Now I’m the one breathing heavily as I search his eyes. “It has nothing to do with you or your past, Fitz. It’s me and my past. No one has ever told me I was beautiful until you. No one has ever told me I was sexy or hot or hell even okay looking. So don’t jump down my throat, because it’s hard for me to believe that someone as fucking gorgeous as you, finds me beautiful.”

He lets go of my hands and wraps his arms around me. “Shit, I’m sorry. I just don’t understand how you’ve never heard it before. Christ, there is no comparison in my eyes.”

We stay wrapped around each other for a while before there is a light knock at the door. “I’m not coming in, so if you’re having sex, keep going. I just wanted to let you know we sent Tony for pizza, if or when you guys are hungry,” Ethen says.

I laugh and after a minute Fitz joins me. “What a fucking asshole,” he says, shaking his head.

“He might be, but I’m actually starving,” I say and laugh when he looks down at me with shock.

“Holy shit, I suck as a boyfriend. I didn’t even buy you dinner before we had sex.” He kisses my forehead and climbs off me. “Come on, let’s get dressed and get you fed.”

After we both get dressed, he intertwines our fingers and kisses my hand. I take a deep breath and prepare myself for facing the rest of the band. I begin chewing my lip and look up at him. “I’m kinda nervous.”

“Nothing to be nervous about baby. They all knew this was going to happen. I’ll handle it, don’t worry.” He gives me a quick kiss and before I can say a word, he opens the door.

We walk out into the bright lights of the bus and I squint my eyes trying to get used to it. Everyone is on the bus. Poppy sits on Nate’s lap, while Ethen and Ralph play a video game. They all turn their heads when we walk out and my stomach flips.

“Hey Brooklyn, nice to see you,” Ethen says, before he busts out laughing.

“Ethen, shut the fuck up. I swear to God I’ll kick your ass,” Fitz hisses at him and he shakes his head.

“Hi Brooklyn,” Ralph says, quickly looking over his shoulder.

Okay, maybe this won’t be so bad. I mean except for Ethen’s remark, they seem to just be ignoring the fact that we just came out of the bedroom.

“So,” Poppy says, looking between the two of us. I don’t know what to say, so I look up at Fitz. He smiles down at me and presses a soft kiss against my lips. “Oh my God,” Poppy screams.

They all look at us again and I bite my lip to try to keep from laughing. Fitz just shakes his head and gives me a quick wink. “Well, here’s the thing. Brooklyn and I are together.” They all start yelling out questions and he holds up his hand. “We will figure it all out, but right now the only thing you need to know is that we are together.” My heart swells in my chest hearing him tell his bandmates we are together. I feel like now it is official. He looks back down at me and grins. “I’m crazy about her,” he says to them, but never looks away from me.

I push up on my toes and press a kiss to his mouth and they all start to clap or whistle or yell. I immediately pull away and feel my face blush. Alright, it might take a little longer to get used to the idea of public displays of affection. I look over at Poppy and she has a huge smile on her face. She mouths ‘I love you’ and I nod my head mouthing it back.

Tony gets back with the pizzas and Fitz has me sit at the table with Nate and Poppy, while he goes to grab some drinks out of the fridge. Before he comes back, Poppy reaches across the table and grabs my hand. “I want details later.”

I giggle and agree, just as Fitz, Ethen, and Ralph come over to grab some pizza. Fitz of course, doesn’t give anyone a chance to sit next to me, so Ethen and Ralph take their pizza over to the couch. He hands me a water and a slice of pizza and I graciously accept. We all sit around talking and laughing for the next few hours. I suddenly realize, I might just belong here. They all treat me exactly like they do Poppy and I feel like I’ve been with them forever. I’m not sure what’s going to happen come Monday, but right now I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m surrounded by the people who mean everything to me and when Fitz rests his arm behind and rubs my shoulder, I smile knowing he’s the reason why.

Damn I don’t want her to go. That’s all that goes through my mind when she’s sleeping in my arms. Hell, it’s all that has gone through my mind since the minute I saw her again. We leave tomorrow and I still have no idea where her head is. Every part of me wants to force her to stay, tie her to the damn bed if needs be. Besides that probably being illegal, I don’t want to make the decision for her. I want her to be the one that says she’s staying. She’s been told what direction to go her whole life and I’ll be damned if I’m going to be like the rest. Whatever happens now, it’s on her.

I want to stay wrapped up in each other all day, unfortunately the band and I have a signing and photo op at a local guitar shop. I need to get up and I hate the thought of disturbing her. We haven’t left the confines of the bus the last few days and part of it is selfish reasons, the other part is so the paparazzi doesn’t run with this. I think I’d like to know where it is going before they print a story about my love life and they will. They’ve always talked about how I’m the party kind of guy and I go from relationship to relationship, but never the settling down type. They will have a field day with this and I guess I just want to protect Brooklyn as long as possible.

She stirs in her sleep and I look over at her. She is fucking beautiful. The way her hair is fanned out half on me, half on the pillow. Her mouth slightly parted and her naked goddess body pressed against me. It makes it hard to keep my commitments, when all I want to do is worship her body.

There is a light knock on the door and I quickly cover her with the sheet, because it’s bad enough Ethen saw her ass the other night, no one but me gets to see how perfect she is. “Yeah,” I say as quietly as I can.

The door pushes open and Poppy sticks her head in. “You know I hate to interrupt, but you need to get your ass moving. We need to leave here in twenty minutes.”

I nod my head and she closes the door. I turn my head and kiss her forehead, while pulling my arm out from under her. She immediately opens her eyes and looks at me. “I’m sorry baby, I need to go do that signing. The invitation is still open if you want to come,” I say, pressing a soft kiss to her lips.

“No, you guys go. I’ll just be in the way. Besides you need to focus on all of your adoring fans,” she says and rolls over.

“Hey,” I say getting her to roll back to me. “First of all you are never in the way. Second, I told you already we need a personal assistant and we want to hire you. And last and most important, you are my girlfriend and I want you anywhere I am.”

She smiles at the last part and kisses me before wrapping her arms around me. “When do we leave?”

I pull away from her and search her eyes. “Are you serious? You’re going to come?”

She giggles and sits up. “How can I deny you?” She stands up and begins to step into her panties. “Especially when you come up with a bullshit position for me,” she says and starts laughing when I pull her onto the bed.

I climb on top of her and kiss her, letting my tongue do what I want my cock to do. When I break away I place my hands on her face and grin. “It’s not a bullshit position.” Yes, it totally is. We don’t need a personal assistant at all.

“I appreciate it, but I’m not going as anything but your girlfriend,” she pauses and starts to chew her lip. “What happens if people ask?”

“Well, that’s up to you. I’ll shout it from the fucking rooftops that you are mine, but you need to be prepared for what comes with that label. They are going to make up things about me, about you and about our relationship. They are going to find old lovers and have them tell bullshit stories and they will probably go after a few of yours too. I can handle it, I don’t read those fucking magazines anyway, but are you ready for the world to know about us?”

“Fitz, lets fucking go,” Ethen yells and
we pull apart, jumping up to get ready.

I look over at her while she pulls on one of Poppy’s shirts and she smiles. “It terrifies me. I’m not going to lie. The idea of people wanting to photograph us, writing stories about us and forget your fans. They will hate me.” She says, brushing her hair and pulling it up into a ponytail. She spins around as I am shoving my wallet and phone into my pocket and gives me a pouting face. “Maybe I shouldn’t go. I mean, Christ my hair is in a ponytail and I haven’t put any makeup on yet. I’ll end up making you late.”

I grin and pull her to me. “You worry too much. The paparazzi wins if we let them rule our lives. They are a bunch of fucking vultures who love to cause trouble. As for the fans, I believe it will be the complete opposite, they are going to love you. Now, finish getting ready and I’ll go make us a cup of coffee to bring.” I kiss her and leave to let her finish getting ready.

Once I step into the living area, everyone is sitting around eating breakfast. Ethen looks at me and shakes his head. “It’s about fucking time. We ready?”

I grab two travel cups and pour coffee into each, before looking at him. “Brooklyn is coming, so once she’s ready we’ll head out.”

“I’ll go help her finish,” Poppy says and rubs my arm as she passes.

Nate gives me a small smile and nod, while Ethen whispers something to Ralph.

I finish making our coffee and I take them to the table and sit down. I look over at Ethen and raise my eyebrows. “You have something you want to say?”

“Nope,” he says, letting the ‘P’ pop.

  “You sure?”

He looks at Ralph who shoots him a look of death before looking back to me. “You do realize that you are still in this band right?”

Ralph shakes his head and sighs, before getting up and going to the bathroom. I look at Nate and Ethen while I sip on my coffee. “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?”

“Look, I love Brooklyn, but you aren’t exactly present since she’s been here,” Ethen says and I chuckle.

“Present in the fact that what? We are just killing time until the next show? That we didn’t have any fucking plans for the last few days, with exception to this signing and I’m sitting here waiting to fucking go? What exactly haven’t I been present for Ethen?” I’m pissed and I know I’m talking louder than I probably should. He’s just always got a fucking comment.

He laughs and shakes his head. “You think I’m talking about this weekend?” I don’t say anything, just continue to stare at him. “I’m talking about the last two months. When she’s around, she gets all your attention. When she’s not around she gets all your attention. She’s all you talk about, all you sing about. You’re either obnoxiously miserable or blissfully happy, but you haven’t been present. So don’t act like you have been.”

He’s right, I can’t even argue with him. Everything he said is spot on the truth, but I sure as fuck won’t allow anyone to think it’s Brooklyn’s fault. “You’re damn right that’s how I’ve been. The minute I laid eyes on her I wanted her and when I couldn’t have her, yeah I lost my shit.” I sip my coffee and smile. “I have her now. So just chill the fuck out.”

Before he can say anything Poppy and Brooklyn walk out and she grins at me. Her hair is down and curled, makeup to perfection and she’s changed into a black leather skirt and white strapless top. Fuck, she has my cock begging to be freed.

“Let’s roll,” Poppy says and walks past me, giving me a wink, before grabbing Nate’s hand.

Ethen and Ralph follow and Brooklyn walks up to me. I look her up and down and shake my head. “You look fucking hot. I’m going to have a difficult time walking around with this hard on all day.” She tosses her head back laughing and I smile, holding my hand out. “You ready?”

She takes a deep breath and places her hand in mine. “Ready.”

Poppy waits for Tony to open the door and once he does, we file out. Luckily, no one is here and that’s probably because they know where we are heading. We all pile into the black limo Hummer that is waiting. Once we are all situated, the driver pulls away.

“So listen, I talked to the label and they want to extend the tour. Adding a few more cities, since we are sold out of every venue. Of course, I told them yes. So we are tacking on an additional week.” I have mixed feelings on this. It’s fucking amazing for us as a band, but it takes away from being home and that means less time with Brooklyn. “Also, heads up the paparazzi are like flies on shit at this signing. I spoke to the owner of the joint and he said there are so many fans also, that they are in crowds outside. We need to figure out how we are going to handle this, because I visited this shop and it’s fucking small. It’s going to take forever to get through all of these fans.” Fuck.

“Is this a free signing?” Brooklyn asks, looking around at all of us.

“No, they had to buy tickets,” Poppy replies.

“Well, what’s the problem? The ones without a ticket don’t get entry,” she says and giggles. “Right?”

I smile and kiss her head. She’s so black and white. “Yes, that’s how it should go, but the thing is our label wants us to keep gaining fans. Well shit we do too, but they want it for the money we bring in. Usually when we do any kind of event, after the paid fans leave, we let in a certain amount of fans who didn’t pay. We are kind of known for it,” I say, chuckling.

“Oh, sorry.” She looks at me and shrugs her shoulders.

“Nice thought Brooklyn,” Ethen says and winks at her. Dick, he knows she’s the best thing to ever happen to me and he feels bad for his earlier comments.

I glance down at Brooklyn and she is wringing her hands together looking around. I raise my eyebrows and a slow smile makes it way to her lips. “What if you did something like, the first fifty people with Renegade t-shirts on?”

Everyone stops talking and looks at each other before looking at Brooklyn. “So simple and fucking perfect. Great idea Brooklyn,” Poppy says, jotting things down on her iPad.

I wrap my arm around her and slide her closer to me. I kiss her ear and whisper, “See we need you.” Sitting up straight I look down at her and she blushes. It amazes me that I’ve fucked her and made love to her, yet she still blushes when I say things to her. I love it.

We pull up at the small guitar shop and holy shit, the owner wasn’t kidding. There are people everywhere and paparazzi vultures too. “Damn, Poppy we need to have visible security,” I say, looking out at the screaming fans.

“Already on it,” she says, pressing the phone to her ear.

“Security?” Brooklyn whispers and I pull her onto my lap.

“Just to keep fans from standing in our way. There is nothing to worry about.”

She nods her head and looks back out the window. “Do you ever get worried about a crazy fan?”

I chuckle and squeeze her tighter. “We’ve had plenty.”

“Like with a gun?” she shrieks out.

“A gun? Fuck no. Just ones that try to say they’ve fallen in love with us, shit like that,” I say, trying to relax her.

“What if that happened though? Do you have security that like tackles a person like that? Someone who takes the bullet for you?” she asks, with fear clear on her face.

I turn her head to look at me and I kiss her neck, trailing up to her mouth. When I’m a whisper away I say, “There are cops and security all over and mixed throughout the crowd. We have body guards that no one sees and honestly, we are all aware of everything around us.” She lightly nods her head and I capture her lips, trying to kiss her fears away. “Baby, please don’t worry. You are never safer than you are at my side. I’ll take a bullet for you.” I mean it too. I’ll protect her with my last breath.

“Fitz,” she whispers and kisses me.

“Alright, everything is set. You guys ready?” Poppy says, breaking our moment.

Everyone gets all excited and I look down at Brooklyn. She nods her head with a smile and I grab ahold of her hand. The driver op
ens the door and you can hear the screaming from the fans. She squeezes my hand and I bring it to my mouth and place a kiss on it. Nate and Poppy get out first, than Ralph, than Ethen and it is pandemonium out there. I step out of the limo, still holding Brooklyn’s hand and she follows right behind. I can feel how nervous she is and I just give her hand a little squeeze to let her know I’m right here.

I wave at the fans with my free hand and they go ballistic. The paparazzi are screaming for me to look and asking who I’m with. I completely ignore them and keep moving toward the door.

“We love you Fitz,” a voice screams from the crowd.

I grin and point out to the crowd, unsure exactly where the voice came from. “I love you too,” I yell back. They once again go crazy and I just laugh and walk inside. I look down at Brooklyn and she is staring at me. “You alright?”

“You really are a rock star, huh?” she asks jokingly, with a small laugh.

I wink and wrap my arms around her. “I really am.”

  **

The signing was a hell of a lot of fun, with a shit load of fans. The extras we let come in where so excited and I kept smiling at Brooklyn, knowing it was her idea. There were a few questions from fans asking who she was, but I just smiled and signed their merchandise. Brooklyn stood with Poppy off to the side and I loved looking over and seeing her smiling face. It may be why I enjoyed myself so much.

We are now on our way to a restaurant that Brooklyn recommended. She said they have the best chicken parm. Poppy called ahead and made reservations and asked for the private room. I’ve got my arm around Brooklyn and I’m tracing her shoulder with my finger and I can tell it is turning her on, because she keeps squeezing her legs together. We are all just talking about the signing and about how well it all went.

We pull up to the restaurant and I have this dreaded feeling that tonight will be my last with her for a while and it makes me very uneasy. I get out and hold my hand out to help Brooklyn. When we walk in, I wrap my arm around her and keep her close to my side. We wait for the hostess and I look around to take in where she hangs out. It’s nice, a little simple, but that’s my girl. She doesn’t need anything fancy.
