Pursuit of the Zodiacs Page 32

by Walsh, Nathan

Lucille saw Vetrius. “Shit, he’s still alive. I have to make it back to the base.”

A sliding door opened on the asteroid she found cover on. She uncovered the real mystery behind the sudden movements of these asteroids. By her analysis, there must be well over a thousand soldiers stationed inside most of these asteroids. She had to inform Headquarters. As the occupant investigated the loud thumping noise on his craft, Lucille surprised him with a laser blast through his chest. He tumbled down the stairs and back into his asteroid. Lucille retreated, jumping off the meteor hoping to avoid detection. The rocket on her suit worked. She set it to full blast and aimed herself at the base. At that moment, Vetrius spotted her and sent a flurry of asteroids in her direction. With the bridge in sight, she maneuvered past space debris, steering to her target landing. Her feet touched the floor and she landed hard on her stomach. She desperately got up while fighting for the air she’d just lost. She hit a release latch to free herself from the heavy rocket pack. Lucille had only seconds to run and make it to the evacuation ships inside Headquarters. She didn’t look back to see if Vetrius pursued, or if more asteroids headed her way. The vibrations of the asteroids pelting the bridge motivated her to run faster. She heard a roaring crash as the bridge gave way. Still, she didn’t look back. Her only focus was on the door ahead of her that some of her fellow mercenaries had just opened to allow her in.

She yelled as she removed her helmet, desperately trying to catch her breath. “The base is lost. Vetrius has destroyed most of our war fleet. Those asteroids are not what you think! The majority of them are enemy craft cleverly disguised as asteroids. There must be over tens of thousands of Super Soldiers within them. We must evacuate at once!”

Noah refused. “No! I will not lose this fucking base! How would it look? The Children of Sirius will not prevail! I’ve already given word to the other Representatives. Millions of craft have been dispatched!”

Lucille said, “This place will be in ruins before they make it here. You know that, Noah!”

Meanwhile Vetrius landed his meteors on the surface of the Star Base. As Lucille warned, thousands of Super Soldiers from Sirius exited the meteors through automatic sliding doors.

Noah’s Dark Graduates, consisting of Reptilians, Super Humans and other Alien Classes exchanged laser fire with Vetrius’s fleet.

Noah yelled out, “They’ve landed! The asteroids are no longer a threat to us. It’s time to show them how much of a bad fucking idea this was!”

Lucille, being half Reptilian and half Super Human, disagreed with Noah’s orders. She believed that Noah’s ego clouded his judgment and put everyone at risk. Due to her allegiance to the Dark Graduates, survival had to be top priority, and she took it upon herself to yell out her own command in contest to Noah’s. “We are being overrun! Aid from the other Representatives will not be here in time. They will kill us all! We must evacuate everyone!”

Noah objected, “You dare defy my orders in front of my GIs?” He ordered his soldiers to seize and execute her in the ship’s punishment hall.

The command shocked Lucille. “What the fuck! Noah, you bastard!”

Two reptilians approached. She drew her Super Ray Sword and cut them in half. Her path clear, she ran into the hall. Noah ordered more of his soldiers after her. “Don’t let her escape! Make sure she is executed. She’s a traitor to the Dark Graduates!”

Marked for death from both sides, she focused on escaping her own colleagues … colleagues to whom she had sworn allegiance, and also from the vengeance of Vetrius and the Children of Sirius.

  Chapter 27

  ENVY OF DEATH

“One’s envy can be a terrible thing.”

  – DYNAMO

“Place his head nice and high for all to see.”

Following orders, Lucifer’s disciples placed Pharisees head high on a spear as a warning to all travelers of this Dimension. Also as ordered, every ligament came with a note pinned to it saying, “Death To All Pursuers.” They placed his limbs and many other body parts before every Dimension they could find until no more large bits of Pharisees remained.

“Hmm, I must admit his roasted corpse smells delicious,” said one of the Devils while pinning one of the notes to Pharisees’ forehead.

Another Devil said, “Don’t be a fool. We’ve been given strict orders not to sample. But I must admit, you are right, Lucifer did a number on this one. I guess no one would notice if we had just a little taste.”

They feasted on Pharisees’ burnt arm. After taking in all he could bear, Abdeen initiated the attack. Timius, Simeon, Irisan and Cancer chased two colossal-sized Demons into the swamps of the Dimension, where they were slaughtered and drowned. Everyone else took his or her fair share of Lucifer’s subordinates. More Devils appeared to aid their fallen comrades, but when they saw the forces arrayed against them, they wisely fled.

They gave Pharisees a decent burial and placed the heads of the Devils they’d just slain onto spears. The Pursuers continued their travel through the Underworlds to Rome.

“Their numbers were great. I wonder where they were heading before our confrontation,” Adam asked.

Natenal said, “You’re right. I feel something has happened.”

“Here! Got him!” Ozias caught one of the Devils watching them through a hedgerow of bushes.

Natenal ordered, “Keep him alive. I believe he’ll answer all of our inquiries.”

First, though, they beat and tortured the Devil into submission, persuading it to tell them everything. The news they received raised more questions than answers.

Abdeel held the Demon by its throat. “Lucifer and Bishop have formed an alliance? This cannot be true, Devil. It is all lies!”

The Demon stated the exact location where the meeting would take place. The Devil added, “You’ll all die. Join us, and maybe we’ll spare your lives. We need someone to prepare our meals, clean out the slop and latrines.” The bruised Demon struggled to laugh.

Natenal had had enough. “Abdeen and Abdeel, take this Demon further out and execute it out of my sight.”

Abdeen and Abdeel dragged him from the meeting while Natenal and the other Pursuers went over strategies.

Levi said, “We’re within range of enemy satellites. We cannot radio this critical news in. One of us must forward the Demon’s words to our Father. It’s vitally important he know what our enemy is planning.”

Zodeen added, “Sabrina has already gone, but she lacks the crucial information the Demon has just told us.”

“Aargghh!” They heard the Demon’s death cry as Abdeen and Abdeel carried out their duty.

Natenal said, “The final war is upon us. Which of you will deliver this message to our Father? This will indeed be one of the most important assignments yet. It must be your sole obligation even if it means certain death. I need two volunteers.”

Grenad and Ozias both stepped forward.

“Thank you for stepping forward. May God be with you both. As of now, you forfeit from this mission. I need this message delivered,” Natenal ordered.

Natenal took a blank Scroll and wrote out the Demon’s testimony, rolled it up, and sealed it with his indicia.

As Natenal handed the Scroll to Grenad and Ozias, Abdeel and Abdeen returned in time to bid their Brethren farewell.

“Make sure you come back with the mightiest army that anyone has ever witnessed. God willing, we will meet you two on that same battlefield for the final war,” Abdeen shouted as they treaded towards a discrete Dimension.

Dracuul traveled back in time with two special guests, Daniel and Goliath. Fidor and Dynamo, along with the rest of the natives, awaited their arrival in the hall. They entered the big hall of Dracuul’s fortress, and everyone looked on in astonishment at how Dracuul had been able to turn two Archangels of God into Vampeers. Thrilled and motivated, the women smiled and flirted as they passed. While reaching out to touch the wings of their new acquaintances, the guards halted the continual advances of th
e native women. Dracuul reached his throne and gave Daniel and Goliath a proper introduction.

“Look how he praises these two,” Fidor said quietly to Dynamo.

Dynamo whispered back, “One’s envy can be a terrible thing, Fidor. It would be wise to be more careful with your words.”

Fidor said, “Ever since his return, his mouth refuses to shut over these two, and they’ve done nothing for him. What’s going to happen when their kind comes in search of them? Death upon us all, that’s the only outcome I see in this.”

Dynamo said, “You could be right. But it seems that he’s made his decision, and nothing is going to change his mind.”

Dracuul sat on his throne with his new accomplices surrounding him. “Fidor and Dynamo, will you please grab me a few empty Scrolls off those shelves? I have to relay an important message to some Councilmen who owe me a few favors.”

Fidor gave Dynamo a repulsive look and followed Dracuul’s order.

The day was filled with celebration. Fireworks erupted as they welcomed a rising Blood Moon. There was singing, dancing, games, food, and even blood wine to compliment the celebratory scene. As ordered by their Vampeer Host, Daniel and Goliath lay amongst the Vampeer women from Dracuul’s bloodline. They celebrated further as Daniel and Goliath thrust themselves into the Vampeer women, immobile against their Host’s supremacy. Dracuul, so obsessed with creating a new Super Vampeer Race, he watched them procreate while sipping his blood wine to ensure nothing ruined his agenda. He sent for five Virgins. They would serve as the final ingredient to his ultimate plan.

Again, Fidor whispered defiantly to Dynamo. “He is out of his gourd. At least have the decency to give your lab animals some privacy. He even includes his own bloodline in this abomination.”

Dynamo replied, “Fidor, let us leave before he hears word and you get us both killed.”

During Dracuul’s dominion over the two Pursuers, he took them to distant Dimensions and Galaxies to test their true power. Goliath’s gift demonstrated the most influence. The nest on his back contained a rare species of Super Mosquitoes, hybrids, due to the mix of Angel and Vampeer blood. They were unleashed upon the animals of the land, creating more hybrid monsters. His Super Mosquitoes could destroy entire Worlds if put to ill use.

“See, my friends? It’s all in the blood.” Dracuul, pleased at what he saw, confirmed with his audience. And the natives called them Corvesh, in the tongue of the Vampeers, meaning Conquerors, due to their blood manipulation abilities.

At midnight, the city slept. A special group of hitmen moved silently under the supervision of the Moon. Daniel, Goliath, Dracuul, Dynamo and Fidor treaded towards Victoria’s Kingdom. Daniel and Goliath had completed their training, and confidence in his newly engineered comrades motivated this secret assignment. He couldn’t risk war, so he went in search of settling his dispute in private.

They arrived. The Scrolls Dracuul sent out had weight. They saw no guards posted at the gates. Someone else shared differences with Queen Victoria. They simply walked right in. On their own, Goliath snapped the neck of two Vampeers and punctured their hearts. Daniel chopped off a head while Dracuul, Fidor, and Dynamo scanned the perimeter.

“This is madness,” Fidor said to himself. “We’re killing our own and risking our lives for what gain?”

Their stealth run expired. From her balcony Victoria spoke, “Did you think you and your little genetically engineered pests were going to just prance in here undetected, Dracuul? What are those? More abominations from your pathetic science lab?”

It turned out that everyone had had enough of Dracuul. Their blood reeked of betrayal. The same individuals he’d sent Scrolls to showed themselves with assured grins, confident Dracuul would not leave there alive.

Victoria set fire to those same Scrolls right in front of Dracuul. Fidor looked at Dynamo to justify his hidden argument. They could hear the gate close behind them along with the appearance of more rival Vampeers. Looking down at her intruders, Victoria could not help but smile while standing next to her most expert killers.

Victoria continued, “This most certainly wasn’t a friendly visit, so I will make sure your departure isn’t a pleasant one. Any last words before I send you and your men somewhere you will fit right in?”

Dracuul answered, “One day I will die. But not today, bitch. You’ll know what awaits us after death before I do, I assure you!”

Victoria replied, “I’ve looked at your pathetic face long enough.” She gave her followers closing orders. “Kill him and his unfortunates.”

She headed back to her chambers. The individuals who had betrayed him also left the hall. The melee began. Daniel initiated the fight, unleashing a paralyzing torrent of wind, sending dozens down the halls. With some room to build, Dracuul flew, decapitating heads with his Blood Lust sword. The special blade caught the blood of his victims and transferred it into its detachable handle from where he drank it.

Goliath removed his armor and unleashed his swarm of finger-sized Super Hybrid Mosquitoes from their nest on his back. They sucked the blood and souls from their victims and returned to their nest, giving Goliath more strength and power. Goliath’s size increased dramatically, reaching thirteen feet tall.

Queen Victoria’s fleet thought that, due to their numbers, the fight would end in moments; but they were in awe of the gifts and skills possessed by their enemy. Fidor and Dynamo ripped through more Vampeers with their futuristic laser guns. They obliterated the Queen’s small army.

Behind the safety of their enforced chambers, it appeared too quiet. Thinking that the fighting had ceased and that their enemies had fallen, the betrayers came out to face their own death. Their cries echoed in the great hall. Dracuul butchered and drained them of their resources. A few of her best men came out half-naked. Surprised that their enemy’s still breathed, they rushed back inside the Queen’s chambers to gather their armor and ordnances.

“How can I forget? Your whore of a Queen gets extremely aroused whenever she hears the clashing sounds of metal and death. We would fuck for hours!” Dracuul shouted behind the locked reinforced doors. “Don’t worry. I’ll wait for that whore to clothe herself as well. I want her to watch her best men die.”

Angered, her expert killers burst through the door and faced Daniel’s bloodsucking cyclone. As two were carried away, Fidor engaged with the one who successfully evaded Daniel’s cyclone. The expert killer reflected Fidor’s laser fire with a special shield. He lost his arm and was thrown down to the lower level of the castle. Goliath charged and delivered a fatal blow through the expert killer’s guard and straight to his heart. He crashed through the concrete banister of the balcony.

The Queen emerged from her chambers, shaking her head in disappointment. She veered her attention to Dynamo, who made the mistake of shooting his futuristic laser gun too close. She dispersed a magnetic force field that caused his armor to submit to its gravitational pull. She ripped her claws into his flesh. His upper and lower bodies were sent in opposite directions. Queen Victoria punished Goliath’s Super Mosquitoes who swarmed about her and clung to her flesh. Instantly, they fell to the floor dead.

“What a hypocrite. I’m not the only one who has been experimenting with blood,” Dracuul declared.

The Queen commented, “You’re right. It has its advantages, as you can see. I am immune to poisons and can poison anyone or anything, including your petty Mosquitoes, at will.”

Daniel yelled out to warn Goliath. “No, Goliath!” But a determined Goliath continued charging towards Victoria, who flew up and grabbed him by the throat and threw him through her castle’s wall.

Victoria examined the gaping hole in the stone wall, “I’ll have everything renovated tomorrow.”

Daniel moved with caution as she approached. Dracuul intervened and stepped in front of her. He lunged at her with his sword, but it failed to find its mark. With each miss of his sword, she punished him with lethal slashes coming from her two-handed Katana blades. He
backed off as Daniel stepped forward and knocked her off course with another burst of wind. Daniel’s gift sent her right into the arms of Goliath. He bear hugged her, crushing her as he sank his fangs into her neck. She replied with a mean bite of her own.

His experience with blood manipulation motivated him. Dracuul yelled out to his compatriots. “Come, we can all channel her poisons if we feed on her together.”

Dracuul and Daniel sunk their fangs into the Queen. Dracuul had been right. The poisons in her body could not affect them. By the time they finished, the Queen lay weak and empty. They stood over her. She stared at them vilely. With the last of her strength, she uttered her final words. “You will not get away with this, Dracuul. Think of me after your obsession for power fails and your own kingdom is burned to the ground.”

Dracuul responded, “No, I will have too much power to think about a retched whore like you. How you became Queen still irritates my skin. Be gone. I rid thee of thy misery. Send Dracula my regards.” Dracuul drove his Blood Lust sword into her heart to complete her passage. She gave a final cry as her soul journeyed into the Universe.

Dracuul said, “And it is done.”

“How Foolish and unwise are these men? Challenging their own Creator? Their regret will be sweeter than honey for ever going against the Kingdom of God.” Sabrina successfully carried out her duties in forwarding the crucial news to God concerning Bishop’s betrayal. Following the news, those proven to have been associated with Bishop were put to death and cast out of Heaven. The event brought back memories of Lucifer’s own casting out, as well as others who shared differences with God. Dead Archangels fell from Heaven, plummeting toward corners of the Universe and numerous Earths. The remainder of Bishop’s men wisely fled the Kingdom before receiving similar judgment.
