Afraid to Dream Page 15

by Tianna Xander

Heat and need raced through my body, arcing through me like lightning when his fingers sank into the moisture between my legs. My hips bucked and jerked as his experienced fingers circled my clit while his mouth feasted on my breasts. Tendrils of desire shot from the tips of my breasts straight to my nether regions and I gasped when he bit down lightly. The pleasure-pain drove me closer to the edge. I groaned, grabbed his head and tried to pull him inside of me.

Large hands gripped my waist as he moved more securely between my legs. He pulled me closer, our bodies melding together as he probed my nether regions, begging entrance. He pressed his hard shaft against me, moaning against my breast.

"I love you, Lily," he said on a groan as he thrust himself deep within my body.

I screamed my first orgasm as his cock slammed deep into me. I felt my contracting muscles tighten and release around his huge shaft. For a moment, he rested his forehead on my chest. Perspiration poured from his face dampening my skin. "Please, Darius. Make me come. Please." I begged it of him again and again as he rocked above me with deliberate intent. He moved slowly, obviously savoring every tortuous moment.

Something new inside me raised its head and screamed. It wanted--no--it needed release and it needed it now. "Darius!" Stars burst in front of my eyes as he finally released his control and rammed his huge cock inside me over and over again.

His muscles tightened and his breathing became labored. I could feel him nearing the edge. Wrapping my legs around his waist, I pulled him to me, helping him set the pace faster and faster. Time spun away as he started to pound within me. I couldn't think. I could barely breathe. My heart beat so hard I was sure it would pound its way out of my chest. I arched my back, fighting for another climax. Still, it wouldn't come. "Darius, please. I need…I need something more." My heart raced and I was sure I would die if I didn't reach completion.

"Don't worry, my love. I know exactly what you need." He bent forward, lowering his head to mine. He kissed my shoulder and laved my neck. "You need this." Grabbing my head, he pushed my face into the crook of his neck."

My gums ached. A new set of teeth emerged in front of my incisors and pricked my tongue. His pulse beckoned me. I could actually feel the blood surging through his veins, waxing and waning through his body as his heart beat. I shook my head. "I can't."

  "You can. You must."

His tongue swirled over my collar bone and I arched up into him silently begging him to take my blood. I needed it. I needed him, every part of him.

"Do it. Do it and I shall give you everything you desire."

I couldn't bear it. I could feel it, smell it, hear it. The bloodlust grew inside me until I thought I would go mad. Finally, I gave in to the unnatural thirst that rode me so hard. Leaning up, I sank my new teeth into his neck and he groaned. Blood rushed over my tongue and I wanted to gag, to spit it out, but my body accepted it too greedily, so I accepted its demand and continued to drink.

Darius kept his word and sank his teeth into my neck. Lightning burst behind my eyelids and the world stood still. He came with me then, his hips jerking as he thrust inside, shooting his seed deep inside me.

  Chapter Sixteen

We left for our honeymoon the next morning. He'd promised to take me to Europe once I got my passport. We were pretty much landlocked to the U. S. until I got one. We went to Virginia instead. There is so much history there and I've always wanted to see it. He promised to take me wherever I wanted to go and I wanted to go to Williamsburg and Norfolk. I'd hear the largest Naval base in the world was there and I wanted to get a look. Even if we couldn't go onto the base, it would be something just to be able to say I've been there.

We arrived in Norfolk on a private jet that he'd chartered. It took a lot of convincing for him to even get me on the thing, but he managed to do it. I think the whipped cream helped. We flew past a base or two before we landed. It was something to see all those ships tethered to the piers, even from the distance we were at. Darius promised we'd fly over ourselves that night. I was still a bit too scared to change into another form, but his enthusiasm was beginning to rub off onto me.

We took a room in a nice hotel on the beach with a swimming pool we'd most likely never use and a nice Jacuzzi in the room. "Come on, slow poke. I wanna go take a walk on the beach. I've never been to the ocean before." It was different from the lakes of Michigan. The scent and churning waves of the salt water was even more soothing than the Great Lakes. I hadn't expected that.

Darius grinned, took my hand and led me from the room. "Anything you wish, courimeo."

I loved it when he called me that and I think he knew it. I grinned up at him and squeezed his fingers tight. If anyone would have told me I'd be married and this happy two months ago, I would have laughed. But here I was, walking on a beach in Virginia as happy as the proverbial clam.

Our hands swung between us as we walked along, the light growing dimmer as the sun set. One day, I'd make him take me to the West coast so I could see a sunset over the Pacific. We'd heard the sunrises on this beach were to die for. We'd just turned and headed back when we heard a scream.

"Please, leave me alone. Oh, my God! What--what are you?" The horror-filled words made my stomach clench with dread. Not here. Not now. We'd come here to get away from all of that. This was our time to get to know each other better.

"Crap. We can't even lose these things on our honeymoon."

Darius gazed down at me. His expression looked as resigned to our fate as I felt. "We must help her. You know that, my love. There is no one else close enough to aid her. I've called a few friends of mine who reside in this area, but it will take them a bit to get join us. Besides, they may need help."

I nodded with a sigh. "Yeah, I know. You have to go help her. It doesn't mean I have to like it." I was a bit selfish when it came to him. I wanted to keep him to myself. But someone was in danger. I know I'm selfish and I'm not afraid to admit it. Still, I didn't want some poor woman brutally raped by incubi just so I could have an uneventful honeymoon. I'm not that much of a bitch.

I pushed him toward the screams and turned, taking a fighting stance as the sound of feet pounding on the sand drew my attention. A girl ran toward me, a determined expression on her face. She was in such a rush she didn't see me standing in the growing darkness. I let her plow into me, taking the both of us down to the sand. I needed to stall her, to keep her from seeing the monsters I knew Darius fought just beyond our sight.

"Let me go, damn it. I have to help that woman."

"My husband is already there." I frowned, feeling a bit strange. She put out an odd energy. The same energy I felt around Cassie and her brothers. "You're a guide."

"A what?" She looked at me like she thought I'd lost my mind. "Uh, no. I'm not a tour guide. I'm a cop." She stood up and headed toward the fight Darius was engaged in. I saw his friends arrive while we were sprawled in the dirt. At least I was able to distract her long enough to miss their arrival.

Her mouth dropped open when she finally got close enough to see what they fought. "What…"

Darius and his pals beheaded the last of the strange horned creatures and threw them back through the portal they came through. Turning, they approached the woman they attacked and helped her to her feet.

"Cindra! What are you doing out here? I told you to stay inside."

The other woman rose with the help of the Cartuotey. "I know, Martie, but Sam had to go out." She gave the other woman a wry grin and tugged on the leash wrapped around her wrist and a beautiful Irish Setter came into view. "When nature calls..."

Martie shook her head. "I swear. God could have blessed me with a sister who listens." She glanced at me. "Now, what the hell are those things and don't you dare tell me you don't know."

I sighed, tempted to tell her she didn't want to know, but something in Darius's gaze stopped me. I waved my hand toward him and his friends and shook my head with disgust. "Ask the Buff Squad there. They always seem to know everything." I di
dn't know what they were either. Maybe she could get some straight answers.

"They are Mecrons. They serve the incubi." One of the men answered. He walked up to her and took a deep breath. "And you are a guide."

She backed up. "I know you didn't just sniff at me like some sort of dog." She growled when the others stepped forward eagerly. I never did figure out why they had to flaunt it when they took in a woman's scent. You'd think normal breathing would be more covert, not to mention less insulting.

They all stopped, deciding to give her some space except one. The poor idiot crowded her and took more than one long sniff. "You are a guide."

"What is it with you people?" she snarled. "I've already told your friend I'm a cop, not a guide. You would do well to remember that and stay out of my personal space."

Obviously driven by something other than his brain, the guy leaned closer and sniffed her again.

"That's it!" Backing up a few steps, she spun around and gave him a swift kick to the nose. It broke with a loud crack and I winced. The other men stood silent, gaping at her as she backed away, pulling the other woman behind her.

"That worked just the way Dad said it would. Way to go!" Cindra patted her on the back. "Wait till we get home so I can tell him." She put her nose in the air. "I'm also letting him know you're telling people you're a cop already. You know what he said about that." She rolled her eyes. "He might even get you suspended from the academy for it."

"Oh, shut up, Cindra. Tell him and I'll tell him you've been sleeping with Nicky Barker."

The other girl pressed her lips together and walked off in a huff. "Whatever."

Martie backed away from the man whose nose she broke and spread her hands out. "No hard feelings. I forgive you for sniffing me and invading my personal space and you forgive me for giving you a bloody nose. Deal?"

The man lowered his hand, the bleeding already stopped. "We shall meet again, woman." His eyes filled with determination. "Police officer or not, we shall meet again and you will not walk away from me."

She didn't walk away this time either. She ran. And if the look on the Cartuotey's face was any indication, there wasn't anywhere far enough or fast enough for her to go. But I was rooting for her to keep her independence. I really was.
