“The thing that had me thinking though, was the fact that Sheila is now with this man whom you’ve had some sort of close connection with. I don’t believe that she knows anything about it, because of her casually cool attitude around the two of you. Which also makes me think—”
“You sho’ is thinking a lot tonight.”
He ignored her comment and kept talking. “It makes me think that you obviously were with him first.” Her bright eyes eased from the view of the woods toward him. “And because you’re so hell bent on believing that you were this ugly duckling prior to now, then I gather that it was one of those low key relationships and nobody ever knew about it except you and him.” Scarlett couldn’t believe how accurate he was, but she still didn’t say a word.
“That would explain why Sheila never knew, and eventually started dating him herself. Now, here’s the more interesting part. It’s something about Sheila that you don’t like, and I think it runs deeper than this thing you had with Jay. Am I right?”
After he’d been so on point with all of his revelations, why keep up a lie? “You’re right.”
“And until you wanna talk about it, then I won’t say any more.” He casually stated. “Now is there anything else you’d like me to know?”
“Maybe I should be asking you if there is anything else that you already know that you’d like to share.” she teased, shyly grinning.
“Nope,” he answered. “I just want you to know that you can tell me anything. I would rather hear it from you first than anybody else.”
“Well, uh?” she said, thinking that maybe she should go ahead and confess about the video.
“Well what?” he prodded.
She solemnly shook her head. “Never mind, it’s not that big a deal.” She felt that it was a huge deal, but she was way too embarrassed to even admit such shameful details about her past.
“So, Jay fumbled your heart, huh?”
Her big brown eyes gazed into his. “You can say that.” she softly said, feeling good about at least being able to be honest about that.
“I’m sorry that happened to you, but it turns out to be good for me. I’m that man. I’m tryna to tell you. Somebody else has him, and I have you.” He kissed her on the lips. “I keep telling you that we’re gonna be fine. Let go of your past. It doesn’t live here anymore.” He said and picked up the remote control to the surround sound stereo and pressed play on it. The soft melody of Woman’s Worth by Maxwell started to play in the background.
Not wanting to waste another second, Luke began kissing Scarlett passionately in the mouth. He wanted her to know and understand that he wanted to be with her, past or no past. She had his heart; she just didn’t know it.
He slid his hand all the way up her sundress then pulled it over her head. She lay there naked, gazing at him with love in her eyes. The night sky caused a glow on her skin that only made him want to indulge in this moment for as long as he could. He was more than aroused as he pulled down his boxer shorts, exposing his ten inches of hard dick. She tensed up a bit, allowing him to immediately fill her up. Her titties jiggled from his grinding thrusts going in and out of her wet pussy. She moaned to the rhythmic motions of his body movements while his manhood anxiously brushed against her sensitive, wet walls. The episode was so hot that Mother Nature decided to cool them off with a shower of warm rain as they continued to make love outside on the round sofa bed.

Back in Augusta, Nina was getting prepared to try to win Stephen back over. He’d been the only man that ever truly loved her and all of her children. She felt stupid for feeling some kind of way toward the man because of his small sized penis. What one woman didn’t love, another could easily love it, suck it, and ride it until the cows come calling home. She had to get her shit together and fast, before she allowed an intruder to overstep her boundaries.
She stood in the bathroom mirror pulling her eighteen-inch long, Milky Way sew-in up into a ponytail wrapped in a ball. She stood in the body mirror, making sure that she was on point and looking very good. She sprayed some Wild Honeysuckle from Bath and Body Works all over her body, and then applied lip-gloss to her lips as she puckered up in the mirror.
“Hey,” she called out, leaning her head around the bathroom wall that separated her from the bedroom. “I want me some Brazilian Virgin Remy hair.” She said, then went straight back to the mirror.
“You want some what kind of hair?” Stephen asked as he lay in the bed flipping through the channels on the TV.
“Some hair called Remy. It’s about one hundred and fifty dollars a pack, and I need two packs of it.” She responded while applying a little eye mascara to her already long eyelashes. “Are you gonna buy it for me?”
“Let me make sure that I get your washing machine fixed first. I hate you having to go to that laundry mat with the kids.”
“You’re right,” she agreed. “You don’t have to get it for me right now. I just want to have it by the fourth of July when we take our summer vacation.” She was already excited about their annual getaway when her and the kids, along with Scarlett and her crew, which only included Anton and Tommy, would travel three and a half hours to Myrtle Beach for a three day weekend spent oceanfront in a nice hotel.
“Okay, you’ll have it by then.” Stephen said as she stepped out of the bathroom wearing a Bella pink Signature cotton slip by Victoria Secret. Stephen’s bright smile lit up the room when he looked up from the TV and saw her standing there. Her caramel skin tone was perfect against the sexy pink slip she wore, and the smile she shot him, caused his manhood to jump a little.
“Come here,” he courted, using the call of his index finger to draw her in. She smiled, as she walked over to turn off the room light first. She wanted him to see what he had been missing out on in the past six months of them not having sex. She didn’t offer, and he didn’t ask. He would play around with her from time to time, but nothing else that led them to a make out session.
Stephen sat up, enticed by the way her thick thighs jiggled as she made it over to him. “I thought we were gonna be good tonight?”
“We are,” she stated then climbed in the bed next to him.
The thought of seeing her bouncy ass was locked in his mind as he softly kissed her on the lips. “Okay, we’re being good,” he had to remind himself and her.
She turned to face him, propping up on her elbow with the side of her jaw resting on the palm of her hand. “So, who is your new friend?”
“She’s someone that I work with.”
“Do you like her? Are y’all serious?” Nina asked, wanting to feel him out.
Stephen grinned. His smile always did something to her. “Why are you asking about my friend? If I didn’t know any better, I would think that you cared a little bit.”
“I do care about you,” she cut in with a frown on her face. “Why would you say that?”
“Because you don’t show me the attention of a woman that is feeling me,” he truthfully stated. “If only Rick didn’t have his claws buried in you, then maybe you could see the good that I could bring into your life.” She dropped her head because at that moment she felt bad as hell. She’d let a no good nigga like Rick almost destroy her, just because she was too stupid to let him go.
“I know I’ve driven you crazy in the past, fooling around with Rick as if I’d lost my mind. I don’t know what kept me so hooked on him like that. I could say that it was because he was the man I had my first babies by, or the first man that ever ate my pussy and made me bust a nut. Shit, I don’t know.” She shrugged. “Maybe it was because he favored Shemar Moore so much that it always turned me on.” She was speaking so freely, until Stephen had to cut in and hush her up.
“Hurry up and get to where you’re going with this.” He said feeling resentful about her honest feelings for her ex.
“What I’m trying to say is that ,whatever the reason for me being such a fool over him, that I’m over it. I understand that the man doesn’
t do anything for me. He never has. If anything, he has always brought me down. I mean, he can’t even pay his child support on time, if we ever get something.” She felt embarrassed and disappointedly shook her head.
“Things were looking up for me the four years that we were together. Then I allowed Rick’s grimy ass to creep back in my life and fuck things up for us.”
“Don’t remind me,” he said not wanting to even think about how she left him to go live off a voucher, just so her no good ex boyfriend and father of her oldest two, would have a place to lay his head and his dick whenever he was in the mood.
Stephen smugly grinned a bit, trying to be as understanding as he could, because there was nothing that she’d said that he hadn’t already put together over a period of being in her life.
“I’m just trying to tell you that I don’t want Rick anymore. I’ve not had sex with him in like three months, and when you ask me three months from today, I’ll be able to say six months.” Stephen laughed at her corny sense of humor. It was something about her that was different. Her sparkling personality was back. Her wanting to open up to him and be honest was back. Her beautiful white sincere smile was back.
“I can tell that something is different about you,” he admitted. “You look like you’re happier. I mean, not that you ever treated me unkind, but just that you seem to have a different outlook on life and what you want out of it.”
“I do,” she stated.
“Is that why you really wanted me to stay here tonight? I knew that your hard ass wasn’t scared of a little noise in your back yard.”
“I was,” she fibbed a little. “But I think that was fate stepping in so that I would ask you to stay the night, otherwise my pride wouldn’t have let me; especially knowing about your new friend.”
“What if I told you that she was more than just a friend to me?” Stephen asked.
“Is she?” Nina quickly shot back.
“We’ve been seeing each other for the past two months and I’m feeling her. I haven’t completely committed to her because I’m still riding the fence here, but I think I’m getting closer to making a decision.
“And wouldn’t fate have it that you’re here with me tonight instead of with her.”
“I guess so,” he stated with a nod of his head. “Is that why you really wanted me here? To keep me away from her?”
“I know. I can’t stop you from being with another woman if that’s what you choose to do.”
“Okay, as long as you know that, then we’re good.” he stated, causing her to see the Stephen with a backbone and was not someone she could run over. “I love O’mari and Mya to death, but I also feel the same way about Macy and Marc. So don’t ever think that I’ll ditch them for nobody. Yes, I’m mingling a little bit, but I still have mad love and respect for you. I always will; you’re the mother of my children.”
Nina had mixed feelings about this new person that she was talking to. She figured that it would be easy to come out the bathroom wearing a cotton slip that most of her bare ass hung out of and turn him on, but he kissed her and talked to her; that was it.
What she didn’t know was that his radar was turned up past 100, lying beside her, rubbing on her soft body, but he wasn’t about to crack under pressure. Nina had hurt him badly in the past, and he was making sure that history wouldn’t repeat itself.
“So, we’re going to sleep now?” he asked as she turned her back to him and snuggled her ass as close up on his dick as she could.
“Yeah,” she whispered as if she’d gotten sleepy. Stephen turned the TV off and sat the remote over on the nightstand behind him. He wrapped his strong arms around her waist. The thickness of her soft body parts felt good as he gently rubbed her from the side of her ribcage down to her thighs in a steady repeated motion.
“I have an early morning meeting at work, and a long day of training some new hires,” he said. “Good night,” he yawned as her cell phone rang. She knew it was Rick by the ringtone, “That’s Just My Daddy” by B-Roc & the Biz, playing in a fast upbeat jingle. Stephen nonchalantly grinned causing Nina to smile. The song was quite comical and the chorus fit Rick to a T, which was the reason Stephen nonchalantly grinned.
She knew from the first jingle of the song that she wasn’t answering it. “Good Night,” she responded, pussy wet and horny, but she wasn’t getting any dick tonight, big or small.

Tommy pulled up in the driveway and Anton could already see Gwen sitting on the stairs in front of their front door.
“What your mama doing over here this time of night, boss?”
“I don’t know. I hadn’t seen her since Thursday, but I’ma holla at you. Le’me see what’s going on with her.” He responded, giving Tommy dap then stepping out of the car and closing the door behind him.
Tommy backed out of the driveway and blew the horn as he drove down the street.
Anton walked up to Gwen. She was looking cold, and that seemed strange because it was hot and very humid.
“What’s up, Ma?” Anton asked. “What brings you over this way so late? It’s after midnight.” Gwen slowly lifted her head as the moonlight illuminated black eye on her face.
Anton instantly did a double take. “Damn, Ma, what happened to you?”
“You know how it is in the hole.” He grabbed her face, moving it from one side to the other, trying to get a better look. “You know niggas treat people like me any kind of way.” She nonchalantly grinned.
Anton didn’t think it was all that funny. “A nigga ain’t got no business putting his hands on a woman, let alone my mama!” He angrily yelled.
“Don’t trip about it son, because I damn sho’ ain’t. It was just one of them thangs, ya know.” She was still playing it cool, but clearly she was hurt and it bothered him. She even spoke softer than her usual tone and wasn’t really acting like herself.
He grew concerned. “How long have you been sitting out here?”
“I was out here ʼbout an hour then I walked to the store and back, so probably ʼbout two hours now. I had to go hustle up me a six pack.”
He shook his head. “Are you okay, Mama? You don’t seem yourself.”
“Yeah son, I’m okay. I’m just tired, that’s all.”
He shook his head at having to see his mama look like that. “You look tired.” he responded.
“I am. I just want to get out of the heat and lay in a nice cozy bed. I feel my body shutting down on me.”
Anton instantly began to worry, because she looked sick. She held her head down and began coughing, but drowned it with a big swallow of Natural Ice.
Anton frowned. “How long have you had that cough, Ma?”
“I don’t know, ʼbout three weeks, maybe.” She turned her beer back up and swallowed hard.
He wanted to invite her in, but knew that Scarlett would kill him if she ever found out. Plus, she’d just gotten a 46-inch big screen in their living room and he didn’t want his mama to see it. She might have thoughts later of breaking in and stealing it like she’d done in the past. Nevertheless, he felt very bad for her and wanted to somehow take care of her.
Gwen began coughing again. This time it was almost nonstop. Anton reached inside his pockets and pulled out the keys to Scarlett’s car. He knew she said to not drive unless it was an emergency, but with Gwen coughing like a bad habit, he figured this was an emergency.
“Come on, Ma. I’ma take you to University Hospital. I think you need to see a doctor.”
“I ain’t got no damn money for no emergency room.” She huffed.
“I know you don’t, but I do,” he said, thinking about the two-hundred dollars he had left from Scarlett’s little weekly allowance that she gave him.
“Well, just give it to me and I can go buy all the medicine that I need. I’ll be brand new before you know it,” she laughed.
“Yeah, I bet.” He pulled her up by the arm. She was frail, and felt like she weighed eighty pounds soaking wet. Gwen was too w
eak to even struggle with him. When she saw they were heading towards Scarlett’s car, she began to wiggle just a bit.
“I don’t wanna get in her car!” Her hoarse voice cracked. “She don’t want me in her shit and I don’t wanna be in her shit!” She coughed.
“Ma please, you make things hard for yourself. Scarlett tried to give you more than a few chances. You’re the one who fucked it up.”
“I don’t wanna hear that shit,” she slurred.
He overpowered her as her small body frame tried to wiggle from out of his grip. “Ma, just get in the car.” He opened the passenger door. “And, quit talking so much.”
Gwen smacked her lips, but got inside the car. Anton drove off, heading toward the University Hospital.
Chapter 11
Sheila sat in her new living room, on her new indigo blue, faux leather sofa sectional, watching her new 60 inch 3D TV. Even though she should’ve been extremely happy about living in a stylishly furnished placed of her own, she wasn’t. She couldn’t wrap her mind around Jay wanting to break things off with her. He was quite honest about his feelings and shared the fact that it was indeed another woman. She sighed, feeling a wee bit sorry for him because he was in such a compromising position.
“At least he was honest. I gotta respect that, because Mike never cared to keep it real with his cheatin’ ass.” She spoke to herself then looked around as if somebody was watching her, but there was no one. She was alone, and probably had to accept that it would be many other nights like this, since Samantha had returned home earlier that day.
She looked at her cell phone, checking the number of the other woman that Jay was seeing. She had the number saved under Bitch, and had been back and forth with herself about placing a call to the bitch. She pressed the send button to call the last sent number in her call log, only to hang up before it rang, just as she’d did twice before.
“Damn, what am I doing? Either I’m gonna call the bitch or I’m not.” She scolded herself then threw the cell phone on the sofa beside her. She hesitantly shook her head then quickly picked the cell phone back up. She pressed the send button and this time she heard it ring.
