Crush: The River Demons MC of Louisiana Page 13

by Brair Lake

Day shuffles as he turns to look at me. “In what manner?”

I lick my lips. “When I worked in the city. I had a client, who to save himself turned on a man called Delaney.”

“What’s this got to do with Jono.”

“Delaney’s the bastard behind Jo-Leigh’s death and the reason I left New Orleans. For the last five years he’s been in Angola. Now he’s out on parole.” I take a swallow of the whisky. “I don’t know if they didn’t know where I was. Or they’ve waited until now. But Jono must have told them where I am.”

Day swings his beer bottle between his fingers. “Who is this Delaney?”

“He runs a racketeering organization. The thing is, he went down for Tax evasion and nothing more. His sentence was ten years, and he’s just been let out on early parole.” The whisky numbs my brain as I battle with my pain. I glance directly at Mia. “They raped Jo-Leigh. Then murdered her.” I turn to Day. “They never got the bastards who did it. Delaney had the perfect alibi. He was in prison.”

“You never thought he’d come looking for you,” said Leon.

I glance over to Leon and lick my lips. “They took the one thing away from me who meant anything. I packed my bags and ran from New Orleans the day Delaney went down and came back here.” I smile. It’s cold and doesn’t reach my eyes. “As a pack, I have a stronger chance of survival to that if I was on my own.”

Day strolls over to me. His lips straight and the blue of his eyes as dark as the midnight sky. “Did you know this when you hooked up with Mia.” Day glances at Mia then turns back to me. “The sheriff’s sister. That Delaney and his men would come looking for you.”

“Shit. Day. I didn’t think Jono was that vindictive or deranged he would put his own sister in such danger. He knows what Delaney is capable of.” I run my hand through my hair. “I expected trouble from Jono. I know we can handle him.”

Day is close. I can smell his aftershave and the beer on his breath. “You should have mention this sooner, Alex. I wouldn’t have gone along with this harebrained idea of yours to use Mia against Jono without knowing all the facts and the danger my club is in.” He turns from me. “Leon. You and Kit need to go to New Orleans. Find out what Delaney and his men are up to.” Day paces and my gaze shifts to Mia. I need to get her on her own and talk to her. “Oyster. You and TJ need to recall as many men as you can back to Noir Valley. Bastian, find somewhere where we can set up camp away from Demon’s Lair. I want business to carry on as normal.” Day glances over to Mia and shakes his head, then his gaze is back on me. “She had better be worth it. You don’t let her out of your sight. Because I don’t want Hank on my fucking back twenty-four/seven when he finds out about this escapade.” Day glances at his watch. “I’m hitting the sack. I suggest you all do the same. Because until this mess with Delaney is dealt with, life is going to be crap.”

I watch as the room empties. My head buzzing from the alcohol I have drunk and as I watch Mia, my heart dips. Shit. I have only just got her on Demon’s Lair. I did think we would have sometime before the shit hit the fan. “Can I get you a beer?”

Mia shrugs as she strolls further into the room. My cock is raging. Blood thunders through my body. Her tee-shirt is spread tight across her tits. Her face no longer has the look of someone just wakening. The sleep blush is gone. The hazel of her eyes blaze and I know it has nothing to do with passion. But my body doesn’t care. I need to make some good memories before life goes to shit, and I know it will. I can count on one hand the number of times Mia and I have had sex, and I want to remember more than a couple of one-night stands with her. She’s close. I can smell her. She must have showered before she went to bed. Her fingers trail along my arm and I shiver.

“I’d like a beer, Alex.” Her gaze burns into me. She is close and I yearn to wrap my arms around her. To take away the pain I see her battling with. When I pass her the beer, she steps away and strolls over to the window facing the river, and I watch her reflection in the glass.

A gulp of air knots in my throat as I watch the way she drinks from the bottle. Her head slightly arched back. Her neck constricts and relaxes as the cool liquid slides down her throat. My cock throbs as it clamors to replace the bottle. “Let’s return to the cabin.”

Mia shakes her head. She’s watching me through the glass. “Why did you invite me on to Demon’s Lair?”

“Because you’re an itch I need to scratch.”

Her hollow laughter as she turns to face me, grates along my spine. “It has nothing to do with Jono.”

Half a truth is better than a full lie. “I knew Jono wouldn’t be happy if you and I hooked up.”

“You knew Jono wouldn’t be happy–But you still went ahead with it.”

  “Mia.”

  “I knew about Delaney.”

  My heat throbs, “what.”

“I’m a fucking journalist. I checked you out. I knew about Delaney. Your last case. Do you hate him that much?”

  “Who? Delaney?”

“No. Not fucking Delaney. Jono. Do you hate him that much, that you used me?”

“No.” My laugh is mocking as I stroll over to her. My fingers clench. I want to reach out. To pull her into my arms. To tell her everything is going to be fine. “I just didn’t realize how much Jono hated me. That he’s never forgiven me for choosing Day over him.”

Mia steps away, only stopping when a chair blocks her, then she turns to face me. “You sound like a little boy, Alex. It’s my life you’ve put in danger. Not yours.”

I step towards her. Trapping her between the chair and my body. “Trust me. I’ll never let anything happen to you.”

  Chapter 20

  Mia –Demon’s Lair Noir Valley

My heart triple beats as I stare at Alex, and my stomach twitches so badly, I can taste the bile at the back of my throat. His gaze searches me as though I have the answers. A part of me wants to run. Another part wants me to stay. To offer him comfort. Yet, all I can think about is that he asked me to move on to Demon’s Lair to bait Jono. Life was better for me in my fantasy world. Away from what is happening here.

“How are you going to keep me safe? By keeping me locked in your cabin?”

Alex steps closer. His fingers brushing against the bare flesh of my arm and as warmth spreads through me, I step out of his reach. “That’s not a bad idea,” he said.

  “Alex.”

“Don’t you fancy being locked away with me.”

“Alex. Is this a fucking a game to you?”

He shakes his head. “I’ll think of something.”

He links his fingers with mine, and his thumb strokes the flesh on the back of my hand. “It’s life, Mia. I miscalculated.” Alex grunts. “Fuck, I didn’t realize he hates me as much as he does.”

“Do you think he’s in touch with this Delaney person.”

Alex nods as he releases my hand. “Delaney has a price on my head. He’s dirty, Mia. Shit. I heard the rumors and thought I was safe here.” Alex strolls to the window. Then turns to me. His smile lopsided and my stomach twists. “I could run. We could run. Keep the club out of trouble.”

“But you wouldn’t have the safety of the club to help you fight if Delaney caught up with us.”

  “No.”

“This is a fine mess you’ve got us in.”

Alex raises an eyebrow. “Thinking with your dick, does that to you.”

“I should hate you, Alex. For what you’ve done. But I don’t.”

Alex steps closer and I step back. “So, I’m forgiven then.”

“Are you crazy. Of course, you’re not forgiven. My life is in jeopardy because of this feud between you and Jono.” I run my hand through my hair. “Shit, I was stupid enough to think you and I being together might make you friends with Jono again.”

“We’re past friendship, Mia. I’m never going to give up the River Demons and Jono will never be a River Demon again.”

My head aches. “Did you take it away from him?”

“No. Jono did. When he didn’t get what he wanted.”

I stare at Alex, searching for answers hidden from me. “Do you fancy me Alex?”

“What kind of question is that?”

  I shrug. “An honest one.”

“If I didn’t fancy you. I wouldn’t have asked you to share my cabin or move to on Demon’s Lair.”

“No. Not even if it meant enticing Jono to come out of the woodwork.”

“I want you, Mia. You do crazy things to me. Make me think of doing stupid shit which puts you in trouble.”

“You can always go to Hank.”

Alex’s eyebrow rises, “now who’s the crazy one.”

I shrug, “I can always go back to Poppy’s.”

“And what will that accomplish? Apart from making me hornier than I am already.”

“It might get Delaney off your back.”

Alex shakes his head. “He knows where I am.” Alex is up against me. The lingering odor of alcohol surrounds him. His eyes bore into me, “we take them on Mia. You and me.”

My mouth is dry, and I lick my lips, “me.”

“Sure. Why not. You know how to protect yourself.” I take a deep breath. If I knew how to protect myself, I wouldn’t be here. I would have put Alex behind me when I had the chance. “You know how to use a gun.” The touch of his fingers as he strokes my hair has me leaning my head into his hand. “And unlike Jo-Leigh. You’re aware of the danger and of Delaney.”

  “And Jono.”

Alex’s thumb rubs over my bottom lip, tempting me to run the tip of my tongue over the flesh. “Jono revealed what he thinks of you.” His forehead rests against mine. “He doesn’t care about you, Mia. If he did. He wouldn’t have told Delaney about you.”

His breath is a cool breeze against the flesh of my cheek, and I close my eyes. He’s lulling me into a false sense of security. My brain tells me I shouldn’t trust him. That I only have his word about Jono. Then my heart reminds me what Jono had said. The threat had come direct from him. Not from one of his sidekicks.

“I don’t want to believe you, Alex. He was there. Helped me with my homework. Picked me up from school.” Alex continues to stroke my back and I sidle in closer to the warmth of his body. “He was the one who taught me how to use a gun. How to protect myself if I needed to before I went away to college.”

“He’s changed, Mia. He’s not the boy you remember.”

My arms slip under Alex’s cut and I wrap them around his waist. It was the danger of Alex and The River Demons which had drawn me in. Seeing Firebird and Eve with the bad boys of Noir Valley and them nothing more than ordinary women, had lulled me into a life I thought I could handle. “And I’m not the child he remembers.”

Alex’s chuckle vibrates against my neck. “You’re not the child I remember either.”

“I should hope not considering the way you’re looking at me and are fondling my tits. Or that you have humped me once or twice.”

“I think it’s time we got some more of this humping done. I can’t have you ruining my reputation.”

“The only person whose reputation is going to be ruined is mine.”

Alex chuckles as he pushes a couple of chairs which are stacked on a table, and they clatter to the floor. “Shush.”

“No-one’s going to come, Mia.” His smile deepens and his eyes sparkle as he looks at me and I wet my panties as the pulse in my clit treble in its pace. “Well apart from you that is. So, you make as much noise as you want. Now where was I. Oh yeah, that’s right.” Alex lifts me on to the table he’s just cleared, and I glance around the saloon. It is empty but the morning sun is breaking through the night sky and there will be life on the riverboat shortly.

“Let’s go back to the cabin, Alex.”

Alex’s fingers are at the button of my jeans. “We’re only going to do what any consenting adult does, Mia.” He slides the zipper down, tugging at my jeans until they fell to my knees. His fingers stroke my panties and I smell my sex as my cunt comes to life.

“No panties when I’m about, Mia.” He cups my pussy. His mouth close to my ear. “This belongs to me and they’ll be times when I want access to it without any hinderance. Lie back.” With a gentle shove, Alex has me lying on my back on the table. lifts my legs until my feet are flat against the surface, then finishes removing my jeans. My body is on fire. The blood races through my veins. My pussy aches as it begs for Alex’s attention. I watch as he picks up one of the chairs and sits on it as he faces me. As he traces the muscle of my calf with the light touch of his fingers, my thighs clench as I look at the ceiling and grip the table edge. “I like pussy, Mia.” His fingers are at the back of my knees and without looking I know he is staring at my pussy. “I like it very much. When I’m not here. Or when I’m working. You can wear your jeans.” He looks at me and I have to fight back my moan. “Or if we’re on the bike. Any other time. Wear a skirt or dress. Something which shows your legs off.”

“I’ll wear what I want. When I want.”

Alex’s finger trails along the seam of my pussy lips and I bite the inside of my mouth. “You ever been spanked. Mia.” I shake my head. “Displease me.” His lips brush against the flesh of calf. “And I’ll spank you.” His lips brush against my thighs. I’m sure he can smell my musk. That he is aware of how aroused I am and how much in need I am for some relief. “I’ll spank you until you come.” His tongue teases the bare skin of my leg. “Would you like that, Mia. To be spanked until you’re begging me to let you come.” His lips brush against my flesh covered pussy. “You would enjoy it, Mia.” He pulls back and a moan escapes me at the loss of his touch. “Maybe you should disobey me and find out just what I can do to your body.”

I close my eyes. I’m dammed either way. I either parade around half naked, exposed to and waiting for his touch, or spanked until I climaxed. “You play dirty, Alex.”

“Don’t tell me you didn’t know.” His fingers trace an invisible path on my thighs.

“I know Firebird likes to watch. And I’ve heard one or two rumors about Hank and Day.”

  “But nothing about me.”

His hand cups my knee as he strokes the back of the knee. His lips close as he nips along the flesh of my calf. “I might have heard one or two things.” Noir Valley is a hot bed of gossip. On the Mississippi is a gambling riverboat rumored to sell sex. When Poppy and I stayed on Demon’s Lair, we were forbidden from exploring the riverboat. We did a little snooping, but it wasn’t until the night I moved into Alex’s cabin, I learnt the truth of what happens in the private domain of Demon’s Lair.

“One or two things. Like what.”

“That you’re insatiable. That you don’t mind sharing.”

Alex spreads my legs a little further and his breath tickles against the flesh of my pussy lips. “Would you like me to share you, Mia.” His tongue swipes over my flesh and I bite my lips. “To have Day watch as I spank you. Maybe have him spank you as you suck my dick.” My body quivers and Alex chuckles. “I just tasted your juice, Mia. Does it excite you to think of having two men at the same time?”

I shake my head as an image of Candy sandwich between Kit and Smokey invade my thoughts. I can barely handle Alex as he licks my pussy. His breath warm against my hot pussy. “No, Alex. I think you’re man enough on your own.”

Alex’s tongue swipes along the sensitive flesh between my pussy lips. His mouth finding my clit and he latches on to the swollen bud. “You only think. Let me know when we’ve finished if you believe I’m man enough.”

I forget how to think as Alex plays with my pussy. His tongue teasing the flesh as he licks and nips at me. His hands are not idle either as they stroke my thighs. With each lick he delivers, I thrust against his mouth. His hands knead my flesh and a quiver rocks my body. “I think I’m about to come.”

“Not without me inside you, Mia.” I moan at the loss of the touch of his mouth. My pussy burns and the throb in my clit tease the coils in my stomach. “Look
at me, Mia.” I open my eyes to find Alex standing between my legs. His cock poking out of his jeans. The groan which escapes me has nothing to do with my impending orgasm. It was at the loss of his covered cock. Through the translucent membrane of the latex, I can see the throbbing veins of his engorged cock. “Watch, Mia. Watch as I slide into you.” I don’t want to watch. I wanted to close my eyes and lean my head back as I lose myself in my orgasm. It is the command in his voice which has me watching him slide into me. Stretching me as he fills me. “Ready.” I nod, my grip tightening on the table as Alex thrusts into me. Long, hard strokes as his cock and condom rub against the muscles of my pussy. His finger finds my clit and he rubs the engorged flesh as he plunges in and out of me. Friction of latex and flesh leave me gasping for air and it’s on a loud gasp I shudder around Alex as he grunts into the air and climaxes inside me.

  “You Okay?”

I stare at the ceiling. Am I Okay? No, I’m not. I’m out of breath and feel like a puddle. I drop my legs, sit up and stare at Alex as I nod. I’m sure my grin splits my face. “I’ll live.”

“Think I’m man enough just for you.”

“You want me to judge you on one encounter?” The creak of the saloon door opening has me staring at Teach over Alex’s shoulder and my smile slips as she glares at me. Since my arrival on Demon’s Lair the whore has been less than cordial towards with me. Her gaze drops to Alex’s bum and the jeans at his hips. Her lips tighten and I smile to hide the embarrassment burning inside me. She sashays further into the room, and I know she has no intentions of leaving or giving me any privacy to straighten myself out. Noticing my stillness, Alex glances over his shoulder, then steps away and retrieves my jeans and I pull them on.

“I’m making a coffee. Do you want one?” Teach asks
