The Endermen Invasion Page 7

“I think I’ve had enough adventure after this contest. I want to check on my farm.”

“But it will be fun,” Lucy said.

“I’ll go back to the farm and watch Jasmine, Snuggles, and Rufus. When you’re done with your adventure, you can tell me all about it. I can’t wait to hear about all the awesome treasures you’ll discover,” said Steve. He knew he wanted to go home.

“If I go with them, will you check on my house?” asked Kyra.

“Of course,” replied Steve, “I’ll check on it every day until you come home.”

“Before we go, I have to build more boats.” With that, Kyra headed to the dock. She had a lot of work ahead of her since Joshua had destroyed Steve’s boat and Henry’s boat was lost at sea.

The group joined Kyra at the dock and helped her build.

Sylvia, Jonathan, and Lexie walked over to Kyra and watched her work.

“You’re quite the builder, Kyra. Maybe you’ll be invited to participate in the contest next time,” said Sylvia.

When the boats were finished, Sarah, Georgia, Caleb, and Eli all stood on the dock.

“I’ll come visit you at the wheat farm,” said Georgia.

“I want everyone to visit me,” Steve announced. He was so glad to have made new friends, but also sad to leave them.

Steve said goodbye to Kyra, who left with Max, Lucy, and Henry.

At last, Steve hopped aboard his boat. Although he was disappointed he didn’t leave Mushroom Island as a winner, he knew there would be other contests and he was happy to be sailing back home.

The Quest for the Diamond Sword

  A Minecraft Gamer’s Adventure

  By Winter Morgan

Steve lives on a wheat farm and likes to spend his mornings in the village and trade his wheat for emeralds, armor, books, swords, and food. One morning, he finds that zombies have attacked the villagers. The zombies have also turned the village blacksmith into a zombie, leaving Steve without a place to get swords. To protect himself and the few villagers that remain, Steve goes on a quest to mine for forty diamonds, which are the most powerful mineral in the Overworld. He wants to craft these diamonds into a diamond sword to shield him and the villagers from the zombies.

Far from his home, with night about to set in, Steve fears for his life. Nighttime is when users are most vulnerable in Minecraft. As he looks for shelter in a temple, he meets a trio of treasure hunters, Max, Lucy, and Henry, who are trying to unearth the treasure under the temple. Steve tells them of his master plan to mine for the most powerful mineral in the Overworld—the diamond. The treasure hunters are eager to join him. Facing treacherous mining conditions, a thunderstorm, and attacks from hostile mobs, these four friends question if it’s better to be a single player than a multiplayer as they try to watch out for each other and chase Steve’s dream at the same time.

Will Steve find the diamonds? Will his friends help or hinder the search? Should he trust his new treasure hunter friends? And will Steve get back in time to save the villagers?
