• Autumn: the new temple at Uji is finished. Kaoru goes there and asks Ben to mediate between him and Ukifune.
• 13th of 9th month: Kaoru moves Ukifune to Uji.

Caught between Kaoru and Niou, Ukifune decides to drown herself in the Uji River.
