“It would have been dark in two hours and there’s wild animals running rampant up there! They would have eaten her!”

Reed started to cry. Dawson shoved the knife he was holding back in his pocket.

“Reed, you see the problem is that now because of your laziness, apparently, Lily is still alive. We don’t know how but she is.

“The bigger problem, the one that really gets under my skin the most, is that you didn’t follow orders, Reed, and you lied to me.” Reed’s mouth oozed with blood and a few of his teeth were now missing.

“How?! She was dead! I swear it! I checked! She was fucking dead! I tossed her down a steep hillside. It had to be at least fifty feet!

“I watched the tarp open up when she hit a rock on the way down. She was dead, boss! I swear it!” Reed screeched, attempting to pull himself partially upright. “There was no way she could have survived that fall even if she was still alive in the van, boss! This is crazy!” he shrieked. “Someone is giving you bad information, just trying to scare you and-and-and make me look bad! Lily is dead!”

Dawson walked slowly over to where Reed was hanging and pulled the rope hard so that it swung from side to side. Reed’s long hair brushed the floor lightly as it moved.

“Reed, Lily is planning to go to the police about what we did to her and that puts me and all of my business dealings in jeopardy and I can’t afford that.

“The FBI have been looking into my operations for years. This will make it worse for me. The other problem is that Lily has been spotted travelling with Gabriel Bear Preston.”

Reed shut his eyes for a moment in recognition of the name.

“Reed, as you know, Bear is not a guy you want to mess with, but now because of you I have no choice but to go through him to keep Lily quiet.” Dawson went on.

“This is your fuck up, Reed. I can’t have people around me making mistakes like this.”

Dawson pulled out a nine-millimeter Sig Sauer and shot Reed in the chest.

“Boss, apparently Bear has a house up in Bitterroot,” the man said, stopping Dawson as he headed down a dark hallway. Loud dance music pumped through the building, rattling the walls.

  “What?” Dawson asked curtly.

The man repeated himself slowly this time, speaking much louder. “Bear, apparently, he has a house up in Bitterroot.”

Dawson shut his eyes for a moment, hanging his head low. “There’s nothing up there. That can’t be. It’s the middle of nowhere.”

“Well, boss, it must be. You can’t see it from the ground but we have a guy that flew over the area this morning in a helo.

“He said it’s a big place, on a piece of land that has no visible boundaries that you can barely even see from flying overhead because the roof camouflages with the area. It’s surrounded by miles of huge pine trees.

“The place looks empty right now, I’m told.”

A sparkle appeared in Dawson’s eyes. “Lily must’ve stumbled on his place or he must’ve found her. Bear found her.

“If he found Lily, he will probably want to keep her. He’s not going to let Lily go. I don’t know. This is so fucked,” Dawson said thinking out loud.

“Of course, the place is empty. Bear and Lily are in Helena. That’s the information we got. There’s no one up at that cabin.”

“That motherfucker has been living up in the mountains all these years. Well I’ll be damned,” Dawson paused in thought and whispered. “But we need to be careful. After all these years, Bear may still have the bird’s eye protection of some very powerful people. He might also come to us first.

“Getting to Lily in Helena is going to be too difficult and too in the open.

“Let’s wait until we find out when they are both leaving Helena to head back up to that cabin. Find out, it’s important,” Dawson said.

Gabriel grabbed my hand and walked me outside the cottage to the bottom of the steps.

The truck was parked at the bottom. I gave him a curious look and he smiled. I stepped around the front and there was an “L” sign painted in red attached to the front of the shiny black bumper. I nervously looked at it and then back to Gabriel.

“We need to get you driving before you leave Helena. I made an appointment at the DMV a month ago for your test next week, so we need to get moving. We are already behind.”

“Gabriel, I can’t drive this. It’s too big! Why can’t I learn in Jacob and Abigail’s jeep?”

“Lily, what’s the point of learning in their jeep if this is the vehicle that you will mainly be using when we leave here? You have to learn how to drive, Lily, and in this. Let’s go.”

Gabriel held the door open and I gingerly jumped in. He stepped around the back and slid into the passenger seat looking relaxed. He kissed me on the cheek and then leaned over to help me adjust the seat and the rearview- and side mirrors. I could barely see over the steering wheel until he adjusted it. He showed me where the brakes were and what some of the buttons on the dashboard were for. I wiped my sweaty palms on my pants a few times drying them off.

“Okay, take the brake off and push the gas gently,” he said as he leaned over.

“We are just going to go around the ranch a few times and learn how to reverse today. Tomorrow we will parallel park.”

“Okay,” I said nervously when the truck began to move forward slowly.

I looked over to him to find him grinning like a kid watching me. The truck rounded the corner near Jacob and Abigail’s house and I pushed the gas pedal down a little harder, feeling the truck move faster.

“Keep it at a comfortable speed, Lily. It’s just a truck. You’re the one in control of it,” he coached.

After we did a few circles around the ranch, Gabriel pointed me towards a small patch of land far off from the stables. He set some orange cones out and had me reverse in between them maneuvering the truck from left to right. Each time I moved towards a cone a loud beeping alerted me that I was too close. Gabriel banged on the window for me to get out to look to see where the cones were and I had to start again. Gabriel had me practice this for over an hour until we drove back.

“Lily, you were perfect. Tomorrow we do it again and for the rest of the days this week,” he said.

“So, you’re secretly working for Abigail now, Lily?” Gabriel asked.

I looked up at him, setting my shoes aside. “I guess I am,” I said, confidently walking towards him.

He narrowed his brown eyes at me as I strode towards him looking him over. His hair was disheveled and he looked tired sitting at his desk. It was covered in papers and files. The only light that dimly illuminated the room came from an antique lamp that sat in the corner behind the desk.

“It’s only three days a week, five hours a day, Gabriel. I’m making a bit of my own money now.”

He shut his eyes, massaging his temples. “We have enough money, Lily.”

I decided to wear a black knit dress this morning with the Victoria’s Secret panty set that I purchased while out shopping with Abigail. I’d planned this encounter from this morning, after thinking about it for days. I walked over to Gabriel and straddled him in the leather chair, pulling my dress up to my waist. He moaned and took a deep breath leaning back, putting his arms around my waist.

“Akecheta, you disobeyed me,” he whispered in my ear while running his hands through my hair.

We kissed for a moment and I playfully nibbled on his bottom lip and kissed his neck. I could feel the ridge of his cock pressing into me, through the lace panties I wore. I took Gabriel’s hands and pressed them into my ass. He leaned to the side so he could get a better view.

“Yum,” he said. “These are nice. You should wear them to bed all the time.” He smiled.

I pulled the dress over my head and unhooked my bra, revealing my breasts, while Gabriel relaxed leaning against the back of the chair, watching me. I moved his hands to squeeze them firmly. Gabriel nuzzled his face in between them, lightly kissing and sucking on each nipple. I
bit back a loud moan, gripping his hand. I settled against the ridge of his cock, undoing my hair, letting it fall around my shoulders, past my breasts.

“You are beautiful. I could look into these baby blues forever,” he said kissing me again and looking into my eyes with a curious expression.

I shoved my hands down between us and undid his zipper. Gabriel stilled my hands.

  “Lily,” he warned.

I was sick of hearing Gabriel tell me when I was ready and when I wasn’t.

  “Gabriel, please,” I begged.

I stuck my hand into his zipper, running my hands along his hard cock, pulling it out. I wanted to sit on it. To take it all in until I was flush against his skin. Gabriel tugged one side of my panties, shredding the material. I stood up and slowly lingered over the top of Gabriel’s big cock for a moment, looking into his brown hooded eyes. My thighs quivered with anticipation. Gabriel licked his lips, gazing up at me. He fisted his cock in his big hand, allowing me to see the clear streams of cum that steadily dribbled from the head of it. He wanted this bad and I knew it. I wanted this.

“Lily, you’re safe with me,” he whispered.

I gave him a small smile and let out a loud moan that I couldn’t help, easing down onto his thick length. His cock stretched and filled me, turning my insides warm. I stilled for a moment, catching my breath and rode him slowly, up and down for what seemed like an hour. I could feel each ridge and vein against my slickness when I sheathed him with my wetness. The friction caused me to cry out helplessly between deep breaths. I impaled myself on his thick length, over and over, until I was covered in sweat and mewling words even I couldn’t understand, against Gabriel’s quivering lips.

His skin was slicked with sweat and his lips were parted, watching me enjoy all thick nine inches of him. He gasped with each movement I made. My pussy throbbed hard around him, arresting him, making sure he would never pull out until I had my fill of him. I moved in a rhythm, watching my sweat-slicked breasts bounce up and down with my movement while I held on to his neck.

I was moaning and whimpering, fucking the shit out of his cock. The chair banged against the metal lamp in the corner of the room. I was certain that in my frenzy as I rode Gabriel it would break. I didn’t care. I was chasing an orgasm that I needed so badly. I needed to feel this again. I was tired of being the scared, broken girl I seemed to now be.

“So beautiful, Lily. You’re so beautiful when you come for me,” Gabriel groaned.

I slowed my pounding in Gabriel’s embrace, moving slowly, while staring him down. He wrapped his hands around the nape of my neck, looking me over. Then he gave me a wide grin before dipping down to take a nipple into his mouth again. The inside of his thighs were covered in my wetness and sweat. I rasped out more incoherent words when I felt my pussy tightening around him. My rhythm grew feverish until I was screaming, throbbing around him. I was coming, finding myself in the throws of a powerful orgasm I knew I’d never felt before, except for with this man. I moaned, propelling myself up on the balls of my shaky feet to fuck him harder. I couldn’t get enough of Gabriel’s cock. I slowed, feeling the sweat drip down the sides of my face.

“Fuck,” Gabriel hissed when his left knee started to quiver helplessly beneath me—that made me proud.

He let out a loud moan, grimacing almost in pain as he held on to my hips, watching me. Then his lips parted and his cock jerked hard deep inside of me, pushing me into another orgasm. I was coming again. I shot up on my feet and dropped hard along the length of his cock until I was screaming and digging into his skin with my fingernails. I rode Gabriel, milking his cock slowly, feeling the last throbs of it as he filled me with his cum. Gabriel made a loud long grunt and pulled me hard against his chest, allowing our breathing to settle.

“My little Akecheta,” he rasped out.

I giggled, kissing his strong shoulder, still breathless and covered in sweat.

“Jacob told me what that means,” I whispered.

  “What what means?

“Akecheta.” He ran both of his hands up behind me, caressing my back and pulling me into him.

“Oh.” Gabriel smirked. “You’ve always been my little fighter,” Gabriel whispered.

I slowly slipped out of Gabriel’s embrace to stand.

“Where are you going?” he asked, looking up at me, looking as disheveled as I did.

  “I was going to shower.”

He smiled. “We’re not done here,” he said. “We are far from done here,” he whispered against my neck.

“How have you been sleeping, Lily?”

“I still dream but mostly they are about my mother. They are not bad but I see her. I smell her faint peach perfume and she talks to me.”

“What does she say?” Dr. Lin asked curiously.

“I’m not certain. I can’t usually recall when I wake up but when she speaks to me she’s smiling.”

“An improvement,” she said giving me a nod.

She’d rearranged the furniture in her office. The carpet beneath my feet was now green and there was some new abstract artwork arranged closely together on the far wall behind where she sat.

“You take notice of more than you think, Lily,” she said, lifting her gaze to meet mine.

  I chuckled lightly.

“You’re observant—that’s good. I get bored quickly. I needed some change in this dull-looking room,” she said. “Most of my patients this week haven’t even noticed.” She laughed.

I took a sip of the glass of water on the table in front of me.

“So, was it everything you thought it would be?”

  “Yes.”

  “And you felt in control?”

  “Yes.”

She tapped her notepad again. I noticed the tapping was something she did when she wanted to say more but debating whether or not it’s necessary.

“The funny thing about control, Lily, is that normally the person that appears to give it up, is actually the one who is really in control.

“If Gabriel knows you as well as I do, he knows control is important to you—when to stop, when to start.

“Especially after what happened to you. If you both are going to have a successful relationship, sexual or otherwise, then you need to be in control for a while. But it doesn’t mean you actually are, Lily. It’s important that you know the difference.”

“So, you’re saying that I’m not actually in control. I only have the illusion of it?”

I sat confused, feeling dense for rephrasing what she just said to me back to her as a question.

“Yes, that’s exactly what I am saying. Gabriel has the control. You just think you do.”

“What are you doing?” I asked Gabriel, as he banged a wooden post into the ground outside of the cottage.

Gabriel squinted his eyes under the rays of the sun. His dark hair poked out from beneath the hat he had on. His shirt hung open slightly, revealing the intricate tattoos around his collarbone.

“It’s for the horses. There’s no anchor over here, so I’m building one for Jack and Winnie.”

“Okay,” I muttered, looking at the mixture of dirt and snow on the ground for a moment.

When I raised my eyes, Gabriel was already staring directly at me...waiting.

“Did you hear that Miles quit?”

Gabriel smiled and went back to banging the post into the ground. The sound of each thump vibrated through the ground where I stood.

“Yeah, I heard he’s gone, Lily. I never liked that guy,” he said curtly.

He continued to bang the post into the ground. With each heave of the sledgehammer from the ground he drew a deep breath and grunted.

His face was already sheened with sweat. I stared at him for a long while and couldn’t help but reminisce about our three sessions from the night before and how much I wanted it again. Watching him work was distracting me from what I’d come to ask him. I kicked some dirt on the ground with my boot but the question was burning to be asked.r />
“Did you make him leave, Gabriel?”

He stood up straight and let the sledgehammer fall to the side on the ground. It made a loud thud as it hit the muddy ground.

  “Yes. Jacob fired him.”

“For what? He’s never done anything to you.”

“Jacob fired him, Lily, because he stalks you around on and off this ranch all day and he killed my fucking dog!”

This was unreal. Gabriel’s thinking was absurd and Jacob lied to me. Gabriel walked towards me.

“Why do you care, Lily?” Gabriel said snarkily, cocking his head to the side looking me over.

“You just always seemed like you hated him, Gabriel.”

  “Well, maybe I do.”

He approached me while removing his gloves. He ran his hands through my hair and pulled me to his chest. He nuzzled me into his flannel shirt. I inhaled the natural scent of him and hard work.

“Lily, the best decision was made. Besides, Lee may be young but he can do Miles’ job just as well, if not better.”

I met his browns again. “I just don’t think it’s fair that he’s lost his job just because you don’t like him. We are leaving in a month anyhow. Jobs are hard enough to find.

“How could Miles be at fault for Sable’s accident? To say that just-just sounds insane, Gabriel!”

“Lily, you don’t understand.” He sighed, kissing me gently. “I’m sure Miles will find another job.”

We’d just finished dinner. It was almost dark outside. The last rays of sunlight disappeared into the horizon, turning the sky tangerine rose. It was the most beautiful sunset I’d seen in a while.

The room was quiet. I could only hear myself breathing. Gabriel stepped closer to me. The heat that was coming off his body was incredible. I stood next to the bed, barefoot on the wooden floor. Gabriel kissed my neck softly, moving my hair to one side over my shoulder. He was naked, towering over me, raining kisses along my collarbone. I could feel his cock pressing hotly against my ass. Instantly, I felt the moisture pool at my center and beginning to trickle down the inside of my thighs. Gabriel gripped the back of my neck firmly and immediately loosened his grip. I moaned. He was restraining himself but I didn’t want him to.
