My Sweet Dessert: The Brothers of Devil's Comfort Series 2 Book 2 Page 7

by Lake, Brair

“She’s hoping to change Tommy’s mind.”

“Well, I’m not interfering with Georgie. Look what happened to me the last time I interfered with one of my brothers lives.”

Tabby’s gaze landed on his wife’. His eyes were full of love as he picked her out of her chair, laying a kiss onto her mouth.

“Yeah, it turned out to be the best day of your life.”

Rayven’s giggles fill the room as she and Tabby left, leaving Crabby and me to face Inferno.

When the room remained quiet, I knew I just had to break the silence.

  “Inferno.”

Inferno leant his elbows on to the table, his chin cupped on his interlaced fingers.

“Don’t Emily. You and Crabby need to make your peace with Laura. Shit Crabby who else knows about you two.”

  “Sundance and Sugar Jay.”

“Fuck, tell me it was a double wedding and I can finally get Bastion off my back.”

“Does it look as though they tied the knot?”

Inferno’s eyes drifted towards the door left open by Crabby and Rayven. Nervously, I follow his gaze. Sundance was dancing with a one of the club’s skanks’, his tongue down her throat. Sugar Jay is nowhere to be seen. Idly, I wonder when she had left.

  “Shit.”

As he spoke, Inferno rose from the table, his glance once more falling to Crabby and myself.

“You two need to sort this mess out. Emily. My wife is pissed and she’s right about you. You do need to grow up. Teddy and Baby Blu are your family. This club is your family and Laura is your family. Get it sorted.”

After inferno left the room, I turn to Crabby. I felt lost and didn’t know what to do.

  “Crabby.”

“It’s going to be fine Apple-Pie, I’ll talk to Laura.”

“No Crabby, we’ll do this together. We’ll go around to Momma’s house tomorrow and not leave until she talks to us.”

  “And what about Teddy?”

My hands stroke Crabby’s dirty blond hair, which was in need of a cut. The ends curling as I rub my fingers over the fine strands.

“I guess I have to grow up. I’ll call round and talk to Teddy as soon as we’ve spoken to Momma.”

“Do you want me to come with you?”

Slowly I shake my head, and lean over to kiss Crabby on the mouth. My tongue invading the warm cavern where I can taste the mixture of beer and whisky he has been drinking. My body is burning from his touch. As my arousal begins to spike, I find my world turning upside down as my back is placed on Inferno’s table and Crabby pushes up the hem of the black skirt I’m wearing, tugging and snapping off my panties as his fingers find my pussy to push into the hole.

“Your cock Crabby. I want your cock.”

  “Happy to oblige ma’am.”

As he spoke, Crabby fills me with his cock, making me hiss with satisfaction. My growls turning to moans once Crabby has a rhythm going I was willing to match. My climax is slow, building as Crabby increases his thrusts. When I do have my orgasm, Crabby swallows my scream with a kiss. His fluid filling me, and trickling on my thigh as he came.

  “Are you okay Apple-Pie.”

Crabby’s concern makes smile and I couldn’t lie.

  “It’s my leg. I think I need a painkiller.”

“Shit Apple-Pie. Why didn’t you say something sooner?”

As Crabby hauls his body away from mine, he swiftly places me back in the chair, hunting for another chair to raise my leg onto.

“I was enjoying myself too much to care Crabby.”

“Yeah. Did you get a thrill fucking on Inferno’s desk?”

My gaze turns to the mess on Inferno’s desk, and then to the door. Where I breathe a sigh of relief when I discover it is closed.

  “It was exciting wasn’t it?”

“When spring comes and the weather’s warmer. I’m going to take you down to the bayou and make love to your body all day. I’ll start at your toes, and kiss every inch of your soft warm skin.”

“Shit Crabby talk like that and I’m going to wet my pants.”

  Chapter 13

It’s with a great reluctance that I return with Apple-Pie back to the party. Yet, as we enter the room, a loud roar greeted us, which I returned with an enthusiastic kiss to Apple-Pie’s lips, which thankfully, was reciprocated. Our journey to the table we had previously occupied, is continually interrupted as several bikers stop us to congratulate us on our nuptials. Some of the bikers even see this as an opportunity to steal several kisses from Apple-Pie, who was laughing and joining in the merriment. By the time, we reached the table Sundance and Trax were already seated.

“You never said a word Emily.”

Apple-Pie broke out of Trax’s hold, her face flush with laughter, and satisfaction surged through me. This woman is mine and I’m going to do everything I can to protect her from the scumbags who are hounding us. Christmas day was only a couple of days away. After then, I was returning to the road.

“We just wanted some time to ourselves Trax.”

Trax gave Apple-Pie a flick on the nose before turning towards me, and slapped me on the back.”

“Fuck Crabby, this makes you my step-uncle.”

“Shit, we need some new blood before this place becomes an incestuous pit.”

“Shut up Sundance. There’s not a thing incestuous going on.”

“No, maybe I’ll draw up a family tree just to make sure.”

Angel, who had come over to our table with our beers, offered her congratulations to us, and as she departed, with a sideward look and wink at Sundance, she idly remarked.

“We have new blood in this place, Take Sugar Jay and that sweet baby she’s carrying."

The remark has Apple-Pie blustering into her beer and Trax releases a belly laugh as he slaps Sundance on the back.

Suddenly there is a loud roar of bikes from outside the club, and as we look towards the doors, not sure what to expect, Quick-Draw shouts

  “Hybrids.”

At his words, chairs scuffle and fall to the floor as I and the other bikers push free of our confinements, halting all our activities as we dash to the door. In the yard, there are several bikers, all wearing The Hybrid emblems on their cuts. Who at our approach begin to holler as they turn to leave the compound. Swiftly I leapt down the steps and mount my bike. Beside me, are Trax and Sundance, and as I turn the key on the Harley, Inferno, Tabby and Dec appear. Behind them are Fudge and Linc.

It hasn’t taken us long to leave the clubhouse and the compound behind us, and as we ride the streets of Comfort Springs, I realize there were about 18 bikers ripping up the streets. As we give chase, Inferno raises his hand in a signal for us to split into groups, and it’s as I watch the bikers take their routes. The routes they knew well. These are roads we have ridden both in daylight and in the dark, as well as in all seasons. For us to split into groups is not a problem and it was then when my gut gave its twitch. Something wasn’t right. We knew Comfort Springs. We knew the surrounding area and we knew the area intimately for at least another 100 miles after that. Yet we were unable to locate The Hybrids. Where the fuck were they hiding and where the hell were they leading us tonight?

As the tension tightened in my stomach, I gave the signal that I was pulling over. When my bike came to a standstill, so did those of my companions. Inferno and Dec came alongside me and briefly, I explained my unease.

“If we let them go. We lose our chance of finding out who’s behind the attack.”

“We know who’s behind the attack Inferno, and we’ll go out and find them. This just doesn’t feel right.”

“Crabby has a point Inferno. Why come up to the club, then ride off, and yet stay close enough to allow us to follow them?”

  “I agree with Dec.”

“Okay. We’ll return to the clubhouse and try to figure this out… Fudge contact the others.”

While the other bikers turn around and ride back to the clubhouse, I remain where I was, glancing around the empty s
treet. The desire for revenge runs deep in my blood, and I was tempted to let myself ride into their trap. Just as I throttle the handle bar, my cell rang. The name flashing across the screen was Tabby’s. Ignoring both the call and my desire, I turned towards the club.

  MSD

  “What happened?”

Apple-Pie is waiting for me as I stride through the club, and has now approached me as I search the room for Inferno, and the other bikers who had ridden out.

“Crabby I asked you a question.”

“Not now Apple-Pie I need to go and talk to the others.”

  “Crabby.”

A little rougher than I intended to be, I brush past Appel- Pie, and head for the room which we would use for church.

“Later Apple-Pie. I have to go to church.”

It’s only as I enter the meeting room, I note we are still missing about half a dozen bikers, and with a raised eyebrow at Sundance; I hastily take the vacant seat next to him.

“It’s good of you to join us Crabby.”

Inferno’s sarcastic remark didn’t faze me as I throw him a look with a roll of my shoulders.

“Okay, let’s call this meeting to order. We know The Hybrids are up to something. What we need to do is figure out what. I’ve called Twiggy and he’s returning to Comfort Springs.”

Linc has taken over the meeting, and as he spoke, he wandered over to a large map, which was hanging on the wall. Meticulously he discusses each area, dissecting our answers to his questions. Were we positive we hadn’t missed anything.

“We have to go over the areas again. The Hybrids have to be close by.”

As I was speaking, Flynn came barging through the door. With him was the body of a biker I didn’t recognize, yet the cut he is wearing, is clear. A Hybrid. The room broke into an uproar as Flynn drags the body in further, flinging the biker into the center of the room.

  “Is he dead?”

Flynn glanced over to me, his eyes raking me over.

  “No.”

  “How did you catch him?”

Dec is speaking as he strolls around the body, kicking him with his foot. When I hear the moan, I have confirmation that Flynn has spoken the truth.

“Ant had just finished speaking to Quick-Draw, when we noticed a lone biker. He was slow in spotting us, making it easy for us to give pursuit. He was easy prey, and it wasn’t long before we caught up with him. Unfortunately, he’d taken a tumble by the time I reached him.

His eyes were on Quick-Draw as he spoke, who didn’t flinch at Flynn’s explanation. I didn’t care what condition the biker was in. All I was aware of, was we finally had one of the bastards.

Elevated at our luck, I finally make my way over to the biker, and roll him on to his back. Even with his battered features, I didn’t recognize him.

“The Hybrids have to be made up of more than ex Black County and River Demons.”

Fudge, who is standing beside me, nods his head before turning to look at Tabby.

“Yeah, he’s an outsider. I don’t recognize him either.”

“Tabby, Trax, take him and lock him in one of the rooms in the basement. Tomorrow we’ll ask questions and then we go on the road.”

“Inferno, let’s ask our questions. But give them a few days.”

“Shit Flynn I want the motherfuckers.”

“I know you do Crabby. And if their plan failed tonight, don’t you think, they’ll be working on another one? The New Year will be here soon enough and we can give chase then.”

“I agree with Flynn, Crabby. Let’s enjoy the holidays and then give the bastards hell.”

Frustration was eating at me. I wanted out, yet both Flynn and Linc were adamant about delaying our retaliatory attack. Defeated in getting my revenge this soon, I stroll out of the room in search of Apple-Pie.

  Chapter 14

Crabby’s tucking into his breakfast with gusto, and from across the table I silently watch him from over the top of my coffee mug.

“Are we going to talk about what happened last night?”

Pale blue eyes glanced over me as Crabby wipes the sleeve of his shirt across his mouth. His hand turning to raise his mug of coffee.

“The Hybrids turned up. You’re aware of that.”

  “Eh, yeah.”

“Now Apple-Pie, if you don’t want your bottom spanking, behave yourself.”

With the best smile I was able to conjure up, I blink innocently at Crabby, who released a small snigger.

“Anyway, back to last night. The Hybrids turned up; we gave chase until they were out of Comfort Springs, then returned to the club.”

  “Was anyone hurt?”

I’d just left the ladies, when Flynn and some other bikers had come in, carrying a biker. Due to the dim light, I hadn’t been unable to see clearly who it was.

  “No, everyone returned fine.”

  “Okay.”

Ruffled by his answer, I turn to my own breakfast and began to play with my eggs, digging into them with my fork.

“I thought I saw Flynn carrying someone.”

Crabby’s mug landed on the table with a loud bang, which caused some of the fluid to spill on to the table, causing me to raise my eyebrow.

  “Crabby?”

“Sorry Apple-Pie, I forgot. One of the bikers took a tumble, but he’s fine now.”

  “Oh, Okay… Crabby.”

  “Yes.”

Weakly I smile at the biker who was now watching me warily.

“I think we should go and see Momma today.”

  “I think that’s a great idea Apple-Pie.”

  MSD

As we pull up outside Momma’s house, it appears to be deserted, and with Crabby’s help, I dismount from the bike and hobble over to the door. Although I still have my key, which is burning at the bottom of my purse for me to use. It didn’t feel right to let myself in. As soon as Crabby joined me, I knocked on the door. My heart beating faster than a train hurtling towards its destination.

As I wait for Momma to open the door, I hear Rosie barking. If Rosie’s home so is Momma, she rarely went anywhere without the animal. Georgie and Luke must be busy. As I glance around the yard; I notice the holiday decorations were up. Just as I was about to knock on the door again, Momma opened the door. A Momma who is looking paler than usual.

  “Hello Momma.”

  “Emily.”

“Can Crabby and I come in?”

Momma glanced over the street, before she rolled back, allowing us through the door. The door closing quietly as Momma remained by the door.

“Let’s go into the living room, Momma.”

“No Emily, whatever you have to say. Can be said here.”

Momma still hasn’t acknowledged Crabby, and I find myself shuffling my good foot, which wasn’t a good move.

“I need to sit down Momma.”

I pointedly looked at the crutches.

“If you want to sit down in my house. He waits outside Emily.”

“Mrs Winters, Apple-Pie and I are here together to talk to you.”

“Her name is Emily and you need to use it.”

  “And she’s Apple-Pie to me.”

“Emily if your boyfriend cannot be civil in my home. Then ask him to leave, please.”

  “Mrs Winter’s, I’m not Apple-Pie’s boyfriend. I’m her husband.”

Shit, that’s the way to go Crabby, just spurt it out. Don’t cushion it for Momma.

Momma’s pale skin was almost translucent as she spun her wheelchair to face me. Her eyes flashing, as her lips curled back.

“Is this true Emily? Did you marry this biker?”

  “Yes Momma.”

As Momma turned towards the door, my heart sank.

  “Momma.”

“Go Emily. And the next time you want to talk. Come alone.”

“Momma, Crabby and I, are a couple and you’re going to have to get used to. It’ll be Christmas day in a few days. Let’s not be like this.”

  “Leave the club Emily,
and I’ll talk to you. Until then, go.”

Frustrated by Momma’s lack of support, I went to stand by the bike, fighting back my tears as I waited for Crabby. When he does join me, Crabby threw a glance which caused my heart to squeeze a little tighter.

  “Give her time Apple-Pie.”

  “Take me to Ted’s.”

I didn’t know what I was going to say to Ted, but if Crabby was right. and Momma and Ted are having a relationship, I was going to use him. Shit, I’d even make him my best friend if I have to.

Once more, Crabby helped me dismount from the bike, stroking my arm as he placed a kiss on my mouth. The warmth of his touch was just what I needed, and I found myself leaning into him, drawing strength from his strength.

“Do you want me to come with you?”

“No, I’ll call you when I want collecting.”

“There’s no need to call. I’ll wait out here for you.”

  “No. Go.”

  “Apple-Pie.”

“Please Crabby. This is hard enough.”

“And that’s why I think I should stay.”

“You’re a wonderful man Crabby. But I need to do this by myself.”

Crabby gave the house a glance over before returning to mount his bike. When he has his helmet in place, he leant over and gave me another kiss. This one has my toes curling and I was tempted to climb back on his bike and forget everything.

“If you change your mind. Call me.”

  “Don’t tempt me.”

Despondently, I watch Crabby as he rides down the road. When he disappears from sight, I turn towards the door. Which is answered on my second knock.

  “Hi Ted.”

“Hi Emily. Come on in. Can I get you a drink?”

  “Thanks Ted.”

While Ted made the coffee, I make myself comfortable on his sofa. This was my first visit to his house and as I wait for Teddy’s return, I take a quick glance around at my surroundings. On a dresser was a selection of photographs. All of his family, Baby Blu and Inferno were in a couple. There were photographs of Trax, Tommy and JJ, the newest addition to the Page’s clan. There is also a recent one of them altogether. Just as I was about to drift pass, I notice a photograph of me, and I hobble over to take a closer look. Surprised to discover there are in fact several pictures of me, at various stages of my life.
