Lexie took a ball and threw it at the silly looking green alien as it went from side to side. She missed.
"Just warming up." She said and tried again. It wasn't until the fourth go that she hit it, and only just.
Sam laughed at her. "I don't think I'll have to feel bad about anything. Maybe you should raise your arm slightly on the next go. It'll give you more reach."
"You worry about yourself." She retorted, taking her aim.
"A little to the left." Sam leaned in, purposely trying to put her off as he did this tsking thing every time she went to throw. She missed again on the other attempts. On the last, she held off while he laughed.
"Laugh all you want. If I win, we go back to the boat and watch Casablanca."
"Casablanca? Lexie, that's the most interesting prize you can think of? Besides, that's your last ball, and you've only hit that damned thing once."
She shook her head at him and decided she had to get another hit. Hoisting the ball over her head, she aimed and hit the alien straight in the stomach.
"Yay me," she cried jumping up and down. Now all she had to do was distract him so he wouldn't win.
Unfortunately, Sam hit the alien with the first five balls with no effort at all. He looked at her smugly. "Should I continue?"
"Sure." She nodded.
He aimed the next ball.
"I don't know why I missed so many. Guess that's what happens when you don't wear underwear." She teased speaking low, so only he could hear her. He threw the ball but his aim went completely off, and he missed. He looked at her sharply, then down at her skirt, his gaze turning hot.
"Really?" He looked her over seductively, and that sexual magnetism that emitted from him drew her in, encouraging her to continue.
She lowered her voice, even more, leaned closer and said, "or it could be my nipple rings." She pretended to adjust her bra.
"That's it. I win. Five two. Let's go."
Before she could protest, he grabbed her arm and pulled her away.
"Didn't you want to finish the game, to be sure you won?"
He looked at her like she'd said something totally bizarre, which she supposed she had. "Like hell, besides I won the game after the third hit. I'm claiming my prize now."
"You didn't say what you wanted."
He stopped abruptly bringing her to a stop and stared down at her, his expression slightly annoyed at her remark. "Lexie. I think it's obvious that the only thing I want right now is you. That later we were talking about starts now." The underlying sensuality of his words transfixed her.
"Okay." She replied in a meek voice, answering quickly over her rapidly beating heart. She wanted him too and was happy to hear that later had arrived. She'd never wanted anything in her life more than she wanted him right now. Nothing at all. A sly grin lifted the corners of his mouth as he looked at her and tightened his hold on her hand.
They continued to the boat, and he took hold of her the minute they boarded, lifting her up and moving with her over to the wall in the lounge where he kissed her hungrily. She didn't even have a chance to catch her breath or steady her wild beating heart as it pounded within her chest. Lexie thought she would pass out from the pleasure as she felt his touch everywhere. She smoothed her hands over him and threaded her fingers through his hair, relishing its silky feel against her fingertips. Relishing the feel of him, and that she was finally with him. He'd been a dream to her twelve years ago, but this was all real. He was real, and right now he was hers.
She rested her head against the wall as he moved his lips over her jaw and trailed across her neck to her ear.
"You taste so good." He whispered into her ear.
"You taste good too." She managed, speaking in a broken whisper.
She continued to indulge on the kisses he placed over her neck and steadied her breath as he smoothed his hands over her breasts, squeezing her gently.
As he ran his fingers over her nipples and held her in place the small awareness, she still had told her he must have been feeling for the elusive nipple ring she'd teased him about.
She caught his hand as he started pulling her top up, for the fear that he'd be disappointed.
"Wait." Her voice broke.
"What?" He winced beaming down at her with hungry eyes. "Lexie, I lost any shred of will power the minute we came through that door. Please don't tell me you want to stop. If you do, I'll have to find a hotel."
She giggled. "No, I don't want to stop. It's just that...I don't really have nipple rings. I was just teasing you." She pressed her lips together.
He looked at her for a moment and then started to laugh. "I kind of guessed that."
"I don't want you to be disappointed."
He shook his head, holding her gaze. "Never Lexie. Never."
She smiled up at him as he lowered to kiss her again, and laughed as he lifted her and placed her on the dining table where he worked her top over her head. With one quick snap, he undid the black butterfly clasp to her bra allowing her breasts to spill out, making her feel nervous and so very self-conscious.
He looked at her as if he were photographing her, scanning her to his memory like he didn't want her to forget. His gaze took in her eyes, dropped to her shoulders, then fixed on her breasts again.
"You're perfect." He breathed staring deep into her eyes with his emerald gaze. Her mouth opened but no words came.
She'd been called many things in her life, but perfect had never been one of them. His words struck her deep within her soul, and it was all she could do to hold on to her emotions.
Her nipples hardened as he circled his fingers around them, stroking the skin there. Then she watched as he lowered to suck her right breast with his hot wet mouth, circling her nipple with his tongue. Insanity threatened to take her as he alternated between sucking each breast and waves of undiluted pleasure rushed over her.
Uncontrollable moans escaped her lips when he kissed his way down to her thighs and ran his big warm hands right up her legs pushing her skirt up to her hips. He nibbled along her inner thigh, setting her nerves on fire there too then up he went until he hooked the lace of her black panties under his fingers.
"Lace," Sam gave her a saucy smile. Oh, she'd forgotten the no underwear joke.
"That was part of the teasing," she giggled.
"Well, I get to take these off myself."
"Wait." She had ideas of her own too.
He narrowed his eyes at her. "What now woman? I've waited twelve years for this moment."
"I want to see where the dragon tattoo leads." She tugged on the end of his shirt. Here she was basically naked, and he was still fully clothed.
"But you're my winnings, and I have lots of exploring to do."
Lexie smiled. "You have all week to explore me."
He grinned on hearing that. "Okay Lexie, but I won't have any more control once I show you."
She immediately became more curious. "I'll take my chances."
She melted as she watched him pull his t-shirt over his head revealing his amazing muscles, and those tattoos. Her eyes took in the definition of every single muscle of his perfect body and the deep hue of the black ink on each tattoo. She looked to where the dragon's tail curved at the base of his flat stomach and disappeared beneath his waist band. As he undid the zipper to his jeans, more of the dragon became visible. When the jeans slipped down his sculptured legs, and when he pulled down his boxers Lexie froze.
Her eyes trailed from the artistic definition of the tattoo that went all along his hips and stopped at the edge of his pelvis. She then took in the sight of his impressive erection.
Wow.
Not that she would say anything, but neither of her sisters would believe her if she told them this. She could barely believe that this was all happening herself and that she hadn't fallen asleep and into a dream.
Sam oozed sexual energy, its vapors came through his pores and surrounded him in a hazy cloud, just like it would in a dream.
Sh
e didn't even see where he'd gotten the condom packet from, but suddenly he was tearing it open and removing the condom to place it on himself. Lexie was on birth control and trusted him enough to use just that, but it was an absolute turn on to watch him roll the latex down the full length of his shaft.
"You ready doll?" His voice broke with huskiness and the smoldering flame she saw in his eyes intensified.
Lexie was powerless to the pull of passion. All she could do was nod. For him, she would always be ready, even if she couldn't speak.
He took hold of her thighs again so he could ease her panties down her legs. "Keep that on. It's sexy." Her skirt.
She giggled a little at that but soon became engaged in the passion when he lifted her on to himself and slid into her. She opened her mouth and gasped as he buried deeper, then deeper. Feeling completely overwhelmed she cried out from the intense pleasure and momentary pain.
"Are you okay?" He sounded panicked. She held on to him breathing heavily. "Did I hurt you?"
She shook her head. "No, I'm okay. Please, don't stop. Make love to me Sam," she breathed.
"With pleasure." He gave her that sexy half smile as he began to move inside her, pumping slowly.
Hunger matched hunger as their bodies moved together as one. Passion pounded the blood through her heart, coursing it throughout her body as his touch sent her to higher levels of ecstasy. The world spun, careening on its axis out of existence as she was drawn to a height of passion she'd never known.
Her mind left her body as he gripped tighter on to her waist, half holding and half resting her on the table as he pumped even harder, desire rising with each breath. Filling her and stripping away everything but her need for him. Her entire body shuddered against him, head tilting back in shivering elation as blistering pleasure seized her and rushed over her like fire on gasoline.
This was ultimate pleasure. Her body was awashed with overlapping waves of it, rippling throughout her. Soaring higher until the peak of delight was reached and exploded in a downpour of fiery sensations that flowed between them.
A deep primal groan escaped Sam's throat, and he gripped on to her thighs, pulling her closer as a deep shudder ran through him, then he stilled.
They were covered in sweat, Lexie's hair was damp with it, and it ran down her neck. Sam set her back on the table and rested his chin against the top of her head while she buried her face against his throat
She could feel his uneven breath against her forehead as he held her close, and she locked herself within his embrace. The pounding of his heart matched the drumming in her ears, and her skin was tingling so much she thought she could see it vibrating from the fire that still rushed over it.
"Lexie." She looked up at him as he cupped her face. "You okay?"
Okay was an understatement. "Better." She managed. He smiled and lowered to kiss her.
"Should we go try out the shower?"
"Uh-huh," she replied smiling up at him.
She laughed as he swooped her up and carried her to the shower where he made love to her again. It was like they'd fallen into some sort of enchantment where they couldn't get enough of each other.

Sam watched Lexie with deep fascination as she slept against his chest, she'd snuggled against him with their legs intertwined. He was afraid to sleep in case he woke up and found that none of this was real and that the happiness he'd experienced with her would vanish once he closed his eyes.
He couldn't believe the way he was feeling. It was clear that only she held some mystical key that could open the door to his closed heart and go straight to his soul.
Maybe he was crazy. Maybe he should be thinking more logically instead of getting caught up in his feelings for her. But he couldn't help it. Now that he was with her he wouldn't have wanted it any other way. And if he was serious about her, which he was, he'd need to talk to her about things he didn't want to talk about. He needed to tell her about Amy and everything that had happened to him.
Just the thought of it all weakened him.
Lexie stirred against his chest, running her fingers along his sternum and lifting her head so she could look at him. The mix of soft moonlight and the dim amber night light in the cabin was bright enough to show him the cool pink color that filled out her cheeks.
"Sam." She breathed as a smile brightened her face.
"Hey." He touched her face and ran his finger along her cheek savoring the feel of her smooth skin and her beauty.
"I'm sorry I fell asleep." Her fingers lingered on his chest.
"Don't be. You'll need your strength for later." He teased. She smiled coyly. "Lexie you can't stay awake all night."
"I can try. You're awake."
"Just watching over you." He wrapped a lock of her velvet hair around his fingers. "In case pirates come aboard and try to steal you away from me."
She laughed. "You're so funny." She gazed up at him, and concern filled her fine features. "Sam... are you okay?"
"Oh no, do I look that bad? I forgot to warn you that after midnight I look like a ghoul." It was easier to joke than to talk about what was on his mind.
"You couldn't look like a ghoul even if you were one." She caressed his jaw. "Something's on your mind." She searched his eyes.
He was doing his best to hide his worries, but she could see he wasn't himself. "It's nothing, I promise." He raised her hand to his lips and kissed her delicate fingers. She held on to his hand and brought it up to her face. "A story for another time. Not tonight."
He shouldn't have said anything because she looked worried now. She sat up pulling the white cotton sheets over her breasts.
"Is it me?"
He smiled easing onto his elbows. "No, it's not you. It's just..." he thought a moment as he twisted his finger around her hair again.
No. He didn't want to ruin the perfect night he had with her. And, he doubted that it would be appropriate, no matter how bad Jessica was, to talk about one woman while you were in bed with another. Especially if that other was the one you were completely crazy about.
"It's just stuff." He decided to say.
"Stuff?" She gazed up at him with concern.
"Chicago stuff, nothing to worry about." He stroked the side of her face.
"Are you sure?"
"Uh huh, right now I'm kind of stuck on how much I like Lexie Ramone, and I'm hoping that she likes me too."
He watched in fascination as her face lit up. "Yes." She nodded. "I know she like's Sam St. John a lot. She always has." She leaned forward and kissed him softly.
"Always?"
"Always."
"Come here." He pulled her back into his arms to rest on his chest.
The sweet smell of roses filled him as he nuzzled his chin on the top of her head and his heart lifted as she ran her fingers across his chest, tracing the outline of one of the tattoos she seemed so fascinated with.
When her hand stilled after a few minutes and her breathing steadied he knew she was asleep again. Then his thoughts went right back to pondering about the way he was starting to feel about her.
Chapter 18
The next few days were truly and completely perfect.
Lexie's time with Sam was intriguing, and each day was filled with magic, excitement, and adventure. The world faded away, and all that existed was him.
She enjoyed him and enjoyed feeling like it was okay to truly live and be happy with the man of her dreams. During the days they explored the sea, where they anchored near beautiful coves so they could dive and look at the wondrous seabed. There Sam collected all sorts of shells for her and shared his love for the open sea. It didn't take long to see the world through his eyes.
Their nights were spent making passionate love. And... so were their mornings when they woke up.
Reality hit on their last day, and as they pulled back into the marina in San Francisco Bay, Lexie felt sad. Their little adventure with all its wonder, excitement, and passion was over. All they were left wi
th was a dreary Sunday afternoon where they were supposed to go their separate ways.
When they were on the boat, they were together, and it was just them. Now they were back to their hectic lives that usually kept them apart.
As she watched him tie the ropes to the dock, she wondered what would happen now. She smiled as he turned to face her, not wanting to spoil the time they had left by looking worried.
He walked up to her, and gave her a sweet kiss, lingering on her lips as he said, "I owe you lunch, and I should really make sure you have dinner. How about spending the rest of the day with me?"
She gazed up at him and smiled at the thought of being with him for longer. "I'd love to." Her heart swelled.
They went to his penthouse apartment which was completely breathtaking. It was located just on the edge of the city in the Pegasus Tower, one of the most sought after apartments in San Francisco. It was the kind of place she could get fascinated with because of the stylish interior, but only managed to see bits of it before they ended up in his bed.
Lexie never went home that night.
On Monday morning they woke at the sound of his alarm. She was draped over him with the sheets barely covering their legs. She ran her hands over the deep muscles of his abs up to his chest where he caught her hand and kissed her knuckles.
"Baby don't tempt me." He chuckled with his eyes still closed.
"I was just touching." She giggled lifting her head, allowing her hair to spill over his chest.
"Exactly."
The alarm sounded again.
"It's a work day isn't it?"
"Yes, it is." She wished she could turn the clock back to last week when they were still on the boat.
"Not going." He said slyly as he took hold of her waist. Just as he rolled her on to her back and lowered to kiss the swells of her breast the door burst open.
"Sam, don't you eat breakfast anymore?" Zane came in holding an empty box of Wheaties. "There's no... oh damn."
Lexie shrieked and just about managed to grab the sheet to cover herself while Sam shielded her. She was covered, but she was certain Zane must have seen some part of her.
