Dwyer, Dixie Lynn - SWAT Team Seven: Goddess of the Circle [The Men of Five-0 #5] (Siren Publishing LoveXtreme Forever) Page 20

by Dixie Lynn Dwyer

“You’re safe now, Kamea. No one can ever hurt you again,” Gideon said.

“I’m home now. This is where I belong, and with the six of you by my side, we can ensure the protection and strength of were law for centuries to come. This is my home, my heritage. But I am afraid that I am far from safe, my mates. There is work to be done and spiritual creatures to protect. We can do it together.”

In the distance the sounds of Polynesian drums performing the sunset dance echoed on the heels of the tropical breeze. She could hear her family, her ancestors’ voices on the wind. As the Goddess of the circle, there would always be danger and always someone or something challenging the powers of the unknown. Kamea knew she was strong and determined to continue her family legacy and to do her part no matter what danger lay ahead. And there would be danger. She sensed it on the tip of the breeze that descended upon her as she stood with her men in paradise.

I will continue my father’s legacy. I will protect the elders at all costs. Until the final three goddesses are located and secured in their position, the circle and were law will continue to be a target of our enemies. But for now, I will relish in being home, finding and loving my mates, and having peace of mind tonight that Morago is behind bars. One enemy down and only the gods know how many more to come.

Tilting her chin toward the warmth of the sun, she felt pride and peacefulness fill her soul. She was home again, the Polynesian, Goddess of the circle, the chosen one, and she would never feel alone again.

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

People seem to be more interested in my name than where I get my ideas for my stories from. So I might as well share the story behind my name with all my readers.

My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern day arranged marriage kind of thing and my momma downright refused.

Being that my momma’s families were descendents of the original English speaking Southerners, they wanted the family blood line to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.

Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.

I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true Southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.

Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.
