“Shit,” James muttered. “If she fixed up your place, she must be a miracle worker.”
“No kidding,” McGuire chimed in.
As his friends took turns jabbing at Jeremy, he leaned toward her and whispered in her ear, “You are available next Saturday, right?”
She laughed, squeezing him. “For you, I’m available for the rest of our lives.”
His eyes widened as he eased back. “I love you, Zerina. I’ve never cared about anyone the way I care about you.”
She kissed him. “I feel the same way.”
“Would you think it too fast if I asked you to move in with me?”
She bit her lower lip to keep from smiling. “I have a confession to make,” she said, pressing her lips to his ear. “I’ve already put some of my things in a drawer in your bedroom.”
He laughed. “Does that mean you’d like to move the rest of your things in as well?”
She nodded. “I’d love to.”
He pulled her against him. “I’m going to ask you to marry me, Zerina. Not today. But soon.”
Her heart thundered in her chest, excitement and longing pulsing through her like a freight train. Licking her lips, she told him, “And just so you know, I’m going to say yes.”
His smile widened. “Thanks for taking the pressure off.”
“Thanks for loving me as I am and for making my dreams come true.”
He kissed her. “Always,” he said softly. “And forever.”
