Sev gave her a stern look, but said, “Is Flame with you?”

“No,” Kal answered. “I have not seen him.”

“I am concerned. He has not been back to the room,” Sev stated. “I will search again, but then I am afraid we will have to visit the wax prison.”

“Do you mean the wax museum figures?” Carrie arched a brow as she looked at Kal. “You don’t think those are people trapped in wax, do you?”

Kal gave a sad nod. “It is an unfortunate state they are in.”

  “Are they aware?” Sev asked.

  “Do they suffer?” Kal added.

Carrie slowly shook her head. “No, there are not real people inside. They are just wax carvings of famous people.”

“So the children visiting their fathers who are incarcerated visit statues and not the men?” Sev sighed. “I do not understand these customs.”

“They’re not prisoners,” Carrie tried to explain.

“Come, we must locate Flame.” Sev urged him to leave with him. “It is not like him to remain away so long.”

“We’re normally inside the mines or the settlement. There is nowhere away for him to remain.” Kal wasn’t about to let Carrie out of his sight again. “You look if you must, but he can take care of himself.”

Carrie frowned, stopping Kal from leading her inside the room. “If you’re worried, you can go ask the front desk in the hotel lobby and ask that he be paged. Their security might be able to help you locate him. Or, if you are truly concerned, call the police. They will know if anything has been reported.”

  Sev nodded once. “Thank you.”

  “You’re welcome,” she said.

Sev pushed past them and made his way quickly down the hall.

“Do you need to go with him?” she asked. “He appears genuinely concerned.”

“I am positive that my cousin can take care of himself. He is probably enjoying himself and avoiding his brother.” Kal held his hand before her. “Please do not let Sev’s mood affect you adversely. He is a good man.”

“I’m sure he is,” Carrie said.

Kal took her hand in his and drew her into the room behind him. The suite was large enough for the three men to entertain guests. The living space had bright red couches and a flat screen television on the wall. Circular metal rings created a wall to divide the room. They poorly guarded the mini bar filled with tiny bottles of liquor. Each had only enough for one swallow. The three men had gone through the entire collection in only a few minutes.

“The performance gigs must be going well,” Carrie said.

“I don’t understand.” Kal didn’t know why she kept referencing a performance. She’d made mention of it several times on their walk to the suite. “Are you worried I will not satisfy you?”

“What?” Her cheeks colored by small degrees. “No, I…”

“I see. Performance.” Kal nodded in understanding. “The mating ritual.”

  “The…?”

Her words trailed off as he went to the remote and turned on the television, flipping it to a music channel. The sounds of a hard, primal beat filled the room, and he turned toward her. He’d watched the transmissions of Earth customs and knew what kind of performance she was expecting from him. His name was Spark after all. She probably had an expectation of what must be done.

“Do you have money?” Kal kicked his shoes off his feet.

“Money?” Her mouth opened, and she looked confused. Suddenly, she stiffened, and said, “Oh, my goodness. You’re a prostitute. I’m sorry. I didn’t realize you expected me to pay you for sex.”

“For sex?” He shook his head in denial as pulled the t-shirt over his head and threw it on the couch. “No, for the ritual.” He reached into his pocket and handed her a wad of cash. She took it, still looking as if she didn’t know what to do with it. He gently touched her shoulder indicating she should take a seat next to his discarded shirt.

When she looked up at him, her eyes affected him in a way he hadn’t felt before. All of sudden the human mating dance ritual made sense to him, and it felt natural that he’d want to entice her to accept the gift he had to offer. Each time she touched him, no matter how brief, her cooler hands felt like ice melting on his warmer body.

Kal began to rotate his hips in small circles in time with the music, dancing to the female voice coming from the television. He let the music about love and fighting flow through him, intent on doing the mating dance right so that she would join him on the bed. He swung his arms, moved his hips, and shook his ass like every future happiness depended on it.

  Chapter Six

Carrie watched Kal jerk his body erratically to Pat Benatar’s “Love Is a Battlefield” like it was the most seductive song he’d ever heard.

No, not seductive, she thought as he began punching the air aggressively before swinging his arms back and forth. Carrie wasn’t sure what to call his dance. Tribal? A mental breakdown? Comedy?

A black tribal tattoo covered one shoulder down to his forearm and extended along an entire side of his chest and stomach. It even curved around his small erect nipple as if to showcase the tiny bud. When he turned, she saw the black ink had also claimed half of his back. Three perfectly round bumps lined the inside of his right hip, appearing to be steel balls implanted in the skin for the sake of body modification. She wasn’t sure if it was intended, but they seemed to point her eyes down to the lifting erection between his hips.

The muscles of his chest rippled as he moved, drawing her eyes upward from the cut of his hip. He shook his shoulders as he bent toward her and wiggled his fingers like she was supposed to join him.

Carrie slowly lifted the cash-filled fist to cover her mouth with the back of her hand to keep from laughing. At the gesture, he lifted his hip toward her and began thrusting. Realizing what he wanted her to do, she took one of his bills and gingerly placed it in his pocket. This clearly pleased him because he moved his other hip in her direction and began to shake harder.

There was something endearingly sexy and silly about the entire situation. The desire she felt for him combined with the carefree feelings she experienced while in his presence. Carrie thrust several bills into his pocket. He then moved to shake his ass in front of her face. Unable to keep back her laughter, she shoved the entire leftover wad into his hind pocket and then gave his butt a small smack with the flat of her hand.

The song neared the end, and she stood. He kept dancing. She placed a hand in the center of his naked chest, detecting the hard beat of his heart.

“Do you like my mating?” he asked.

“I like it very much.” Carrie nodded. She drew her hand down to the waistband of his blue jeans. “But I believe these are supposed to come off, as well.” She pulled the button free and pushed her hand down the front to keep the zipper from injuring him as she pulled it down. The hard length of his cock touched the back of her fingers, growing larger as the denim loosened from around it.

Kal’s dance changed, his hips moving back and forth rather than side to side. The length of him rubbed along her hand, and she turned to cup him in her palm. He groaned, instantly pushing the pants off his hips and stepping out of them.

Kal stood naked before her. The song ended, flowing into a 1980s classic rock ballad. He ran his hands up her arms. “Should I give you money to dance now?”

Carrie shook her head in denial. Her voice low and husky, she said, “I think you should show me which bed is yours.”

Kal nodded in excitement, grabbed her wrist, and quickly pulled her with him as he strode to do as she bid. The fast trip through the suite afforded her a lovely, but brief, view of his tight backside.

Kal tugged her against his naked chest and began to kiss her as if he never intended to stop. Warm hands ventured down her sides to her hips. He tried to force her pants from her. Carrie unfastened the material so it would glide off. Kal drew her shirt over her head and threw it aside. His mouth left hers only long enough to let the material pass.

The cool air of the hotel room was a stark contrast to his growing heat. He touched everywhere he could reach, cupping her ass, tracing her spine, brushing her hair away from her neck and face. His fingers moved along her bra as if unfamiliar with the clasps. When he couldn’t figure the lacy contraption out, he gave up and hooked his thumbs into her matching panties instead. They too were soon pooled on the floor at her feet.

They did not need to speak beyond the shared moans and gasps of pleasure as she threw her arms around his neck lowering his lips down on her. This is what she wanted, and she was going to take it.

Kal took her lead, wanting to perform perfectly for her and make her happy. The cupping device that housed her chest was too complex to figure out, so he left it on her body. However, the meager pants acted as an ornament to further beautify her most sensitive parts, and he enjoyed the slow reveal of her legs as the flimsy material slid down. He hooked his thumbs on the lace band of her panties and eased them down over her perfect body until they dropped to the floor.

When he looked at her, he wanted to please her. He’d forgotten about his cock that stood proudly between his hips until she grasped it in her palm and ran her hand up over the head before venturing firmly back down the shaft. All the while dark eyes watched him, unwavering in how they locked with his gaze.

In the background, the music style had changed. It was heavier and more conducive to the way their bodies engaged with each other. Her bound chest teased him, heaving with each breath as if they begged him to free them from captivity. He could not resist. Without hesitation, he tore the harness to free her breasts. Gathering them, he dipped his mouth to kiss a soft mound. The nipple hardened between his lips and he shivered in pleasure.

His erection became so hard that it throbbed. He wanted to thrust inside her and discover if her insides were as soft as her skin. He forced himself to slow, to not be the overeager Killian who had not had sex in a very long time.

Her wrist bumped along the pleasure trail on his hips. The three sensitive bumps carried a natural secretion that his body needed to defy the hot Bravon weather, but they also caused tiny jolts of pleasure to ripple through him when massaged in a particular manner.

“Your skin is so hot,” she whispered as if awed by it. Her wrist bumped his hip again, and he jerked almost violently. “I can see how you got your nickname, Spark.”

Kal stepped away from her to force her hand to slip off his cock. He couldn’t meet release yet, not until he was sure she would find pleasure as well. Her scent called to him, so sweet and inviting. As he moved around her, his hand slipped from her breast and glided over her hip. He liked the back view of her naked flesh and stared at her ass as his fingers found their target between her thighs. He stood to the side of her, stroking a finger into her sex as he watched her hips from behind.

She gasped, and he shifted his attention to the hand buried between her legs. The soft, wet folds allowed him entrance, and he nearly groaned at how good it felt. He straightened his fingers inside her to test deeper. This caused her hips to push down against his hand. Heat radiated from him into her, making her sex hotter than before.

Soft strands of her hair tickled his cheek as he leaned closer. She smelled of an exotic human flower, one he’d never known and would now never forget. The tip of his erection grazed the side of her ass cheek.

Carrie rocked her hips, setting the pace of his fingers. Her lips turned, searching once more for his kiss. Lids fell heavy over her pleading eyes. The desperation in her look only made him stroke harder. Tiny sounds of pleasure left her throat, and she inhaled a deep breath as tremors washed over her.

Suddenly, she grabbed hold of his hand and pulled it out of her body. He could have stopped her if he wanted, but he allowed her to force him down on the bed. She climbed over his body, breathing hard as she glanced around the bedroom. Seeing the basket that had been there when he arrived, she grabbed it and dumped the contents on the bed. She took hold of a small package and tore it with her teeth before pulling out a round rubber device to encase his cock.

The cool glide of it on his skin made him groan, but soon her moist heat was warming it as she brought her body over him. Her legs spread as she lowered herself onto him. He wanted to turn her and thrust hard, but he knew he could not. Humans were delicate and must be treated as such.

As she moved her body up and down, he found he didn’t care that he had to treat her gently. He lifted his hands to her breasts, holding them as she moved. The pleasure was more than he’d ever imagined it could be. Her eyes met his, connecting them on an even deeper level.

Carrie’s movements became irregular, and she jerked on top of him. Her thigh bumped the sensitive nubs on his hips. He couldn’t hold back as he came. At that moment, he knew she is what he wanted. Forever. This woman was his, and she owned every piece of his Killian soul.

  Chapter Seven

“Mm, I could use a shower before I have to go back to play dress up with my cousin.” Carrie suppressed a yawn.

“I will join you in this shower. I enjoy taking them,” Kal said. “I will especially enjoy you in there with me.”

“Am I correct in assuming this is your first time to an American city?” Carrie slid her arm over his naked chest and cuddled deeper against his side as she sunk into the depths of the over-soft mattress.

“You’re not supposed to know that.” Kal glanced around as if worried someone might have heard her when they were alone in the suite.

“That must have been some contract they made you sign,” Carrie said. “If they don’t want you using your real names, and you’re not supposed to tell people you’re foreign when it is evident by your accents you’re not from here. I hope you had a lawyer go over the documents first.”

He shook his head in denial. “Everything was pretty standard.”

“Is it rude of me to ask…” She tried to think of a delicate way to say what she was wondering.

  “What?”

“I don’t mean anything by this, but are you an illegal alien?”

“You know about aliens?” He seemed nervous, which she took for confirmation of her suspicion.

“It’s ok. I won’t say anything.” She stroked his face. His metallic contacts appeared darker in the dim light. She found herself mesmerized by the special effect. “I like your contacts.”

“You know about first contacts?” He frowned, appearing confused. “But they assured us humans did not know about alien existence.” He then sighed. “Actually, this is a relief. I was worried about how I was going to ask you to come with me to my homeworld.”

Carrie started to laugh, but then stopped. He was serious. “What—where? Your homeworld?”

“Yes. My homeworld is called Bravon. It’s the second hottest planet in the Solarus Quadrant and the hottest inhabited planet. The surface temperatures are rather unforgiving, and you cannot walk outside without protection, but the underground settlement is regulated nicely. During the summer season, temperatures can spike to nearly seven thousand degrees, burning everything on the surface, so that is the only time we can’t go outside. But it’s only about an Earth month long, so it’s not too bad. I work in the ash mines and live in the underground Killian settlement of Frxsolis. That’s what my people are called, Killians, we are humanoid, as you very well know by how compatible we are naked.” He gave her a meaningful grin. “I have a very respectable position. I have many comforts.”

“Ash mines,” she whispered, trying to process the words coming from him.

“Yes, ash mines. The ash has curative properties for the skin. Ironic that the cure for severe burns is found on a planet that causes severe burns.”

“Oh, yeah,” she mumbled, slowly easing away from him. “Ironic.”

“Did you hear my cousin come back in the other room? It’s all right. You don’t have to get out of bed,” he said. “Sev won’t come in here.”

“Oh, well, no, it’s fine,” she mumbled, taking her panties off the e
nd of the bed. She hadn’t heard anyone in the next room, but let Kal think that was the reason she tried to get away from him. She threaded her legs through and stood to pull the panties on her hips. “I have to get back to the wedding party. I have to be there for my cousin.”

Sev burst into the room. “Kal, we must go. The authorities have detained Vin.”

Carrie gasped and covered herself with her hands. Blaze looked her up and down before turning once more to Kal on the bed. He did not appear bothered by the fact he’d just walked in on them.

“What do you mean detained?” Kal threw the covers off his naked body. “What did he do this time?”

Blaze again gave Carrie a once over, noting her hand shields. He leaned over and picked up her shirt off the floor and tossed it to her. “I will tell you in a moment.”

“It is all right. You may speak. I told her who we are,” Kal said. “I am bringing her home with me.”

Two delusional men, who thought they were aliens from outer space?

Carrie inched toward the bedroom door, trying not to make too much of a show about leaving. She’d thought there was something almost commune-like about Kal’s innocence. Taking into account the strange names, the even stranger contract they alluded to, and the speech patterns, she could only come to one conclusion. They were part of some aliens-are-real cult. Such groups weren’t exactly unheard of in the desert. Maybe this was some final test of cult loyalty to bring women back to their “homeworld” of “Bravon,” which was really some underground bunker in the middle of the hot desert where they did rituals with ash. Now one of them was arrested, and they were running from the authorities.

“Carrie, wait,” Kal said. “You may come with us. I don’t want to lose you again like last time.”

“It sounds like you have important family business to attend to,” Carrie pulled her shirt on and continued toward the exit. To get there, she needed to pass Blaze.
