Man of the House: An Older Man Younger Woman Romance Page 117

by Sarah Rowling

“Laura!” Her name was called out again, this time, louder and closer.

She exited the stable doors to find her father standing just a few feet away with a lantern in his hand. His expression was cold and angered and his stance one that let her know he was disappointed in her in some way.

“What were you doing in the stables?” He asked.

Her heart raced as she feared that Martin had gone against his promise to keep quiet and told his story about Billy to her father.

“I was visiting Queen,” she murmured.

  “To the house,” Mac ordered.

  Chapter Three

Mac’s face was blood red as she entered the house. Clara gave her a glance that told her she should be worried and then disappeared into the kitchen.

“What has gotten into you?” Mac asked.

Laura wasn’t sure what he was referring to, what he knew, or what Martin had told him.

“Nothing.” She answered, her eyes drifting to the floor.

“I saw Martin leaving,” Mac said sternly.

“You didn’t talk to him?” Laura asked.

“No, he didn’t bother to say goodbye, so I can only assume you were rude to the man again,” Mac said.

Laura felt relief fall over her as she realized Martin had not shown her father his bruised face or spun him a tall tale about how he acquired it.

“He is a crude man!” Laura scoffed.

“Crude?” Mac asked, his eyes softening on his daughter.

Laura felt her skin begin to crawl as her anxiety took over. She wanted to tell her father about Martin, but feared he would still believe him over her, at least enough to fire Billy, even if it got her out of the marriage.

“He knows I don’t want to marry him, so why does he continue to pursue me?” She asked.

“Don’t you think he may only be interested in taking over the ranch?” Laura asked.

Her father’s eyes looked curious for a moment as if he were ready to entertain her thoughts. As quickly as they seemed as though they believed her, they turned black and cold again.

She knew her father was a proud man, and admitting that he made a mistake about something wasn’t in his nature, especially when it came to family or his business, and Martin would be a mistake on both parts.

“His loyalty to me is strong. He only wants to please me,” Mac said firmly.

“I warned him you were stubborn as a mule,” Mac added.

Laura felt the tears welling up in her eyes at her father’s words. It was evident he was unwilling to believe that Martin was anything other than what he thought. There was no way she would convince him that he forced himself on her if he decided to twist the story in his favor and throw Billy to the wolves.

Her overwhelming need to protect the boy she had just shared such a passionate kiss with, the one who helped her, rescued her and showed her such kindness was more than she could bear.

“I’ll never marry him!” Laura said as her tears fell from her eyes to her cheeks.

“Marriage or not, he is running the ranch, and I am traveling as planned,” Mac said sternly.

Laura felt her fists tighten by her sides as she stared into her father’s darkened eyes.

“And what am I supposed to do as he takes over?” Laura asked.

“That, my dear, would be up to him. As you have said time and time again, you can take care of yourself,” Mac said with a condescending tone.

Laura wanted to blurt out to her father that Martin was nothing more than an animal. She wanted him to know that in his absence, he would surely have his way with her and that her misery and suffering would be on his hands, but she couldn’t.

“Mother would never stand for this,” she said in anger.

“Your mother isn’t here, she left us, remember?” Mac said.

She watched as her father’s dark eyes turned light and his expression softened. She knew he was hurt by her mother’s illness and angry that it had taken her from him, from them. Even so, his words were hurtful and harsh, causing Laura to let loose of her tears and give up on her battle against the man who seemed more angry than rational.

His determination to leave the ranch to Martin, whether he was family or not left her without an argument, and without hope that she would ever make him believe that the man was a savage beast, not the loyal lamb her father thought.

She turned and ran towards the kitchen, pushing the door open and throwing herself into the chair at the table where Myra and Myrna sat peeling apples for the pies they planned to bake.

“What’s wrong child?” Clara asked, her hand on her shoulder behind her.

Laura let her sobs loose. Her head fell to her hands, and she worked hard to speak but was unable to through her cries.

Clara rubbed her back gently. Her hands pushed her fallen hair from her face as she let her get out her anguish.

Clara had been her only motherly figure since she was just a girl. When her father sunk into his work after her mother passed, Clara had been the one to comfort Laura. She felt it was no different now, her father was not going to soothe her pain or listen to her pleas, he was only going to move ahead with his plan to see the world and find a new bride, replacing both her and her mother in one swoop.

  Chapter Four

The back door opened, and Billy peeked inside. Clara moved from Laura and quickly grabbed the bowl of bruised apples he came to collect for the horses.

“Are you ok Miss Elkridge?” he asked gingerly.

Laura lifted her head from her hands and stared at the boy she had become enamored with, her savior and her reason for the protection that threatened her freedom.

He moved into the kitchen, his hand quickly taking the place of Clara’s on her back.

“Did you tell him?” He asked softly.

“No,” Laura said through her sobs.

Clara looked at her with confusion, Myra and Myrna both remained silent as they watched the interaction between the two.

Laura’s hand reached up to her shoulder and pressed against Billy’s.

“You have to tell him,” Billy encouraged.

  “I can’t,” she sobbed.

Clara rushed the boy away from Laura and out the door before they could say any more. Her eyes were heavy with confusion and disappointment as she sat at the table next to Laura.

“What was that about now?” Clara asked.

Laura felt her heart pounding in her chest as she began to speak. She had never kept anything from Clara, and the look in her eyes told her this was going to be no different. The woman had a way of getting her to speak her mind, even when she didn’t want to.

Laura spoke softly while Clara listened without words. She told her how Martin had pushed her to the ground, forcing himself on her and declaring that he would steal her virtue making her unappealing to any other man.

“Why wouldn’t you tell your daddy child?” Clara asked.

“Billy knocked him from me with a fence post, hurting him pretty badly,” Laura said.

Clara’s eyes widened and her lips curled into a smile.

  “Good for him!” She exclaimed.

“So, you have a witness, let’s get this lewd man out of your life and your father’s before he takes over,” Myrna said.

Clara gripped Laura’s hands tightly in hers and smiled softly as she looked into her eyes. If anyone knew what Laura was going through, it was Clara. She understood Mac Elkridge and how his pride could get in his way. Working on the ranch for so many years she had seen time and time again how easy it was for the help to be discarded when they were thought to be more trouble than they were worth.

“You’re protecting Billy?” She asked softly.

“Yes,” Laura said through her sobs.

“That is noble of you child, but you have to tell him,” she said sternly.

Laura was shocked that Clara would opt for her to risk Billy’s job. She was the one who had told her of his troubles, and how he needed this job to help care for
his parents.

“Child, I know you like the boy, and it is obvious he likes you, but this is your livelihood, your future, and all of ours,” Clara said.

Laura told her how her father declared that Martin would take over the ranch even if she refused to marry him. Her father had made up his mind, and the women at that table knew that once Mac Elkridge made up his mind, that was it.

Clara was furious as she ranted about Martin and how she refused to work for a man if his

  low caliber.

“You can’t leave me,” Laura said, worried.

“Child, if you stay, he will surely have you as his whore, you’re as foolish as your father says if you believe different,” Clara said.

  “Then I’ll leave,” Laura declared.

Clara wrapped her arms around her, pulling her tightly into her chest.

“Might be better to marry him, just to keep your inheritance,” Myrna murmured.

Clara’s eyes were heavy on Laura’s as Myrna spoke. Laura could tell that the idea Myrna spoke of wasn’t as far-fetched in her mind as it were her own.

Laura wanted to blurt out that she was in love with Billy but knew the women would only find her silly.

She didn’t even know this boy, but her heart was already finding more loyalty towards him than her own self. She was willing to sacrifice everything for him, even her own happiness.

Billy stuck his head back in the door. “I forgot the apples,” he said bashfully.

Clara gripped the bag and walked it towards the door, blocking him from entering.

She handed him the bag, his eyes were heavy on Laura’s as hers were on him.

Clara watched them, closely paying attention to how Laura lingered on him and how he hesitated to leave once he had what he had come for.

“Can we talk?” He asked softly.

Laura moved her chair back and started to stand. Clara pushed Billy back out the door, her eyes glaring at Laura as she did.

“I think you best get back to the stables,” Clara said.

Laura watched as Billy looked towards her. She could see his heart in the blue of his eyes swelling for her as he let Clara push him back into the dark of the night.

“You need to think about yourself child,” Clara said.

“I’ll stand by your side and tell your father the truth about Martin Adler,” she said.

Laura knew the word of Clara was as good as Billy’s. She was only the help in her father’s eyes, and the close bond she had created with the woman would only be viewed as a motive for her to lie for her. She had made it clear she didn’t want to marry Martin, even before this night. Her father would see it as an attempt to get out of the marriage, and the help deceiving him in order to do so. She knew he would surely send heads flying, not just Billy’s, but Clara’s as well.

“No, there has to be another way,” Laura said.

Clara looked unimpressed with her statement, but Laura knew she wasn’t willing to risk anyone’s neck for her own. She would find a way to make her father believe her…. somehow.

  Chapter Five

Mac was sitting in the library smoking a cigar. Laura watched as he took long puffs of the tightly wrapped tobacco and left large clouds of smoke above his head.

Her heart ached at the thought of her father believing such a monster over her, but after his announcement of delivering the ranch to Martin Adler, even without her consent to marriage, she knew it was true.

Laura tiptoed down the long narrow hallway to her bedroom, careful not to step on any creaky boards and alert her father to her presence.

She closed the door behind her and moved towards her window. The dim light of the lantern glowed in the stables where Billy fed the horses the apples he gathered from Clara.

Laura felt her heart swell as she remembered how he looked at her in the kitchen, and the sweet passionate kiss they shared before her father called for her to return to the house.

She felt her pussy throb as a shadow passed the stable entrance and when Billy’s image appeared at the front entrance, her heart swelled at the sight.

Laura wanted to run to him, to find out what he wanted to talk to her about, but she knew her father was awake, standing guard as he smoked on his expensive cigar.

Billy moved away from the stables, his light following him as he disappeared past the large structure and out of Laura’s view.

She felt her mind release the agony of her doomed future with Martin as it began to float in the clouds dreaming about Billy.

Laura removed the dress that Billy so carefully cleaned and let the hair that he lovingly smoothed into a ponytail down to her shoulders.

As her corset unlatched, her breasts seemed to swell with excitement. She removed the petticoat that she knew hadn’t protected her pussy from Billy’s view earlier as she lay on the ground awaiting rescue from Martin’s hungry cock. She felt the meat nub above her cunt’s opening pulsate with excitement.

Laura had never felt this way before, her body seemed to have a mind of its own, and her hands moved quickly to accommodate its pleadings for release.

She fell onto her bed that was made of goose feathers and let her naked body spread out as she daydreamed about Billy’s eyes upon her.

Martin’s cock was the first she had seen, and as she remembered how it dangled from his open trousers, she thought it was ugly. But, Billy, his cock she thought would have to be magnificent and beautiful and she wished for it to be pushed against her as Martin’s had been, hard and hungry as it tried to enter her tight opening.

Her hands cupped her breasts as she opened her legs and pushed her ass from the mattress. Her pussy spread open wide, the cold air in her room tickling it as the thick hairs became damp with her juices.

Her fingers tightened around her nipples, they were so sensitive that her own touch made her moan.

Laura pinched the erect pink skin between her fingers, tugging on it as she let her ass squirm against the softness beneath her.

Her one hand released and went searching for the pleasure between her legs, finding it with an eagerness that excited her even further.

As her fingers pushed through her thick bush, she felt them brush against the swollen clit that was already sticking out and begging for attention. Her hand rubbed against it, creating friction that sent her ass back up from the mattress and pushed her cunt closer and harder against her hand.

The juices that flowed from her pussy were sticky and tacky against the curly hairs that grew wildly from her plump lips. As her hand moved back and forth against her clit, it pulled on the hairs, opening her pussy and letting the cool air that rushed from her window massage her and tease her as she imaged Billy touching her, caressing her, looking at her with his beautiful deep blue eyes.

Her fingers pushed towards her opening, the slippery juices made it easy for one to slide inside. She moaned again, this time, louder as she let her tight pussy surround the long slender finger between her legs.

Another finger searched for her pussy, pushing the plump lips aside as it entered alongside the other. Her hairs tugged against her flesh as they became tackier with her juices, pulling and tugging around her swollen clit as she fucked her hole with a fast motion.

Laura felt something new happening to her body. It felt as though her entire body was swelling and a wave of pleasure pulsed through it towards her fingers. Her breasts tightened and pushed toward the ceiling as her ass lifted from the bed and towards her hand.

Her legs tightened, tensing and clamping shut around her hand. Her fingers were trapped inside her tight pussy as she began to shake from the pulses that took over quickly.

Laura felt her pussy clamping against her fingers tightly and then releasing with a quick unorganized rhythm. With each pulse she felt her body relax, her breathing become shallow, and her head become dizzy.

Wetness surrounded her fingers as she let out a tortured yet satisfied moan.

A tap smacked at her window, and then another that pulled Laur
a from her state of ecstasy and back into reality.

She gripped the sheet that was beneath her and quickly wrapped it around her body. She could still feel the blood pushing through her as she moved to the window.

Billy stood at her window, his eyes glistening in the night against the light of the moon.

Laura felt her body tense and her heart race as she began to wonder if he had seen what she had done inside the room.

“I need to see you,” he whispered.

“My father is still up,” Laura whispered back.

She pointed to the window where her father had been smoking before she came to her room.

Billy smiled. “He has gone to bed,” he said.

Her body was nude and vulnerable beneath the thin sheet, and as Billy’s eyes penetrated through her, she felt similar vibrations between her legs to those that were recently released.

“Come out and talk to me,” he urged.

Laura disappeared from the window, slipping her thin nightgown on and wrapping herself back in the sheet. She climbed out her window and let Billy take her hand as her feet hit the ground.

Violent electricity shot through her body at his touch. Her pussy was still swollen with pleasure, and her nipples erect and pushing past the thin material of her gown.

What was she doing, she wondered. She barely knew this boy, and he already had a hold of her.
