Something told me he knew I hated the station and the song, but I wasn’t going to say anything. He could really be a jerk when he wanted to.

But that was one of the reasons I was starting to like him.

With Jay it felt like I would never get bored with his comeback lines and his ability to make me scream at a drop of a hat.

I would think that something like that would make me upset. But it didn’t. It made me feel alive and good. It was like no matter what I said to him, he was still going to be there the next day waiting for me to come up with something new.

It felt like he knew me and he liked what he saw. With him I never had to play the perfect innocence girl role everyone thought I was. I didn’t have to wear a mask and pretend. I could just be me.

Though I remembered all the things I hated about him. I hated the way he was always with another girl, that he acted like he owned me, and so many other things that just weren’t coming to my mind, right now.

  With Leon it was different.

Leon made me feel like I was the shy girl, with a crush on the popular boy. He was someone I knew would rather spend time with me then take me out to hang out with his friends. He would never flirt with other girls or make it seem like he could get any girl he wanted.

The only thing was did he even see us as being something. He was still in love with Elizabeth, I knew that much. I wasn’t sure if with him he would just always be a crush. The crush I would never have or the love that I really did want and need.

I saw the car door open and turned to see Jay holding his hand out for me. For one second I almost didn’t take his hand. In that one second I almost asked him to take me home, so I could have my normal life back and not worry over him or Leon. But, I did take his hand. I took it and let him help me out of the car.

He was quite as he stared at me. I knew he wanted to kiss me. I could tell by the way his icy eyes kept staring at me with a lustful look.

Jay had been looking at me like that a lot. I wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or not. I knew the risk of him kissing me and so did he.

It wasn’t like he could just control himself and not take my soul. No matter what he did if he kissed me he would take my soul rather he wanted to or not. And if we ever went too far years would be taken off of my life.

“Come on.” He whispered, closing the door. He pulled me to his house. I followed him, trying not to get my feeling in the way of keeping a clear mind.

He paused by the door and frowned.

“I can’t believe she did this.” Jay frowned and shook his head.

“Did what?” I asked, looking up at him.

He opened the door and nodded his head. All of the lights were off, but as soon as we walked through the door the lights caught on and confetti flew everywhere.

“Surprise!” I heard everyone scream. “Happy Birthday, JAY!”

I stared at all of the people everywhere. I saw that it looked like the whole school was in there. I even saw my friends on the side, smiling and laughing.

I blinked as I watched Angelica and Damon let go of each other’s hands.

Sighing, angrily, I began to walk over to them, getting ready to yell at the both of them, only for Dora to pop up out of nowhere.

  “I totally got you, didn’t I?” She smiled, widely. “Don’t say I didn’t because I know I did.”

“You did.” I said, wanting to go talk to Ang and Damon.

“What were you thinking?” Jay whispered, loudly. “Jennifer is out there and you’re throwing a party!”

“Hey, tomorrow is your birthday and I know it’s a school day.” Dora laughed. “Just say thanks; it took some dust to put all of this together.”

“While you two fight, I’ll be over there.” I told them, no longer paying attention to the words.

I walked over to Damon and Angelica with my arms folded.

“How are you two?” I asked, with my arms folded.

I wasn’t really anger at Angelica. I wasn’t sure if Damon and made her not tell me about them or not. Damon put his arm around Angelica’s shoulder, grinning.

“We’re good.” Damon said. “How about you?”

Angelica frowned, but didn’t say anything. She didn’t even look at me.

“Can I talk to you, Damon?” I wasn’t asking.

“Your little boyfriend already talked me.” Damon replied, dryly. “But as you can see talking will get you nowhere.”

“Listen you butt-hole,-” Before I could finish my little rant, Angelica got up frowning.

“Bonnie, stop it.” She said. “Just stop it.”

“Why are you here with him?” I asked, trying not to yell.

“That’s none of your business.” She told me, not at all nice. “You can date his brother and I can’t date him. You can be such a hypocrite.”

I opened my mouth, and then closed it. I wanted to tell her that she didn’t know what she was getting herself into, but did I really know what I was getting myself into.

  “Angelica, you lied to me.”

“You lied to me, too.” She said, sitting back down by Damon and grabbing his arm.

I was so going to kick Damon’s butt!

“Bonnie, I got you something to drink.” I turned and saw Beth with Jonathan standing right by me. “Come let’s get something to eat, too.”

I looked into Beth’s blue eyes and knew she was pleading with me. I give one last look at Damon and Angelica, and then shook my head at her.

“How did you know about this party?” I asked, walking with her over to the table of food.

“I got a text from you.” Beth laughed.

  I blinked. “Right.”

“Thanks for inviting all of us.” Beth went on. “I always wanted to see their house. This place is huge and so beautiful.”

“I saw a nice pool out back.” Jonathan said, picking up some food. “I bet you could get lost in this place, huh.”

I shook my head agreeing. I didn’t really feel like talking.

“It looks like Reed is having fun.” Beth commented. I followed her eyes on the dance floor and saw Reed dancing with Dora.

Dora smiled at me and I decided I didn’t have anything to worry about when it came to them.

“Where is Keith?” I asked. I hadn’t talked to him since our date.

  “He didn’t come.” Jonathan frowned.

“Why not?” I asked, not understanding.

“Why do you think?” Beth chuckled. “I guess he knows he has lost you to the forbidden four and isn’t ready to see you with them, right now.”

“I’m not with the forbidden four.” I told her with a frown.

“Well you have gotten closer to them than anyone else ever has.” Beth commented, before she put some food into her mouth.

I was about to denied what she said, and then I realized she was right. The forbidden four never hang out with anyone for too long. They went on their little dates and then soon they would be done with the girl and move on. I was the only person to ever hang out with them this long. I was the only person to know their secret.

“Don’t even worry about him.” Beth frowned. “He has company.”

I give her a questionable look.

“Madison is with him.” Jonathan said, after Beth seemed like she couldn’t talk anymore.

My eyes stared at him then I looked at Beth and knew it was true. I wasn’t jealous at finding this out, just upset.

I couldn’t believe he would even talk to her after what she had said about me, Beth, and even his cousin, Angelica. If he wanted to talk to her, then fine. I wouldn’t say anything. They both are perfect for each other anyway.

As I stared out at everyone on the dance floor I noticed that Nate was dancing with a girl who looked like she was a senior. He saw me looking at him nodded me over, I shook my head, no, and watched him chuckle.

“Bonnie, don’t worry over it.” Beth let out, after a few moments. “He’s just upset and doesn’t know who he is with right n
ow.”

“I don’t care.” I told her, looking around the room at everyone dancing and having a good time. I briefly wondered were Jay was. I would have figured he would be the life of the party, but it seemed I couldn’t find him anywhere.

“He still likes you, you know. He has liked you since like forever.” Beth whispered, looking briefly at Jonathan. I wasn’t sure, but I got the feeling she was thinking about Jonathan. “So, don’t take that for granted.” She soon added and looked right at me.

I shook my head and then looked over at Angelica, she seemed very happy sitting there with Damon.

I was still mad and didn’t like the fact that they were together, but what could I do. I soon noticed Dora walking over to them, she whispered into Damon’s ear and Damon smiled, shaking his head.

Angelica looked kind of put off, but he looked into her eyes and said something. She looked almost like she was in a dazed for a few moments, then she giggled. Damon got up and followed Dora off.

I balled my fist. He had just used dust on her. I just knew it.

“I will be right back.” I told Beth and Jonathan.

As I walked over to the now bubble looking Angelica I bumped into Reed.

“This is a great party, Bonnie.” Reed stated, laughing. “Thanks for inviting me.”

“No problem.” I said, wanting to get over to Angelica. “I’m about to talk to Angelica. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Yeah, I’m about to hit the food.” He grinned. He walked off to where Beth and Jonathan were still standing.

I continued over to Ang wishing that I could just tell her why I didn’t think she and Damon would work out, but I just couldn’t risk it.

  “Ang,” I said, softly.

She looked up at me with a huge smile on her face and then she frowned. “You want to apologize.”

“I’m doing this because I’m looking out for you and I love you.” I told her, sitting down right by her. “He’s just using you.”

“No, he’s not.” She told me, firmly.

Since I knew telling her he was a pixie was a no, I decided to tell her something else.

“He has this on again, off again, relationship with Dora.” I whispered, knowing I was playing with my last hand of cards.

Her green eyes turned to look at me. She narrowed them and then flipped her black hair.

“He told me she was an old friend.” She frowned. “I believed him.”

“Damon’s lying.” I told her, becoming upset at him.

“Bonnie, just stop it, okay.” She frowned, throwing her hands down on her legs. “I can’t believe that Damon would do such a thing. I won’t ever believe you, okay. I just can’t believe you. I don’t know why, but I just can’t.”

I stared at her puzzled. She seemed almost as if it was killing her not to believe me. He must have told her not to believe anything I said, with his damn dust. I rose to my feet getting ready to find Damon and kick his ass, when I felt someone wrap an arm around me.

My eyes looked up and I saw Jay standing over me.

“Come on, let’s talk.” He whispered in my ear.

“Yes, we need to talk.” I whispered to him, making sure Ang couldn’t hear me. “Damon is going way too far.”

“Hey, Bonnie….Jay.” I heard Nate say, walking over to us.

“Stay with Angelica and make sure Damon doesn’t go anywhere by her.” I heard Jay tell Nate, but I knew Ang hadn’t heard him over the music.

He gave him a knowing look and shook his head. I watched him sit down by Ang and start to talk to her. I saw Angelica laughed at whatever he said touch his arm. I could tell she was enjoying talking to him and him her.

I was already in the love triangle from hell. I didn’t want her to be as well, through maybe she wouldn’t be. Damon was more of a player and Nate liked older women. So, maybe this wouldn’t turn into anything.

“Come on.” Jay said, pulling me to follow him.

I shook my head. I was going to tell him about everything Damon had done to Angelica. I gave her as well as Nate one last look and then followed Jay up to his room.

Once he closed the door I couldn’t hear any more music.

“You like my room?” He smirked, watching me look all around.

My eyes took in the beautiful color of his walls, the rich scent of the room’s smell, and even the expensive games on his floor. There was a flat screen on the wall that one of the games was hooked up to. I was tempted to ask him if we could play something.

But I needed to get to Angelica.

“It’s nice.” I responded, eyeing his inviting looking bed. I wonder how many girls had, had the pleasure.

Something told me it wasn’t his dust that kept girls screaming for more.

“Just nice,” Jay frowned. “If there is anything you want to change, let me know and I’ll get it done.”

I stared at him hardly. “Why? I won’t do anything in my room for you.” I laughed, folding my arms.

“I want you to feel at home here.” He told me, clearly ignoring my last comment.

“I have a home.” I told him, wanting to add ‘I don’t feel at home there, so why would I here.’

“Think of this as your second home.” He chuckled, walking over to me.

“Yeah, well I want you to make this room bigger.” I smirked. “I like having space.”

  “Sure, is that all?”

“Change the walls to my favorite color and you better know it.” I laughed, knowing I had never told him one of my favorite colors.

He said every favorite color I had ever had.

I stared at him wide eyed.

“How did you know?” I asked. “You can’t read minds can you?”

“I don’t need to read your mind to know you.” He grinned even closer now.

I was supposed to be up here to tell him about what Damon was doing to Angelica, but with him being this close, it was hard for me to keep my focus.

“You know I woke up this morning wanting to see you.” I whispered, wanting to stop myself so badly. I didn’t want him to know this, but knew it had to be said. “I was kind of upset when I thought I wasn’t going to see you. It’s like you and the rest of the forbidden four have become a part of my life.”

“You’ve become a part of my life, too.” He responded. “You’ve become a very big part of my life. So much that I can’t see my world without you.”

“Don’t say that.” I murmured. “We barely know each other. It’s supposed to take time to feel like that.”

“Time,” He chuckled, sarcastically. “I have tons of time, but all I want to do is spend that time with you. There is just something about you, pet.”

I rolled my eyes. “So, I gather I fit into your preference.”

“Pet, the only preference I have is you.” He whispered, taking a step to me. “I don’t care what you look like. You can change the length of your hair even its color, I wouldn’t’ care, as long as it was you. You are the only preference I have.”

I took in a breath and stared into his eyes.

How could he say something so sweet, yet be so….Jay.

“Jay, I care about you way more then I want to.” I sighed, not knowing how to put my words together. “But, I honestly don’t know if I feel for you like that.”

There were times when I thought I could really be with Jay. Even with his jack-butt ways and him being such a huge flirt, but then my mind would go to Leon.

I could see myself with him, too.

He was so different then Jay.

Leon was the kind of guy that was the prince in the fairy tale books. He would be the knight and shining armor.

Jay was more like the bad boy girls had dreams about one day changing. He was more of the fantasy and Leon was more of a reality.

This choice should be easy, yet it wasn’t.

  “If I told you…..”

The door came wide open making him pause.

Both of our eyes went to the door and we saw Dora st
anding there with Damon’s arm wrapped around her.

“Jay, it’s your birthday!” Dora laughed. “And as much as I would love to leave you alone so you can have birthday sex, I put together this party for you so you’re going to bring your ass down there and have some fun!”

“Yes, mom.” Jay frowned. He looked back to me and smiled. “Coming.”

“In a minute,” I said, smiling back. I needed some time alone.

He shook his head, as if he understood, and walked out.

“Bonnie, why don’t you follow him while me and Dora get more comfortable.” Damon lifted his eyebrows, implying something I didn’t want to know. I rolled my eyes. “You can join us. I really wouldn’t mind.”

I was about to tell him to go to hell and yell at him about Angelica, when Dora opened her mouth.

“Oh, kiss my booty butt cheeks.” Dora growled. “Not to the left, not to the right, but in the fucking middle, you ass-hole.”

  “Dora,” Damon laughed.

“Get out of here, Damon. I want to talk to Bonnie.” She told him, rolling her eyes.

  “Dora,” He repeated.

Dora grabbed him and through him. Damon’s body flew right to the wall and just when he was about to hit the wall he jerked his feet up, stopping the context.

“Bitch,” Damon spoke under his breath.

“I’m a pixie.” Dora shrugged her shoulders and closed the door in his face. She slowly turned to me and grinned. “Sorry, about that. I and Damon have this on again off again relationship.”

“I know.” I spoke, remembering what Jay had told me about them. How dare Damon see Angelica and then go see her. “So,” I added not really sure what we could talk about.

“So, you and my brother?” She said, looking at me with something I couldn’t read.

  “Not really.”

“He marked you and that means Jennifer isn’t going to like that.” She said, frowning. “You do know this, I’m sure. I think my mom and dad would however find this to be very odd. Seeing to what he told them once.”

I frowned not liking where this was going.

“What did he tell them?” I asked, not sure I really wanted to know.

“That if he ever marked a girl he would marry her.” Dora told me, with a smile on her beautiful lips.
