“What could be so bad that would make him that way?”
Anai had seen the pain in his eyes when they were together before. It was always way back in his expression, but there in his dark depths for all to see if they just looked. She knew that something had happened to him. He had the vulnerability of someone that had been through too much in too short a period of time.
“His ex-girlfriend, the coach’s daughter, got pregnant and took care of it before he could actually say anything about it. She told him, dumped him and then left the school in the same day. He was devastated and started to get into trouble, drinking. I just don’t want you to get hurt trying to fix him.”
Denise’s words surprised her cousin. They were far more insightful than she would have given her credit for. It was clear that Denise had spent some time trying to fix him and it hadn’t worked out for her. Was Anai so much different than her? How would the outcome be any different than it had been for her? While Anai wanted to think that there was a connection, two broken souls that could find mending in each other, Anai started to wonder if it was just fanciful thinking on her part.
The two were quiet for a time and it gave Anai time to watch him in action. It was the first time she had been so swept up in the moment and the first time that Anai had seen Claus smile in such a way. He was enjoying himself and there was no two ways around it, he was gorgeous. When it came to half time and he took his helmet off and looked up at her, she wanted to be the one that could save him. Needed to be the one.
“I knew you had a thing for him cousin, just be careful.”
Anai couldn’t heed her warning. She did have a thing for him and even though he wasn’t her type, Claus was what she needed. She needed more touch and less talk, something that he seemed to be able to provide. She had not asked for her cousin’s permission, but she had gotten it anyways. She smiled back down at him and fought the urge to wave.
“Just be careful.”
Her words clanged around in Anai’s mind. She knew that she had to be careful, a man like Claus was dangerous and she didn’t want to get swept away in it.
Chapter 8
“You came.”
“I did. You played well.”
Claus wanted to kiss her, but she was keeping her distance. He looked back to see Denise kissing his friend. Jeff apparently had less problem with public displays of affection. “You want to get a drink?”
She nodded. “Yeah, they serve beer at the stands.”
“No I was hoping for a more intimate place. Do you have anything at your place?”
Anai paused for a moment. It was clear what he had in mind and even though her body wanted it, her mind was still not sure. The warning that she was given by Denise still rung in her ears and she wondered if she was on a fool’s errand thinking she could change his ways. She wanted to think that he was an enamored, but Anai couldn’t be sure. When he asked to go to her place, she didn’t know what to say.
“I mean, we can go somewhere else if you want to.”
“No, my place is fine. I drove here with Denise though.”
She wanted to see his reaction to her name, but there wasn’t any. “I’ve got my car out back.”
Anai agreed and could feel her body nervously trembling as she walked with him to his car. He had taken off most of his uniform, leaving only his shirt and tight pants underneath. Anai tried to ignore the way the fabric stretched on his thick, muscular thighs. After getting in, Anai worried herself with the scene outside of the window.
“You’re quiet this evening.”
“Yeah, just enjoying a little quiet after the game. It was good, but very loud.”
“It was the first time I had played a full game in a long time.”
“Why is that?”
“I didn’t have anything to be upset about.”
She was already tempering the beast in him, not evening knowing it, but Claus seen it for what it was. He finally wanted more than chaos again and it was because of her. He wanted to be worthy, good enough for her and he knew that him as he was, he was not. But to put that into words was beyond him. Looking over, he tried to fight back the feeling of need that he felt for her. They hadn’t kissed or touched and it was all he wanted to do. He wanted to feel her body against him and the more he tried to fight the desire, the harder it became to do so.
He moved his hand to her jean-clad knee and waited for a reaction. Her thigh felt small under his large palm and he gripped her as he moved slowly up her leg. Anai looked down at where he touched her and didn’t say anything in the way against it. Instead, she slid down further in her seat, moving his hand inches up her thigh. Her eyes closed as he moved higher, stopping just where she needed him. Claus was teasing her and himself, afraid that he would not be able to stop once he started. They were still minutes from her house and he was running out of control the closer they came. When she grabbed his hand and moved it to her core, the heat burned his hand. Claus pulled away like she was on fire and she kind of giggled.
“I didn’t take you for the shy type Claus.”
“Do you want to do this in a bed or right here on the side of the road?”
His intensity in his eyes silenced her and she turned away finally, moving her hand off of his as well. Anai would have done it right then and there, but she couldn’t get the words out. He took her silence as shyness, but it wasn’t so. She wanted what he had to offer, but she had never had a man look at her like that before.
“That’s what I thought.”
The ride back was quiet and there was a tension building with each block that they passed, getting closer to the time when they would be together. When the car finally stopped, Anai found her hands trembling slightly as she opened the door. Claus was out and waiting for her while she tried to get her hands on her keys. She tried to calm herself so that it wouldn’t be so obvious when she put the keys in the lock, but after a sound of frustration, he took the keys and did it himself. Claus waited only a second after she was inside to close and lock the door behind him. He didn’t want anyone to stop what needed to happen between them.
She looked back at him as she walked into the back bedroom and then into the bathroom. She turned on the shower and then started to undress. Claus followed her back and as she pulled her shirt off and then went to her jeans, he stopped her with his voice. “What are you doing?”
“Starting the shower for you. You are all hot and sweaty.”
Claus couldn’t be bothered as she peeled her jeans off her long legs and then unhooked her bra. She turned back around, showing off her creamy white skin to his eyes as she held her bra up to cover herself. His eyes darkened as she moved the material away and he was able to get a full view of her. He moved forward for a kiss, but she stopped him. “Not with your clothes on.”
Pulling her panties off and tossing them, Anai moved to the shower and shut the door to warm herself. She watched him struggle to pull off his clothes through the opaque shower door. He almost tripped and she had to stop a giggle that quickly died in her throat as he moved to open the door. In clear focus his body was much harder than she had anticipated. He looked nothing like Jeremy naked. Jeremy looked like a boy compared to Claus, who looked like a man.
Her hands went to his chest, bracing herself as he pulled her in for a kiss. There was no hiding anything and his hands were all over her, while his mouth ravaged her senses. Anai had lost whatever dominance or control that she had first thought to have once his lips touched her. She was lost with the feel of his hands on her hot flesh, his need pressing up against her stomach. He was ready for more and when his fingers pressed in between her nether lips and found her wetness more than the hot water washing over them, Claus picked her up as she grasped his neck to hold on. She was up and he was pressing against her before she realized what was happening.
“Open your eyes Anai.”
She did slowly as she felt his hardness prodding against her. His arms trembled slightly as he held her up and away from his body,
his manhood ready to spear her at any second. When their eyes finally met, he let her go, gravity making her crash down on his full length. He was larger than she was used to and every inch seemed to be stretched to accommodate his wide girth. Anai clung to him, whispering his name in his ear as he stilled, throbbing deep.
Her eyes were closed once more and her legs were hooked as tight as her arms. Claus didn’t seem to notice and just grabbed her hips and pulled her up to drive down again on his length. Each time he did that, her eyes clenched tighter, as well as her insides. Anai cried out, his name on her lips as he started to move faster inside of her. He leaned her back against the shower wall so that he could slide deeper, faster.
Anai came hard, her body suffocating his movement till he too was stopped in his tracks. Every squeeze of her insides, made him want more. When he felt the rush of fluid as she came around him, Claus was left to fill her with his own seed, the orgasm taking him by surprise. Pressing her shoulders down as his hips thrust upwards, Anai was panting and gasping, trying to take the sudden extra inch and the massive heat that poured and filled up every crevice.
Unlacing her arms and legs, Claus finally pulled free of her heated embrace with a groan. Anai sighed. His leaving sent fluid down her inner thighs and relief to her battered insides. “Oh my God Claus.”
He didn’t answer her, just turned her around and started to soap up her back, his hands moving to her front. Anai was in heaven, her eyes closed once more so that his every touch was intensified with less wasted senses. His thick fingers were slick on her skin and when he moved down to where she was the most sensitive the bubbles made the touch feel different. She was quickly gasping and moaning as he rubbed her slowly. When he moved away, her lips whimpered out her misgivings. “Please don’t stop.”
She felt his need slide between her legs and if she would have looked down, she would have seen it clear to the other side. “If I don’t, I will never want to.”
“Is that such a bad thing?”
“It can be.”
Anai turned around and touched his face. The length between them slid back where it was before, the slipperiness of her frothy skin helping. He groaned and his dark eyes held her where she stood. “I’m not other girls Claus. I won’t do anything to hurt you. I couldn’t.”
He moved to kiss her lips softly, wanting to believe her. Anai wasn’t the same and it was half the reason he was so attracted to her. His heart felt safe in her hands. When she started to soap him up as he had her, his hand stopped her on his stomach. “I’m clean enough.”
The water was getting cold and he turned it off, pulling her out as they made their way to the adjoining bedroom. He threw her down onto the bed as she gasped. She had not been expecting the raw animalistic look in his eyes. He was claiming her and as he slid back in and demanded she look at him, Anai knew that she was already his. Her body exploded underneath him again and again, as the man’s stamina increased with the first one out of the way. It was her that begged for him to finish, to give her his need that finally pushed him over the edge.
When he pulled out of her, she was sore all over and just wanted to doze off. Claus pulled her receptive body to him and she sighed against his hard chest. “You know I am not very good at sharing Claus.”
He pulled her tighter to him. “Good, neither am I.”
“I see you have gotten your voice back. Am I to think that you have more energy now?”
His hand moved to tweak her nipple and she whimpered. “No, not that much energy. I won’t be able to walk if you keep up.”
“I don’t know why I like the sound of that so much.”
Claus bit her neck and she finally sat up to face him. He had that smile back on his face, the free abandon that he had had on the field. “So what happens to me when you become a big hockey star? Will I be one of your groupies?”
He shook his head and pulled her back down to him. “I only need one and as many fights as I get into, it will be good to have a lawyer on my side.

An Alpha Billionaire Romance

At His Call
Chapter 1
“I told you Kristy, go talk to Marvin’s son.”
She tried not to make a face, knowing that it would upset her father. Just getting out of school, Kristy had figured that it would not be hard to find a job. Her last name alone should have opened some doors, but the only ones that were opening, were not any that she wanted to go through. Kristy wanted a job she could care about, something where she could make a difference.
Her dad manufactured paper products and she had never seen her future having anything to do with that. There was nowhere else to go and there was nothing she could do in that capacity. So, instead she kept looking, but after almost a year of no better offers, Kristy was starting to think that she was going to have to call one of her father’s friends after all.
Marvin had started a factory twenty years ago that produced petroleum based products and it had quickly become a household name across the country. One factory had turned into hundreds and it only seemed to be getting bigger as the demand rose for the cheap materials. Now he had grown it to billions a year in revenue and recently stepped down as President. His son, Ash had taken over and needed someone in her expertise. Kristy’s major was in sustainable practices and though she had only been able to secure freelancing consultant jobs, Ash was offering a full-time gig to make the company more compliant with EPA regulations.
“Dad, we didn’t get along as kids when they would come over for dinner. Or as teenagers, never really.”
“Kristy, you were young then. It seems silly to harbor issues about it. You are almost twenty five for goodness sake!”
She sighed. He was on the verge of yelling. His face was getting red and she blamed her own red hair for that personal trait. Her father was going to have a coronary. It always looked that way as he got madder.
“Now dear, we said we were not going to discuss this at dinner.”
“Discuss what?” Kristy felt that something was up their sleeves. She looked from one to the other. “What is this about?”
Gloria started in slowly, trying to be gentle where her husband was better at barking orders and expecting them to be adhered to. “Well Kristy, your father and I think that it is time you moved forward.”
“I am. I just graduated and I am taking consulting jobs when they come up.”
“Yes dear. I know you are, but…”
“It’s not enough?” She knew that is what the gist of the conversation was about. It didn’t matter how much she tried, it wasn’t enough for her high-expectation parents.
“When I was your age, I had already started my company and made my first million.”
Kristy bit back the retort she had, knowing that it would ultimately make it all worse anyways. “Okay, so what do you want me to do, start a business?”
“No Kristy, take the job with Ash, a real job and find you a place.”
She sat quietly a minute. “It is not that we don’t like having you here, but we feel it is best for you to try and get out there a bit more.”
“Okay, I will move. I was looking at some apartments for rent on the West Side with Carla last week and they were gorgeous.”
“That is too high for your budget. How much do you bring in consulting?”
“Not a lot. I doubt I can get something in Carlsson for that price.”
“There are lots of nice neighborhoods that aren’t too high. Your father feels like you need to truly be on your own.”
Kristy was starting to understand what that meant. “So you are cutting me off?”
“Yep.”
“So you are forcing me to take the job with Ash?”
“No, but I have seen the package he sent over. You are not going to get any better, anywhere else. Put the past behind you Kristy and call the man. In business you have to learn to be less emotional.”
Now her face was red and she was
ready to explode. “I will move out, but you are not going to force me to take a job I don’t want to. I want my life to mean something, not just making more money!”
He just shook his head, no longer willing to argue with her if she wasn’t going to make sense. He had given her a good life, but he wondered if it had been too sheltered. Grant believed that she needed to move on or she never would. Gloria didn’t much agree, but she didn’t want conflict with her husband. For all of the major decisions, she usually deferred to him and what he thought was best.
Kristy got up and tried not to act dramatic, but it was hard. She felt dramatic and the choices presented to her were not the ones she would have chosen for herself. Kristy had been thinking about calling Ash, but after Grant’s words, she would rather live in the slums before she would let him think that he could dictate her life anymore. She went to the school he wanted, studied business like he wanted, but to pick out the job she could have seemed to be too much.
When she went up to her room, she looked around at her belongings. There were too many to fit in her car, so instead she started to pack her duffel bag from Varsity volleyball and decided right then was as good as a time as any, to go. Kristy went out the back and couldn’t bring herself to say goodbye to her parents. She didn’t want to talk to anyone. Kristy just wanted to get out of there with some of her dignity intact. It was barely managed, but she did better than she had expected. She called her boyfriend Scott and told him that she would be there in a few minutes. Kristy knew that she could stay with him at least for a little while, until she found a more suitable place to live. Once she found a job that is.
Chapter 2
Kristy went to the gas station before Scott’s. She was trying to fill her tank up before her father turned off her credit cards, but she was too late or he had done it earlier before the discussion. Kristy cursed after all of the cards were shut off. She had a few hundred in cash in her pocket, but that was it. She reasoned that it would be okay. She would find something, anything for a bit to get her some cash and then she would find a cheap apartment and it would all be okay.
