Jaden smiled at her now, but kept his hand focused on the hardening tip of her breast. “I’m glad you like this.”

“I do.” She grinned back, her insides morphing into jelly.

He dipped his head then, and touched her sensitive nipple with his soft, wet tongue. “You’ve already introduced me to this lovely part of your body, but it’s nice to visit again and again, isn’t it?” With that, he sucked hard on her breast, taking in as much skin as he could.

For a moment, Mia found it hard to speak. Muscles all over her body started tightening, responding to Jaden’s attack on her very receptive nerve endings. “Oh, God. Very nice.”

“Do you want more kisses in more places?” Jaden asked while she was still out of breath.

“Uh huh,” she said with a deep sigh. Almost without thinking, she wrapped her arms around Jaden’s neck and ran her fingers across the top of his broad shoulders. It was so good to have such a man in her grasp. It was difficult to release him, but she knew he wasn’t finished.

“Mia, the taste of your skin…” His breath came hard and heavy, and his erection was growing again. He kissed down her stomach and licked around her navel, little light touches that would have tickled if she hadn’t become so aroused.

When he stroked his lips against the joint of her hip, he ran his fingers over the hair covering her feminine lips. “You want me to kiss you here, is that right?”

“Yes.” As she closed her eyes, her breath caught in her throat.

“No one has ever done this to you before?”

She shook her head in response.

“I like the idea of being the first.” His hot breath was so close to her now. “Something between just you and me.”

For an instant his touch was so soft she was afraid he’d shifted away. But, then his mouth, his tongue, was there, stroking her sex, and he was just beginning. “You are so lovely here.” His raspy voice was full of desire. “Of course, you are lovely everywhere. But here…” His fingers gently slipped between her folds and captured her clitoris. She could feel it pulsing from his touch. “Here, where I touch you and you shiver with pleasure, you are glorious.” His voice grew more ragged. “Yesterday I wanted so much to be with you like this. I couldn’t then.”

  “But you can now.”

He lightly pursed his lips as he kissed her little bud. The soft reverent gesture made her squirm with heightened passion. She needed more, wanted more now.

Mia drew in a deep breath and held it—hoping he would swallow her whole. When she begged him to continue, his tongue sluiced over her clitoris and then sucked the slick little knot into his mouth. Her heart fluttered again and she wanted to scream. No man had ever made her feel like this.

“Oh, Jaden!” She cried as his tongue twirled around and around, making her sex explode with little tremors. If he hadn’t been holding her thighs firmly apart she would have spun off the bed. Mia sobbed as a big wave of pleasure shot through her being and sent her crashing. She splintered into a million wonderful pieces. She didn’t know if she wanted to feel completely whole ever again.

During the next twenty-four hours, they mated almost constantly. Sometimes they joined together in a frantic coupling and other times they pleasured each other in a gentle, unhurried way.

After Jaden’s heat had passed, it was necessary to focus on the ship, and they worked almost constantly on fixing his vessel. They both understood the importance of their tasks. During that time, Jaden spoke warmly to her, but he kept his hands and the rest of his body to himself.

She was stunned when he suddenly made a big announcement: “We’ll rendezvous with help in eight hours.”

“Eight hours? So, now we just wait?”

“Yes,” he said. “The ship is repaired. All the systems are now operational.”

“I know a good way to use some of that time.”

Jaden’s brows knit together until her fingers laced down his arm. The corners of his lips turned up slightly. “We don’t have to do that anymore.”

“You don’t want to?” She stepped back embarrassed. He didn’t want her anymore?

He smiled. “No, it’s not that.”

“I was just thinking how nice it would be to touch each other when we didn’t have to.” Her mind and her body weren’t giving up. She wanted to be with him again.

“You don’t have to…” Jaden’s attempt to be chivalrous made her shiver. His gentle heart and strong arms made him the kindest and most compassionate man.

“I know that. This is because I want to.” She cupped a hand at the nape of his neck and dragged his mouth down to hers. When their lips came together, Mia smiled at Jaden’s quick intake of breath. She was pleased to have him off balance already.

Her eyes locked on his as she tore off her jacket and helped Jaden divest his upper garment. She knew his skin now, knew where to stroke him lightly and where he craved a stronger touch. “Do you like this, Jaden?” she whispered, her fingers gently skimming over the sinewy flesh on his rock hard shoulders and pecs. When she grazed his nipples, he shuddered but didn’t shift away.

“Mia, I don’t know if we should do this. With the heat, we didn’t have a choice.”

“I disagree,” she said, ignoring his words. “I know we should do this.” She tilted her head to kiss his neck and run her lips along the side of his throat. She smiled at his salty male taste.

“Mia,” he gasped, as he dragged her to him, his hard shaft pressing the soft skin of her belly. “You take away all sanity, all reason.” Then, he scooped her into his arms and embraced her.

She laughed aloud. “Reason and sanity are terribly overrated.” She kissed him again, allowing her mouth to press softly to his. His lips opened easily for her, and his tongue tangled with hers. Then his mouth crushed hers and they both couldn’t breathe. Needing more, Mia kissed the very corner of his mouth and ran her tongue around the edges. When he pulled back slowly and nibbled on her lower lip, she sighed with contentment.

Jaden possessively cupped her jaw with his large hands, and lifted her chin to feather her face with soft kisses. When he planted his lips on hers again, she smiled.

“So I guess you like this kissing business?” she asked, already knowing the answer.

“Yes, with you I like it very much.” He grinned as he joined his lips to hers then journeyed down her neck to her breasts.

“And you like these too?” She giggled as his tongue flicked over her nipple and sucked on the hard tip.

  “I like everything about you.”

Mia sighed as she kissed the side of his face. The stubble on his unshaved cheek left her pink and raw, but she loved how his heat and roughness bristled her skin. Then, her fingers slid down his stomach and palmed the growing bulge in his pants. “I think you want to do more than kissing.”

“You now know me well.” Through her pants, he skimmed down her body and rubbed the line that separated her sex. “And, I know you too.”

“Ah, Jaden,” she cried out as he held her firmly in his grasp. From the waist up they were skin to skin, and she shuddered as he pressed his very hard erection against her. “Jaden.” His name murmured in her throat.

He slid off his pants and took hers too in the blink of an eye. Instead of carrying her back to his bed, he dropped into his captain’s chair and pulled her down with him. She panted as she faced him, and shifted so her knees cuddled his hips. “I’ve imagined the two of us together like this,” he said as he grabbed her buttocks and positioned her over his cock.

“Then, let’s do it,” she said without blush or embarrassment, easing herself over his shaft.

She sighed as he cupped her bottom, holding her close, raising and lowering her onto his cock. “Mia, every time we do this…” He gasped. “I want more.”

“I do too.” Her body throbbed as he filled her.

Mia grabbed on to the wide arms of the chair. “Let me,” she ordered, taking over the rhythm as she brushed her mouth again his neck.

&n
bsp; Jaden grinned as he rolled his palms over her hips and thighs. “My arms are free.”

“I think you know how to use those talented fingers.”

Jaden smiled and kissed her back. Then, his hand wove between her legs and pressed the point of her pleasure. “Only for you, Mia. Only for you.”

“Jaden, don’t ever stop,” she cried as she reached for the stars.

“I won’t. I promise,” he murmured into her hair as they both moaned and found their pleasure.

“Mom, Dad, I’m fine. I’m really fine,” Mia said as her parents enveloped her in big bear hugs minutes after they landed back on Delphus.

She grabbed for Jaden’s hand to pull him closer, but he stayed outside the circle of her family. “This is Jaden Zoma. He rescued me. He…” She stumbled over the next few words. It would be impossible to explain what Jaden meant to her. He was more than her savior, more than her lover.

Her parents were grateful to Jaden and thanked him profusely for rescuing their daughter. At the same time, they wanted to get her home. Her sisters, her grandmother, and a mountain of aunts and uncles couldn’t wait to see her.

“I’ll see you later,” Mia said to Jaden as her mother pulled her from the room and into a vehicle that would take her home.

“Yes, later,” he replied, and then she was gone.

The next three days were a whirlwind. First, there was the wonderful reunion with her extended family. Then, she retold the story of her capture and rescue again and again to Delphus officials. She wondered how many government agencies needed to hear her first-hand testimony. At the same time, it was her duty to be as helpful as she could be. She didn’t want any other females to face her near fate. She prayed Rolof Walish never had a sex captive again.

Mia knew Jaden was busy providing similar reports to leaders on Delphus and his information would be even more valuable than hers. He had broken the Bermer transmission code to Santara, successfully boarded the enemy ship, and retrieved that scandalous chip from her body. She was pleased no one had pressed her about that part of her capture and rescue.

When the interviews were finally over, she was free to get back to her life. She hoped never to see the inside of a government building again.

Standing outside of the security office, her interviewer took her hand and shook it hard. “You’ve provided a great service to Delphus.”

“I’m glad to have helped,” she said, meaning it.

“I see your rescuer has also just finished up.” The man pointed to a small group of men and women standing at a nearby exit. They were also saying their goodbyes. “He’s a very brave man.”

“Yes, he is,” she said barely listening. “Excuse me, please.”

“Jaden,” she called out, her heart ready to explode.

“Mia.” He stepped away from the others and smiled.

She took in his dark serious eyes, strong jaw, soft lips. “I’ve missed you.”

  “Me too.”

  Then, he dropped the bomb.

“It’s time I leave,” he explained, gently holding her hands in his own.

Leave? A knot lodged in her throat. “So soon?”

“I have business I must attend to.”

“Of course, I understand,” she stammered. “I know you’ve lost a lot of time because of me.”

“Mia, there’s nothing I regret.” His lips curved uneasily as he pulled her into his arms, and lightly kissed the top of her head. “Nothing.”

“Don’t go,” she whispered into his chest.

“I have to,” he said hoarsely, lifting his hand to stroke her hair.

She raised her head to meet his tender gaze. “I love you. I know it’s soon, but I know how I feel.”

“I realize how confusing things are after all we’ve been through.” He paused, his fingers still trailing through her hair. “You’re so beautiful. You have so many choices here.”

She took a deep breath. It was now or never. “Jaden, when a woman says she loves you, you have two options: tell her you love her back or tell her you don’t. Talking about other choices you think she may have is not on the list.”

He sighed heavily. “Mia, it’s not that easy. I have so little to offer you. Your wonderful family…”

She shook her head. “You’re doing it again. You have two choices—tell me you love me or tell me you don’t.”

His eyes locked on hers, and she saw the emotion there. Her lips trembled. She hadn’t been wrong. “Of course I love you. How could I not fall in love with you?”

She stood high on the tips of her toes to kiss his lips. “That’s all I need. That’s all I’ll ever need, and we’ll figure out the rest.” When he took her into his arms and kissed her back, she knew fate had brought her all the happiness in the world.

  About the Author

Writing has always been a part of my life. I loved to write short stories as a little girl, and I majored in communications in college. While I’ve spent most of my career as a public relations writer, I’ve dreamed of being a romance novelist.

I was fortunate to meet my own personal romance hero during college. We met at a fraternity party my freshman year at school and became fast friends. One night I was eating dinner at his fraternity, and my future husband suavely sat on a table beside me to chat. Unfortunately, that table was missing a leg and it collapsed on my arm. When he called the next day to check on me, I had to tell him my arm was broken. (It was!) Devastated but still gallant, he asked me out on a date. We’ve now been married more than a few decades and have two teenage sons.
