Justice: Lady Guardians
Page 8
This was a high profiled case, because he was a celebrity talk-show host.
Brandon Somers of the Some More News show. He was a local of Reading and up and coming to Harrisburg and Philly stations. Because of his rising fame, he was a target and shit like that, pissed me all the way off.
That is where the majority of my time had been consumed when I wasn’t with or thinking of Eva this week. The deliberation in court was long and the selecting of jurors would be even more of a tedious process. However, it was Friday night and all I wanted to do was see, touch and kiss her.
Eva sent me the text, letting me know where she was at and after a quick shower, jeans, boots with a button-down, I was on my way. Thirty minutes later, I was outside of a bar, that was playing hip-hop music. It was actually a popular song, called This is America by Childish Gambino. Walking through the threshold, I saw a crowd gathered around watching a group perform, I assumed. Making my way to the middle, everyone started to become recognizable. It was the Lady Guardians, doing the dances with nobody but Eva Justice Wyatt. The jerky movements that the ladies were doing, was not only mesmerizing, but damn near envious if one didn’t know the choreography.
As the song transitioned to another upbeat one, that I didn’t recognize, the ladies all laughed and danced off the floor going to their separate corners. Eva and Cut moved towards the bar where they received more drinks, that looked a lot like cosmos. The two women laughed, clinked glasses and drank up. She was so beautiful, smart and honorable. The total fucking package and that was hard to come by, so there was no way I was letting her go.
The song, Love Calls by Kem, came on and Eva threw her hands up in the air and began to move her hips in circular motions while moving towards the dance floor. Rotating them around with the beat and danced completely by herself. It was a slow song, so I approached her and began dancing behind her, until she turned around. The smile that she gave me, had me pulling her into me, so I could kiss those beautiful lips. We continued to dance, but we were in sync as our motions were in tune along with the back and forth sway. I even began to sing the song, in her ear, as she laid her head on my chest.
“Lost call…there’s nowhere to hide.” I sang in her ear. “So let love have its way, girl, with your heart, babe.”
My shirt tightened as Eva gripped the sides, pulling me closer as we continued to dance together. Something passed between the two of us, but we continued to sway to the beat of the mellow music, until it faded out to the next song. Eva pulled away and smiled at me.
“You made it,” she chuckled.
“Yeah, I missed you.” I told her the truth.
There were no games, pretenses or ulterior motives. I just wanted her.
“Missed you too,” she admitted with a small smile. “The ladies and I were blowing off some steam.”
“Good, I’m glad to hear it. I don’t want you in that office all day and night.” I squeezed her side. “How long are you here for?”
“I’ve had a few Cosmos, so I need to probably chill until my buzz wears off. I rode Lucy today.” She was smiling.
When the woman told me that she named her motorcycle Lucy, after the I Love Lucy show, I knew she was a goof ball.
“Your girl, huh?” I laughed. “Fine. We’ll come back for her tomorrow.”
“No, it’s one thing to leave it at the compound, it’s another to leave it here, Alaric,” Eva said with steely determination.
Another voice entered the conversation and if he wasn’t on my side, I would have been pissed.
“Suga, I’ll put it in the shed, go on with your friend there.” The older man behind the bar nodded at Eva. “Go on. I got it. I’ll walk it in before I leave tonight.”
She eyed him like any woman with warning in her eyes. Old man or not, she would hurt him if anything happened to her baby.
Period.
“Will that work?” I asked, adding more pressure because all I wanted to do was get her home.
“Mmkay,” she mumbled and gave the guy behind the bar another eye. “Lucy’s delicate, Phil.”
“I gotcha, suga.” He flipped the grey rag over his shoulder. “Go on.”
There was a slight smirk on the man’s face. He seemed to be enjoying Eva’s discomfort or pushing her towards something he thought she needed. There was no room for me to be mad; he was on my side.
Just as we were about to turn to leave, a loud sound could be heard near the front of the door.
“Hey bitches!” A woman’s voice rang out, but it was almost sinister, as if she were some evil villain or something.
“Fuck, this bitch,” Eva muttered and moved into action. “Lady Guardians!”
At least twelve women came from all over the bar towards the front entrance where at least seven other women stood. They were still piling in, so it was hard to tell how many people were involved.
“Why are you here?” That was Eva.
“It’s a free fucking country, and last I checked, Jude’s is a bar that served drinks.” The ring leader of the other group said.
She had on the biker vest too. They were no Guardians, but their colors did include an image of a woman with hair wild. It seemed a big demonic. The women looked rather touched as well.
“Not welcomed here,” Eva said casually. “Now, get the fuck out.”
The sound of a switch blade being released out of its chamber sounded and then several others. I’m not sure what I originally thought about the women being able to talk this shit out, but with knives involved, I just remembered, these were bike clubs. There would be no mediation.
Fuck.
Moving into action, I stood on a table and started taking pictures of the women at the door.
“Say cheese,” I yelled. “Wait, that’s not a smile.”
“Who the fuck?!?” Several of them yelled as they tried to shield their faces, but it was too late.
“Lawyer for the district,” I yelled. “Just want to get the pictures down to the county jail, so we can run face recognition on who caused the disturbance and vandalism at a reputable bar. Does that say, Banshee Bitches?”
I zoomed in on the logo and took another picture. “Got it. Thanks.”
“Who the fuck is this?” the leader said as the others started moving towards the door murmuring about the police and warrants. “The club lawyer?”
“Don’t worry,” I answered quickly. “I’ll be the one prosecuting you and lucky enough, I can testify against you as well.”
“That’s if you leave in one-piece pretty boy.” She sneered and that was when I heard a sound that came from the Guardians.
“No, no, bitch.” This came from Goldie. “He’s off limits. You’ll end up in a ditch. No funny shit.”
Oh fuck.
I took one last picture of their President, since that word was stitched on her patch and yelled. “Oh, this is a good one. They should be able to pull a match, quickly.”
The send sound rang through my phone and the leader grimaced.
“This ain’t over, bitch,” she sneered at Eva.
“I keep telling you, Minx. You barking up the wrong tree. Stop trying to be something you are not. Having girls behind you, that are no longer there,” Eva waved towards the door, where most of them had left with my threat. “Doesn’t make you a good club and you definitely aren’t Guardian material because we don’t do shit like this. What the fuck is wrong with you? I’m disappointed.”
“Fuck you,” she screamed as if she was unhinged. “Fuck your disappointment, too.”
“That’s fine,” Eva nodded towards her. “Leave and don’t come back.”
She glared at Eva one more time, then turned on her heels and left the bar.
“Well, that’s settled,” I sighed as I was still standing on top of the table.
The women turned around to me and all started laughing. Shrugging my shoulders, I jumped down and turned to see Phil holding a shot gun.
“Just in case they weren’t scared by the law,” he said w
ith a shrug.
Everyone dispersed, but Eva found me and started pulling me away from everyone.
“What do you think you were doing?” she hissed. “You could have gotten yourself hurt?”
I moved into her and hissed back, “I could have said the same thing about you. They had knives.”
Her eyebrow rose and she said, “We are the ones with the knives.”
“Eva?!?” I exclaimed.
“Alaric?” She responded.
“Fuck, woman. Come home with me, so I can show you who’s tough. Y’all Guardians, think y’all are the shit. So I, M’baku, challenge you…” I started to go into my Black Panther speech but Eva bust out laughing, bending over with tears rolling down her face.
“What’s so damn funny?” I snapped.
The woman could barely breath from laughing so hard, which reminded me she had some drinks in her.
“What do you know about a Black Panther?” She finally got out.
“Oh, you think I don’t know about thee Black Panther,” I said with my Wakanda accent. “You’re a damn piece of work. We will not have it. I said, we will not have it, oh. I, M’baku, leader of the Jabari tribe…”
“I accept your challenge,” she cut me off, just like in the movie.
But she, unlike T’Challa, turned and sashayed out of the bar, just like Goldie. I was not mad at this, with those hips moving just the way I like them.
Fuck me.
Once we got home, Eva pushed me up against the wall, sank to her knees and unbuckled my belt.
Good God.
Seeing her like this had my knees weak and damn, when she pulled my cock out and wrapped those beautiful lips around him. I had to hold onto the wall for support.
“Oh fuck, Eva,” I moaned.
She rubbed my sac with her right hand and pulled on my long length with her left, as her mouth followed suit. The tingle moving down my back had me pulling on her long hair, so I could take back what she just robbed me of.
Control.
My hips moved quickly in and out of her mouth, as I took it deep. Hadley coughed a bit, but kept going until her lips touched my lower stomach. That shit, right there had me pulling out immediately.
“Take off all your clothes!” I barked.
I wasn’t mad and she must have known it, because she followed suit, quickly with no lip. In less than a minute, she was naked and I had her in my arms, with those long legs around my waist, as I pushed in and fucked her hard against the wall. She came right before I did, but we both collapsed to the floor, right in front of the door.
“Damn,” Eva murmured with her head against the wall.
All she needed was a cigarette to complete the sedated look she had going on over there. That didn’t last long as we made our way upstairs, and fucked until we both passed out.

Eva
The next morning, I woke to the smell of food. Bacon to be precise and coffee. Two of my favorites things to smell in the morning. The bed was empty, but fairly warm and my body was sore. In a good way, where I’d never complain. Reaching for my phone, I saw a few texts from the ladies.
Cut: that man of yours is fucking crazy.
Goldie: Mean that shit. Anything happens – a ditch
Brooklyn: He’s dreamy
Oh Lord.
After taking care of myself in the bathroom, I wandered downstairs to Alaric’s deluxe kitchen and smiled. He was standing over the sink washing a pan that I presumed had eggs in it as some point. On the island, sat a plate of waffles, eggs, bacon and coffee all on a tray.
“Morning, sweetheart,” he greeted me as soon as I hit the doorway.
“Morning,” I said in a husky, morning voice.
“Come here,” he called to me.
The man was about to serve me breakfast in bed, yeah, I came to him.
Alaric dried the pan, then his hands before wrapping them around my waist to pull me into a kiss. It was a long one, that promised so much more.
I finally pulled back and asked, “Breakfast in bed?”
“I was motivated.” He smiled. “Highly motivated.”
I laughed out loud at what he was talking about last night. It was a motivating event, that was for sure.
“No more M’baku challenges?” I asked.
His eyebrows rose as he laughed, “Baby, we can do that challenge, any goddamn day. Understand!”
“I’m sure,” I patted his chest. “I’m hungry.”
Alaric nodded, and grabbed my hand, leading me to the island. My heart began to trip more at the gesture and his sweet greeting. Last night was absolutely amazing and this was just the frosting.
“This is sweet, Alaric,” I said in a low voice.
The man didn’t respond at first then he replied, “Let’s just hope it’s to your liking.”
I took one bite of the eggs and hummed as the seasoning hit my taste buds. The rest of the food was just as delicious as the eggs, which some can make either too salty or no taste at all.
Once we finished eating, I fought him to wash the dishes, since he cooked. He tried to maintain that I was a guest and I could use the dish washer. I shared with him that I was old school and a good ole wash rag would do. Plus, it was a lot more accurate. There was no argument there, but once the kitchen was back to its pristine condition, I sighed and said, “Well, Alaric, it’s been fun.”
“Where do you think you’re going?” Alaric asked me with a sly smile. “I have the whole day planned out.”
Urr, okay.
I stared at him for a bit to see if he would crack, but he was serious. It was Saturday and I had nothing planned, but we did need to get ready for our trip to Atlanta tomorrow. We were riding to attend the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new housing development.
Usually on a Saturday, I was with the compound, doing club shit. Some of the ladies had children and if we had something, they’d join, but that was usually impromptu or if one of them couldn’t get a babysitter. LaTonya would usually watch them and we’d pay her. She was our member, Doris’ oldest daughter. Very responsible, straight A student and knew the business manual for the Babysitter’s club front to back. She made a living off of babysitting Lady Guardian kids. Any why not, she was an actual Lady Guardian’s kid.
This was one aspect, I planned to take after Razor and the Legion of Guardians. Everybody owned property, their business and more. Our first step was to buy the bar. Then, we would need to plan to see what we other ventures or businesses the ladies were interested in. Hair and nail shops were a given. We could probably even throw in waxing. A natural hair salon would be great in Reading since we barely had a place for Natural hair products. They were coming along, but a lot of times, we ended up going to Philadelphia or Lancaster. A bike shop was also a good idea, since we all had bikes and didn’t always want to go to Al’s. A few of the women knew how to fix the bikes and other cars, so that could work as well. Razor and I would need to meet to go over exactly what they could look like. There was no point in recreating the wheel that he already made. Plus, as he said, that’s what a network is for.
“How do you feel about sailing?” Alaric broke my chain of thought.
“Sailing?” I asked with slight interest.
“Yeah, maybe catch some fish, get some crabs along the way.” Alaric shared as he leaned on the counter, looking at me with a new vibe.
“You serious?” I asked.
“Yup,” he nodded.
“Okay.” I nodded in return. “I’m down but I have to get clothes.”
Alaric clapped his hand together once, then rubbed them together.
“No, no. We’ll get you something along the way.” He pushed off the counter and headed towards me. “Let’s shower, we’re going to have some fun.”
I laughed, even with the nervousness of what he was suggesting. I’d never been sailing, fishing or crabbing, but I was open for the experience. I was with the right person, because we stopped at a sporting goods store, and Alaric purch
ased me an entire outfit, shoes specifically for the yacht and we drove to the pier, where we boarded his own personal boat. I was absolutely impressed. We sailed into Maryland, where he parked his boat at the Baltimore Pier and then took me to a place where they caught fish and crabs, cooked them and the two of us ate, drank beer and laughed until for hours.
I can’t remember ever having so much fun and being so spontaneously adventurous. When we loaded back on the boat, Alaric asked me what I was doing tomorrow. So I told him. He simply stared at me with bright eyes.
“You’re fucking amazing, you know that, right?” He said as he steered us back home. We continued to laugh, eat and sneak kisses while sailing to our destination. It wasn’t until Alaric was dropping me off at my door, that he pressed me against the panel and whispered, “I had fun today. I want more days like this, Eva.”
“Me too,” I replied back without any filter at all.
“Good,” he kissed my lips softly. “That’s good, sweetheart. Have fun tomorrow and be safe. You owe me dinner and a rematch this week.”
This had me laughing out loud again and I couldn’t remember the last time I had laughed so much in my life. I was happy, like Goldie said. Alaric made me happy and that was just something that did not happen often and it damn sure didn’t happen to me.
This time, I moved into him, pressed my lips against his and kissed him back, before whispering, “I’m always careful. Night.”
“Night.” He let me go and I ascended to my place with the instantons feeling of missing that man.
I was in deep shit.

Alaric
Saturday was one of the best days that I could actually remember and that was great, because Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I was knee deep in my case. I wasn’t leaving the office before eleven at night, which meant I was only able to talk to Eva for no more than fifteen minutes or so throughout the day. She was understanding of everything, because she was a lawyer as well, but the entire point was the fact that Friday and Saturday, we had moved into another realm of our relationship. It wasn’t so much that I was pursuing her, but the woman actually stepped to me and kissed me. It was small, but it was her initiating it, which meant she felt it too. I wasn’t giving up, either way, but she felt it and was doing something about it. That was progress that I would not take for granted.
