Justice: Lady Guardians Page 11

I scoffed at the irony and was about to continue with my rant, until Alaric spoke.

“Yeah, sweetheart and I fought to get there. Do you think I would have done all of that, risk falling in love with the toughest fucking woman I know, to throw it away for a case? A job? I would never jeopardize what I have with you? For the likes of the people of Reading.” He was shaking his head. “Seriously? It was all a mistake. Mark’s accuser was actually lying, but that was because all of the women they accused did not feel they were in the position to come against him. Brooklyn told me this. We have a plan to fix it all. Believe me. I would not have defended a known sexual predator, Eva. I’m not that man. I thought he was wronged. Every rock I turned pointed to the fact that he was being wronged. He even had a record of her threatening to bring him down or she would extort him. I can’t even share this shit with you, but I need you to understand why I did it.”

Rethinking my whole philosophy, I stared at him for what seemed like forever. He was right. He wasn’t that asshole attorney from those years ago, who led me on, had me on some damn schedule and made it seem like I was the crazy one that pursued him. Alaric had been chasing me ever since that first day at the court, when I went off on his friend. The man did not stop once since then. He took care of me physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Hell, he was the first man ever in the history of men, to give me an orgasm. I had deemed myself, non-orgasmic, because even I couldn’t give myself one. Not that any decision to continue in a relationship or not, but it was important.

“I’ll take your argument under advisement,” I finally said and turned to open my door.

“Ev…” Alaric started to say, but I jerked back around and asked.

“Did you say you were falling in love with me?”

He was in the middle of saying my name and walking up the steps when I abruptly turned. Alaric’s face had a look of surprise by my sudden movement and probably the question too.

“Yeah,” he nodded. “Let me clarify. You made me fall in love with you, so you don’t get to just uproot and…”

I cut him off again by turning around and putting the key inside the lock.

“Okay, well, I’m hungry. I’ll hear more opening statements over dinner.” I unlocked the door and walked inside.

There were no sound of footsteps behind me, causing me to turn around and see what Alaric was doing. His head was tilted to the side, as if I had two heads.

“Are you okay?” I asked, while twisting my own in response.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me?” he exclaimed with a growl.

My mouth was posed for a comment, but then Alaric hopped up the front steps and was coming for me, yelling, “I’m going to spank your sassy ass.”

I took off running towards my room, because clearly, I had just pushed him over his edge. Laughter escaped from my mouth for the first time in days, which I didn’t have time to marvel in since Alaric was literally chasing me through my house. I didn’t make it halfway up the staircase, when he caught me and locked me under him. I was laughing hysterically with tears rolling down my face as we tried to overpower the other. In probable desperation, Alaric scooped me up, carried me to my room and dropped me on the bed, right before he pounced. There he subdued me with no room to kick, bite, or even a head bunt.

  “Well,” I said.

“Trying to determine if a sore ass if what you need,” Alaric commented, before nipping my lip with his teeth. “Maybe, it’s time for that rematch.”

He was almost saying this to himself, but man was definitely deliberating on the next move.

“I still have to hear the closing arguments,” I added to the mix of his thoughts. “Oh, and I need a shower.”

“I got a closing argument for you,” he scoffed, let me go and turned me over, so I was on my stomach.

The sting on my ass came first, then he nearly ripped my jeans off of me and then began to spank me, giving ten licks. By the fifth time, I was writhing under him, horny as hell.

Alaric pulled me up and moved us both into the bathroom, where he undressed me, then himself before turning on the shower. Quickly putting my hair up, because I knew he had that look. The eye of an unhinged tiger, meant it was about to get rough.

Damn, if I was right. That tie popped around that man started fucking me against the shower wall and pulling on my hair so he could bite into my neck. I’m sure that was when I began to claw at his back, since orgasm after orgasm was sending me over the proverbial edge.

“Fuck, Alaric,” I moaned as he was coming down.

I would have sworn we were done, but he latched onto my pierced nipples and began to suck and rub on my clit at the same time. The combination of my sensitive titties and his expert hands, I came all over him. The man simply licked his fingers and said, “The M’mbaku challenge is done.”

He had no fucking sense, I thought when my head jerked back in a fit of laughter.

Alaric took his time drying me off and with him on one knee, he grabbed both of my hands and said, “Seriously, Eva. Don’t do that shit again. You scared the fuck outta me. You hear something crazy or doesn’t seem right, shit, come and get me. Clarify. Do something. Don’t leave. You find me. Got it.” He told me.

There was no asking or questions. He was leaving me no choices, which I understood. I wish someone would have asked me about the asshole from my firm. They just assumed, his dumb ass was right.

“You’re right. I apologize,” I replied. “I’m woman enough to do that.”

“You are woman enough to do anything.” Alaric clarified. “That’s the Eva, I know.”

After round three of our sexcapades, I called Razor and Cut, to explain that I was alright and oddly enough, they didn’t seem too alarmed. Razor asked if my old man was there, which I knew was biker talk for the men. I was about to explain that he was, but he cut me off with, “Don’t need to be in your bedroom. Just wanted to make sure you connected with him. He was worried and about to take on my Sergeant of Arms. For a lawyer, he’s got kahunas.”

My mouth was wide open as I turned to see the naked, sleeping man in my bed, tangled in purple sheets. Alaric was very tanned, muscular, sexy as hell, smart, persuasive and seriously hot for me.

“Yeah,” I said in a dreamier voice than I intended. “He’s here.”

“Alright darling, I’ll be in town until tomorrow. Let’s do lunch. We need to go over the charter for the Ohio Chapter. Carrie is the President’s name, but I think she may have an issue with the rival gang, Hells Dolls. We’ll chat.” He said, before hanging up. “Glad you’re back.”

My conversation with Cut was a tad bit different. She did not like, nor did she care about my old man. What she was pissed about was why I didn’t call her, as my Vice-President.

“I should have known before anyone else, Justice. You don’t trust me?” She exclaimed.

“Cut, that had nothing to do with it. At that moment, I didn’t even trust myself. Put yourself in my shoes. Would you?” I turned the question around on her.

She was silent, so I filled the space.

“I know you have my back, but I just needed time for me. It’s figured out now, but there were some internal work, I needed to do without the noise of others. Even family, like you.” I said this with a smile, hoping she could sense this.

“Justice, don’t do that shit again. I mean, no disrespect, but we got into a whole beef with those Banshee Bitches. Silva just got out of lockup, Goldie used the club’s commissary fund for her bail. They had her on camera, threatening their President with a knife to her throat. They’re lucky that’s all it was. I think we need to go down to Virginia again, there were a few issues, plus we can check in on the three chapters that are there. That’s all the business I have right now.” She shared. “Rick’s cool?”

“Why wouldn’t he be?” I asked.

“That man was about to blow his fucking top on everybody. He’s crazy as shit,” she laughed. “He even step
ped to the Razor, Bear and Apollo. That shit is funny in hindsight. He loves you, that’s for damn sure. Nearly lost his damn mind.”

“Sorry about that.” I apologized again. “How’s Brooklyn? I need to call her.”

“Yeah, she’s great actually. Her and Rick actually have a solid plan that she is looking forward to, now that everything is out. You won’t believe how that entire story is unfolding. I’ll let her tell it to you though.”

“Good, good. Thanks again and I won’t leave like that anymore. Alaric already made me promise him.” I laughed.

“Yeah, girl. I’m sure he did.” Cut laughed. “Later.”

We disconnected and like a moth to a flame, sat on the bed behind him and pressed my lips to his head. I guess there was love after loss.

  Six months later

Reid, Wilson and Ebon were all shocked when I gave my thirty-day notice, as per my contract. I also did not steal any client from their company and didn’t have to, because Alaric brought on most of them from the state. The same deal he brokered with R.W.E., he also brokered with my new company, The Guardian Law Firm. He, of course, could not be the liaison, but it was granted and I was able to make almost the same type of living as I was with my last company.

Alaric had been working diligently on getting Brooklyn situation together, which I’ll just let her tell the story, but it was amazing to see her so alive. Goldie was still crazy as hell and well, Silva was in a funk. I’m not sure if it was about her stint in jail or the rocker who kept calling her out on social media. She apparently saved his life, but the man seemed a bit smitten with her.

Cut, well, she was another story, that seemed to be getting away from me. The man repellant, well, she was no longer repelling, but the guy that was running after her was – officially off limits.

I tried to mind my own business and if it interrupted with the club, then I would intervene. Somehow, though, I knew the club would be involved.

Walking down the spiral stairs, I walked to the front door and called out, “Alaric, where are you?”

“Garage, sweetheart?” He called back in a muffled voice.

I walked into the room, where the both garage doors were pulled up, as if he were preparing to pull out the boat.

Holding up the piece of mail that was lying on the bed next to me, I asked, “What is this?”

He squinted at the document and said, “Oh, did you read it?”

“Yes,” I put my hands on my hips, which was damp through the long shirt of his that I threw on.

I’d woken up to the smell of coffee, around ten after he’d made love to me all night. The smell of caffeine always worked to get me out of bed. That also meant he had cooked breakfast, which I often enjoyed. However, when I left the shower, I saw a piece of folded paper on the bed, on my pillow and now, Alaric was on the ground working on his car. “What’s wrong with the car?”

“Thought I heard a slow leak,” he shrugged, while on his knees, poking around.

  Oh.

“What’s this paper about?” I asked again.

“Did you read it?” He asked once again. “What does it say?”

“It’s an appointment to go down to the Justice of the Peace this Saturday, to obtain a marriage license for you and me.” I read from the paper.

“Okay,” he said, still looking under the car.

“Okay?” I exclaimed. “What the fuck is this?”

“So we can get our marriage license.” He said as if I was dense.

“Alaric!” I screamed. “Would you look at me? Is this your way of proposing, because if it is, I will pack up all of my shit and leave now? Are you fucking kidding me?”

I was about to blow every gasket there was, as I searched around the huge as garage to locate my truck and Lucy. He had to be off his rocker if he thought I would even condone some shit…

  “Surprise!!!!!!” People started yelling.

  What the fuck?

My eyes scanned the area as I took a step back to see people that I knew. Holy shit, I knew all of these people. They were coming from everywhere. Behind the boat, his truck, mine, the bike, outside and standing in the garage.

“Oh my God,” I gasped. “What is this?”

I could barely get out the words and my eyes began to search for Alaric, so he could explain, but he wasn’t near the car anymore.

“Sweetheart,” he called, causing me to look down.

  Good God!

He was on one knee, with a ring as big as Mount Everest and a smile to match.

“Would you marry me, Eva Justice Wyatt?” He asked. “Make me the happiest man, father, husband, I could ever be.”

  Oh.

  My.

  Gosh.

“Alaric,” I called as a tear ran down my face.

“Girl, you better say more than that,” Goldie chimed in.

“Yes, baby. Of course, I will.” I smiled. “Yes.”

The place cheered and I could see my nosey ass neighbors coming out of their homes as he lifted me up with a hug and a long kiss. Once he slid the rock on my finger, I swear my hand felt heavier.

A surprise engagement party and started it off with a legal document.

  I swear.

  I loved that man.

  The end.

  Present day

“What the hell do you mean he’s gone? Who did this!” I looked from face to face at my mother, Aunt Stephanie and Zachary Foster, the Guardian's Tail Gunner, and my closest friend. The expressions on their faces were the same.

  Distraught, forlorn, speechless.

“What the hell!” I paced away from them and back again.

  Zach reached for me. “Ky…”

“No, Z! Don’t… just don’t! I want answers. Mom? Aunt Steph?” The two women who’d been my rock and taught me how to be a strong, independent woman, stood in front of me with a look in their eyes I’ve never seen.

What in the everloving hell is going on?

I looked at Zachary, the best friend a girl could ask for. I’d met him when I was about eighteen and he was twenty-one; he’d been a prospect for the Guardians then. My dad had taken him under his wing to show him the ropes. Zach sure as shit wasn’t raised on this side of the tracks. He was from the rich part of town. I thought him joining the club was to stick it to his snooty mom and richie rich pops. But he didn’t act like he had a silver spoon up his ass, and we’d hit it off quick. Didn’t hurt things that he was easy on the eyes and any teenage girl’s fantasy. He wasn’t too bad to look at now that I’m twenty-five and he’s twenty-eight either.
