Ewan sank down on it like a rabid dog.

With his one free hand, he could cup the ball sac as he slathered away at the cock. God, he loved sucking on Noel. The velvety firmness of the penis as it slid against his upper palate, the infantile need to suck at something, the heady scent of Noel’s hot crotch, and of course the ultimate payoff—the surge of hot semen down his throat. Ewan loved everything about it, and he wondered what he’d done to deserve such a treat.

“That’s it,” Noel commended him. “Suck me good, Ewan. Suck me good, you fucking gaucho. You know you love it, being on your knees sucking on a nice big dick. You’re the one who likes to worship at the phallus shrine. You love having your hungry mouth full of a nice long, fat dick, don’t you?”

As much as Noel spoke the truth, Ewan bristled at this. He disengaged with a loud sucking noise, panting heavily, and looked up at his lord and master. Pointedly staring Noel in the eye, Ewan wrapped his hand around the cock and gave it a nice hard slap.

Noel gasped and went still. “Wha—”

Ewan slapped again, and again. He didn’t often get the satisfaction of administering corporal punishment like that, and it filled him with power and joy to see the shock on Noel’s face. He knew Noel was feeling the slow spread of the tantalizing slaps—he could see it in the goose bumps that rose on Noel’s chest, tightening his nipples. Ewan growled. “Maybe you’re the one who likes being sucked by another man.” Smack.

Ewan couldn’t resist it long, though, and he dove back onto the cock. He hoovered so eagerly, Noel’s loud moan soon swung upward into a high whine. Ewan could feel the song reverberating through Noel’s cock as he came explosively, flooding Ewan’s mouth with seed.

Ewan drained the cock and jiggled his hand rapidly up and down at the base of it. His thumb underneath urged every delicious spurt straight from the balls, hot and peppery. Ewan swirled his tongue tip around the slit, titillating his lover, he knew, almost to the point of insanity. Noel was silent as he evidently swallowed his cries, and he jerked his hips against Ewan.

Even when emptied, Ewan stroked the underside of the cock to coax more semen from it. He loved being bathed in it, rubbing it into his face, tasting it on his lips. Finally Noel placed his palm against Ewan’s forehead and shoved him backward. Ewan didn’t mind that he was sprawled there, his own erection at full mast, pointing up toward the ceiling, the red scarf still binding it. Ewan had nothing to be ashamed of. He was proud of his built, carved body thanks to years of rough roping and riding. He just didn’t like the scars other men had given him before he’d wised up and sought fulfillment elsewhere.

“Why’d you do that?” he asked Noel point blank.

“Do what?” Noel was examining himself in the mirror. So unused to being slapped, he was probably looking for welts.

“Let me suck you. You never do that.”

Noel tossed his head casually. “Yeah, well, I’m afraid it’s our last time alone together for a while. What if we convince Autumn to stay here? She couldn’t sleep here downstairs. She’d have to use the spare upstairs bedroom because the downstairs one would be occupied by Orlando and Tom. I’m not letting her stay here without a bodyguard, not in the middle of nowhere.”

Ewan was occupied undoing the knot at his wrist, but this was the perfect opening for what he wanted to bring up. “Well, it might be our last time alone in more ways than one.”

“What do you mean? Is Orlando spending the night here?”

“No. I’m talking about Autumn, too. Listen, Noel. I saw the way you were with her today. You still have a lot of chemistry, sparks together.”

Noel started to protest where he thought Ewan was going, but Ewan stopped him. He looked Noel straight in the eye while sliding the scarf from his erection. “Listen. I’m not saying let’s break up so you can pursue your possibilities with Autumn. I don’t want that at all, and I’m not that generous. I’m not giving you up. I’m just saying…”

“What are you saying,” Noel said warningly.

“That it’s all right with me if we include Autumn in our scenes. I know you have scenes you’d like to play out with her and I realize I’m going to need to share you, to learn to be unselfish. It’ll be uncomfortable for me at first, but—”

“Wait. Let me get this straight. You want me to play with Autumn…in front of you? What would you be doing the entire time? You’re not going back to women, are you? Because if you say you’re attracted to Autumn too, I’m going to get extremely jealous.”

“Oh, so you do admit you’re still attracted to her?”

“Don’t say ‘still.’ Say ‘again.’ And you didn’t answer my question.”

“What would I be doing? I would be, let’s say, sucking your cock while you lick her. Things of that nature. You’d be the blessed one in the middle. She’ll be turned on watching us. What’s not to like, Noel?”

“What’s not to like?” Ewan could tell by Noel’s hearty tone that he was becoming intrigued with his idea. “Well, for one. You haven’t taken into account whether or not Autumn will want it! How do you know she wants to get involved with me again?”

“Well, why did she break up with you?”

  “I was a cheating loser.”

“Okay. You’re not a cheating loser anymore, right?”

“No. Except I’d be sucking on another man while in bed with her! Ewan, you haven’t thought this through well enough. Mainly, we don’t know whether or not Autumn would even entertain the notion.”

  “But you would.”

That shut Noel up. He glared self-righteously at Ewan, his jaw working. Ewan knew this look. It was one of the rare moments when Noel had nothing to say.

“Don’t worry.” Ewan soothed his lover by patting his bare shoulders. “It’s my idea to include Autumn. You can always blame everything on me when it goes wrong. But I like her. I think she’d make a great third. If nothing else, we can give her the thrill of her life by ass-fucking in front of her. She needs entertainment, Noel. She needs something to distract her from her miserable life.”

Noel’s face softened as he chuckled, but he still said, “And you’re not going back to women? You always said you’re not gay—just a man who currently likes to have sex with men. You never said it was out of the realm of possibility.”

It was Ewan’s turn to stand there mute. He had offered to keep his hands off Autumn. He had imagined that protected him from the damage women could do. He imagined the love affair would be between Noel and Autumn. He was okay with being Noel’s original lover, the one who had come first, like the first wife in a Mormon plural marriage.

He was saved by a scratching coming from the exterior wall that separated the living room from the front porch. “Damned raccoons,” he muttered. There was nothing for them to eat since Noel didn’t have a dog, but they always got onto the porch and clattered around with whatever they could find. He stepped into his jeans and was already heading for the front door as Noel called,

“This conversation isn’t over, Ewan. I can’t deal with watching you touch anyone else. I won’t fucking stand for it.”

Ewan glowed inside, knowing that Noel wanted to keep him to himself. That was fine with him. Ewan had no need to open himself up to another woman again. Some people might think they could play and fuck around with other people without becoming emotionally invested. Ewan didn’t kid himself about that. There was no point to having a sex pact with anyone if you were not going to invest yourself emotionally. Ewan was invested only in Noel and his happiness.

“Git!” Ewan waved his arms wildly at the glowing-eyed raccoon that hunched over someone’s discarded coat or parka. “God, are you eating that coat? You things will eat anything. Git! Git! Do I have to get my Glock and—”

Ewan choked on his unspoken words. It had to register one step at a time what exactly he was gazing at.

The raccoon had blood on its mouth. It was not another animal the raccoon was eating. It was a human body, but only parts of one. Variou
s items had been ripped out of the…man? It lay flung back into a corner, the head crushed at an impossible angle. Shirtless, it was obvious that various organs had been removed prior to it being dumped here.

And there was an envelope. Ewan barely dared to inch close enough to snatch it off the floor where the raccoon had gotten bloody paw prints on it. He recalled too late that forensics would want to get prints from the envelope, but they could easily rule out his prints. Not caring about the omnivorous animal anymore, Ewan crept back indoors.

Noel was gone, probably in the bathroom. Ewan stared at the envelope where big block letters demanded the missive go to ALEX COLDIRON.

Ewan whispered, “I would say bring a lawyer, but…” They already knew one, and she was responsible for the dead body on their porch.

He eased his phone from his pocket to call Alex, who was already on autodial.

  Chapter Eight

“I did have a large raised vegetable bed at my house in Golden.”

Autumn and Noel were discussing what she would miss about Golden. It was already a given that she was moving back to Hell’s Delight, mainly to keep an eye on her father. That was the ostensible reason, since she had been given power of attorney and named a medical proxy, and would need to approve any decisions regarding him. With her track record and contacts she could easily get a new job in the state capital Sacramento, only an hour’s drive away. She wasn’t worried. She could even go into private practice. Right now she needed to focus on her father…and The Freestyle Killer.

“I can’t picture you gardening,” said Noel. They both looked out Hannah’s kitchen window, taking a break in their moving of boxes. This would be her new view. It was tough to go from floor-to-ceiling windows that framed a view of downtown Golden—and part of her own personal ski slope in winter—to a view of the Grounds for Insanity coffee shop. Her parking spot behind the building was next to the Delight Hardware service entrance where pallets of paint cans, hoses and chain saws waited to be unloaded. It was a far cry from the glamor of her three-bedroom Golden chalet, but she wouldn’t be here long. She would buy a new house somewhere nearby. “You’re not the most down-to-earth type.”

“Hey,” protested Autumn, looking sideways at her ex-boyfriend. “I really liked doing the vegetables. I loved seeing the tomatoes grow every day, the eggplants, the radishes. I liked using them in my cooking.”

“But you lived alone,” Noel pointed out. “And you said you didn’t entertain.”

“Entertain” was his polite way of saying she never got laid. She never should’ve admitted that to him. This version of Noel Butler was far more intelligent than she remembered. This Noel was stirring more than her sapiosexual instincts. She had been in a heightened state of arousal since the two men had arrived at Rick’s to help her move crap to the Jack London apartment.

She had returned to the house to get another box but had caught the two men kissing. Instead, she retired behind the corner of the kitchen wall and just peeked out occasionally. She was shocked and pleased by how loving they were with one another. They didn’t just devour each other’s mouths in a lust-fueled passion, as she imagined all gay men did. They kissed thoughtfully, sloppily, as though each stroke of their tongues was heavy with meaning known only to them. Watching the men plaster their packed crotches together made her wet.

She figured she needed something to lighten her black mood lately, so she just went with it, watching the men making out. When Ewan bent at the knees and slurped up Noel’s Adam’s apple, she just about lost it, her legs turning to slush. Her clit quivered, as though it was Ewan’s tongue licking her down there, and not another man’s throat. It was the love with which they kissed each other that got to Autumn. They didn’t just plunder each other’s mouths with bald, aggressive macho posturing. They licked each other as though imparting a sort of…well, love.

“Hey, I got some once in a while, Noel. Maybe not as much as you two horndogs. But I wasn’t a complete workaholic hermit.”

“Oh yeah?” Noel said playfully. “What was the name of the last guy you had sex with?”

“Ah…uh…” Autumn’s mind went blank. She seriously couldn’t remember. There had been some boring guy…a fellow prosecutor who really hadn’t done anything for her, chemistry-wise…Then there was some guy from the Denver DA’s office…Bob, that was it… “Bob.”

Noel chuckled. “Bob sounds just great, Autumn.”

“Hey.” Autumn was genuinely wounded by his jibes. “Bob was voted most eligible bachelor of the Denver Bar Association.” Yeah. And he hadn’t even known how to use his rather ordinary-sized member. Ordinary members were all right, if a man had technique and talent. But Bob was so colorless she didn’t even recall his last name, although it had been plastered on magazine covers.

  “Oh, in that case.”

Autumn jabbed Noel in the ribs. “Hey. Just because you guys are always going at it hot and heavy. Not everyone has time or the inclination to rut like cattle every time there’s a spare second.”

“Oh, I don’t think Ewan and I go for it like cattle. I think we go for it like dogs.”

The idea of Noel bending Ewan over and invading him with the cock she remembered as plump and long made Autumn’s heart speed up. It had been torture for her, really, being near the two men. In the Jeep going back from Auburn she’d been smashed between them, Ewan’s muscular thigh rubbing against hers, so close she could feel their body heat. “It’s not fair,” she said, pouting. Then she was unsure if she’d really spoken aloud, so she gasped and turned to Noel.

He had that enlightened “light bulb” look, as though a new idea had suddenly come to him. This always filled Autumn with dread and excitement. Quietly, he said, “We should level the playing field. Make it more fair for you.” And he kissed her.

He kissed her! He parted his soft lips and latched onto hers, and she didn’t even protest! Noel is spoken for. He was doing the exact same thing he used to do to her, only Ewan was the cuckold now.

And Autumn was going for it.

She clung weakly to the front of his T-shirt, breathing in that essence that made Noel quintessentially Noel. She remembered how their bodies had fit perfectly together, how naturally her right heel came up off the floor so she could wrap her leg around his sturdy thigh. How she loved drawing his lower lip between her teeth and slowly, as though drugged, nibbling on it. How she loved knowing he was aroused when her pubic bone could feel his rock-solid erection twitching there.

Noel deepened the kiss, parting his lips to allow his tongue to explore her mouth. Autumn responded, though she knew she shouldn’t, by tangling her tongue in his and spearing her fingers through that spiky hair. When they’d been together as twentysomethings, he’d had the flowing, wavy locks of the poet, and he liked to swish it around onstage.

Autumn was sighing into his mouth when they came apart. She looked into his blue-shaded eyes with surprise. “Noel,” she breathed, “you’re just doing the exact same thing I left you for. Just because Ewan is a man doesn’t mean this isn’t cheat—”

“No I’m not.” Noel shook his head with confidence. “I’m not cheating, because it was Ewan’s idea. He wants to include you, to make a ménage. I agreed. The only part we’re unsure of is whether you’ll agree.”

“A ménage? Noel, are you sure Ewan said that? Look, there he is, in front of that coffee shop talking to that guy. He probably saw us just now.”

“What? Would I mistake his words? I’d be a gammy tool if I mistook his intentions, Autumn. Oh, he really meant to say ‘corsage.’ I should give you a corsage. Or a massage, maybe that was it. Or cleavage—”

“Noel.” Autumn shook him by the shirtfront a little, but her lower lip was stuck out petulantly, and her tone was affectionate. “What did Ewan say, exactly?”

“Well, his exact words were that he wouldn’t stand in our way if I decided to go for you. That he doesn’t feel animosity or envy toward you because there’s no comparison. It’s like apples and or
anges.”

“So he’s giving you up?” Autumn hadn’t quite said she would go for this scheme. How did she know Ewan had said this? This could be a line Noel had been giving groupies way back when. “Don’t worry, I have an open relationship.” Autumn knew men used that line, because she’d heard it from many. It had never once turned out to be true.

“No, no, no.” His reaction was emphatic. “Not at all. He’d never do that. He just thinks we could all fulfill some frustrations by entering into an agreement with each other.”

  “Such as?”

“Well, he said I could touch you, but he won’t. That way I won’t go apeshit with jealousy.” Noel backed her up against the stove as he talked. The kitchenette and living area were really one in this sunny Victorian apartment, but from here no one in front of the coffee shop could see them.

“So you and I can just merrily do whatever we damn well please whenever he’s not around? That doesn’t seem very fair.” The truth of the matter was, Autumn had been noticing she was just as attracted to Ewan as she was to Noel. “Why can’t we include him?”

Noel picked her up by the hips and set her down on the stovetop. He was quite a bit stronger than she recalled. He made up for his lack of stature by being buff as hell. “We can. In fact, what we’re doing now is probably forbidden. We didn’t get that far into detail. I just want to tell you…” He stroked her face with the back of his hand, and his look was loving, a look Autumn had seen only reserved for Ewan. “You were always so vibrant, full of life, and so fucking gorgeous. That hasn’t changed. You’re more beautiful now.”

Noel kissed her again, only this time her thighs were spread and he stepped between them. She was glad she wore jeans to keep modesty between them, but was it modest of her to lift one of her heeled slippers and place it around the back of his butt as they kissed? Already his greedy hands were clasped around her ribcage, his knuckles just barely brushing the globes of her tits, and she was glad she’d worn the lacey push-up bra. No, she’d done that on purpose to tantalize Noel anyway, even if he wasn’t going to kiss her. She knew he had to have some hetero feelings somewhere. He was probably basically bisexual.
