Anna thanks me for the help and we go our separate ways, later, I’m talking with Amelia.
“So Lizzy, how did you and Alex come to be?” asks Amelia.
Barely met and already she’s calling me my nickname.
“Kind of a complicated story, Amelia, basically what happened is Alex had a seizure, I skipped school to visit him in hospital once, a few months later he jokingly flirted with another girl, I felt jealous, he picked up on it, and I told him I loved him” I explain.
“Aw, that is the cutest underage love story I’ve ever heard!” says Amelia.
How many underage love stories HAVE you heard exactly?! Somehow, I don’t think it’s greater than one with mine included! Later on, I’m sitting down with Alex and his family watching TV.
“Now Alex you a choice to make, if you like you can return to live with your class again, or you can stay at home with myself, Dad, Amelia, and Anna” says Alex’s Mum.
“Stay home? Mum, to me, school IS home! No disrespect but I felt more at home at school than anywhere else, even here!” exclaims Alex.
“That’s good to hear, Alex, so back to school it is!” says Alex’s Mum.
“We won’t have to go through that security clearance thing again, will we?” asks Anna.
“No, says on this email that they’re valid until 2012” says Alex’s Dad.
Security clearance?
“Hey, Mr and Mrs Moore, what’s the deal with this security clearance?” I ask.
“Oh, Elizabeth, prior to the start of school Amelia and I had to get a security clearance to allow us to visit Alex at the school in case there was a family emergency. Mum and Dad didn’t have to because they weren’t in the country anyway and even if they were, Dad wouldn’t have to get anything done because he works in a maximum-security prison” explains Anna.
Interesting.
At about 9.30pm Alex and I go to bed, Alex’s bed is quite big, we both fit in quite snugly. Yeah, we’re sharing a bed, we’ve practically done it ever since we became boyfriend and girlfriend! I lay next to Alex as we have done at school.
“Sleep tight now, Al” I say.
“Will do, Lizzy” he says.
And after that, we both fall asleep, we’re a very synchronized couple, aren’t we? Well anyway, it’s been a pretty hectic year, I get elected as class leader, fall in love with a guy I used to hate, skip school to visit him in hospital, learn to cook with him, and adore nature with him. The next morning, I return to my own home, then the 2nd of January comes, my parents leave, and Alex moves in. I wonder what adventures await us in 2008.
THE END
