“Tag. You’re it!”
She smiled over at him before speeding away as fast as she could. Cin knew he would catch her faster than she could catch him, but he’d had centuries of practice. Thad quickly covered the space between them, catching her in his arms.
“You’re a fast learner.” His face was tantalizingly close to hers.
“Always have been.” Her lips brushed his as she spoke.
Their mouths fit together perfectly as their wings kept them in the air, beating synchronously. Her heart filled with joy as he wrapped his arms around her, crushing her to him as though she was his most prized possession. Cin knew that while life might get challenging, there was nothing they couldn’t accomplish as long as they were together.
