manner, until they both came with their cocks touching.

Mack cried out in pleasure as the torrent of Saber’s orgasm flooded his sensitive shaft, and they were soon drenched with the combination of each other’s orgasms. They rested for a moment before Saber used his hands to take the majority of their cum off of his member, and then tucked it back into his jeans.

“Well, now that you know that I can find you when I want you, I hope that you sleep well tonight. Thanks for the beer.”

And with that, Saber disappeared once again.

  Chapter 12

It had been a few days since Mack heard from Saber, and he had started getting that restless feeling again. He decided to stop by the MC, feeling bold after having had Saber protect him from the angry men who had questioned Mack’s place in their bar.

He parked in his usual spot across the street, never wanting to stand out too much when he was out of his element. He was wearing jeans and a black T-shirt, probably the most laid-back outfit that he had available to him. He wondered if Saber would like that or if he only liked Mack because he was an exotic guy from the city. Maybe he wasn’t very attracted to people who were as rough-and-tumble as he was himself. Opposites attracted, right?

As he made his way toward the MC, he could hear all hell being raised inside. He paused before he made it to the door and walked carefully, making sure that nobody could see him from the windows. He felt like a nerd, crouched outside the window and listening in before he walked into any trouble. There were the sounds of shouting men and shattering glass, until finally a huge, familiar and booming voice echoed that brought the room to silence.

“You’re not going to do anything to them,” Saber shouted. “They ain’t done nothing to us and we’re not going to fucking do anything to them. Just because they wanted to do it, doesn’t mean they did. We’re still here, aren’t we? Everything’s fucking fine. Everybody just put your panties on like good girls and shut the hell up. Drink your beer.”

“That’s easy for you to fuckin’ say,” a serious voice exclaimed. Mack peeked into the window to see who had said it. Who had dared to talk back to Saber? “You’re probably fucking the little twink who was in charge of the whole thing.”

“You shut the hell up!” Saber’s voice boomed. “You don’t know anything about that man. If it wasn’t for him, everything would’ve been much worse.”

Mack was shocked at the quality that the man’s voice took on. It sounded like a roar, the kind of growl that came out of an animal, not a human. He had heard a similar sound before, when they had been making love for the first time. How was it that he made his voice do that?

Mack looked meekly at the man who had challenged Saber. He was grotesque and ugly, the same man who had spoken back to him the last time that Mack had been at the MC.

“I still say we kill them all,” the man muttered.

There were quiet grumbles of agreement echoing throughout the MC, and Saber turned wild eyes onto all of the men.

“Like I fuckin’ said,” Saber said, his voice eerily calm. “We’re not killing anybody. We’re going to be good little pups and see what happens, and if anybody actually does start to encroach on this place, then we’ll give them what they deserve. Even the little twink that you suspect was in charge. Nobody will get away with that.

“How do you know he isn’t here gathering intel for that place he works for? How do you know you can fuckin’ trust him? You’re blinded, dude, you don’t know what the hell you’re doing. And you’re putting us all in danger.”

“What did I just tell you,” Saber said, the ethereal growling quality back into his voice. “We’re going to find out what’s going on before we act. The only thing that’ll put us in danger is ourselves if we are careless. Now shut the fuck up. The next round is on me.”

  Chapter 14

Mack walked back to his car, shaken up by what he had overheard. He didn’t understand what had just happened, but he knew that it had something to do with the company that he had quit working for before he had come down to the Joshua Tree National Park. He drove stealthily away from the MC, hoping that Saber wouldn’t notice his car passing. He stopped at the local grocery store, where he noticed a headline loudly and boldly quoting Mack, talking about how the Fredrickson Corporation had been planning to plow over the wolf conservation.

Mack could understand why they would be angry about it, but he didn’t get what the man had meant by the corporation putting them into danger. They had some kind of an investment in the conservation area? What was in it for a group of rough-and-tumble motorcyclists? Maybe they were just being territorial. Everybody cared about the place where they came from.

Either way, Mack felt furious. Saber had thrown him under the bus. He had spoken about him at first as if he wanted to protect him, and then as if he was trying any means necessary to convince his MC that he was on their side. He would choose them over Mack any day. Why had he been allowing himself to fixate so much on a man who clearly could not be trusted?

Mack seethed as he passed a display full of the marshmallows that he had roasted with Saber the last time they had been together. He couldn’t believe that he had allowed himself to fall for the idea that Saber might single him out somehow. How many other men was he with anyway? They had never mentioned that they would be exclusive, but for some reason, Mack had assumed that the strange and powerful pull that he felt toward Saber had been mutual. Maybe he had been delusional, only believing what he wanted to believe. Either way, he would have to snap out of it. There was no way that he could convince himself any longer that whatever they had was meant to be.
