Revengeful Deceptions

Dominique stood to leave, “Muriel, I’ve just got one more question, do you think your husband and son know who I am?” Dominique asked; she was more concerned now more than ever.
Muriel put her mind at ease.
“I don't see how they could Dominique, I mean you yourself said that you kept a low profile after the accident and since the FBI took all of the evidence, I don’t see how anyone would know who you were without you coming out and telling them.
I mean just think about Molly and me, I mean if you hadn’t confided in us we would have never put two and two together, no Dominique believe me, they're both too selfish to consider anything or anyone other than themselves, and for the time being that's a good thing. You've got nothing to worry about in that department thank goodness, now get to work you two,” Muriel smiled and hugged the girls before leaving the restaurant.
Chapter Sixteen
Jonathan knocked on the door to his son's office before stepping inside.
“What is it dad?”
“Your mother wants me to remind you that you and Dominique are expected at the house Wednesday evening.” Adam had almost forgotten it was the week of Thanksgiving and he would be bringing Dominique along to their country house in Wellesley Mass; where he planned to introduce her to the rest of his family.
“Son I wanted to check on you and see how things were going, your mother tells me that Dominique is still residing with you, do you think that’s wise son?”
“You know I wish you'd make up your mind dad, I mean one day you tell me to not get involved with her, then you tell me it’s alright because after all your son killed her husband and child and as long as she never finds out everything will be Okay.
Then after the poor woman gets attacked in her own home and kills the very man who not only threatened you, but was an accomplice the night Brandon killed her family. Now you decide to once again change your mind and ask me if I think it’s wise that she stay with me. Are you kidding?” Adam was enraged by his father’s selfishness.
“Son, calm down, I only ask because your brother came to me, he's worried about you.”
“Brandon came to you because he was worried about me? That's bullshit, he's not worried about me, the only person that Brandon worries about is Brandon, and I really wish that you would reconsider having him work here dad, it’s bad for business. He's a drunk who does nothing but stir up trouble. Oh and did I mention the fact that he's a killer too?”
“Son, watch your tone, that's still your brother and he loves you.”
Adam stood astounded as he listened to his father defend his brother.
“You know what dad; ignorance really is bliss isn’t it?” He said before walking out of his own office.
Adam needed a dose of Dominique; it seemed that every time he and his father disagreed, she was the only one that he could turn to. It was ironic really, he thought as he made his way to her office, because of this secret, I cannot confide in her that she is the real reason my father and I disagree so much.
Dominique could tell by the look in his eye's that Adam was upset, she only hoped that he wouldn’t repeat the elevator scene again, or worse, the corner tryst. Although just thinking about it excited her. Being with Adam had certainly awakened her inner most desires, she felt conflicted, she hadn’t wanted to open her heart to him, he was part of that awful family, he was blood to Brandon and whether she liked it or not, she was falling for the enemy.
Right now my main concern is Brandon and Brandon only. Getting into this family was all that I needed to do and Adam, unbeknownst to him is the one who left the door wide open. To Dominique, falling for Adam had turned out to be an unexpected complication.
It was a complication though that she was sure she could handle. She hoped there was a way for her to keep her word to Muriel, and if she could, she'd make sure he suffered the least. Even though she didn't want to admit it, she was falling for him and she was falling hard. Who am I kidding? She asked herself, I think I love him.
“Dominique are you listening to me?" He asked concerned that she was staring off into nothing.
“Huh? I’m sorry Adam, I was lost in thought. I guess I’m just tired, what were you saying?”
“It's alright; I was just telling you that my mother is expecting us at the house in Wellesley Wednesday night.”
“No problem baby,” she said getting up from behind her desk and putting her arms around him.
“I can't wait to get you home,” he whispered in her ear.
Before they left for the Thanksgiving weekend, Dominique checked on the status of her home. After making several phone calls, she found out that she would be able to return to her home any time after the holiday weekend. Perfect, she told herself, although she doubted Adam would agree. She had enjoyed staying at his place, it was much larger than her own and waking up in his arms every morning was something she had gotten used to. She would definitely miss that.
“Dominique are you ready?” Adam asked as he reached for their bags.
Dominique thought he looked delicious wearing a pair of jeans and the off white thermal shirt he was wearing showed off his well-defined arms. She knew she'd want him tonight, parent’s house or not, she was going to have him.
“I'm ready.”
The drive to Wellesley was short and as Adam pulled up to the Victorian style country house, Dominique was already aware that she should expect the unexpected. What they called a country house, most would call an estate.
“Now let me guess,” said Dominique, this house was inherited too? She said with a grin.”
“Yes it was, but this was on my mom's side, this is the house that she grew up in.”
“It's gorgeous Adam, all your homes are gorgeous,” she told him. As they made their way into the house, Adam frowned as he noticed that Brandon's car was already in the driveway. Dominique saw it too and put her arms around him in a warm embrace. “Let's not let him ruin our thanksgiving huh? She gently kissed him on the lips.
Adam felt the familiar twinge of desire the moment their lips touched.
“Maybe you'll help me christen my old bedroom?” He moaned as she ran her fingers along his back.
“Oh there's no doubt about that,” she said giving him a wink.
As they walked into the spectacular house, Dominique noticed the strict attention to detail and the authentic finishes. It was a very large Victorian style home and there seemed to be a fireplace in every room. The home boosted a very modern, gourmet kitchen though, and that is where they found Muriel and her mother and father. Both in their late seventies they lived in Florida but Muriel always made sure that they were flown back to Massachusetts during the holidays. They stayed in the large house, refusing any outside help stating that they knew the house like the back of their hands so there was no way they would let an outsider in. But Muriel, the ever dutiful daughter found herself making the trip to Wellesley every day to check on her parents.
Dominique was nervous about meeting Adam's grandparents; they were his maternal grandparents who welcomed her with not a handshake, but warm and friendly hugs. The wonderful smells from the kitchen dominated the large house and as Adam showed Dominique around, she couldn’t help but notice the sheer joy he seemed to feel being around his family. That was until walking up from the finished lower level, where they would be staying, they bumped into Brandon. Dominique gave a cold hello while Adam simply nodded.
“Well your welcome's just get better and better little brother,” said Brandon.
“Don't start Brandon. I just want to get through this without upsetting mom or our grandparents so let’s see if we can accomplish that Okay?”
As if surrendering, Brandon threw his hands in the air.
“Hey, I’m game if you are little brother, we still on for football tomorrow?” He asked, trying to lighten his brother’s now dark mood.
Adam looked at Dominique before explaining, “Every year at thanksgiving all of us get together and play a friendly game
of football before dinner, hope you'll cheer me on. He smiled at her.
“Adam, don’t you need a whole lot more people to play a game of football hun?” She asked, thinking that even if Jonathan played, three just seemed not enough to play football.
Adam and Brandon chuckled at her comment.
“Dominique by this time tomorrow this house will be full of relatives,” they both laughed. “We've got aunts and uncles, cousins and their kids, the whole clan will be here tomorrow and we’ll have more than enough people for two football teams!” They joked.
“I had no idea, I hope I can remember everyone's name,” Dominique smiled, “but it sounds like a great time, I haven’t been around this many people in a very long time.” She of course was thinking of the many holidays where Stephen’s extended family would all join them at their home in New Hampshire. Adam didn’t want her to go to that sad and dark place, not today. He quickly changed the subject.
“Don't worry Dominique, you're going to be too drunk to even care,” he joked.
“Speaking of which,” he said taking her hand and leading her back upstairs, “let's say we go get ourselves a drink?”
“Sounds good little brother.”
Brandon knew that Adam was not asking him but he followed them into the grand room anyway. While Adam introduced Dominique to those cousins that had arrived a day early, she already began to feel overwhelmed but was glad for the large distraction, for it gave her no silent moment to think about her boys.
Later, when they had a moment alone, Dominique asked Adam if maybe they should find a hotel to stay at instead. He told her she was being silly that they had the whole lower level reserved for just the two of them and there was still plenty of room in the large house to fit everyone quite comfortably.
“And don’t forget you promised to help me christen it,” he whispered in her ear, already a little tipsy from the wine.
While Dominique sat in the kitchen talking with Muriel, the grandparents and the plethora of other relatives, Adam stayed behind in the family room sitting and talking in front of the fire with some more of his cousins and his father. Adam noticed that his father was at ease and relaxed.
He had seemed to age ten years over the past few months and he had no doubt that the entire recent goings on were to blame. He also found it a bit strange that even though he knew that one of his sons had committed murder, he still managed to find a very convincing way to appear relaxed. Either this guy is just as cold hearted as Brandon or he's very good at holding it all in, he thought to himself as he took another sip of wine.
“So tell us Dominique how is it that someone as pretty as you isn’t married? Adams grandfather asked.
Dominique had to think a minute before answering.
“I guess it's because I haven’t found the right one,” she said glancing over at Adam who had just walked into the kitchen.
“Granddad are you harassing Dominique?” He joked.
“I'm doing no such thing, his grandfather replied, if you ask me you’re dragging your feet Adam, go ahead and ask her already.”
Dominique let out a sarcastic laugh while Adam remained serious and thoughtful.
“I would granddad but I think I’ll wait until I’m sure she'll say yes.”
Now Brandon was the one who let out a laugh.
Muriel sensed that Dominique needed some air.
“Adam honey, I wonder if you would be so kind as to go and get some more wine out of the wine cellar please.”
“Sure mom.”
“Thank you darling, and take Dominique with you, I think she could use a bit of a breather.”
While Adam showed Dominique down to the wine cellar, Brandon went outside, after hearing that, he needed a hit and he needed one bad.
“Dominique I hope you’re not upset at what I said back there in the kitchen, I was just trying to make my grandfather happy that’s all.”
“No Adam, of course I’m not upset, it just took me by surprise that's all.”
“Surprise in a good way or surprise in a bad way Dominique?” He stared at her, desire in his eyes.
She knew him well enough to know that look.
“Oh no you don’t Adam Caruso, your mother sent us down here to get more wine and that’s exactly what we are going to do.”
She said as she perused the dusty old shelves filled with wine bottles. “Now what shall it be? Red or white or both she giggled as Adam seductively put his hands around her waist and pulled her against him.
Dominique wondered why she found it so hard to resist his touch. His tongue danced with hers as he feverishly ran his hands underneath her sweater. He stopped when he reached her already erect nipples. Dominique could feel his erection against her as she slowly ran her hand up and down him.
“Adam,” she moaned, “We can't, not right now. Later I promise.”
Adam let out a low and sexy groan as he removed his probing hands and smoothed out her sweater.
“Looks like we better stay down here a little while longer.” She grinned looking down at what had come to life between his legs.
I hope to god he wasn’t serious about wanting to marry that bitch, Brandon thought to himself as he paced back and forth in the cold garage. He'd just taken a hit and was waiting for it to kick in before he returned to the house. You can think about marrying her all you want little brother but it ain't gonna happen, nope, I hate to do it to ya little brother but I’m gonna kill that bitch way before you can even think of proposing buddy.
It wasn’t until after midnight that Dominique led a very buzzed Adam to bed. Everyone had gone to bed earlier but Adam had insisted that he and Dominique linger in the family room in front of the fire where he proceeded to reminisce about his childhood and all the happy memories that he and his brother once shared.
He didn’t know what went wrong with he and Brandon's relationship he sighed as he held her in front of the fire. Well for starters he's a cold blooded killer; Dominique had wanted to say but held her tongue. The moment they reached the bedroom in the lower level, Adam flopped down on the bed. Dominique removed his shoes and socks and before she could get him undressed and ready for bed, she heard the light snoring coming from his mouth. She laughed quietly as she gazed upon his sleeping face.
“You are beautiful Adam Caruso,” she whispered in his ear and kissed him softly on the lips.
A soft moan escaped his lips, and in a dream like tone he said, “I love you Dominique.”
Dominique smiled as she turned off the light and curled up next to him.
“Well good morning sleepyhead, happy thanksgiving,” said Dominique as she kissed her hung over man. Dominique had just gotten out of the shower when she saw that Adam was awake.
“What time is it?” He moaned as he returned her kiss.
“Oh it's a little after 11, how's the head? She asked as she handed him a glass of water and two aspirin.
“What would I do without you Dominique? He asked while swallowing his hangover cure.
“Let's hope you never have to find out.”
“Hey where are you going?” He said as he playfully tugged at her bathrobe.
“Hey now, what do you think you’re doing Adam?” She grinned seductively.
“Who me? Nothing, but did you forget what you told me last night in the wine cellar?”
“I do remember Adam and I’m surprised that you do too, but my dear what you don’t remember is that I said later and later came and went and you, Adam Caruso passed out.”
“No, I’m pretty sure you said first thing in the morning,” he said as he pulled her on top of him.
“I do wish that my head would stop pounding,” he said with a painful moan.
“Well now, I may be able to help you with that,” she replied as she ran her fingers along his chest working her way down.
“And what do you suggest?” He asked his headache already beginning to subside.
“Oh just this,” She replied as she leaned down and kissed him d
eeply. Her hair covered his warm chest as she covered him with soft kisses. He tugged at her bathrobe making it fall from around her shoulders revealing her soft ample breasts, breasts that now caressed his skin as she worked her way down to his swollen, hard erection.
Adam inhaled sharply as her cool tongue took him into her mouth swirling slowly and delicately around him. He wanted to call out her name but all he could manage was a slight whisper. And as he eased deeper inside her mouth he felt his desire rising to the surface.
The moment was so erotic for him, he liked the way her hair fell around him, how even with her lips wrapped around him she seemed to be smiling, taking him in. Dominique could feel the thirst rising in her and she wanted him to quench that thirst.
“I love the way you taste.” she said in a throaty growl.
“Hey you guys decent in there Brandon burst through the door and into the room.
Adam quickly gathered Dominique in his arms and covered them both with a blanket.
Adam was fuming. “You ever hear of knocking ASSHOLE?”
“Sorry little brother ain't nothing I haven’t seen before.” Brandon said, staring directly at Dominique who was now huddled against Adam with the covers up to her neck.
“What the fuck do you want Brandon?”
“Huh? Oh yeah I almost forgot why I came down. Its football time buddy, get up, get dressed and let's go, everybody’s waiting! Come on.” He said before heading out the door.
Dominique knew that Brandon's so called accidental intrusive was done on purpose.
“Adam why is your brother trying to come between us?” she asked rising from the bed.
“Dominique where are you going?” Adam was in desperate need of her to finish what she had started.
“Forget it now Adam. Thanks to your brother, I’m not longer in the mood, you better go get ready for your game.” She said slamming the bathroom door behind her.
“I need to get in the bathroom in order to do that! He said with irritation in his voice. Now he too was mad.
“It's a big house Adam, there are plenty of other bathrooms, and I suggest that you find one!”
