  “I promise.”

I smiled at him and we both turned to watch the sun vanish, plunging the sky into twilight. Soon, we would both cross the causeway and head home.   Acknowledgements

There are a few people I would love to thank for helping me pull this all together. The process of writing this book seemed to take forever, and I really couldn’t have done it without them.

First, my friend Mags, for helping me see into the mind of a teenage girl. Indispensable.

Another friend, the Judge, who helped me brainstorm on multiple occasions. You’re invaluable.

My sister Christina - who was a perfectly brutal beta reader - Clari, Chloe, Beth, and Jason, all of whom gave great feedback.

Nicole, for being my Polaris in the night, the shining star that kept me from losing my way along this journey. Thank you for all your advice, guidance, and feedback. You never fail to inspire.

Not to mention Paige Purcell, the gorgeous and wildly talented woman behind the helm of PaPur Graphics, for doing the incredible cover art. If you liked it, find her on Facebook and get a commission.

Finally, I’d like to thank you for reading this book. I worked hard on it for a long time, and just knowing that you took the time to read it means more than anything to me. Thank you. A million times, thank you.
