The wet warm touch of her tongue in combination with the hot air from her breath on his chest; immediately this caused his back to arch up. Releasing her hair, his hands immediately planted firmly on the side of her thighs; holding firm to keep from tossing her off of him. When he went forward, the motion resembled a bucking bull. A loud cry starting deep within his throat bellowed in the room, signaling delight. He wanted to indulge her for a while longer, but William wasn’t sure how much more of her nipping and biting he could stand.
In a deep voice, Pamela heard him muttering a curse, just before moving his hands to her waist, then quickly lifting her up to land flat back onto the bed. She felt his weight roll over on top of her, then his mouth covered hers with his. She couldn’t help herself; a giggle seeped out through the sides of their wedged lips. Her body was being quenched by his nearness. The hairs on his chest rubbed against her hormonally sensitive nipples. The pleasure was unlike anything she’d ever felt in the past. It was like a growing excitement with no end in sight. The center of her pleasure began to throb and ache much like her breast. She couldn’t believe it when she actually felt her climax building to a point of release. She needed air, and their shared kiss was preventing this. Forcing her head to the side, Pamela panted while groaning out a loud cry. She’d heard about things like this. Women whose bodies became easily aroused due to their blooming pregnancies.
Even though she had signaled that she’d just experienced an orgasm; there was still a low rumbling in her core. A tingling itch that wanted more. She knew that her body had not completely been satiated. William lifted up on one elbow, and in an instant he recognized her glow but the glint in her eyes told him the same thing she’d concluded.
Pulling one of her thighs up into the palm of his hand, he wedged his sex in the center of her folds to slowly guide himself inside of her. Due to her mini orgasm, the moistness generated from that release had made his entry feel like a slick glide into a welcoming glove. Her body hungrily squeezed his flesh, requiring that he make no sudden moves. He needed to allow her sex to adjust to his fullness. This is the way it always was for them, so they lay there for a while, holding and caressing each other. Aimlessly, kissing different parts of their bodies; a shoulder, an ear, a cheek and then the collarbone. Finally, like two highly charged magnet’s their lips had searched until they found each other. Their mouths touched with soft petal kisses. A tender expression of their love. A homage to a future filled with adornment and so much more.
When he believed that moving wouldn’t cause her much pain, William began shifting his hips by making slow in and out movements. Just enough to test the glide of his strokes. The tip of his head tingled with the slightest move, which made this extremely pleasurable for him. As he increased his speed and deepened his thrust, the full magnitude of their love making took on an entirely different tone. Their passion blazed with an enthusiasm they each recognized and welcomed. The atmosphere in the room lit with an electrifying exhilaration.
The current of moist flesh moving in tandem, this sound amplified their enjoyment. This accompanied by the thrill of being joined as one, had them vibrating at their sexual cores. There was nothing else in the world that could be compared to the pleasure being experienced in the room. No amount of precious treasures, priceless stones or chemical altering substance could measure up to their delight. In short, they were in heaven on earth, and they didn’t want this merriment to ever stop.
Pamela and William held on tight to one another as wave after wave of intoxicating adrenaline rushed up, like lightning bolts of sheer energy. This surge sent tremors crawling up and down their spines, like tiny tickles, teasing the limits of their tolerance. As a couple, they were evenly matched and the difference in their age didn’t factor in to their lovemaking. It never had, which had once been curious to them. But at the moment, this wasn’t a thought. The source of their joy occupied every morsel of their concentration. As his body teetered close to his release, not once did he lose his primary focus. William knew that he needed to be careful due to the pregnancy and they couldn’t be as rough as they normally would be. Yet, as he tried to hold back some of his forceful thrust, he noticed how Pam would lift her hips begging him to give her more of him. Even as she tried to tempt him with the lure of her sultry gliding moves, William stayed the course. He didn’t give in to what his body wanted from him. He held her down, using his weight and the sheer size of his body. There would be no overpowering him and he knew it would take little to gain and keep control.
When she appeared to be giving in by slowing her lifts and erotic gyrations, William began to direct his hips to center his thrust directly on the small sensitive area at the top of her folds. The second he did this, he felt a steady growing shutter beneath him as Pamela reacted to his direct massaging movements. As she began her assent to another release, he joined her; feeling his body reaching for the same glorious outcome. As they each neared, then finally reached the top of their plateau; in unison they cried out, mouthing in a jumble of words how wonderful the feeling was to them. Their sweet chorus blended until finally the noise ended with their lips meeting in a delicious kiss. Like a strobe light, intermittently flashing with its dazzling pattern; they too flashed with an array of emotions. Joy, delight, exhilaration; just to name a few.
Tired and completely spent, William rolled over and off of her because he didn’t want the weight of his body to get to heavy on her. Pamela rolled onto her side to face him when he did this. Beads of sweat glistened on the surface of her brow and forehead.
Their lovemaking had been the equivalent to running a marathon. Hard work by all accounts but extremely pleasurable and worth the effort.
William smiled while his eyes followed a trail of glistening sweat. The drop traced a path down the side of her face. Sloping beneath her chin and neck; finally to land in the sweet valley of her breast. He’d never watched anything more alluring, that is until his eyes lifted, landing back on her sated face. Pamela was beaming, and he had to wonder if he was the reason for her glow, or if the pregnancy held the credit.
“That was incredible.” She said. Her face immediately lit with a smile.
“Was I to rough?” he asked in a concerned voice.
“No...not rough enough.” She said, while pulling strands of hair on his chest.
“Ouch!” he yelped, then laughed, while pulling her into his arms. “You behave yourself, or I’ll be forced to make you pay for that later.”
Pamela felt his arms wrapping around her from behind as they assumed a spoon lying position. She loved this part. The holding that followed after they made love. Their postcoital time together was just as special as their time spent making love.
“Why wait for later.” She teased. “Why not make me pay for my insolence right now.”
That sounded perfect. He would have relished the idea but he couldn’t. If they made love again, it would lead to countless repeats because stopping was always a problem for them. Due to a years worth of weekends and stolen moments; in the past when they made love, it was as if that encounter would be their last. So much had been uncertain and most times neither knew if their future plans wouldn’t be interrupted, delaying their rendezvous.
Even though that wasn’t the case anymore and so much had changed; there were other concerns that required their attention. If they were at the mountain retreat alone William wouldn’t mind staying locked in their bedroom but that wasn’t the case and currently he didn’t think their guest would accept their absence.
With his mouth planted on the top of her head, he kissed her gingerly. He understood why she wanted to stay here. Staying would mean not having to deal with her parents. It would mean not having to suffer through strained looks from his parents and the hostile glares from his daughter.
Pamela felt his chest expand when he inhaled to take a big dose of air. She knew that the intake of air would be followed by words filled with wisdom.
“Pammy, nothing would make me happier th
an staying here in this bedroom with you honey. Unfortunately, it’s up to us to tow the line this weekend by being the perfect married couple. We know that we love each other and we know how and when it happened. But you can’t forget that this is all new for our parents and Morgan. They may not be as persuaded and we have to help them see reason.”
After hearing that assessment, Pamela ripped herself out of her fantasy. The one in which they had somehow sprung forward in time and were all one big happy family, waiting to take those pictures that Frederick talked about. She thought, how silly she’d been to believe trouble didn’t loom, waiting to greet them beyond their love nest.
Nonetheless, they lay in the bed for a while longer, wrapped in each others arms. When an hour had passed, and well before dinner, they showered, changed and were the first to arrive in the large sitting area next to the dinning room.
William saw no need for pretense. He’d decided, being open and honest was the best course of action. There had been enough secrets to last a lifetime and he wanted their families to trust that their deception had finally ended. It was time for all healing to begin.

Chapter 4
Dinner at Barn Wood Hudson
Later that evening, when they came together in the large dinning room, the long table had already been set. The aromas coming from the kitchen filled the air with mouth watering temptations. Mildred dispensed with the formalities normally practiced at these family dinners. She saw no need for pretense or routines that stifle a freer way of doing things. Assuming the role as host out of habit, she directed everyone to sit anywhere they would like. No one said anything but when she realized her gaffe she quickly righted her mistake by pointing out what she’d done wrong.
“Oh my... Please excuse me for being presumptuous. It really isn’t my place to point out that we’re free to sit wherever we want. I’ve been acting as William’s host during this past year, and planning seating arrangements was one of my responsibilities. But William has Pamela to do that for him now. I’ve over stepped my boundaries. Everyone....I apologize and Pamela, dear...please excuse my faux pas.”
Morgan had reluctantly joined them for their first meal, due to her grandmothers coaxing. She’d been walking by her grandmothers side, keeping pace with her head lowered as they entered the room. Now she was standing next to her in front of the dinning table, chewing on her inner jaw, hating that she didn’t stay in her room. Even though Mildred had not mentioned Bianca’s death and that being the reason she’d acted as William’s host for his dinner parties; explaining this had not been required. They all knew what the past year had been like for them all, living without Bianca. Pamela watched as Morgan lifted her head then cut her eyes in her direction. The girls animosity was plastered all across her face.
When silence fell over the room, it wasn’t until then that Pamela realized something. While she’d been stunned by the bitterness on Morgan’s face, everyone else in the room had been waiting for her to speak, and when she didn’t say a word, William spoke in her stead.
“Mother, I don’t think anyone minds you hosting here at Barn Wood Hudson. After all...it is a family home.”
“Technically, Barn Wood belongs to you dear.” She corrected her son but William waved off the technicality. On the eve of his wedding to Bianca, his father had handed him the deed to the property. This was a common practice in the Hudson family. The only stipulation to ownership is that the property must remain in the Hudson family. One day, William wanted to be the one to hand the deed over to one of his children and he still had high hopes this would happen.
Smiling at his mother, William said...
“No matter. Please...everyone sit wherever you want. The meal will taste wonderful wherever you choose to sit.”
After that, nothing more was said on the subject, and the men began pulling out chairs for the women before sitting at the table themselves. To the right of him, William pulled out a chair for Pamela. He couldn’t fantom the idea of having her seated at the other end of the table. That amount of distance would put her to far from him. The tension in the room was palpable and he wanted her to feel his strength by having her close by his side. Once she was seated, the others took their places. The table seatings were pretty much what Pamela had expected they would be. To the right of her, LaShawn and Michael were seated. On the left, Mildred sat closest to William while Wallace placed Morgan in between him and her grandmother. No one chose to sit at the other end of the table but they all pretended not to notice what this did to the balance of the dinner table; leaving the hostess chair vacant.
It wasn’t until the first course of the meal had been served, Pamela noticed Frederick’s absence. She wondered why he was choosing not to dine with them. Frederick always had a calculated reason for doing or not doing something, it didn’t matter what the job was. She tried to figure out why he was missing this meal, then she assumed perhaps his absence dealt with him seeding the news involving the senators marriage. Pamela considered this for a second. There were so many things that she and William had not discussed, due to them hastily getting married. She didn’t know where they would live or if she should keep her job in Wilmington. Then she imagined the impracticality of that idea. She recalled how difficult it had been during the past year, traveling back and forth to Washington or his place outside of Boston. Now that they were married, she would have to be the one to give up her job and her apartment. It had not taken long for her to make these conclusions. Even so, she knew later they would have to talk about these things.
As everyone sat silent, sipping their soup from large silver spoons; Pamela wondered what the dinner topics would be. She fished around in her brain, looking for the most recent events spanning the past week. While she did this, she felt William’s hand touch hers underneath the table. His warm powerful hands, tenderly held hers, then she heard William’s voice break into the sounds created by them eating.
“So...Michael... Do you think I can persuade you to do a little hunting with me on this trip?”
Michael’s eyes remained focused on the dish that had been placed in front of him. He repositioned the linen napkin that lay on his lap, then he picked up his soup spoon to sample his soup again. These meaningless gestures had been done to buy him the time that he needed to concoct a response. He had not expected William to be so bold, asking him such an outlandish question. So he wanted his response to hold the same degree of spunk and brazen audacity. When his eyes rose from his dish, he scanned the table first before directing his gaze on William at the head. He was assessing the other faces, determining how best to respond to William’s ridiculous question. Michael abhorred hunting and anything that was remotely related to the sport and William knew this. He wondered why a man that knew him so well would ask him a question he already knew the answer to. He jogged around his brain trying to find the words to respond but he didn’t find anything that would accurately relay his sentiment, without offending the ladies. Nonetheless he couldn’t linger, leaving the question unanswered, so he said the first thing that popped out. Even though he was unsure if he meant it.
“Sure...I’m game. There’s a first time for everything.”
Hearing her husbands response had caused LaShawn to choke on her water. Michael and Pamela quickly reacted by pounding on the center of her back, helping to force the liquid up and out of her airway. When her throat had cleared, William added.
“Not to worry LaShawn. I’ve been trying to get a gun in Michael’s hands for years. I’m finally getting my wish.”
LaShawn, frowned. She clearly did not think this was a good idea. These two mean had not reconciled their differences and loaded weapons were the last thing that they each needed in their hands.
“William, Michael has never held a gun. Are you sure you two should be out in the woods shooting things?”
There was something else implied in her words and without meaning to, her question held a comical lilt. She wondered if perhaps M
ichael would be the hunter and William would be the hunted. Images of a bunny with long ears being pursued by an outwitted hunter popped in her head. She wasn’t so sure which character either would be and she didn’t think it was wise to tempt fate or her husband.
Before William could answer, Wallace placed his spoon down to address LaShawn across the table.
“William is a good teacher. I taught him how to handled his first weapon, just like my father taught me. Don’t worry. Michael will be in good hands. As a matter of fact, maybe William and Michael should go out towards Beckards Point. The hunting on that part of the property is particularly great this time of the year.”
“If they go out that far, they’ll be forced to stay at the hunters cabin.” said Mildred. “Beckards Point is the outer most part of the property in that direction.”
All this talk about hunting and cabins wasn’t settling well with Pamela but she didn’t want to say anything at the dinner table. She would wait until later, choosing to talk to William in the privacy of their bedroom.
As the banter continued, it was clear that Michael would take on the challenge.
“I’m up for a hike if William is.” said Michael. All heads turned his way when he said this. Michael wasn’t a hunter but he did enjoy outdoor activities.
“Good... You’ll get to see first hand everything I’ve ever told you about this place. These mountains are the most beautiful in the country. I’m partial of course because I’ve been coming here since I was a young boy but I can say without a doubt, I love coming here. Even if I don’t go out hunting.”
