Night Time Rendez-Vous: 3 sizzling novellas that will keep you up all night Page 18

by Eddie Cleveland

Easy for her to say. She’s been the center of attention since birth and has loved every second of it. In high school she surrounded herself with boys the same way I surrounded myself in books. With her bleach-blond hair and ocean-blue eyes, she’s had every guy fawning over her forever. Most of them were idiots and douchebags, so it’s not like I was ever jealous.

Except for one. She dated a boy for almost a year in her sophomore year and it was the only time I almost drowned in envy. I remember how painful it was to watch her with him, Jaxon Vanier, when all my greedy thoughts were consumed by him. Even though he was her longest relationship, that wasn’t saying a whole lot. She still used him up and spat him out before they hit the twelve-month mark. And she had cheated on him a lot earlier than that.

“I know it’s the point. I just don’t have the same confidence you do. You could wear a garbage bag and it would look good on you. It’s not that easy for me,” I explain.

“It’s true.” Her eyes travel over my outfit and I wish I could crumple up like a ball and avoid her judgmental gaze. “I guess every genetic lottery has winners and losers.” She snaps her eyes back to her own reflection and slowly runs her fingertip over her glossy lip.

It’s actually really perfect that she’s dressed up as “sexy Elsa” from Frozen. Just like Elsa, she’s drop dead gorgeous. And just like Elsa she’s an ice queen.

“Look, Halloween is the perfect time to dress sexy and be someone else. In your case, anyone else would be better.” She doesn’t even blink as she verbally jabs me. Neither do I. The sad truth is, after a lifetime of being her younger sister, I’m used to it. “Catwoman is the way to go, trust me. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even pick up a guy for once? But either way, I’m not going to sit here all night being your cheerleader, okay? Pick an outfit and let’s get in there before I miss the whole party.” She sniffs.

She may be bitchy, but she’s right. I didn’t force myself out of my comfort zone and come to this party tonight so I could keep doing what I’ve always done and keep getting the results I’ve always gotten. And those results? They’re nothing. No dates. No men. No sex. Just nothing. When Susan told me about this party I asked if I could tag along. I was as surprised as she was to hear the request fall from my lips. But I know I need a change, and what better night than on Halloween to reinvent yourself.

“Okay, let’s go.” I sigh heavily. Swinging the car door open, I take in the people heading toward the front door of the house and gulp. Panic swells inside me as my brave front quickly cracks and my confidence crumbles. “Nope, change of plans. You go in. Maybe I’ll just stay in the car.” I try to sit back in my seat and Susan gives me a sharp look.

“Addison, enough of this. Here, for the love of God, just wear this!” She flings the back door of the car open and grabs my Darth Vader mask in her hands, stomping over to me. She thunks it down on my head, over my cat mask with the little ears on top with a thud and her shrill tone is instantly more bearable.

“There you go. Now you’re a sexy Darth Vader. Can we go now?” She squints at me through the eyeholes of my helmet.

Somehow the heavy plastic surrounding my head makes me feel like I’m more removed from all of this. Like I’m in my own world and not as nervous about people judging me. Even though Susan didn’t really mean to help me, she did.

“This is perfect.” I smile. Not that she can see it. My nerves settle as I let the butterflies in my belly flutter away. Throwing back my shoulders and pushing out my breasts, I hold my head high—I mean, my mask high—and walk next to my sister into the party.

  Chapter 2 - Jaxon

“Dude! Looking buff. I told you my Batman costume would fit ya.” Todd smiles at me. “And the ladies go craaa-zy for the built-in abs. Lemme tell ya. It was almost enough to get me eating right and working out after I saw the power of the pack.” He leans back against the wall and the bright circles he’s glued to his white shirt and white pants make a crinkling sound.

“I didn’t really need the foam muscles. I mean, I know I’ve been benched for the season, but I still hit the gym and all that.”

His costume is ridiculous, with two green circles covering each pec, two yellow ones over his ribs, and two blue on each side of his belly button. It’s weird. But the strangest is definitely the one giant red circle cut from construction paper that he’s glued to the crotch of his pants. “Man, what are you supposed to be?”

He lifts up a homemade spinner with a pie chart that has tiny slivers for every color but red and points to the word he wrote on the bottom. “I’m a human twister board. I just need to figure out which chicks will wanna spin the arrow and play.” He chuckles.

I’ve gotta hand it to him, he’s…creative.

I shake my head and smile. “Yeah, let me know how that works out for you.”

“Are you kidding? I bet by the end of tonight I have at least two girls ready and willing to play on my board, ya know what I mean? A couple of ladies massaging the red dot, huh? Huh? What I mean is they’ll be playing with my dick.” He points with both hands at his pronounced circle as he thrusts out his hips and bites his lip in an exaggerated sex face.

“Unless that little spinner hypnotizes people, I wouldn’t count on it.” I laugh.

“No, Jaxon, I’m serious. Halloween is like when women just go nuts. There’s something about it that makes their horny, crazy side come out. Look around the room, man. Every chick here is dressed up as some kind of sexy version of something. Whoever invented this night was a genius. When you’re a kid, you get to stay out late and collect candy all night and then when you grow up you get to stay out late for an entirely different sweet treat. The only difference is you can eat it all that night and you don’t get a stomachache.” He bobs his head, smiling proudly at his analogy.

“Yeah, well, I’m not sure if I’ll be dipping my fingers in the candy bowl tonight. But still, thanks for getting me out. I know I’m only back in town for a bit, and I’ve been in such a funk. It’s shitty to spend your whole life working toward playing college football and then get benched in your first real season.”

Todd walks me over to a table full of liquor and pours a couple of cold ones into some red solo cups for us from the keg tap. “I hear ya. That’s a rough break. That’s why I figured you could use a night out for some fun. I’m glad you came.” He claps my shoulder enthusiastically.

“Me too. Can you do me a favor, though? I’d rather not deal with a ton of football questions tonight. Do you mind keeping it on the low that I’m here?” I take a refreshing sip of my beer and wipe the foamy moustache it leaves behind from my upper lip.

“Bro! Of course I’d never share your secret identity.” He smirks. “Your secret’s safe with me…Bruce Wayne.” He gives me a theatrical wink. I can’t help but laugh. “Yo, look at those two.” He nods at the door where a woman wearing a Darth Vader helmet and a skintight, black leather bodysuit walks in.

I’m drawn in by her quirky costume. It captures my attention so well that it takes me longer than it should to realize that right on her hip is a woman I’m very familiar with. My ex-girlfriend.

  “Great,” I mutter.

“I think I just found a couple test subjects to spin the Twister arrow.” Todd throws back the rest of his beer and starts to walk over with some swagger no man dressed like him should ever have.

“No, wait.” I grab his arm and yank him back.

“Dude, don’t be a red circle block.”

The women walk a few feet inside when Susan, my ex, blows up at the other girl. I can see from the way sexy Darth Vader slumps her shoulders that whatever she said was cutting. They each split to opposite sides of the room, the one who just suffered Susan’s wrath standing awkwardly by the snack table.

“Go test your Twister idea on her.” I point to whatever princess Susan is supposed to be dressed as. “But I’d like to talk to Vader.”

“Ahhh, why didn’t you say so? You got it, bro. Go get freaky!” He nudges me in the r
ibs and I walk away. I like the idea that Susan is here and she has no idea. What I like even more is the idea of getting to know the woman she just dismissed rudely.

I cut through the crowd and slide up by the bowls of chips and dip, next to the mystery woman.

  “Hey.”

  Chapter 3 - Addison

I stare down at the bowl brimming full of Cheetos I can’t eat. Clearly I didn’t think this whole Darth Vader helmet thing through. Maybe my sister is right. I don’t belong here. You can take a girl outta the library, but you can’t shake the quiet escape of the library from the girl. I’m out of my depth here. I should probably leave.

  “Hey.”

I lift my gaze to tall Batman, with the broad shoulders and familiar blue eyes. Searching the empty space on each side of me, it takes me a second to realize he’s actually talking to me.

“Oh, uh, hey yourself.” I try to sound confident, but just come off as a little annoyed.

“I’ve gotta say, I’ve seen a lot of Star Wars costumes, but this has never been one of them.” He grins at me. “I know for Halloween there’s a sexed up version of just about everything, but Vader? Is nothing sacred?” he teases me.

“What can I say? I think the sexy Leila thing has been done to death.” I nervously pick up a handful of Cheetos I can’t eat and start to lift one to my mouth before realizing my mistake and staring down at it defeated.

Batman laughs. “It’s going to be pretty hard to eat with that on.” His fingers tap the side of my mask and underneath the black plastic I smile.

  “That’s fine. I shouldn’t eat them anyway.” I shrug.

“Well, how am I going to get you a drink if you have no way to use your mouth?” His eyes twinkle and for a moment I’m lost in a sea of blue. I feel like I’ve stared into these eyes before, but I can’t imagine how or when.

“I’ll just have to use the Force or something.” I try to make a joke, but I can see he doesn’t get it.

“Huh? What did you want to drink?” He leans into me and even through this confining helmet, I can smell his musk. It transports me to a different time in my life. Back when my sister was both my biggest enemy and my hero. Back when books were my salvation from high school drama and braces hid my smile. It’s weird how nostalgia works. I know I hated that time in my life. I loathed it. Yet, a simple smell can make me wish for those innocent and less complicated days.

“Drink? Oh, um, maybe a vodka cranberry? I’m not sure what they have here,” I ramble.

“I’m sorry, I’m trying to understand you, but you sound like you’re trapped in a galaxy far, far away,” he teases.

I can’t help but laugh. The tension I’ve been holding inside starts to melt. Like the icy mountains of snow in the winter that finally give way and reveal tiny blossoming spring flowers underneath. Maybe this wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

  “Sorry.”

“No, don’t be. I was just wondering. Is there any way you’d be willing to ditch the helmet for a bit? I’d love to talk to you.”

I peer up at Batman. I let my gaze travel over his tight body, and I don’t mean the way the padding pushes out in his costume. I mean the way his pants cling to his thighs and reveal a hefty bulge between his legs. My thighs clench together and heat rushes to my pussy.

“I think I can lose the helmet,” I agree. I lay my hands flat on either side and begin to slowly pull it up. As the world comes into clearer focus and I’m able to breathe easier, Batman begins to laugh. And I don’t mean a little dry chuckle. I mean he’s laughing so hard people around us are beginning to stare.

“You’re hilarious.” He rests his hand on my shoulder, like his laughing fit might actually knock him down to the floor.

“What?” I tilt my head, puzzled at what he’s cracking up about.

“You’re wearing a mask under your helmet? That’s awesome!” His fingers brush over my Catwoman mask and my eyes go wide. I completely forgot I even had it on.

“Come on, wait, what’s your name?” He smiles down at me.

“Um, how about you just call me Catwoman for now?”

“Sure, why not? It’s a perfect match, right? Catwoman and Batman.” He shrugs nonchalantly. “All right, Catwoman, how about I get you a drink?” He gently tugs my arm and leads me across the room.

  Chapter 4 - Jaxon

“A vodka cranberry for you.” I hand the sexy Catwoman the cocktail and take a drink of my beer as I let my gaze slowly travel over her body like I’d like my tongue to. I stare at the way her tits are pressed up in her leather corset. Her short leather skirt keeps teasing me, barely covering her plump ass. When women do the whole sexy Catwoman thing, they usually do a full bodysuit or at least leather pants and a skintight shirt. However, I like the way she’s got her sheer, black thigh-high stockings snugly pulled up just below her skirt hemline. I like the studded high heels she’s wearing. It’s all so much sexier than just a pair of pants.

“So, Batman,” she purrs and runs her fingers down my arm, “I wonder if I know who you are in real life,” she muses.

“I doubt it.” I shrug. “I haven’t lived here in years and years.” I flex my bicep as she lets her hands explore my arm. I like that she’s flirty, but it’s driving me crazy. I want an excuse to touch her, to pull her in close and breathe her deep into my lungs. I want to slide my hands over her curves. I want to pull up that little skirt and…

“Wanna dance?” I don’t wait for her to respond. Instead, I put my drink down on the edge of the table and lift her hand in mine, leading her over to the bodies grinding and writhing against each other to the music in the middle of the floor.

As the beat thumps in our ears, I slip my hand around her waist and pull her in close to me. When she steps into me, straddling my leg and looking at me with the warmest brown eyes I’ve ever seen, I feel a strange tingle of déjà vu. I stop and look at her. My mystery woman. The sexiest girl in this entire place.

“What’s wrong?” She flutters her lashes up at me.

“Wrong? Not a single thing.” I yank her in tight and she gasps as my thick thigh thrusts up between her legs and rests against her pussy. “Let’s dance.” I sway her back and forth on my leg to the song and she throws her head back and smiles. When she meets my eyes, I can see something entirely different than the warmth I just saw dancing in them.

  Desire.

Catwoman bites her crimson lip and my mind flashes to her on her knees, those red lips sealed tight around my thick cock. It throbs against my tight pants as I picture her looking up at me from the floor with that same eager need in her eyes. My dick sliding deeper into her mouth as she keeps her eyes on mine.

I blink hard and force myself back from the fantasy. The last thing I need to do is get completely hard out here in front of everyone while dancing with this beautiful girl. This isn’t like some kind of junior high dance where a girl just looking at me was enough to make my pants tent. Not that I’d know anything about that personally. I’ve just heard that happened to some guys.

“The song is over.” Catwoman’s smile brings me back into focus and I realize the music has changed to some kind of fast, boppy beat and I’m still grind dancing with her like we’re in a dark club where no one can see what I’m doing.

“Oh, shit. Sorry.” I stand up straight and she takes a step back from me.

Catwoman slides her hands down over her skirt and tries to maintain the little modesty the leather is providing. My eye falls on the little wet patch on my thigh. A small spot where my thigh was pushed up against her proves that I’m not the only one who’s been thinking dirty thoughts.

I should get her out of here. We can have a little party just for two. Of course, my version doesn’t involve any costumes. Although, that could be fun too…

“Hey! Catwoman, come dance with me,” some guy in a cowboy costume that makes him look like a doll slurs his words.

She looks over at me and then back at him, her back tensing up tight. “Nah, thanks. I’m good
.”

“Oh, come on! Aren’t cats supposed to like trees? Well, I’m Woody.” He laughs as though what he’s saying is funny. He’s too drunk and not making any sense. “And I’ve got some extra wood right here you can climb up onto.” He grabs his junk.

“Hey, she’s not interested, bud, back the fuck off.” I swoop in next to them and my cape literally flaps out behind me like I’m trying to save the day.

“Oh fuck, what am I gonna do? It’s Batman.” He holds up his hands and laughs. “Come on, say it.” He juts out his chin. “Say it, man.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“Say ‘I’m Batman.’ Do it.” He laughs.

My mysterious Catwoman has had enough of this guy and she takes off across the floor. I watch as she walks out the living room door and down the hallway.

“Fuck off, man.” I shake my head at the guy who missed his real calling. He should’ve dressed up as a damned clown.

I walk away from him and rush out into the hall to find her. I see her slip into one of the bedrooms past the bathroom and I follow her.

“Say it, dude!” I can hear the idiot in the living room yelling. “I’m Batman!”

  Chapter 5 - Addison

My heart pounding, I push the bedroom door open and step inside. Heat spills over my cheeks as I look around the bedroom I have no business being in and try to clear my racing thoughts.

You wanted a night where you could live a fantasy, right? You wanted to be able to dig down and grab the wild girl inside that you never let yourself be and bring her out. Well, this is your chance.

“Hey, uh, Catwoman? Don’t let that dick ruin our night. He’s just an idiot.” My masked hero follows me into the room.

He closes the space between us, walking up behind me and sliding his arms around my waist. I turn away, breaking free from his embrace, and start to walk away from him.
