P: I’m going to miss you so much, Stardust.
S: Do you really have to go home to the human world? Can’t you stay on Chevalia?
P: It’s so tempting, but I love my family and, even though they’re not missing me because of the time bubble, the truth is that I miss them.
S: I understand – I’d miss my family too.
TI: What will you do back in the human world, Pippa? It’s such a mystery to us Chevalia ponies.
P: Well, we’ll still be on holiday when I return, which I’m really looking forward to, and soon after that it’s back to school.
S: Won’t you miss the excitement of Chevalia?
P: Of course I will, but Chevalia will always be in my heart and in my memories. Besides, everything can be an adventure.
S: That’s so true – and I hope I have an adventure every single day!
TI: Then that will give me a lot to report on!
And with that, Stardust tugged Pippa on to the dance floor for the first dance of the Midsummer Ball, leaving this young reporter to reflect on the incredibly eventful week. The week in which our beautiful island was saved, and the Royal Ponies made friends with the once mysterious, and long misunderstood, Volcano ponies.
is delighted to reproduce this special letter from Pippa, received via the seahorses.
Dear Ponies of Chevalia
I’m writing this letter on the big wooden table in our holiday cottage and I plan to give it to Triton and Rosella to deliver before we drive back to Burlington Terrace.
It’s hard to believe I’ve been back with my family for a whole week. In my heart it feels like I haven’t left Chevalia at all.
As soon as Stardust and Cloud dropped me off at the beach, I heard Mum calling me for lunch. We had a delicious picnic on the sand with my sister Miranda and my little brother, Jack. While we were eating I had the most wonderful surprise – Mum told me she was going to treat me to riding lessons! Every day for the past week, I had lessons with an amazing pony called Snowdrop – the pony from my dreams!
Mrs Woods, the lady who runs the riding school, encouraged us to learn eventing. Together Snowdrop and I tried dressage, cross-country and showjumping. Snowdrop and I were such a perfect match that Mrs Woods said I should return to train with Snowdrop in my next school holiday. I do hope Mum agrees! Perhaps I could visit Chevalia too? Please cross your hooves for me!
Now it’ s time to return to our house, to school and to normal life . . . I miss you all so much, especially Princess Stardust. To Chevalia!
Your friend
