“Oh God,” she whispered, looking at Bones who darted a cautious gaze around. “What’s the information?”

The phone buzzed in her hand and she nearly dropped it, letting Bones snatch it from her hands.

“What does it say?” she whispered as he read.

“It’s an address. I think that’s a hospital. And a name to ask for.”

“That’s it? Is it the institute?”

He shook his head. “I don’t think so.”

“Oh God,” Winter said weakly. “This is it.”

“Hey,” Bones scolded lightly. “Shit Rainers.”

She nodded absently. “Right, Shit Rainers,” she repeated, feeling dizzy as she looked around for any dark cars and scary men in suits “What do you think he wants you to do?”

“I have no idea.” He turned and yanked the gas nozzle from the holder and opened the tank.

“Are you going to that address?” she asked, coming to stand next to him.

“I think so,” he said, watching the numbers before looking at her. “He’s not going away.”

She knew this was true and she forced herself to nod. “Okay then. We go. Together.”

He leaned in and she met him halfway for a kiss. “That’s my girl.”

“This looks like a regular old hospital,” Winter whispered when they finally found the address. “Look, visitor parking right there,” she pointed to the right. Bones turned and they drove for another five minutes looking for a vacancy.

When they found one, they made their way inside to the first desk and Bones walked up to it, holding Winter’s hand. “I’m looking for a Shirley Freemon?”

“Is this for an appointment?” the woman asked, typing into the computer.

  “Uh, yes.”

“Ah, she’s in the records department. Fourth floor. Elevators are behind you.”

“Thank you,” Winter said as Bones turned to leave without another word. They got in the elevator and she pressed the number 4, then watched the doors close.

Winter squeezed his fingers tight, her stomach in knots. “I’m so fucking nervous,” she muttered.

  “Me too,” he said.

“Wow, you hold that shit well.”

“It’s a learned art,” he muttered.

She looked up at him and studied his face. He suddenly looked at her. “What?”

  “I’m just looking,” she said.

  “At what?”

“At what you look like while practicing this art. You look very serious.”

He cracked a grin and she smiled at seeing it. He looked back down at her. “I should fuck you somewhere in this hospital before this is over.”

She faced forward and made her face serious. “Yes you should, Mr. Bones.” She looked up at him, holding her super sober stance. “How am I doing?”

“With what?” he muttered, mirth dancing in his eyes.

“With my hide-shit-well art. I’m learning under an expert named Bones,” she whispered, making him laugh right as the door opened.

“Uh oh,” he said, grinning at her. “You fucked up.”

She shoved him. “I can’t do that for more than ten seconds,” she hissed, latching a terrified arm in his as they stepped out and looked around. “Desk,” Winter whispered, heading to it.

At seeing the place loaded with young nurses, she stepped up. “We’re looking for Mrs. Shirley Freemon. We have an appointment.”

“She’s on her afternoon break, but she’ll be back in thirty minutes. Her office is at the end of that hall on the left,” she pointed before smiling at Bones.

“Thank you honey,” Winter said before turning and pulling Bones down the hall. “Hussy,” she muttered. “Do you feel violated? Did you feel her raping you with her fucking eyeballs?”

Bones’ laughter sputtered out in low snickers as they walked. They reached the door for the records office and found a CLOSED sign on the window with a time it re-opened. “We wait, I guess,” she said.

Bones glanced around, then tried the door on his right.

“What are you doing!” she hissed.

  “Looking.”

“What if there’s people? What are you looking for?”

“The perfect room,” he whispered, opening another door and peering in. He gave a naughty look over his shoulder and called her with a toss of his head.

She hurried over and looked in. “It’s a closet,” she hissed, laughing.

Bones stepped inside and pulled her with him then shut the door.

“Oh my God,” she whispered, hearing him undo his pants in the sudden darkness. “You’re fucking kidding,” she cried, holding in her laughter.

“Don’t worry, you’re just sucking my cock.”

She gasped. “Is that it? What if I don’t want to?”

“Then I’ll do all the work and not let you have a single taste.”

“God,” she whispered, dropping to her knees and yanking his underwear down. She grabbed his cock in both hands and sucked with a ferocity.

At hearing his breath shoot out followed by choked groans, her lust multiplied, making her need to drive him crazy. She yanked his pants down more and shoved one of his legs up. Wetting her finger, she worked it into his ass while sucking him deep and hard.

“Fuuuuuck,” he grit, pulling her hair now. “Fucking mouth is hot. Fuck my ass,” he grunted. “Fucking harder, do it harder,” he hissed, his breath shaking.

She worked another finger inside him, moving it fast and deep as she bobbed on his cock, forcing the head against her throat while raking her nails over his balls.

“Don’t stop,” he shot out, his fingers biting harder on her head as he impaled her throat with bucks of his hips. “I’m fucking coming in your mouth. Take it all, take it,” he gushed, straining, groaning, hissing as she fucked his ass and took every drop of his hot seed.

He suddenly pulled her up, kissing her while yanking on her pants. Something next to him fell, causing a loud clatter. They both froze. The sound of voices slowly grew louder. Bones grabbed the door handle and held it tight while Winter helped him pull his clothes back up, both fighting laughter.

  “Shhh,” he barely said.

“Is that her? The woman?” she wondered. “I’ll hold the door, finish getting dressed. I can’t believe we’re doing this,” she whispered.

“We’re living,” he said. “We can put this in our wedding album. I’m sure you’ll want to start it from the day I proposed.”

She gasped with a smile as he kissed her. “From the day we met more like. Oh my God,” she whispered. “We could write a book about the shit we’ve been through. Can you imagine? Would make a bestselling novel.”

  “A true Horror Romance.”

She giggled. “I don’t think there’s a genre for us, Bonesy. Are you dressed?”

“Ready,” he said as she opened the door.

The fresh air hit her, making her realize how hot the closet was. They made sure the coast was clear then stepped out. Bones helped fix her hair and straighten her clothes while she inspected him the same.

They walked to the record’s door and the sign that said CLOSED now said OPEN. She eyed him and nodded, knocking on it.

  “It’s open,” a woman’s voice called.

Winter’s body shook from joy of what she’d just done and the terror of what they were about to do. God, it was a nauseating mix. She gripped Bones hand in hers feeling like if they were going to be tortured or hurt, or be shoved off some cliff, rhetorically or literally, she wanted to do it holding his hand. As long as they were together was all that mattered.

“Dr. Peppers said you’d be coming for records. I’ve already pulled them.” An older woman dressed in burgundy hospital scrubs made her way through a long row of shelves before them. She pushed a pair of bi-focal glasses tight to her face and tossed the folder onto the desk then sat at an old looking typewriter. “Now where was I,” she muttered, beginning to peck type.

Winter went forward and picked up the folder, eyed Bones, then the woman who seemed to be done dealing with them. “Who is Dr. Pepper?” Winter asked.

The woman turned giant eyes to them, her nose scrunched like she held her glasses up that way by habit. “He’s the head surgeon over pediatrics.” She eyed both of them. “Will that be all?”

“Yes ma’am,” Bones said, pulling Winter out and taking the folder from her. He tucked it under his arm and they made their way to the elevator. Entering it, Bones hit the first-floor button and the doors slowly closed.

“When are you going to look?” she asked after about two seconds.

  “In the truck,” he muttered.

They rode the elevator in silence for the rest of the way, exited, then made their way to the truck without a word. Once they were in the truck they both sat there, looking straight ahead.

“I think we should burn it,” Winter said, feeling sick. “Something big is in that fucking folder, I can feel it.”

He suddenly handed it to her. “Can you do it?”

She took it without thinking, then stared at it, suddenly wishing she had a person on her right to pass it to. “Okay,” she whispered. “Here we go “

She slowly opened the folder and stared at the technical structure of the document. It’s not a birth certificate,” she whispered, still looking. She scanned the front of the paper and lifted it to a second. “This is about an operation,” he whispered, her heart hammering. His scar. Her fingers shook as she read through the procedure, looking to see what they’d done to him. “Patient was three,” she mumbled, continuing to read. Her eyes froze on the words and she stared, re-reading them again as a cry flew out of her. She shut the folder and threw it on the dashboard. “Oh God,” she gasped.

“Fuck,” Bones muttered, shaking his head.

She yanked the folder off the dash and opened it, reading again, not stopping until she got to the end and all of it was known.

Bones suddenly yanked the folder from her and got out of the truck with it. She flew out of the truck, racing to him before he read it.

  ****

Bones wanted to vomit as he opened the folder. He wasn’t running anymore. No more running. No hiding. He read through the report, holding his hand out to Winter who hurried to his side with her hand over her mouth.

Bones suddenly froze when his eyes picked up the words.

  Identical twins…

  kidney transplant.

  Surgery was a success.

His air left him and his back hit the truck as he fought to think and breathe.

“He’s alive,” Winter gasped, hugging his neck. “Your brother is real and he’s fucking alive!”

Bones phone suddenly vibrated in his pocket and he hurried to pull it out.

  You’re welcome Bones.
