Luka’s smile spreads across his handsome face as he pulls her in for a breath-stopping hug.

“I wish I had met your friends last night. We should re-organise our dinner so that we can all meet.” Jess nods, tears in her eyes at the prospect that this lovely man wants to meet her friends and get to know them. He kisses her deep and full.

Jess leans into him and he starts to undo the buttons on the shirt. “Damn, look at you,” he exclaims, his voice husky. “Come here, Pinky.” He scrapes his chair back so that she is able to straddle him, and he pulls the shirt off completely; it falls to the floor behind her. He kisses her neck and upwards to her ear, nibbling her earlobe and sending shoots of passion into her core. Jess reaches down below his waistband and takes his cock; he’s rock hard, completely ready for her as she is for him, wet and slick. She lifts herself up and takes him in one go: he groans in pleasure as he enters her, and she gets a slow rhythm going to draw out the pleasure. He takes her breasts in his hands, gently massaging, tweaking her nipples and drawing sounds from her throat she barely thought were possible.

He takes her mouth in a demanding kiss that makes Jess see stars. Grabbing her ass and speeding up the rhythm, his cock is so big she feels every movement inside of her and it doesn’t take long for the explosion to begin deep within her womb before it starts travelling through her entire body. Luka is not far behind her and she feels his whole body shake with the intensity of his orgasm. As they cling to each other in his kitchen, silent, and peaceful. Jess hopes that she can keep her head together and she prays that Ade forgets she even exists.

  --!--

Luka needs to do some practice for another concert he has coming up on Friday. Jess pops back to her apartment to grab some clothes and her laptop so that she can watch him practice while she is job hunting. She picks up her phone while she is there having left it behind before the concert and notices that she has three voicemail messages. Katie has Luka’s number now so if she needed Jess urgently she could have called him. Frowning, Jess plays the first message.

Jessica, it’s me, Ade, it was so good to see you tonight, I was hoping we could talk. Will you call me?

Jess’ blood runs to ice. She instantly doesn’t want to acknowledge even to herself what she has heard. Last night was supposed to be the end of things and now here she is hearing his voice, on her phone, there is something very wrong with this picture.

She hesitantly plays the next message.

Jessica, it’s Ade, you haven’t called me back, I hate this silent treatment you are giving me, and watching you tonight I saw the beautiful woman I fell in love with and should never have let go of. Give me the opportunity to explain myself, you won’t regret it. Please, I really need to talk to you.

Jess felt an uneasy wave of nausea wash over her Why was he watching me? Her thoughts spiralling in an unhealthy way, getting out of control and she can feel tears piercing her eyes as the panic rises through her chest.

She, probably unwisely, plays the final message which was left just an hour ago.

Jessica, this is driving me mad, why won’t you call me back, I need to see you, to talk to you. I made a huge mistake letting you go, Jessica. I need to explain everything. I still love you. Please, after seeing you again, I must talk to you and get things sorted out, please call me.

Jessica’s head is spinning, What the fuck? What is he thinking? She knows that she can’t let Luka know about this, he will lose it. He already thinks Ade is a liability. She decides there and then that she is not going to respond or meet him. Ade is ancient history.

But she is terrified, shaking and feeling anxiety gripping her from all angles as she deletes the messages before picking up her things, locking up and going back to Luka’s apartment where he is deep in the flow of his rehearsal. As soon as their eyes meet Jess know that she is doing the right thing. She can tell that this man loves her, truly loves her, even though he doesn’t know if she loves him.

It doesn’t take long for him to take a break which is an excuse for him to take a few long strides over to where Jess is sitting and kiss her long and hard, the kind of kiss that takes your breath away and lifts your world.

“What was that for?” she asks him, and he shrugs, heading back to his cello.

“Can’t I kiss my girl?” He smirks at her his dimples, looking incredibly sexy and she smiles at him in response. This comfortable relationship they have established is terrifying; how do they maintain this when they are so early in their relationship?

It’s mid-afternoon and Jess is deep in job hunting, while Luka is deep in rehearsing, his music wrapping her in a blanket. Her phone flashes to say it’s ringing; she picks it up and it shows that Ade is calling.

“What?” Jess answers, short and sharp. Walking into Luka’s bedroom a comforting space being invaded by this man who has caused so much hurt in her life.

“Finally, I need to talk to you.”

“No.” Jess decides to take the don’t engage with the annoyance approach.

  “Jessica, talk to me.”

  “No.”

“Jessica, please, this is really important.”

“To you maybe. To me, it’s not important. You stopped being important to me a while ago.”

There is a pause, as though he doesn’t know what to say, he is digesting her words.

“I don’t know how to make you understand if you won’t listen to me.”

“Maybe I don’t want to understand, Ade. I’ve moved on with my life. You should do the same.”

He sighs, she imagines him rubbing his head in his hands, he did that a lot. His chestnut eyes looking distinctly puppy-like, making Jess glad he is not stood in front of her. He was a master at manipulating her with that look, making himself look like the emotionally wounded soldier, and Jess folded every time. Over the phone, it’s easier to stand her ground. Remain strong and know she is doing the right thing. For her.

“OK, Jessica. OK. For now, I won’t give up.” And the line goes dead.

“Seriously?!” she exclaims throwing her phone on the bed in frustration, then she feels arms wrapping around her waist and realise the music has stopped. Panic rises again, how much did he hear?

  “Everything OK?”

  Shit!

“It’s Ade. He decided to call me. But I gave him his marching orders he won’t be calling again.” She says without thinking, not sure why she told him that much nor why she didn’t tell him the whole truth knowing she is afraid he will get jealous and run away from the relationship they’ve just started.

He kisses her neck, and she arches her head opening to him.

“Do you want me to have a word with him?”

“No, I think it’s all sorted now, no point making things worse.” She says feeling the guilt eating her up.

“I’m here for you Jess, anything you need, don’t feel you have to sit on this or keep things quiet. I have your back in everything not just the good stuff.” Then he goes back to kissing her neck, slow, sensual, and Jess is lost to Luka for those few moments until he pulls away and goes back to his cello, leaving her alone with her thoughts and that damn phone with Ade on the other end.

Jess knows that she needs to do something about this Ade problem. She doesn’t think he is going to go away. The man is a stubborn fool and doesn’t give up on things because someone tells him to. He never has. She is not sure how to get rid of him, and she is sure if she is not careful he will cause untold trouble with Luka.

  Chapter Twelve

  Luka

Luka is concerned about Jess; she has been acting weird, and every time she looks at her phone she goes a very funny colour. When he asks what is wrong she says nothing, or she’s getting cold callers. People don’t look like that over either of those things, could it be that her ex is still pestering her if so, why isn’t she talking to him about it? Does she still have feel
ings for him? Luka is worried he is scaring her off and now he is going to get hurt - he should never have let his feelings get so caught up in this. He should have continued protecting himself and kept things casual between them.

“Pinky, do you want to get ready for dinner?”

She looks at him, surprise on her beautiful face. “Are we going out?”

He walks over to the seat she has claimed as hers since they started spending time together, leans over to kiss her nose affectionately and nods.

“I had something else in mind,” she whispers, reaching her arms around his neck and starting to sexily nibble on his earlobe.

“I’m sure we can do both,” he says, realising his voice is doing that gravelly thing she seems to bring out.

He lifts her up and carries her to the bedroom, gently laying her on the crisp black sheets. Lifting the jersey dress she’s wearing, off over her head, he pins her arms above her head and takes his time licking and kissing her neck, her breasts, her stomach. Jess squirms and moans underneath him, begging to be released, wanting to return his touch and feel him back, but he keeps her held firm, releasing her only to remove her bra and to stretch into a drawer next to the bed and pull out the blindfold he had used a few days ago. Today he uses it to gently wrap her wrists and tie them to the headboard so that his hands are free to roam. Whispering in her ear, “I told you we would do that bondage thing another time,” she pants and smiles then lifts her face up, demanding a kiss that Luka can’t refuse.

Taking her breasts fully in his mouth and biting at her nipples, he makes her groan deep in her throat. When he removes her panties and presses his fingers to her clit she is already wet, and she convulses at his touch. He smiles, a wicked smile knowing she is at his mercy. He gently rubs her, bringing her close to orgasm, then goes down and uses his tongue, gently moving it around to keep her on the edge of climax not allowing her to fall over the edge. When her body is sweating and shaking with need his hands on her ass he delves his tongue deep inside her folds, fucking her with his mouth and ensuring there is no way she doesn’t feel every fibre of his being. As he massages her in and out, his finger taking her clit as his tongue works her inside, she falls apart in his hands; her whole body erupts like a volcano and Luka watches with delight.

Once her orgasm has passed he takes his cock, which is throbbing and aching with need, and he enters her, hard and deep, pausing once he’s filled her, enjoying the way she feels around him.

“Was this the something different you had in mind?” he murmurs in her ear.

“You’ve far outdone my thoughts, Luka,” she replies, “but I really want to touch you.”

He chuckles and reaches up and releases her arms, which she immediately wraps around his neck pulling herself towards him for a long slow kiss while he pumps deep. Jess adjusts her hips to bring them both more pleasure and Luka groans, putting his head on her breasts.

As they both reach a violent climax at the same time her nails scrape down his back; she screams, and his teeth are clamped on her breast. Even better than what they’ve accomplished together before they silently collapse into each other’s arms before heading to the shower in a satiated trance.

  --!--

Less than an hour later they are walking through Queen Square towards the Riverstation for dinner holding hands and laughing.

“I think that was quite an accomplishment,” Jess teases.

“What do you mean?” Luka throws back at her, snaking his arm over her shoulder and pulling her to his side.

“We managed to have the most mind-blowing sex I’ve ever had, shower, and still get out to eat at a civilised time.” And then she laughs, a nervous laugh, clearly uncomfortable with having admitted her enjoyment of their sex so honestly.

“That’s only because I have excellent timekeeping abilities. You notice I kept control of the sex, so you couldn’t drag it out all night?” Luka teases her, and she nudges him in the ribs. He groans and doubles over in faux pain making her laugh even harder.

At the Riverstation, they are seated in a quiet corner where the server takes their order quickly and Luka decides to broach the subject he has been wanting to tackle with her.

“Pinky, is everything OK?” He decides to start general and hopes she spills the beans.

“Yes, of course,” she says, while her face looks worried. It’s clear there is something she doesn’t want to talk about.

“Are you sure? Because you’ve been a bit distant this weekend, well, since your birthday. I’m worried I rushed things between us, that you weren’t ready.”

“NO!” She reaches for his hands, taking one in each of hers and squeezing them. “I was so ready, and you make me so happy.” She looks pensive and unsure of herself: she’s saying the right things, and Luka is completely stumped about what is going on.

“But there is something bothering you, isn’t there?” he digs.

“No, I’m absolutely fine, and I’m so happy, happier than I’ve been in as long as I can remember.” She smiles at him, but again it’s not reaching her eyes. Why won’t she tell him?

“But whenever your phone rings, you have a heart attack.”

“I’m having some trouble with cold callers, it’s annoying me. I will get it sorted.” How many times and ways is it possible for him to ask and get the same answer?

“Has Ade called you again? Has he become more of a pest than you expected? I can tell something is bothering you, Pinky, and it’s driving me crazy not being able to help you.” Luka has one last-ditch attempt at getting to the bottom of things.

Jess sighs, looks at the table, then she looks him in the eye. This is it, he thinks. Of course.

“Yes, he has called me again, I didn’t want to bother you with it. He’s being an annoyance and will go away when he knows he’s getting nowhere. It’s just getting to me more than it should, bringing up old wounds I would rather were left alone,” she says, a single tear running down her face.

“I wish you had told me. I could have helped, we could have talked,” he responds, wiping away the lone tear.

“I know, and I’m sorry. I didn’t want to burden you with my issues.”

“In the future, tell me, and we will deal with these things together.” He looks at her trying to keep eye contact. Her face is pained and uncertain, her eyes flicking around the room.

“Now I’ll ask again, do you want me to speak to him?” Luka squeezes her hands and Jess shakes her head

“Not right now, I have got this under control, it’s just eating at me. I’m sorry I didn’t say something sooner.”

“It’s OK, but try to trust me, I want to be here for you” Luka kisses her fingers making her giggle.

As their food arrives, she looks at him and says; “Your concert on Friday, can I come?” A blush rises on her cheeks and she looks so adorable, there is no way he will refuse this woman anything.

“It’s in London, and yes, you can absolutely come if you want to. I would love to have you there.”

“I would love that, Luka. Seeing you play is my new favourite hobby.” With that, she giggles and takes the hugest bite of steak humanly possible.

After dinner, Luka persuades her that they should do something fun, so they go bowling. It turns out Jess is a champion bowler and Luka is completely humiliated. As his balls run down the gutter or, if he’s lucky, hit two or three pins, Jess throws these perfect balls which end in strikes each time. He has no hope of looking good competing with this girl.

“You could have warned me you were a professional when I suggested bowling,” he quips at her after her fourth strike in a row. She responds with a curtsy and by pecking him on the cheek.

“I’m sorry, am I hurting your male ego there?” she laughs at him before skipping off to grab her bottle of beer.

“No, only my ego in general,” he laughs back at her. She sits on h
is knee, twisting her head to kiss his forehead.

“I’ll make it up to you later,” she promises, her voice low and throaty, her eyes piercing through to his soul.

“I will hold you to that,” Luka says, kissing her lips, as he lifts her onto the bench so that he can go take his turn, which ends with his ball in the gutter.

“You realise you don’t hold the ball correctly,” she tells him.

“I’ve heard,” he says, laughing. He grabs his beer, taking a mouthful before she comes up behind him pressing her body against his back, pushing her arm along his and showing him how he should place his hands on the ball. All thoughts of bowling falling out of his head at the feel of her body pressed against his.

“You know, if you want to stay like this all night I can do that,” he says, and she taps his butt with her hand.

“Behave, you’re supposed to be learning.” Easy for her to say, she doesn’t have her sexy body pressed up against her back.

“Get a room you two!” comes a cheeky cry from behind and they turn around and see Katie and Jay striding across towards them! Jess releases Luka and jumps into Katie’s arms. The girls are squealing and jumping around as if they haven’t seen each other for a year. Jay steps around them and shakes Luka’s hands.

“Hey, great to see you, so I guess we had the same idea for this evening, then.” Jay’s smile is genuine and friendly.

“Yeah, it looks like it, do you guys want to join us?” Luka responds nodding towards the lane. Jay nods.

“I don’t think these two will give us a choice anyway,” Jay laughs.

“Luka, it’s so good to finally meet you.” Katie rushes over and hugs Luka as though they are old friends.

“Yes, erm, it’s great to meet you, too.”

Katie disengages and steps back taking Luka in. “You’re making my best friend very happy, keep that up please.”

She’s a beautiful girl with a happy go lucky demeanour, it’s obvious that she is the kind who has a spitfire temper. Luka is very pleased to not be on the receiving end of that temper.
