Javier gave her a lingering kiss on the neck. “More to grab.”

“Stop,” Jazmine moaned. “I can’t be late for work again.”

“Okay… I thought you had a doctor’s appointment?” He pinched her ass cheek before trying to help her pull her zipper up, but it didn’t budge.

“I do, later today.” She watched his reflection in the mirror.

He tried one more time, “Jazz, you need to find another skirt.” He stared at her image.

She sighed. “This is the third one that doesn’t fit. I shouldn’t have eaten so much for Thanksgiving.”

“Your mom may not like me, but she’s a good cook.” He kissed her on the cheek. “I don’t think one day would make a difference.”

Jazmine rolled her eyes at him.

Javier put his arm around her waist and stared at their likeness in the closet doors. “They make a cute couple. Those two people.” He pointed at the mirror. “We have defeated the odds.”

She turned in his arms. “We have, but right now I can’t find a damn skirt that fits.” She pulled away and shoved the closet door open.

He just stared at her. Lately her moods were everywhere; one minute she was happy and the next she was mad. “Babe, wear a pants suit or a dress.”

“You don’t understand.” She continued searching for clothes. “This shirt goes with a skirt.”

He looked at the shirt she had on, it was a plain black shirt. She could wear it with pants, but whatever. “Okay.”

Jazmine turned and place her hand on her hip. “Am I getting fat?”

Javier thought about the question for a few seconds, should he tell a white lie or the truth? He decided with the last. “Well…”

She arched a brow. “Tell me the truth.”

  “You’ve gained a few pounds.”

“What!” She pulled down the skirt she had on and threw it at him. “So now I’m fat!”

“Jazz, I didn’t say you were fat, I said you’ve gained a few pounds, but I like it.” He tried to save himself.

“Whatever, Javier.” She marched to the bathroom and slammed the door.

Javier stood there watching the shut door. What the hell just happened? He thought. Maybe it’s PMS.

  ***

Jazmine was at the morning meeting, but her mind was on her husband. Javier looked handsome in his Navy working uniform when he left for work. He still made her heart flutter, the way he looked at her like she was the only woman he desired. Jazmine’s pussy tingled thinking about the things Javier did to her body. A small moaned escaped her mouth. She glanced around at the other attendants around the table, thankfully no one had heard her, or so she thought. She was horny, she sighed.

As soon as the meeting was over, she went to her office. Jazmine sat behind her desk, picked up the phone, and dialed Javier’s number.

  “Chief Martinez.”

  “Hello, Chief Martinez,” she chuckled.

  “Hey, babe.” He sounded dry.

  “What’s wrong, you’re not happy it’s me?”

“Of course, but I wasn’t sure if you were still mad at me.”

She smiled and started playing with the phone cord, twirling it with her fingers. “I’m not mad, baby, you were being honest. I apologize for my behavior.”

“What’s up?” Now he sounded like himself.

“You have something that I need. Can you meet me for lunch in my office?” All she wanted was a quickie; damn she was already getting wet thinking of his dick.

  “What is it?”

“You’ll see when you get here, please.”

“Okay, babe, I’ll see you around noon. Do you need me to bring lunch?”

“Yes, can you bring me a medium onion rings, and a banana milkshake?” She was starving and it wasn’t even ten o’clock.

“Banana, I thought your favorite was vanilla?”

“I know, but I’m craving a banana milkshake from that ice cream shop on base.”

He laughed. “Okay, see you in a bit.”

“I love you,” She gazed out of the window.

  “I love you, too.”

  ***

Javier didn’t knock, he just strolled into Jazmine’s office. She was standing next to the window, and she looked like she was lost in thought. He smiled, she had on a mid-thigh, black, sleeveless dress and black pumps. He placed their drinks and the brown bag with food on her side table.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Javier startled her, making slightly jump.

She stared at him, and her lips curled up, showing off her pearly, white teeth. Jazmine rushed over to him, and then kissed his lips. “Hmm, I need this,” she said against his mouth. She slipped her tongue past his teeth and practically forced him to play tug of war with her, making him chuckle. He tasted the mintiness of her mouthwash and stroked her with his tongue, mimicking what he wanted to do with his cock.

Jazmine urged him backward until he hit the door with a thump; she leaned away to catch her breath and reached behind him to lock the door.

Javier cupped her face, panting. “Baby, don’t start something we can’t finish. I can’t go out there with this.” He pointed at his erection.

Jazmine brushed her hand over his bulge. “Oh, we are going to finish it.” She unbuttoned his pants and placed her hand into his crotch to stroke him.

Her soft palm moved up and down his cock, and his rod jerked in her hand. Fuck he wanted her now. “Jazmine,” his voice came out husky.

“Javier, I’ve been horny since I saw you this morning in this fine uniform.” She used his pre-cum as a lubricant. “I’m wet, and I want you, now.” Jazmine pulled her hand out of his pants. Rapidly, she slid her panties down her thighs and over her calves to tug them off. She strolled toward her desk, and then tossed them in the drawer. Jazmine moved over to the window and pulled up her dress, exposing her ass.

Javier was lost for words, studying her with a hungry gaze. He didn’t know what was up with Jazmine, but he loved it. It was out of character for her, but she stood there, arching her back with her hands flat on the window.

“What are you waiting for?” She wiggled her ass, making it clap for him. “You don’t want this?” She chuckled.

“Fuck, yeah.” He stalked toward her, easing his pants over lean thighs as he moved. Javier stopped long enough to whip them over his feet.

“Then come and get it.” She winked.

Javier was standing behind her in less than a second. He rubbed his cock between the crack of her ass. “Hmmm, I don’t know what’s come over you, but I love it.”

“Hurry up, Papi, my pussy is so wet.” She opened her labia.

He spread her ass cheeks and slipped his fingers into her channel. “Fuck, baby, you weren’t kidding.”

  “Stop teasing me,” she whimpered.

In one move Javier was deep in her passage, he covered her hands with his and pressed her body against the widow. Her mouth was agape, and little sounds escaped through her luscious lips. Javier kissed her neck, biting on her collarbone. “Jazz,” he moaned in her ear. “You’re so wet.” His strokes were slow and long; he wanted to savor the moment. With so much cream coating his cock, he easily slid in and out of her core.

“Oh God, yes … more…” Jazmine pounded her fist on the glass. “Faster…”

Javier knew if he went any faster, he would cum within a minute.

Jazmine had a mind of her own, and her hips moved to his rhythm, but then she rocked back faster. She bowed her back and moved down. “Harder…”

“If that’s … what you … want…” Javier gripped her hips and began pounding into her with no mercy.

“Yes … more, more…” she wailed.

The sound of their bodies slapping against each other echoed around the room.

Javier placed his hand on her back and pulled her away from the window, bending her over a little more. He watched his cock as he thrust in and out of her core. His balls tightened, but he needed Jazmine to cum first. He bent his kne
es and circled her body with his hand. Pinching her clit with his fingers, he alternated and caressed her nub too. Jazmine’s body began to tremble.

“Javier…” she moaned between gritted teeth. He knew she was trying to keep quite. Her pussy squeezed his cock as her orgasm strummed through her.

The contractions of her pussy took him over the edge. He gripped her hips with force and growled as he came. They didn’t move for several minutes; Jazmine straightened up, and his cock slid out.

She danced out of his embrace, sashayed to her desk, picked up a couple of Kleenex from the box, and cleaned up. She opened the top drawer, pulled out her panties, and slid them back on. Jazmine turned and handed him a few napkins.

“Girl, I love you.” He took them from her and wiped himself off. He strolled to the door, picked up his pants, and pulled them on.

Javier grabbed their lunch and drinks and then sat in the chair in front of her desk. Jazmine took the seat behind it, still trying to gain her composer. “I needed that.” She gazed at him.

“Me, too.” He passed over the milkshake.

Jazmine took a big gulp and closed her eyes. “Mmm, that’s so freaking good.”

Javier’s eyebrows met. “Damn, baby, you seemed more satisfied with the milkshake than with me.”

She laughed. “Never, no one or nothing can satisfy me more than you.”

“Good to know.” He took a bite of his burger. Jazmine ate her onion rings in less than five minutes.

He studied her; something was up. Her mood swings, sexual appetite, weight gain, if he didn’t know better, he would think she was pregnant. But that couldn’t be the case, so the next best thing, PMS.

“What’s up with you?” He placed his food down.

“What do you mean?” She cleaned her mouth and hands with a napkin.

“I mean you’re different. It’s not a bad thing.” He shook his head. “Are you about to get your period?”

Jazmine gazed at him and chuckled in amusement. “Yes, you know me so well.”

He stared at her. He did know her, and that’s why he knew there was more, but he’d leave it alone for now. “When’s your doctor’s appointment?”

She glanced at her watch. “In two hours.”

“You want me to come along?” He took the last bite.

“Nope, it’s just the results of the tests they did for my physical. It’s a routine checkup.” She entwined her finger and leaned forward. “Nothing is wrong with me, Javy. I’m just getting older, and my body is changing.”

“Okay.” Javier stood and threw the bag and empty drink into the side trash. “I have to go back to work.” He strolled over to her, bent down, and kissed her soft lips. “Thank you for that delightful surprise.”

  ***

Jazmine developed goose bumps sitting in the cold room, waiting for the doctor. She couldn’t get Javier out her mind; her body still tingled for him. What’s wrong with me?

Someone knocked on the door and pushed in. “Good afternoon, Mrs. O’Neal. I’m Lt. Wright.” The woman in the lab coat introduced herself.

Jazmine shook LT. Wright’s hand. “Hi.”

She looked over her records. “Jazmine, is it okay if I call you that?”

  “Yes.”

“Okay, you’re results are all negative but one, and your cholesterol is a bit high, but it’s not a concern at the moment.”

Jazmine stopped hearing everything she said after she’d dropped the, but one. “What was positive? Do I have something?” She was nervous.

“No, I was getting to that.” LT. Wright smiled. “Jazmine, have you noticed anything different about your body; mood swings, gaining weight, morning sickness?”

Jazmine arched he brow. “I’ve been eating more, and yes I did notice that I’ve snapped at my husband a lot lately, but I contributed that to my oncoming period.”

“When was your last menstrual cycle?”

Where was this going? Jazmine thought. “I should be getting my period any day now. I have all the symptoms; my breasts hurt, I’m cramping, and my sexual appetite has been crazy, to say the least, I want it all the time.” She blushed.

“Jazmine, don’t ever be ashamed with me.” She passed her a piece of paper. “The reason why you’re experiencing all those symptoms is not because of your period, you’re pregnant.”

Jazmine looked at the paper and then at the doctor. “Excuse me?”

  “You’re pregnant.” The doctor repeated.

Jazmine almost fell out of her chair. “That’s impossible.”

  “Why?”

“My husband is sterile, he can’t have kids. Are you sure you didn’t make a mistake?” Jazmine was now shaking nervously.

“Jazmine, I can assure you the test is accurate, but if you want we can take another one.”

Jazmine sat in shock, reading the paper.

“And unless you’ve been with anyone but your husband, he is not sterile.” LT. Wright clicked the computer to life.

“But they told him he couldn’t have kids,” her voice rattled.

“I recommend that he comes in, and I will order some lab work. Whomever told him that gave him a wrong diagnosis.” She typed. “What’s his social? I can’t give you information on him, but I can see.”

Jazmine rattled off his social, and LT. Wright began keying in the numbers. “Yes, I do see it, but I need him to come see me.”

“Oh God, I’m pregnant.” A single tear rolled down her eye.

LT. Wright smiled. “It’s a miracle. Go tell your husband the good news, and if he has any questions, tell him to come see me.”

Jazmine stood still in shock; she was pregnant. Javier was going to be a father—their baby—she couldn’t stop smiling. “Thank you, LT. Wright. Have a nice day.” She turned, opened the door, and rushed out to plan a wonderful evening.

  Chapter Thirty-Six

Javier opened the front door, exhausted. It was a long day at work, an essential network crashed, and it took his team three hours to fix it. Chief Mitchell was a great help, but after the incident at the karaoke bar, they’d stayed away from each other, only speaking when necessary. Shirley was transferred to another command on the same base. Some days he missed his friends, but his wife and son were all he needed. Like always, he smiled when the aroma of homemade food hit his senses.

Fortunate, by Maxwell, was playing. He’d made love to Jazmine to this song, even sang it to her. Javier examined his surroundings, something was different in the living room, and the Christmas tree was lit with bright pink bulbs. When he left this morning the ornaments were red and white, and now they were blue and pink. Jazmine even changed the color of the wrapper on the gifts. He shook his head, he knew he wasn’t crazy.

Javier strolled into the dining room, and again, it was decorated in pink and blue with balloons tied to his chair. Jazmine had set up the table with pink and blue mats, and on the table there was a baby blue gift bag. Nicky was seated in his high chair, eating Cheerios. When he looked up and saw Javier, he began clapping.

“Daddy … yummy … yummy.” He lifted a Cheerio up, and then dropped it in his mouth.

Javier strolled over to his son, picked him up, and nuzzled his cheeks. “How was your day?” He tickled him, and Nicky giggled. She must have had the song on repeat, because it played again. “What’s your mommy up to?” They entered the kitchen.

Jazmine was stirring something in a pot on the stove; she seemed so deep in thought. He wondered what was bothering her, and he didn’t want to startle her while she was over the stove. They’d come so far, and he was happy. He never thought he could be so content. Then Jazmine dropped from heaven and had accepted his shortcomings.

  “Mama…” Nicky chanted, “Mama…”

Jazmine turned, and her lips lifted up at the corners as soon as she saw him. “You’re home. I thought you were coming home later.”

“Malcolm helped out.” He moved closer to her. “What’s for dinner?”

  “Arroz con gandules
y pollo.” She covered the pot. “Your mom gave me the recipe.”

“Let me taste.” He took the spoon out of her hand.

He took a big bite of the rice and pigeon peas and tried it. To his surprise, it tasted good. “Mmm, this is delicious.”

“You sound surprised.” She smirked. “I’m a fabulous cook.”

“I know, but Hispanic food is different.” Javier put Nicky on the floor. “Right Nick?”

Nicky ran out of the kitchen.

Javier grabbed Jazmine by the waist and pulled her closer. “What’s up? Did I forget something?”

“No, I just wanted to prepare your favorites,” she answered, not looking in his eyes. That was odd.

“What’s up with all the pink and blue stuff? You changed the Christmas tree, table, and what’s in the gift bag?”

She moved out of his arms. “I wanted to wait until dinner, but I’m too excited.” She squealed, left the kitchen, and returned with the gift bag in her hands. “I was going to wait until Christmas.”

He sat on the stool, gazing at her.

“I can wait three more weeks.” He observed the bag. What could it be?

“I can’t … open it.” She handed it to him and leaned on his lap.

Javier grabbed it, opened the top, and pulled out two baby rattles, one blue and the other pink. He arched an eyebrow. What the hell?

Jazmine smile grew. “Aren’t you happy?”

“About?” He stared at the rattles. “Jazz…” He looked at her face, and then at the rattles. Then, he glanced over his shoulder at the table, Christmas tree, and listened to the ending of the song that was playing. No, it couldn’t be. “What are you saying?” he asked in a stern voice.

  “I’m pregnant!”

Javier stared at her. She didn’t just say what he thought she’d said.

  “Javy?”

Javier was in shock, gently pushing her off his lap. He stood. “That’s impossible.”

“It’s possible, because I’m proof.” Jazmine sounded hurt.
