Beneath Our Faults Page 21

by Charity Ferrell

"I've know that shit all along," he rasped out, his soft lips pressing into mine softly. The warm sensation of his tongue gliding along the outer corner of my mouth like he was devouring me sunk into my stomach and I leaned in closer wanting more. My mouth edged open allowing his tongue access.

I flew up at the loud bang on the hood of his car, screeching and knocking my head on the ceiling. I twisted around in his lap to see Lane standing at the front of his car. "Damn, keep it in the bedroom you little freaks," he snickered, giving us a thumbs up.

"Everywhere we go, we create an audience," I sighed, using my hands to cover my shaking head.

"That's because we have this raw, animalistic sexual chemistry between us that is undeniable. It intrigues people. They envy us," he answered, pulling me back into him. "Now, shall we take this to the balcony where we first laid eyes on one another. I was undressing you with my eyes while you-

"Were watching you have sex with someone else," I interrupted him, smacking his chest. "Way to ruin the mood and hell no, that balcony has been corrupted. We need to burn it down."

"Nah," he said, putting the car in drive and I climbed back to my seat, receiving a small smack on my ass. "We are going to give it some new memories. Or we can make a movie?”

I frowned. “Too soon?” he asked

“I don’t think there will ever be a good time we can joke about that,” I laughed, shaking my head and my lips curved up at the smile creator beside me.

He might not be the out-of-the-story book knight in shining amour but he was my prince. He gave me back happiness when I never thought it would exist for me again. When we met, I was broken, never to be fixed but somehow he had managed to put the broken shards together.

Keegan helped me heal, move on and love again. And despite our faults, we both loved each other too much to allow them to get in the way. The tragic ending of my first love ended up being the beautiful beginning of my next one.

Charity Ferrell was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and still resides there with her future hubby, two Yorkies (who run the house), and cat. When she’s not writing, you can find her reading, spending time with her chaotic family or watching entirely too much TV.
