My Everything

  She blinks her eyes, she knows that he has to feed or he will go to someone else. “But don’t—” her yawn cuts off her sentence. “Don't you have to feed?”

  Jennifer can see Phoenix's smile again. “No darling, I don’t need to feed all the time. Usually every two-three days. But with you I don't want to keep my hands off of you. Now, lets go back to bed.” She nods and scoots back on the bed.

  She lays down, and Phoenix moves her so her head is back on his chest. Smiling she says, “good night.”

  She hears his deep rumble of his chuckle. “Good night my darling angel.” He says and kisses the top of her head. Jennifer falls asleep in the arms of the man she is crazy for.

  About four hours later Jennifer wakes up to Phoenix kissing her. She giggles when his whiskers are tickling her neck.

  “Good morning beautiful. We need to get ready for work.” He kiss the tip of her nose, then he moves away from her. “Your new clothes are hanging in the closet on the left side.” She sits up, and the sheet falls to her waist.

  She looks down at her belly, it is huge! “Oh my god.” She says, and Phoenix rushes back to her.

  “What's wrong?” He looks into her eyes, then looks down her bare body. “Wow.” He whispers.

  She looks at the closed closet and wonders if he has anything that will cover up her new enlarged belly. “Do you have something in there that will cover this up?” She points down at her belly.

  He laughs and shrugs. “I have no clue. I paid a personal shopper to do it. I told her to get a few different sizes. Let's go and see.” He smiles then gets out of bed. He walks over and opens that closet, she follows him.

  Her mouth dopes open. His closet is bigger than her apartment. “Holy freaking cow, you can fit my car in here.”

  He laughs, and she grins. “Try on some of your new clothes.” She looks at the left, and smiles.

  She pulls out this black and red dress that wraps around her and ties at her belly. She tries it one and it fits her like a glove. “Oh I love this.” She says, and grins at Phoenix.

  He walks over to her and kisses her. He pulls away leaving her breathless. “You look beautiful.”

  She winks at him, which make him laugh. “I'm going to use the restroom, and shower.”

  He nods, “that's fine. I already showered, I just need to shave.”

  She nods and walks pass him. “See you in a little bit.” She says and sways her hips, a little more that she needs to. She hears him moan, and she smiles.

  She walks over to the railing that has a few hangers on it, and hangs up her dress. Then she walks to the toilet, when she whips she sees a lot of blood. “Phoenix!” She yells, and he slams open the door. She holds up the toilet paper, and his eyes widen.

  “I'm going to call Max, but first I’m going to bring you to bed.” She nods, and he lifts her up as if she doesn't weigh anything. He carries her to the bed and lays her down. He grabs his phone.

  “Max, Jennifer is bleeding.” He keeps his eyes on Jennifer. “I didn’t look, hang on.”

  Phoenix walks over to her and hands her the phone. “He wants to talk to you.” She takes it, and he returns to the bathroom.

  “Jennifer, are you cramping?” Max asks, and yawn.

  “No.” She says.

  “Are you feeling the babies move?”

  She touches her swollen belly and they don’t respond. “No.” Phoenix walks back into the bedroom, and he is pale. He smiles, but she has a feeling something is wrong. He holds out his hand for the phone and she gives it to him.

  “There is a lot.” He listen for a few minutes and shuts his eyes. “We will be there soon.” He ends the call and looks at her. “We need to get to your place. Max wants to check you.”

  Jennifer can feel her body go numb. “Am I losing our babies?”

  Phoenix shakes his head. “Hell no I won't let that happen.” He puts his hand out for her to take. She puts her hand in his, and he pulls her up to him. She glances at the bed and there is a bloodstain on the sheets. She can feel her eyes fill with her tears. “Oh shit, we need to go now. I will have Mark follow us with your car.”

  She nods, she isn’t in the mood to be driving. “Can you hand me my purse?” She knows she still has a few tampons and a pad in there. He grabs her purse and hands it to her. “Thanks, I need panties.

  He walks over to his dresser drawers and hands her red lace boy shorts. “I will go and tell Mark what's going on.” He walks out of the room and she puts her hands on her belly.

  “Please be okay.” She whispers and a few tears fall from her eyes.

  Chapter Thirteen

  Jennifer walks out of the bathroom, and sees Phoenix. She knows he can tell that she has been crying.

  “Oh darling, everything is going to be fine.” She nods and hopes so. She still hasn’t felt the babies move. “I'm going to carry you down the stairs and to my SUV. Mark has already left with your car.”

  She shakes her head, there is no way she is letting him carry her all that way. “You can't carry me that far.”

  He smiles, and walks to her. “Darling, I can and will.” He scoops her up, and she smiles weakly at him. “Let's go.”

  Jennifer can't believe Phoenix carried her all that way, but he did. “I want to carry you inside.”

  She shakes her head. “No, I can walk.” She looks at him and he doesn’t look happy. “Phoenix, if I need you to carry me I will tell you.”

  He looks out of the window. “Fine, but I am opening your door.” She knows she has made him mad, and she doesn’t care. She is worried, and doesn’t want to be treated like a child. He opens his door and she watches him walk over to her side. He left his suite jacket in the car.

  He opens her door and helps her out. “Thank you.” He nods, and she walks ahead of him.

  It doesn’t take long before he is holding her hand. “I'm sorry I’m acting like an ass, but I am scared out of my mind.”

  She looks at him. “I am too.” She squeezes his hand, and he squeezes back.

  Before they get to her door, Megan rushes out and to them. “Oh Jenny!” Her best friend wraps her arms around Jennifer. “Max, told me what's going on. Come on he is waiting for you in your room.” Megan grabs Jennifer's other hand and pulls her into their apartment.

  Max is standing against her doorframe. “Jennifer I need you to lay on the edge of your bed, with your feet hanging off the side.” She nods and does what he says. He has some gloves already sitting on her head, along with the portable ultrasound. “Good now this is going to hurt. I’m going to check and if you are dilated.” She nods and lays back. As he is checking she is biting her lip.

  “You are three centimeters. I’m going to check the babies now.” Megan hands him a blanket to put on top of her, and then he lifts her dress up to her chest.

  “Is three centimeters, bad?” She asks Max. He shakes his head. “It’s not normal, for how far along as you are. But that might mean you will be having these babies soon.” She feels the cold lubricant on her and then she feels him moving the wand. She holds her breath and closes her eyes. “I see, Jennifer your babies are too big in there. I think you'll be having them soon.”

  She opens her eyes, and Max smiles at her. “They are okay?” He nods.

  “But the amount of blood scares me. I want you on bed rest. That means you are not allowed up unless you are in the bathroom, and even then only fifteen minutes all day. So no more working.” She looks at Phoenix, he nods at her.

  “You are going to stay with me. We'll have a girls day!” Megan says, and Jennifer winks at her best friend.

  Max winks and gives her a grin. “Hon, why don’t we give them some alone time. You will have Jennifer all day. But I want her to rest.” She sits up and watches Megan's face light up as Max puts his arm around her shoulders.

  “Sure.” She doesn’t take her eyes off of Max, they walk out of Jennifer's room together.

  “Darling, I have to go to work today, and then I have a dinner meeti
ng tonight.” She frowns at him.

  “So I won't see you at all today or tonight?” He sits next to her on the bed and takes her hand in his.

  “I'll try like hell to come over tonight.” He brings her hand to his warm soft lips. “Just do what Max says and stay in bed.” He leans in and gently kisses her lips.

  “Okay.” She smiles against his lips.

  He stands up and lets go of her hand. “Bye my darling angel.” He winks and walks out of the door.

  Megan comes in and Jennifer lays back on her bed. Her best friend joins her. She falls asleep snuggle with Megan.

  Phoenix and Max walk quietly out of the apartment. He is so happy that his babies are okay.

  “Are you sure Jennifer is okay?” Max nods.

  “Yes, but I wasn’t kidding. She will be having those babies soon. If I would have to guess I would say in the next two-three days.”

  Phoenix can't believe he is going to be a father that soon. He smiles and hopes they look like Jennifer, or at least get her smile. He is memorizes by her beautiful smile.

  “You got it really bad for her, and the sad part is you don’t even know it.” Phoenix shakes his head.

  “I can't love anyone, it's not in my DNA.” Phoenix says as they walks out of the warm building.

  Max shakes his head. “That is a lie, you love those babies already.” Phoenix looks away, because he does love his babies already. “Jennifer isn't going to leave you like your mother.”

  Phoenix knows that, but it is still on the back of his mind. “I have to go, I have a meeting in twenty minutes.”

  “Give her a chance, try to let her into your heart Phoenix.”

  Phoenix laughs and nods. He only wishes it was that easy.

  ***

  Jennifer only woke up one time all day, and it was when Megan forced her to eat some chicken and rice. She looks at the clock, and knows that Phoenix is already home. She gets out of bed and walks out to the living room. Max and Megan are cuddling on the couch.

  Max looks up at her and narrows his eyes. “Hey I am heading to Phoenix's I will stay laying down when I get there.”

  Megan stands up and smiles. “I will bring you.”

  Jennifer shakes her head. “No, it only takes me ten minutes to get there.”

  She looks back at Max, and he nods. “Fine, but promise me you will be laying down and resting. And light sex is fine.” He winks, and she blushes.

  Jennifer know that Phoenix is busy, but she wants to see him. He wanted her to move in with him, so she knocks on the door. Mark opens the door and smiles at her. He is very handsome like Phoenix, and she wonders if he is an incubus. He has light brown hair, and hazel-blue eyes.

  “Ms. Cruz.” He nods and smiles at her. “How are you feeling?”

  She returns his beautiful smile. “Mark, call me Jennifer. And I am feeling better. Is Phoenix home?” She knows that is a dumb question she saw his car when she pulled up.

  He nods, and glances away from her. She has a feeling he is hiding something. “He is.” He turns his hazel-blue eyes back to hers. “Would you like me to get him?” She has a really bad feeling and she is scared. The last time she had this feeling it was with Ryan.

  She shakes her head, and walks pass him into the house. Jennifer walks up the stairs, as she walks pass a room she hears a woman’s laughter. She comes to a stop, and turns her head to the door. It is open a little and she can see red hair.

  “Phoenix, I am so happy you took me up on my offer.” Melissa turns around, Jennifer sees Phoenix smiles at the other woman.

  “Melissa I had fun. Thank you.” Jennifer watches Melissa throw her arms around his neck. Jennifer can feel her heart breaking, Phoenix doesn’t push her away. Instead he smiles down at her. Melissa stands up on her tippy toes to bring her lips to his.

  Jennifer can feel her heart drop to her stomach as she watches his lips touch Melissa's. When his lips are on hers, he wraps his arms around her back.

  She has seen enough, she slams the door open. And is impressed when it hits the wall, Phoenix and Melissa jump apart. His eyes widen when he sees her, and Melissa smirks.

  “What the hell is going on!” She yells, and Phoenix starts to walk towards her. She shakes her head. “No! You said you had a business meeting, and I see you making out with this slut.” She can feel her babies starting to go crazy inside her, she wonders if they know what is going on. She slows her breathing, she doesn't want and stress for them.

  “Darl—” She doesn't let him finish.

  She glares at him. “Don't you dare call me darling, I’m not your darling.” She turns to walk away knowing he will come after her.

  She walks down the stairs and meets Mark's sad eyes, she has to look away or she will cry. She is stopped by a hand on her shoulder.

  “Jennifer, please let me explain.” She looks at his hand and pushes it off.

  She turns around, and shakes her head. “There is nothing to explain. I saw you kissing another woman after you promised me you wouldn't! You cannot drain me, so there is no reason you should be kissing her.” She can feel her tears filling her eyes. He brings his hand up to her face, but she slaps it away before he could touch her. “Don't touch me!” He knows that this was her biggest fear, and he did it, he cheated on her.

  She keeps her eyes on his, and she can see the regret in his face. “Jennifer I am so sorry. Melissa doesn't mean anything to me.” He grabs her hands, and she doesn't fight him. “You mean everything to me. You are the soon to be mother of my babies.”

  Jennifer shakes her head, and she feels her tears falling. “That isn't enough anymore. I need more if you want me to stay.” She knows she will never own his heart.

  He closes his eyes. “I already asked you to marry me, what else can I offer you?” He opens his midnight blue eyes.

  She takes back her hands. “Your heart Phoenix. I want you to love me. That is all I ever wanted.” She throws her arms up and looks around. “I don't care about any of this, your money means nothing to me.” His face is blank, she can't read anything.

  His shoulders drop, and so does his head. “I can't love you.”

  She welcomes her tears because he is tearing her heart into pieces. “Then I can't be with you.” She says through her sobs.

  He looks up at her and he has crazy eyes. “What do you mean, you can't be with me. Fuck Jennifer, we are having twins anytime.”

  Even with her tears she gives him a smile. “You will be their father no matter what, but I won't be with you. I am done, seeing you with her killed me. You know what Ryan did, and you still cheated on me.”

  “Damn it Jennifer, it was one stupid kiss!” He doesn't get it, he doesn't see why a kiss would hurt her.

  “It wasn't a stupid kiss. What would have happened if I didn't walk in?” He glares at her.

  “I wouldn't have fucked her. Like you said I can fuck you and not drain you, so there is no point in having someone else.” She nods, and turns around. She is done, and tired. “Darling, please don't leave me. I will do anything to make it up to you. Please don't walk out.” He just did it, he just completely broke her heart.

  She stops at the door but doesn't turn around. “There is only one way I will say Phoenix. Tell me you love me and I will never walk out this door.” She waits for about thirty seconds, and nods. “Good bye Phoenix.” She walks out the door and walks to her car.

  As she is driving away she looks into the review mirror one more time, and her tears are falling from her eyes.

  Phoenix stares at the door that Jennifer just walked out of. He can't believe she saw him kissing Melissa, he can't even believe he was kissing her. He sees movement in the corner of his eye, and sees Mark.

  “I'm sorry sir.” He says, and Phoenix just shakes his head. Jennifer is too upset to be driving.

  “Can you follow her, and make sure she gets home safely?” He asks his employee.

  “Of course.” Mark nods and walks out of the
door.

  Phoenix heads up the stairs to a waiting Melissa. He walks into his office, and smile lights up when he walks in.

  “Melissa what happened was a mistake.” He says, and she glares at him.

  “No, you and Jennifer were the mistake. We fit together better.” As she walks towards him she sways her hips. “I know you want me. I can see it.” She is now standing in front of him, she tries to touch his face and he takes her hand in his.

  “No we don't fit together, I fit with Jennifer. She is pregnant with my babies.” He turns her around and pushes her to the door. “Now leave Melissa, I will be buying you out in the morning.” He gently pushes her out of her door.

  “Fuck you Phoenix!” He hears her walking down the stairs.

  When he is alone he drops to his knees. He just lost Jennifer and he has no clue how he will get her back. He puts his head in his hands, and tries to think of something.

  Jennifer slams the front door of her apartment shut, and Megan runs out of her bedroom barely dressed. Max stands behind her without a shirt on.

  “Bastard.” She says and tries to walk pass Megan. She doesn't let her, she grabs her arm.

  “What the hell happened?” Megan turns Jennifer around and puts her hands on her shoulders.

  “Phoenix.” She hiccups, and more tears fall. “He cheated on me!”

  Through Jennifer's tears she can see Megan's face become bright red. That happens when she is really pissed off. “I am going to cut his balls off! Then what kind of fucking incubus can he be?” Jennifer shakes her head, she doesn’t want that.

  “No, I’m just ahhhhh!” She would have fallen to her knees if Megan wasn’t hold on to her. She can feel her stomach becoming rock hard, and Max touches her stomach.

  “Jennifer you are in labor. Put your arms around my neck.” She gives him her best nod. She does what he asked. “Now breath, and Megan call Phoenix. He should know he is becoming a father soon.”

  “Jenny do you want me to call him?” She thinks about it for a second, then nods. She loves him, and he deserves to be here. “Fine.”
