I place my index finger over her plump lips to stop her.
“If you think for one minute that I would ever leave you or my baby to do this by yourselves then you don’t know me at all Liv. There is nothing in this world that means more to me than you; and now we have someone else to love and care for. You and this little one….,” I say as I point to her stomach, “….are my life.”
I bend my head and place a soft kiss to her stomach over the fabric of her dress.
“My girls.” I say.
Liv giggles. “Gray it may be a boy.”
I shake my head. “No. This is a girl. She’s going to be as stunning as her mommy and as street-smart as her daddy.”
Liv runs her hands over my chest, her eyes following their path.
“I love you Grayson Adams.”
“Baby, I love you more.”
I wasn’t expecting that
If I thought it wasn’t possible to love Grayson Adams more than I already did, then I was very wrong.
This man is my everything.
Deep down I knew he would take the news of this pregnancy well, but never for a second did I think he would be so excited about it. I don’t know how I got so lucky.
Grayson rubs circles over my stomach. “So do you know how far along you are?” he asks.
I shake my head. “I didn’t want to go to the doctor without you so I’ve made an appointment with my obstetrician for the week after the tour, when you’re home. That way we can find out the due date together and hopefully see the baby on screen.”
“Do you have any ideas on when this may have happened?” He asks as he wiggles his eyebrows up and down playfully.
I laugh. “No I don’t know for sure, but I have a feeling.”
Grayson gives me one of those smiles, his dimple caving in. “I do too.”
“You first.” I respond.
“I think it may have happened the night before the tour when we made love on the beach at sunset. It just felt special that night… different.” Gray says.
I curl my arms around his neck and place a kiss under his ear. “I agree. That’s my thought too. The connection we had that night was more special than ever.”
Grayson runs his hands down my arms. “Liv, this is the most special gift I could ever have asked for. I want you to know how happy I am about this. There is not one ounce of doubt in my mind about doing this with you. You know that right?”
I nod. “Yep. I feel exactly the same way.”
“What are you going to do about the movie?”
“Well we should have wrapped well before I start to show any signs of a baby bump. Really, we couldn’t have timed it any better if we’d been trying. My character is pregnant in this movie, so even if I do start to show, I’m sure wardrobe will be able to work around it. I have no intention of telling them yet though. I want to wait until we’ve had that first appointment and we know that everything is progressing well.”
“Agreed,” Gray says. “Although I don’t think that I’ll be able to hold out on telling my folks or Ethan too much longer.”
“Me too. I think we can tell family and close friends and leave the rest until we have everything settled.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
Grayson moves in and places his soft lips over mine, working them over my mouth until I open for him and he slips his tongue in to tangle with mine. He stops and pulls back, rising from the seat and moving us to the bed.
“We still have plenty of time before I need to be at the sound check and right now I want to make love to my Baby Momma, is that okay?”
I smile. “That’s more than okay Baby Daddy.”
“Oh I like the sound of that,” he says. “I like the sound of that a whole helluva lot.” He leans down and places his mouth over mine again and the kiss is so intense that I feel it in my toes.
He lies me down with such a look of devotion, that a shiver runs through my body, igniting my nerve endings and kick-starting my pulse.
“I’m going to rock your world baby,” he says as he removes his jeans and shirt.
“You already do,” I respond as I sit up and pull my dress over my head, leaving me in the silk of my bra and panties.
Gray’s eyes ignite, the green pupils dilating and turning dark. I love having this affect over him.
He moves towards me, hovering above me and waiting for me to lie back so he can cover me with his warm, hard body. I shake my head.
“It’s your turn,” I say, “I want some time to play with you for a change.”
He smiles a dazzling smile, all white teeth and dimples and lies down on the bed beside me.
“I’m all yours.”
Excitement bubbles through my system, and that mixed with the lust coursing through my veins is a heady combination.
I give him a smile before lowering my lips and kissing his mouth softly. I kiss the plump bottom lip, the corner on the right and the corner on the left. He lies still, his fast breaths the only indication that I am getting him where I need him to be.
I move lower.
Running my lips and tongue over his hard pecs, and then circling each of his gorgeous dark nipples with the tip of my tongue.
“Liv…” he breathes as his hard length digs in against my thigh.
I move lower again.
I run the tip of my tongue over every single one of his defined abs. There are so many of them rippling at me, that it takes me a long time before I move further down to the gorgeous trail that leads right where I want to be.
I close my hand over him and stroke.
Slowly.
Driving him insane.
I bite down on my lip in concentration and anticipation of what I am about to do.
“Baby, you’re killin’ me,” he says as I drop my head and take him in.
The dark strands of my hair are spilling across his thighs and he squirms beneath me, trying to keep control.
I suck hard, taking as much of him in as I can while I continue to stroke him with my hand. He is panting, tangling his fingers in my hair and his hips are moving along with me, driving him as deep as he can go.
“Liv…I…can’t…” he moans.
I don’t let him go. I know he wants me to, but I want to do this for him, I want to taste him, give him everything that he gives me.
“Babe…I’m…gonna…”
He explodes. Giving me everything he has. I take it all.
I rise from his lap and lick my lips.
He gives me a heart-melting smile and opens his arms to me, taking my hands and pulling me over him.
I straddle his hips and he enters me in one fast stroke.
It’s deep.
I’m full.
It’s heaven.
We both stop for a moment to appreciate each other. He sits up, putting us chest-to-chest, and he wraps his arms around me, kissing me softly and tilting his hips ever so slightly to change the angle of penetration. Somehow it pushes him deeper. The feeling is exquisite.
“You’re amazing,” he says.
I smile at him.
“You need to move Liv.”
I give him a hard kiss on the mouth before I kneel over his lap, allowing me the angle to move, up and down, up and down. Gray places his hands on my hips, his fingers biting into my flesh, as he directs me the way he likes it.
We establish a rhythm that is punishing and fast, and we’re both lost to the intensity of the connection.
For the next hour, we don’t talk about babies, movies or tours, we just spend time being Olivia and Grayson, reconnecting and loving one another.
In the best possible way.
I pull my head back and place my chin on Gray’s chest, staring into the deep green pools of his eyes. We’ve been lying in one another’s arms for the past half hour, just talking. I can’t quite believe that I’m snuggled here with him, making plans about our baby.
Life has just fallen into place and it’s all because of the gorgeous man that surrounds m
e. He looks down at me and places a stray piece of hair behind my ear before grabbing my hand and brushing his lips across my knuckles.
“There is something else we should discuss,” he says, as he darts his tongue out and wipes it lightly across the back of my hand.
“What’s that?” I ask, pulling my hand back from his tickle.
“This,” he says as he places a light kiss to my ring finger. I look up at him quizzically, trying to decipher what he is talking about.
“I don’t understand.”
“I don’t have any intention of bringing this baby into the world before I’m married to her mother.”
I feel my breath stutter in my chest and the blood starts to pump through my veins hard and fast as the speed of my heart accelerates. Gray has spoken about marrying me before, but we’ve never discussed it in detail.
“Gray, I don’t want you to marry me just because we’re going to have a baby.”
“Sssshh,” he says, “you’re going to ruin this for me.”
I laugh as he climbs out of bed and heads across to his luggage.
He is gloriously naked and his smooth olive skin stretches across the slabs of muscle in his back.
What a view!
He moves back and turns to face me.
“I’ve been carrying this around for a while.”
He stands at the end of the bed, naked and beautiful, holding a black velvet box in his hand. He pulls open the lid to reveal the most stunning antique white-gold ring that I’ve ever seen. It is so divine that it pulls my attention from his gorgeous body.
The breath audibly leaves my lungs, as my hand flies over my mouth, stifling the sob that is threatening to rise.
The main diamond is huge, and sits atop delicate claws. Smaller diamonds rim the band. I don’t think that I could have chosen a ring this stunning myself if I’d tried. It’s spectacular.
I move to the end of the bed, kneeling on the mattress, as Gray wraps his arms around me tightly and uses his thumb and forefinger to tilt my face up so he can look into my eyes. He kisses me softly on the lips and pulls back to remove the stunning ring from the bed of velvet that it sits in.
“This ring belonged to my grandmother. My mother’s mom. She and I were very close when I was little. She would come to visit and teach me how to play piano. I think my love of music came from her. She was an amazing pianist. I remember watching her long fingers twinkle across the ivory keys and this ring would sparkle in the light from the window as she played. I loved her. Those times with her make up some of the best memories of my childhood.”
A stray tear runs down my cheek and off my chin; catching on Gray’s thumb that is still in place.
I smile up at him and he continues.
“She died eight years ago from breast cancer and she left her ring for me to give to the person that holds my heart. That of course, is you.”
He taps his finger lightly to the end of my nose before raising my left hand and kissing my ring finger again. “I want you to wear this ring Liv, not because we’re going to have a baby together, but because I want to share my life with you, good times and bad. I want to be the one to hold you while you sleep, and to wake up with you each day. I want to be the one you share your highs and lows with. I want to be the one you turn to when you’re upset, and the one you laugh with whenever possible. Most of all I want to share in the miracle of this little baby that you’re carrying. Our baby.”
Gray kisses me on both cheeks, and swipes away the tears that are now freely falling down my face.
“I want to thank you for being mine, for loving me and for giving me the precious gift of a child. I love you more than words can ever express, now and always. Will you do me the great honour of marrying me Olivia Jane Lucas?”
I nod through my tears and kiss him hard on the mouth, tangling my fingers in his gorgeous mane of hair. I pull back and manage to get out a breathless “yes” before he is covering my mouth with his again.
When we come up for air, he pulls back and slides the ring of diamonds onto my finger, placing one final kiss on my knuckle after he slides it in place.
“I love you Gray.”
“I love you more,” he responds in his usual fashion.
“Now we have one more thing to talk about,” he says.
“There’s more?” I ask as I look into the gorgeous face of the man I love.
He nods. “Uh Huh. I don’t want to wait to get married Liv. I want our baby to grow in your stomach knowing that I’m yours and you’re mine - forever. I want us to be a family now. I want to get married as soon as possible. In fact, we are in Vegas….” he says trailing off, his green eyes twinkling.
I laugh. “Great Gray, a shotgun wedding, my folks would be so proud.” I cup his face in my hands and run my thumbs over the light stubble on his chin. “Why the hurry?” I ask.
“I want you to be mine.”
“I already am. I have been for a while in fact.”
“C’mon Liv. Let’s do this. Let’s get married. I’m not talking some trashy Elvis chapel, we’ll do it nice. Ava, Sienna and Ethan are already here, so are my boys.”
“What about our parents?” I ask. I can’t believe I’m even considering this.
“We can have a party when we get back to LA. Invite your folks out; get mine over from San Francisco and invite our friends back home. This will just be for us, a small gathering, just for us.” He runs the pad of his thumb lightly over my stomach. “The three of us,” he says before leaning down to kiss me.
I wind my fingers through his spiky hair and relish the taste of his smooth tongue as it dances with mine.
“Okay.” I whisper against his lips.
He pulls back with wide eyes, “Okay?” he asks.
I nod. “Let’s do it, let’s get married tomorrow.”
“I fuckin’ love you so much Liv.”
I giggle as Gray crashes his mouth to mine and throws the ring box to the floor as he lowers us both beneath the sheets.
His hands and mouth are everywhere, consuming me like he can’t get enough and doesn’t have enough time to decide where he wants to go next.
In record time he is hovering over me, entering me slowly as he drops kisses all over my face, my collar bone and across my eyelids. “You make me so happy Liv and I promise you that I will spend the rest of my days doing the same for you.”
I sigh in pleasure and peace as I stare into his eyes.
Wondering how I got so lucky.
“I can’t believe that you just got engaged and now you’re getting married tomorrow Liv. I’m so excited.” Ava squeals, as we peruse the racks of dresses on display in the boutique. “What did Mum and Dad say when you and Gray called them?”
Grayson and I called my folks and his soon after we made love this afternoon before his sound check.
Of course they were all over the moon, especially with the news of the baby, but they were all disappointed that they were going to miss our ceremony tomorrow.
We’ve promised them all that we will hold a big party on our return to LA so they can all share in this wonderful event with us, and that seemed to go some way to appeasing them all.
Gray and I have decided to have a really small, intimate civil ceremony right here in our Suite at the Venetian Hotel. The room is gorgeous, and we want it private, nothing flashy, nothing wedding-like.
We decided that the proper wedding would take place back home. That’s when I will wear the big gown, and we’ll have the photographer, guests and all the other things that come with a wedding. This little ceremony is just for us.
The three of us.
Me, Gray and the baby.
I can’t actually believe that I’m getting married so quickly, but it is what we both want, so no sense in waiting.
All in all this is probably a great way for Gray and me to do this. The press will have no idea that we’re even planning a wedding, and as long as we stay confined to our room, then no-one should have any chance to snap pic
tures. This will guarantee our privacy and ensure it stays intimate.
Ava and I have arranged a light dinner for all of us to follow in their Suite. Ava will act as my witness, and Ethan will be Gray’s. No bridesmaids or groomsmen for this one.
Sienna, Rafe, Coop, Will and Matt will also join us, and in a very forgiving gesture on my part, I have allowed Gray to invite Ruby.
Even though the mention of the wedding sent her over the edge.
She’s concerned about how to play this with the press. All her ideas of promoting Gray as a single and very available rock star are about to go down the drain.
I couldn’t care less and neither could Gray.
We can’t wait for the story to get out, and for the world to know that we’re married.
We just want to hold the other very special piece of news close to our hearts for the time being, until we are sure that everything is progressing well. The world can wait to know about baby Adams.
A burst of warmth spears my heart every time I think about the new life growing inside of me and how much this baby is already loved. Not only are Gray and I holding out for he or she to arrive, but both sets of parents are so excited.
Ava cried when I told her how wonderful Gray had taken the news of the baby, she was so happy for us.
I get back to Ava’s question. “They were okay Ava. Sad to miss the ceremony of course, but excited about the baby. They’re planning to come over next month so we can plan a party to celebrate the wedding then.”
“We’re lucky to have such cool parents you know Liv. Not everyone would be okay with their daughter running off to Vegas to get hitched.”
I laugh, “God Ava, you make it sound like I’m sixteen and eloping.”
“Sorry,” she says as she chuckles, “this is just not what I expected us to be doing while we’re here. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m so excited for you I feel like I may burst.”
My sister is adorable.
She always supports me, no matter what and I can’t ask for more than that. I give her a tight hug and then release her. “C’mon, let’s get back to finding me a dress.”
