  With the money he received from Mr. Ingoldmells for his services, Jules Poiret was able to buy a luxurious apartment in London, for he wished to remain in London, a city which he described as the center of the world, befitting the greatest detective in the world.

  Miss Burgh le Marsh’s love for Robert Crawley did not survive for long. She could not forget Mr. Ingoldmells, a man she came to love, respect and admire. Robert found solace in the arms of faithful Georgette and fame in New York.

  Nothing was as any one of them hoped it would be, but then again life has the habit of making a mockery out of all well-laid plans.
