In his car the night before, he’d lost control and ended up sounding like a female, but she had it like that. He literally felt like he was tingling to the point of combustion. His toes were curling right then, and he wasn’t even inside of her. All she was doing was rubbing it.
“I think he’s starting to like me.” Goody looked at Jerrico for a minute then darted her eyes down to his erection. “Look.” She moved her hand and showed him the precum that had slid from him so easily.
Jerrico looked from her hand to her face. “What you gon’ do about that?”
Goody exhaled roughly then licked her hand. She made sure to make a show of it, moaning and smacking her lips afterward. Jerrico picked her up and laid her on the island filled with half eaten food.
“Wait.” She sat back up. “I want to suck it.” Goody tried to slide from the counter, but Jerrico stopped her.
“You don’t have to do that.”
Goody pushed him back roughly with a frown on her face. “Yes, I do, so don’t tell me no.”
Neither of them said anything else when she slid from the counter and squatted in front of him. With her arms raised in the air, she looked up at him.
“Pull my shirt off.”
Jerrico obliged, and she pulled his pants the rest of the way. Her mouth was wet and dripped slob as she jerked it back and forth over him. Jerrico grabbed the sloppy bun on her head and squeezed his eyes shut.
“Fuckkkk,” he groaned.
Spit dripped everywhere as she slurped him up sloppily. Goody was so savage during sex, and he was gone off that shit already. Not the least bit shy and always willing. His dick felt like it was shaking every time she sucked it to the back of her throat.
“Paradise, baby girl, fuck.” He looked down at her with the muscles in his legs tightening.
“You gon’ come for me?” She pulled his dick to the tip of her tongue and just let it sit there.
Jerrico nodded. “Shit yeah, that’s what you want?”
She nodded and slurped him back up, nearly swallowing it all. When her pretty hand came up to caress his hard abs, Jerrico’s knees buckled, and he fell forward onto the island for support. When he felt her moving below him, he jumped back.
“Damn, baby. I’m sorry. Did I make you hit your head?” he forced out while trying to catch his breath.
Goody stood to her feet with a smile. “Yeah, you did.” She snickered and wiped her mouth with the black tank top that she’d taken off. “You good, though. As long as you get you some, I can handle a little unnecessary roughness.”
Jerrico smirked and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. “We need to shower so we can get our day started.”
“Let’s go then. That’s you down here getting your dick sucked like we ain’t got nowhere to be. I been ready,” she joked.
“You feel like giving me some?”
“See, look at you, still wasting time. Didn’t you get enough last night?” Her sarcastic tone made them both laugh. “Just save it for later. I’ll give it to you then.”
Goody walked from the kitchen with him following her. Still dazed from the head she’d just put down, Jerrico had to open and close his eyes a few times before he started walking. Goody was the truth, for real.
Chapter Ten
Ain’t Got Time for New Relationships
The sun was bright and beaming down on Goody’s shoulders. Her oversized sunglasses covered most of her face while Jerrico’s hat covered her head. He’d been adamant about her putting it on before they left the house, and now she knew why. Initially, she’d thought it was because he thought she looked cute in it, which was another one of his excuses but being out in the sun added to it.
“You look bourgeois.” Jerrico nudged her with his shoulder. “Stop frowning like that.”
Goody looked from the insanely smelly Giraffe cages. “I can’t help it, they smell awful.”
“They do, but you still look stuck up.”
Goody laughed and leaned over to drink from his straw again. She’d been doing it all day, and he didn’t understand why, since he’d offered to get her one of own, and she’d quickly declined.
“You sure you don’t want me to get you one?”
“No, I don’t want one.” She looked back at him with a big smile. “I hope that wasn’t your way of telling me to stop drinking out of your cup.”
“Of course not. My cup is your cup.”
“Um huh,” she mumbled and walked closer to the giraffe coming their way.
Even though they smelled horrible, Goody was actually having a good time with Jerrico. After their shower, he’d taken her to her house to get dressed and surprised her with a date to the zoo. She loved animals and had mentioned that to him the first night she’d stayed at his house.
All day, he’d been holding her hand and saying sweet things to her. Something she most definitely was not used to. Giving niggas the time of her day had been such a lost art in her life that she never even let them get close enough to her to smell her perfume, let alone hold her hand.
“Hold your hand out so he can get the food. Your fist is almost closed. What’s he going to get out of that?”
“I don’t know if I want him to get it. I’m still thinking about it. All that spit is going to be on me.” Goody’s nose turned up as she shrank away from the approaching giraffe head. Apparently, Jerrico noticed her discomfort because seconds later, his chest was pressed to her back with his hand holding onto her wrist and stretching it toward the giraffe.
Goody’s nerves were shot, but with Jerrico close up on her like that, it was easier. She released a loud squeal when the large tongue swiped the center of her hand, taking all of the food with it. Jerrico and a few other people around them laughed at her theatrics, but that was it for her. She wanted no more parts of it.
“Let’s go to the bathroom. I need to wash my hand.”
Jerrico’s laughter had her looking at him like he was crazy.
“It ain’t that funny.”
“It is though.” He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close again. “Let’s go.”
Together, they walked toward the small yellow building with the monkeys painted on it. The large restroom sign positioned on top of it rocked back and forth from the light wind. Goody looked around before removing her purse and handing it to Jerrico. He raised his eyebrows with a smirk on his face.
“You too good to hold my purse?”
He shook his head and freed her hands of it. Goody’s laughter was unavoidable when she looked at the way he was holding it. The camel brown colored straps were crumpled in a tight fist, while the small circle part of it where all of her things were hung loosely by his side.
“You’re holding it like a grocery sack.”
Jerrico looked at the purse then back at her. “Go wash your hands.”
Goody playfully rolled her eyes and walked into the crowded bathroom. There were people everywhere with their kids either waiting for a stall, washing their hands, or standing in the mirror. Goody joined the crew and washed her hands first, then went to the mirror next. She’d put her long blue unit back on, so she removed her hat and glasses for a second to redo her ponytail.
The long blue hair was pulled back in a sleek pony that hung down the center of her back. After drying the sweat from her forehead and replacing her hat, she walked out with her glasses still hanging from the middle of her white cropped top with the large, black Nike check on it. The black and orange Nike Dri-fit pants and orange, racer-blue, and black Airmax she wore looked perfect with the blue hat that Jerrico had worn to her show the other night.
When she rounded the corner, her first action was to look for him. He was no longer standing near the door. He was seated beneath some trees with her purse tossed across his lap. Also in Nike gear, his all black paired with a pair of neon orange TN Airmax and an orange daddy hat the same color, they matched. Oddly enough, it had been Goody’s idea. He’d been dressed first, so when she went to change, she’d found so
mething to match.
“Look at you, trying to match me and shit.”
Hard blushing and a smooth middle finger had been her answer. She’d hoped he wouldn’t say anything about it, but she was slowly learning that Jerrico was a man who was confident in himself and freely spoke his mind, no matter the topic.
Goody fought the smile teasing her lips as she approached him. He was so handsome and so relaxed. With one arm thrown over the back of the bench and his legs stretched out in front of him, he casually tapped on his phone. The scarred, untrusting woman inside of her momentarily wondered if he was texting someone else but dared not say it. She’d bared enough of her skeletons for one day.
“I’m ready.” Goody gracefully slid onto his lap.
Jerrico’s hand with the phone came around her waist, holding her in place. Since he needed to see his phone, he held it up near her stomach and leaned over. With him at the angle, she could see the screen perfectly. See, that was why she loved God. He was always looking out for her. He’d known she wasn’t going to have a peace of mind without knowing what he’d been doing on his phone and bam! Just like that, she could see.
“Give me a minute then we can get up. I need to finish emailing Savannah James right quick.”
Goody nodded but then stopped and looked at him.
“Savannah James? As in Lebron James’ wife?”
He nodded and kept typing.
“Oh my gosh, how do you know her?”
Jerrico looked at her with a frown. “I do all of their events. What do you mean, how do I know her? Them my people.”
“Shut up!” Goody exclaimed in excitement.
“I keep trying to tell you I’m the best.” Jerrico sent his email and patted her butt so they could stand and walk.
Goody, still shocked from his admission, stood slowly and ended up getting knocked off balance when his chest hit her shoulder. His hand to her back broke her complete fall.
“Now, you know you saw me getting up. You ain’t in that big of a rush.”
“You act like I meant to bump into you.”
“Goody?”
Jerrico and Goody both looked toward the male voice that had just called her name. Goody rolled her eyes when she saw Elijah standing there with some half white girl and a little boy who looked exactly like the girl. Whether he was Elijah’s son or not was a mystery, but she didn’t care one way or the other. Elijah was annoying and had been on her block list since the first night she met Jerrico. They’d only been conversing for about a month, but after he’d called, trying to check her right before her show, he’d been on her bad side. He was a drama queen who did too much for Goody’s personal preference.
“What’s up?” Goody answered with somewhat of an attitude.
“How you been?” Elijah took her speaking as an open invitation to approach her. “I haven’t heard from you in a while.”
“Been busy.” Goody looked past him at the girl.
She was standing there looking unbothered. Dumb. That couldn’t have been another woman talking to Jerrico, and all she did was stand there looking at her phone. Nah, Goody wasn’t that girl. She would have walked right up with Elijah and spoke too, but different women, different attitude.
When Goody looked back at Elijah, he was staring at her. His thick eyebrows and handsome face were still two of her favorite things, but right then wasn’t the time for all of that.
“Can I talk to you for a second?”
“What?” Goody looked at him like he was crazy. “No.” Her head shook. “You tripping. It was nice to see you.”
“Just a second.” Elijah looked over her head at Jerrico. “I’m sorry, man. I just need to holla at her for a second.”
“No, you do not. And, don’t talk to him.” Goody grabbed Jerrico’s hand and looked up.
His chocolate skin glistened beneath the sun, and his eyebrows slightly frowned, but for the most part, he was his calm looking self. He was looking at Elijah, but because he was always so relaxed, it was hard for Goody to feel him out right then.
“We can go,” she told him.
He looked down at her while simultaneously wrapping his arm around her neck. Goody went willingly, leaning into him further than necessary, but at that moment, she wanted to be with him, and him only. Elijah needed to kick fucking rocks.
“Paradise,” Elijah spoke, and finally, the girl found her eyes and walked over to them.
“Elijah, leave her alone, and let’s go.”
Elijah looked off to the side, acknowledging that he’d heard her but didn’t move right away. Goody didn’t waste her time waiting for him to make up his mind. Instead, she wrapped her arm around Jerrico’s waist and turned so they could walk away.
“You told me you weren’t ready for a relationship.” Elijah’s light skinned part came out, and he began to act like a whole hoe.
Goody’s eyes rolled beneath her shades as she turned back around to stop the show he was obviously about to put on.
“I wasn’t.”
“Doesn’t look that way.”
“Man, have some dignity. You have a lady right there. Fall away from mine,” Jerrico told Elijah with an outstretched hand keeping the distance between him and Goody.
Elijah squinted his eyes as if he didn’t understand why Jerrico was talking to him. “Yo, I’m good. Don’t worry about me. I was talking to her.”
“Elijah, get your ass away from me. This is the shit I didn’t like. You act like a damn woman. Fuck out of here, please!” Goody snatched her glasses off so she could look him in the eye. “Jerrico, let’s go, please.”
Elijah’s little woman looked at Jerrico and smiled brightly. “I thought that was you. My goodness, that raspberry cheesecake you made with the pecan crunch is killer.”
Jerrico smiled at her, and Goody wanted to slap the smile off his face. His sexy ass. He was too fine to be just smiling at other women like that.
“I appreciate that. Where did you taste it?”
She shot her eyes toward Elijah. “We were at your restaurant last night on a date.”
Noticable shock was on Elijah’s face, but he held it in. “Yeah, the bourbon swordfish was good too,” he spoke snidely.
“I’m happy you all enjoyed. Next time you’re there, everything is on me.” Jerrico held his hand out and shook the girls then held it for Elijah.
Elijah didn’t move right away, but he eventually grabbed it firmly. Jerrico held it. “Next time you see Paradise, make sure your greeting is short. Y’all enjoy the rest of your day.”
Elijah’s girlfriend was all smiles while Elijah looked like he could shoot bricks through his eye sockets. Goody was still tucked beneath Jerrico’s arm as they finally walked away. They were both quiet, with her speaking first.
“Why’d you offer them free food? He needs to pay.”
“Good business,” Jerrico said casually.
“Fuck that. He was rude to you.”
“That doesn’t mean be rude back. Besides, his pride was hurt. A man will do anything when that happens.”
“Whatever.”
Jerrico looked at her. “Why you mad? It sounds like you dumped him.”
“You have to be in a relationship with a person to get dumped.”
“So, you and him weren’t a thing?”
“Hell no. He liked me, but I wasn’t feeling him like that. He’s too in touch with his feelings. Kept calling me and trying to check me about stuff. It got on my nerves.”
Jerrico nodded and hummed to himself for a minute. “You do all your men like that?”
“Like what?”
“Make them like you then dip.”
Goody stopped and looked at him with her arms crossed over her chest. “What are you getting at, because I don’t have time for this.” She was getting really annoyed, and she’d hate to turn their date sour, but before she let a nigga get on her nerves, she’d do just that.
Jerrico looked her over, taking in her combative posture and chuckled before walki
ng. Goody stood there watching him leave before speeding to catch up with him. She grabbed his arm and attempted to roughly turn him around. His eyes quickly shot to her before he released a daring chuckle and resumed his pace.
“Jerrico, don’t walk away from me.”
He kept walking, pissing her off further. Goody was fighting mad by the time she caught up to him.
“You’re being stupid.”
“Don’t call me names.” His stride didn’t break.
“Well, stop acting like a butthole about something that you don’t even know about.” Now it was her turn to have an attitude.
With a new determination in mind, Goody walked in front of him and headed for the exit. Fuck that zoo and them stupid animals. She was ready to go. Whether or not he followed was on him. The parking lot wasn’t too far, so she got to his car rather quickly, and since he’d been behind her walking like Ms. Daisy, she had to wait for him to get there and let her in.
As soon as he hit the locks, she got in. Once her seatbelt was on, Goody took her phone out and began texting Rabbit and Yummy about her current foolishness. Their group chat went up in a matter of seconds. All of them expressing their thoughts passionately. When Jerrico joined her in the car, he hit the air, and the music then pulled out.
With loud music playing, Goody was able to get into creative mode. Lyrics bounced from one end of her mind to the other. Always keeping her notebook handy, she pulled it from her purse and began to scribble the words from her head. She’d peeped Jerrico looking at her every so often, but he didn’t say anything, so neither did she.
“You hungry?” He finally spoke once they began to approach restaurants.
“No.”
“Cool.” Jerrico continued past the places and ended up at her apartment complex.
Goody was mad, but she wasn’t ready to go home, and since his car was still running, he was obviously about to drop her off. She was putting her things back into her purse when he got out and opened the door for her. Goody got out in a huff and walked up the stairs to her door. He followed quietly. The moment she got her door open, Jerrico leaned around her and looked into her living room. She did the same.
