I shake my head. “It’s not likely.”
“I know you are doubtful,” Katie says. “I understand. You are the kind of person who needs to see results before you’ll start to believe. I am willing to give you time for that to happen.”
“What should I do then?” I shout in frustration and shoot a patronizing glance at her. If she really has all the answers, it’s time to start proving it. Katie is unfazed by my frantic energy.
“The key lies within yourself.” She points a nail polished finger at my chest. I glance down at it and then look back up at her.
“What do you mean?”
“I can teach you how to focus on the better things in life. For example, you can focus on the good you are doing. You will be surprised at how almost instantly, you will begin feeling lighter and the darkness will begin to fade.”
“I don’t know if that will work.” I stand up and start walking in circles.
“Think about it,” Katie presses. “You are planning for something bigger than yourself. Something that will change the course for your vampires. You have the potential to become their hero. Doesn’t that make you feel good about yourself?” Katie asks and stands up, walking toward me.
My rage takes over. I lack focus. All I can think about is fucking her and taking control that way. Then we’ll see how she likes it. We’ll see if she still beats to the same tune after I ravage her little gash between her legs.
“I’m the one who can help you accomplish things that you would never even imagine possible,” Katie tells me. “I’ll unite us as a family.”
My eyes blur as I race up to her. Before I know what’s happening, my hands are all over her, touching her warmth, burying my head in her neck, but it’s not her blood I want to drink this time. My hunger is off balance and shifting. I’m enticed by her. I want her and her motivation to saturate me in ways beyond anything I could never imagine. My lips hit hers, and everything changes.
Chapter Forty-Five
Carl
The scent of Katie’s blood fills my nostrils, but I ignore it. I’m not ravenous to drain her neck. I’ve already fed today, earlier in the morning. My thirst for blood is satisfied for the moment, and I need to quench the sexual tangible hunger that’s rattling my bones.
Katie is staring at me with monumental trust, as if she already knows I won’t hurt her. Even if her eyes gaze into mine with genuine faith, I don’t trust myself. I’m worried I might do something to harm her. I don’t want to inflict damage. I want to bring her passion and pleasure.
Her skin is soft. Her breasts are tantalizing. Her sultry gaze is seductive and alluring. I have gone too far in this to turn back now. I pull her shirt over her head and fumble to unbutton her shorts.
She allows me to touch her everywhere, beckoning me with the way she wraps her arms around me. Her human warmth sends me into overdrive. I feel her pulse quickening. The blood rushes through her veins more rapidly. I’m plunging off the deep end into the point of no return.
I kiss her over and over, on her neck, on her earlobes, on her lips. She tastes like what I remember strawberries to be like. It sends a burst of nostalgia through me. I can fuck Katie and have that soulful connection with her the way normal human’s mate. It’s a concept that appeals to my mind, inside and out.
Katie moans and hugs me tighter. Her perky nipples poke into my bare chest. We are frantically undressing each other. Soon, we are naked. Two ethereal beings. One mortal, the other, not. One with a beating heart, and one who’s internal drum beats to a quest that must be conquered.
“Are you sure this is okay?” I whisper in her ear as she gently grazes her nails against my back.
“Yes,” she breathes out as an order. “Don’t stop.”
“I won’t,” I pacify her with that promise, but I pull away for a few seconds.
Katie eyes me with wild hunger and passion swirling through her blue eyes. “What are you doing?” she whines. “I told you not to stop.”
“I don’t want to hurt you,” I confess with somewhat reluctance.
Katie fervently shakes her head. Her blonde hair falls gently over her face and floats with grace down the sides of her shoulders. “You won’t hurt me.”
“How do you know?” I argue.
“I’m unbreakable,” Katie says with a devilish smile that’s hard to resist or protest.
I have no choice but to believe every word that comes out of her sexy mouth.
Katie is like my drug. I’m intoxicated by the effect she has over me and I don’t know how to control these primal urges that take over my mind. I press her up against the wall of the den. She cries out with a frenzy of amusement.
“That’s more like it,” she giggles.
I pin her to the wall by gripping her wrists and pulling them up over her head. My brain tells me what to do and how to react. My lips shower her breasts and belly with kisses that prickle her skin with the chill bumps of pure ecstasy.
Now I believe her. I understand that fate is wrapping its arms around us and taking over. I don’t want to inflict any damage to her perfect, beautiful body. She continues to gaze at me with passionate longing that floors me.
“Take me,” she moans into my ears. She’s practically purring. I’m centered and focused. There is no one else in the world but the two of us. Everything else disappears. My anxiety and fears for the future melt away.
“I’m going to do my best not to wound you in any way,” I whisper as a prayer song.
Katie grips my shoulders and gives me a defiant, reprimanding stare. “For the last time, stop worrying about something that is not going to happen.”
I pause for a moment. Katie is telling me not to hesitate, and the angry, throbbing erection that’s pulsing against her legs doesn’t want to deny me the pleasure that I’m hunting either.
“Okay.” My head nods on its own without enforcement from my brain. “Let’s do this.”
“That’s what I’m talking about,” Katie giggles and squeezes her slender, soft arms around my neck.
I pick her naked body up by the hips and move her over to the temporary makeshift bed where she’s been sleeping since she joined forces with us. As gently as I can, I push her down on the bed and open her legs.
I take a few moments to stare at her intoxicating beauty that strips all my cares away. Her raw, immaculate body is so breathtaking that I ogle at her for a few moments without realizing I’m entranced.
Katie clears her throat. I stare up at her with a dumbfounded expression. She’s grinning up at me with wild eagerness. “Is everything alright?” she whispers in a sultry voice.
“Uh-huh,” I nod numbly.
“Then what are you waiting for, naughty boy?” Katie licks her lips and sways her hips to entice me.
“You are so wet,” I marvel.
“I’m ready for you,” she croons.
Knowing that she’s so soaking wet with arousal just by being kissed by me surges me with powerful confidence. I might as well indulge myself with the potential for experiencing soaring heights of pleasure.
“You’re so hot,” I groan as I grab my throbbing prick and push it against the open slit between her legs. She’s soft and warm and engorged, glistening with juices that help me slide inside of her with delicate ease.
I groan again as my shaft fits inside of Katie like a glove.
“That’s it, baby,” she coaxes me along with a pet name that ravages my senses. “You are doing great.”
“I’m not hurting you?” I ask, wondering about my powerful nature as a vampire.
“Nope.” Katie bites her bottom lip and moans softly as I push myself further into her.
She wraps her legs around my waist and grinds along with me, digging her nails into my back. “It feels amazing,” she whispers in my neck.
She’s warm, wet and slippery. My cock explores her pussy with purpose and invigorating pleasure. The passion between us is surreal. It’s something unexplainable, as if we have been doing this for
years.
“Why does it feel so natural?” I ask as I continue to grind and thrust on her.
Katie rides me as if there’s no tomorrow. Her hips bounce on my lap and her perky breasts rise and fall with the movement, mesmerizing me.
“It feels natural because we are supposed to be doing this. It’s the road that fate has paved for us,” she says and tugs on my hair. She gently nibbles on my ear lobes.
It’s as if she can read my mind or something, because I was just thinking about how fate is in control of the situation.
I continue to ravage her, pumping harder and faster. I try to be aware of how rough I’m being, but Katie seems to be enjoying herself based on the wails of passion booming from her throat.
I glance at her arms and legs, making sure that I’m not leaving behind bruises from the tight grip I have on her. Katie’s eyes roll back in her head. Her cheeks flush with pinkness and she arches her back with desire and arousal.
“I think I’m going to cum,” she moans and stiffens up.
Then, in an instant, all her muscles begin to shake, and her body convulses on the bed under me. She roars with ecstasy as her orgasm rattles through her.
I hold on tight. I’m so turned on by how violently she’s coming that the pleasure rips through me like a hurricane. I groan and cry out as I explode inside of her, sending a hot load of my vampire semen into her pussy.
After a few seconds, I slide my cock out of her. It’s slippery and sticky, soaking wet as our cum juices mix together. “Wow,” I say and lay on my back.
“I told you that you wouldn’t hurt me,” Katie beams. She strokes my hair tenderly.
“You were right,” I laugh. “As always, apparently.”
“You were in control and you took me just as I begged,” she says.
“It was more like an order,” I tease.
She props herself up on her elbow and studies me. “You are quite handsome.”
“Thank you,” I say and absorb the compliment. Nobody ever gives me much credit. “I hope I can also add being great at sex to my list.”
Katie laughs like a beautiful breeze tickling my senses. “You can definitely add cute and adorable to the list.”
I lean back and allow Katie to mold into my body. I spoon her, wrapping her up in my arms and never wanting to let her go. We lay together in silence for a while. I listen to her blood pumping through her heart, but I still have no desire to feed on her. It’s a lulling and tranquil sound for me in this moment.
That’s how I know I must love her. After a while, her rhythmic breathing lets me know she’s drifting off to a hopefully restful and peaceful sleep.
Chapter Forty-Six
Katie
My eyes trail the rainbow skirting across the sky. Magnificent colors blend together as the storm clears. Peace surges through my veins. I’m in a euphoric, trance-like state. I sigh contentedly and run a hand through my blonde hair that tickles against the side of my cheek like a feather.
Carl is beside me. Roger, Brent and Ken are there too. Brent sits proudly atop the Ethwan throne. His golden crown gleams brightly under the light of the sun as the clouds part to yield to fresh rays of sunshine. Warmth engulfs the planet, and everyone is full of harmony.
Roger squeezes my hand and Ken rubs my shoulder, boastfully grinning. It takes me a few minutes to realize that I’m only dreaming right now. I’m encompassed by a fantasy that’s so vivid, that the fine line between reality and my imagination takes my breath away.
I groan and roll over in bed, squeezing my eyes shut. I don’t want the dream to end. I’m imagining congruence between the vampires and the dragons. In my unconscious state, there is no more war, no more fighting. I’m the bridge that transitions the two and melts them together. I must fulfil my quest and help Brent, Roger and Carl conquer stability.
I drift off again into blissful tranquility. My head relaxes on the pillow and my body sinks into the mattress of the bed in the den. I’m aware of the fact that the serene picture in my mind is only a dream for now, but hidden clues might be tucked away in my psyche. I must find them in order to press forward.
“Brent,” I mumble in reality as I rustle between the sheets.
In an instant, Brent is towering over me with a gleam in his green eyes. I gasp as he shifts into a magnificent dragon right before my eyes. I’m in awe of how splendid he looks. His green scales shimmer like emeralds as his mighty wings flap in the wind overhead.
I’m not afraid of him. I know he’ll never harm me. I saved his species, and he is forever grateful for everything I’ve done to get him to this blissful moment. He flies through the rainbow and the roar of dragons and vampires from the crowd begin to cheer with joy.
I am clapping for my handsome king as he soars through the sky like a warrior. Ken bolts into the sky to join his brother. He is blue and glowing as he chases after Brent, two bonded brothers unified for the same purpose, to save their planet and everyone who lives there.
Then, in a spectacular display, the two dragons that I have come to appreciate and love beyond anything I could ever explain, breath fire into the air.
The sky lights up and the heat of their flame stretches to the rest of us on the ground. The crowd goes wild again, cheering and whistling for the saviors of their planet. Brent descends and plants his feet on the ground once again, shifting back.
“I just want to thank the love of my life, Katie who stands before me today. If not for her, we might all be dead. She is the one who sacrificed everything to save us. She unified the dragons and vampires and without her, the fate of Ethwan would be very different right now.”
The crowd erupts again as Ken and Brent lift me high into the air. Brent gently places me on his back and I cry out with a squeal of delight as he transforms into a handsome dragon. I’m still clinging to his muscles that soon morph into his gorgeous emerald scales.
The breeze takes my breath away as we climb into the atmosphere, rising to new heights. I grip onto Brent, holding on for dear life. I see the rainbow up close. Salty tears puddle in my eyes and drizzle down my cheeks. I taste them as they gently flutter to my lips. I’m crying from pure joy for everything that we’ve accomplished.
As we fly off into the horizon chasing after the sun, I let go of Brent, allowing my arms to dangle and float through the air for a few moments. I’m a bird, drifting through the clouds. I am on top of the world, and nothing can alter the direction that I’m heading now. My eyes flutter closed, and I open my mouth to allow the air in the atmosphere to consume me and fill my lungs. I trust Brent with every fiber in my soul.
When I open my mouth, I stumble. The location has transformed drastically. I’m no longer in the air, flying like a dove floating on Brent’s back. I’m in what looks like a grotto or something, surrounded by huge rocks.
A waterfall pours into a stream beside me and prisms of light reveal themselves in the bubbles that collect on the surface of the water. The rushing sound of the liquid pouring down into the pool pacifies me like a lullaby. Even though I am uncertain about my whereabouts, the idea doesn’t bother me. I can’t see Brent, Ken, Roger or Carl anymore but I’m not afraid.
“Katie.”
A familiar voice chimes behind me like a whisper of safety that sprinkles light into the darkness.
I turn around and slide off a slippery rock that is continuously getting splashed with excess water from the waterfall.
“Spes?” I ask with confusion, blinking to make sure this is not just another vision. I must still be dreaming. Spes shouldn’t be here with me.
He drifts over to me. His enormous blue eyes never leave mine. He has hair just like my sister’s. He’s almost like a carbon copy of her. His expression is kind as he swaggers over to me in an ethereal type of way.
He touches my cheek softly, reaching his arm up to make contact with my skin. His presence feels surreal and tangible at the same time.
“How did I get here?” I murmur as I continue to stare through his massi
ve, yet wise eyes.
“I am proud of you,” he states, ignoring my question.
“Where am I?” I ask.
“Where you need to be.” Spes’ cheeks wrinkle as a kind smile curls at the edges of his cherry red lips.
“I don’t understand.” I shake my head as Spes takes a step away from me. My dream like state muddles my mind a bit.
“You’ve found your purpose in life,” he responds like a whisper of a butterfly fluttering in the wind.
Now, everything surges through me. I can finally grasp the magnitude of the power I have in the center of my belly that rises and swells like the crest of an ocean wave. The fighting and the wars are over. A replenishing serenity dwells in the heart of Ethwan, and within me.
I watch as Spes wanders away, walking backwards like a fog crawling back from where he came from.
“Where are you going?” I call out to him, but he disappears without a trace.
My mind darts back to the present. I sit up in bed, gasping for air. I’m back in the den. Glancing around frantically, I notice that Carl is no longer lying beside me. Carl is a wandering soul. He can’t sit still for long, or his anxious mind will begin to fester. It will take substantial work to get him to a more peaceful and restful state of mind, but I’m up for the challenge.
I wait a few seconds to determine whether he will emerge from the shadows, but after I realize he’s nowhere to be found, I call out to him.
“Carl?” I ask the silence and the blanket of darkness around me.
He doesn’t respond. I throw the sheets off of my legs and climb out of the bed. If my dream is a premonition of the future, I must find out the steps in order to achieve the destiny that awaits me, awaits us all.
