Tammy's Men Page 4

by Fawn Lowery

  “Babe, are you okay?”

The sound of Lyle’s soft voice brought her head around. She blinked back tears and stared at the door. God love him. He sounds so concerned. “I’m fine.” Liar! “I’ll be out in a minute.”

She washed her face and applied a dab of makeup to her cheeks. Gathering her courage, she drew in a deep breath and unlocked the door. Both men were leaning against the doorjamb, waiting.

“I’m alright, really. I just nearly choked on coffee.” She didn’t dare look at either of them. She hurried toward the kitchen. “I think I’ll fix pancakes. Anybody want pancakes, besides me?”

“I’ll take a tall stack,” Lyle called.

  “Ditto, babe,” Wayne added.

  Chapter 11

Tammy checked the manifest and double-checked the work order for the helicopter. Every diagnostic test in the book had been run on the motor and rotor set up and still something was amiss. She checked the next page of test results, running the point of her pencil down the list. It was imperative that nothing be missed. She stifled a shiver. The thought of shipping a chopper over to Iraq and learning later that it had crashed because of engine failure, made her gut wrench.

Until Wayne and Lyle came to the base, she had managed to set herself apart from the service men flying the machines. If she didn’t know them, then maybe nothing that happened to them would be her fault. It sounded silly, or ridiculous, but she took too much responsibility for the mechanics and the garage. I’ve always been conscientious and that will never end.

She walked to the next helicopter being serviced and picked up the maintenance records being processed. The mechanics in the garage were experienced men, careful in their assessment of the choppers. Most had been career men, intent on twenty-year hitches before leaving the Army for civilian life. She nodded at two of the mechanics, returning her gaze to the papers on her clipboard. One more test and the helicopter would be finished with its maintenance and ready to be towed from the building.

The final machine to be brought in for maintenance moved through the wide opening of the garage. Tammy paused and watched as the craft was brought slowly into a service bay. It loomed foreboding and sinister as though it were some steel monster, its gray hulk inching along the concrete floor. She raised her eyes to the long blades. In some ways, they reminded her of long arms, reaching out to stroke the wind. A second set of blades topped the tail, giving added lift and stability to the craft. It could hold up to eight men and was used mainly for transporting the wounded to field hospitals.

She released a long breath. Thinking about the war and keeping track of the helicopters coming in for service, was wearing thin. The moment her discharge came through, she was gone. She glanced around, taking in the men moving about the choppers and the activity with the newest arrival. How long would it take to get the memories out of her mind? She shook her head and turned toward her desk. The papers for the service of the arriving chopper were still in her office. Walking toward the cubicle, she saw activity at the entrance of the garage. She stiffened, recognizing the base commander striding toward her.

  “Captain Albright.”

His voice was curt, his manner direct.

Tammy halted, came to attention and saluted. “Major.”

Major Monroe was tall and ramrod straight. He aimed a criticizing look at Tammy and jerked a thumb toward her office. “In your office, Captain.”

Tammy’s stomach quivered. It wasn’t often that the Major came to the garage. She hurried to follow him, his long legs stretching forth in measured strides. In the back of her mind she recalled hearing a story about an earlier visit from the Major. Apparently the service reports for one of the helicopters hadn’t been processed correctly before the craft was released from the base and there was no record of it having arrived in Iraq. I hope to hell I didn’t fuck up a report.

The commander laid a manila envelope on Tammy’s desk and clasped his hands behind his back. Tammy hurried to the desk chair, leveling her gaze on the envelope. Thoughts of sitting were out of the question even though her knees felt a little weak. She raised her gaze to the Major. “Sir, am I supposed to open the envelope?” That was dumb!

“I want to see everything you have on the helicopter mentioned in that report. I want all your records brought to my office before the day is out. Is that understood?”

  “Yes, sir.” Tammy saluted.

The commander turned on his heel and left the office. Tammy’s brows rose. What the hell? She dropped into the desk chair and slid the envelope across the desk. Her fingers shook as she released the clasp and spilled the sheath of papers on the wooden desktop.

A classified document ordering the confiscation of all records pertaining to a chopper met her gaze. Quickly she scanned the document, reading the identifying numbers for the craft and the dates of inspection at the garage. Hurrying to shuffle the papers and learn the reason for the confiscation of its records, her jaw dropped open when she saw the craft had failed on a mission and the reason was determined to be engine failure.

  “Son-of-a-bitch!”

“Whoa! What are you cussing about?”

Tammy jerked her head toward the voice. Wayne and Lyle stepped through the office door. The room seemed overflowing suddenly, bringing a smile to her face. If there was ever a time when she needed them near, it was now. She pushed the documents across the desk to them. “I’m in hot water.”

Wayne picked up the pages and handed Lyle several before he began assessing them.

Tammy slumped in her chair and tried to recall releasing the helicopter for duty. She tried so hard to keep accurate records and be certain that every possible detail checked out before she released any chopper. Her brows drew together. “How in hell did I let this happen?”

Lyle spoke softly to Wayne and then both men turned their eyes on Tammy.

Tammy looked from one man to the other, her brows rising. “What? What is it? You don’t know anything about the crash, do you? Didn’t the chopper go down while you both were in Kabul?”

“Honey, you’re overworked,” Lyle said, a smile inching across his face.

“You need to spend the next week in bed,” Wayne added.

“Stop teasing me, guys. There’s a problem here and I could end up being court marshaled.”

Wayne tossed the papers on the desk. “No, honey. You’re in the clear.”

“What?” Tammy asked, reaching for the papers he threw down.

“The chopper was serviced last year. You weren’t in charge here then. Weren’t you still in Iraq?” Lyle asked.

Tammy released a sigh. “I was so shook up by the Major’s visit, I didn’t even check the date of the service on the chopper. Hell no. I wasn’t here last year.” She combed one hand across the French twist positioned on the back of her head. “Thanks, guys. I owe you one.”

“I like the sound of that,” Lyle said, grinning.

“Pay up now, hon,” Wayne encouraged.

  Chapter 12

Tammy closed her eyes as Wayne slid the pens from her hair. When the soft tresses fell on her bare shoulders, she turned her head and met his warm lips. The kiss assailed her senses and the pair of hands skimming over her breasts made her release a long breath. It had been a long day and she needed the consoling the men could give her. She leaned against Wayne’s solid chest, let the steady thud thud thud of his heartbeat lull her nerves.

“Babe, you need a long hot bath,” Lyle whispered against her ear. He nibbled on her lobe, his teeth sliding playfully across her flesh.

Tammy raised one hand and caught his chin, pushing his mouth off her ear. “You give me goose bumps,” she whispered. A smile touched her lips. A hot bath would be soothing, but it would be impossible to achieve with both of them there. They had already carried her to the bed and undressed her. She stretched out, sliding her hands along their thighs. “I’m glad you’re both here.”

“There isn’t any other place we would rather be, babe,” Wayne said. He cov
ered her left breast with one hand and closed two fingers around her nipple.

Tammy closed her eyes, savoring the sensation of being fondled. Once the day was over, she had gladly agreed to the men coming home with her. As she lay still and rejoiced in their tending, she tried to understand her feelings for them. Neither had mentioned love, but then, she hadn’t either. Is it necessary to be in love with them—or they with me?

She was too old fashioned to think otherwise. There had to be love in a relationship or else it would fail. She thought of her past experiences. Though there hadn’t been many, there were a few. And each one had ended because she realized she wasn’t in love. The sex wasn’t this good. Her admittance made her grimace. Sex with Wayne and Lyle was everything she ever imagined good sex to be. They satisfied her every whim, brought her to climax without fail. What could be better? Nothing.

Wayne and Lyle. It was almost impossible to separate the two. They were so much alike in every way. Their mannerisms and gestures. If it weren’t for the fact that Wayne was black and Lyle was of German descent, she could easily picture them as twins. She opened her eyes and reached both hands out to clasp their hard cocks.

“We restocked the condom supply,” Lyle informed her, drawing in an audible breath as her fingers closed around his erection.

“That’s good,” she whispered. “Because the sex is very good and I don’t want anything to stand in the way of us sharing our pleasures.”

Wayne leaned down and covered her mouth with his, kissing her.

Lyle nuzzled her nape and when Wayne pulled his mouth away, Lyle inched his lips atop hers.

Tammy moaned and kissed Lyle. His lips were tender, gentle in a way that differed slightly from Wayne’s. Wayne was demanding when he kissed her, pressing his lips firmly against hers and forcing her to open her mouth to receive his tongue. The kisses were always arousing, giving her a sense of being possessed. Lyle appeared to ask her permission with his lips, tentative at first, then seeking compliance. When she gave herself over, he always deepened his kiss, as though knowing her thought about the matter and wanting to fulfill her inner most desire.

Fingers penetrated her crotch, poked into her warm wet sheath. She pulled one knee up, opening her body for fondling. She loved the stroking and manipulation, the touch of their fingers against her most sensitive parts. The finger at her crotch slid between her moist lips and sought out her clitoris. Sensations began that made her wiggle her buttocks against the bed. Within a few seconds she was having an orgasm and panting loudly. Biting her lip, she pinched her eyes shut and let the onslaught wrack her body.

“Babe, I love to watch you climax,” Wayne whispered, kissing her cheek. He moved, climbing on top of her body.

Tammy opened her eyes. One glance confirmed that he had rolled on a condom as she watched him lower his body to join with hers. She reached for him, closing her arms around his wide shoulders. He dipped his head and kissed her lips, pulled back and lowered his crotch to hers. He thrust inside her, making her gasp.

The orgasm Tammy was experiencing intensified with Wayne’s cock thrusting inside her. She tightened her arms around his shoulders and bucked her hips upward, meeting his lunges. A multitude of sensations spilled throughout her body, making her muscles knot and her breathing erratic. She closed her eyes and arched her back, opening herself up for Wayne’s forceful thrusts.

The climax consumed her body and senses, made her forget everything but the hot flesh pumping into her. She dug her nails into the rock hard muscles of Wayne’s shoulders, holding on to him. God! I love this man!

The thought solidified in her mind as Wayne reached his time and bellowed his release into the quiet bedroom. He paused, panted, then resumed thrusting at a slower speed, milking his cock.

Tammy stilled and rolled her head toward Lyle. He met her gaze, winked and smiled. She bit her lip when she saw he was fully gloved and waiting for Wayne to finish.

Wayne released a loud breath and sat back on his heels, pulling his cock out of Tammy’s body. “Damn! I love to make love to you, babe.”

His words lodged in Tammy mind. He mentioned love for the first time she could remember. An arched brow rose. Is that just a coincidence? Or has our relationship really reached that point?

  Chapter 13

Lyle took hold of Tammy hips and rolled her to her belly, then parted her thighs with one knee. He lowered his mouth and slid his tongue along her buttock, wetting the smooth flesh. “I love your ass. It’s shaped so perfectly.” He pushed her ass cheeks apart and licked her rear orifice.

Tammy laughed and sucked in a quick breath, the sensation of his tongue making her belly clench. “I’ve never had anal sex before, Lyle.”

“I’ll be gentle, babe. I promise.” He dipped his head and wet her again, poking the tip of his tongue against the opening. “I can hardly wait to be your first.”

Tammy braced her knees apart on the bed and waited, anticipating his entry. It would be a new experience for her and one she often wondered about. She wiggled her butt, Lyle’s tongue tickling.

Wayne slid one hand to her breasts, caressing the orbs. He nuzzled her neck and pulled her mouth against his for a kiss.

Tammy tasted the saltiness of his skin, the trace of perspiration remaining from his orgasm. She kissed him again, admitting she liked the growing familiarity between them. His hand slid between her breasts, lowered onto her abdomen and reached into her crotch.

“Oh Wayne, I’m still so sensitive,” she said, hunching her crotch against his fingers.

“I know, babe. But when Lyle enters you from behind, you’ll need the distraction I’ll give you with my fingers.”

“You’re telling me it’s going to hurt, aren’t you?”

“It won’t hurt, I promise,” Lyle said at her rear. He positioned the head of his cock at her hole and pressed forward.

Tammy felt the pressure at her rear, tightened her fingers in the sheet and held her breath. Wayne’s fingers began to stroke her clitoris and suddenly she was filled with an entirely new set of sensations. “Oh, God!”

Lyle pushed his cock in a ways, paused, caressed Tammy’s buttock. He pushed in further, drew in a long breath and pushed in deeper.

Tammy opened her mouth and panted, the sensation at her crotch coupled wonderfully with the new feeling at her rear orifice. The urge to push her buttocks back came over her. She arched her back, finding that when she pushed against Lyle, she also thrust her clitoris against Wayne’s moving fingers. “Oh, that’s...wonderful.”

Her orgasm began in her belly and spread along her limbs, consuming her mind and making her movements jerky and erratic. Her breasts bounced as she gyrated her buttocks and drove her clitoris against Wayne’s hand. She panted loudly as the orgasm came full bloom inside her and then realized that a different bout of sensations were coursing through her rear orifice.

“You’re enjoying it, aren’t you, babe?” Wayne whispered, kissing her face.

Tammy was on fire inside. Sweat bathed her body. Her mouth felt dry. Her lungs pained from the rapid breaths she dragged in. “Sex has never been...like this,” she rasped.

  Chapter 14

Tammy stood in the hallway looking through the glass in the door. Inside Wayne and Lyle were teaching class. The small room was packed with young men in Army fatigues sporting short-cropped haircuts. She could hear Wayne’s deep toned voice coming through the thickness of the door. She watched the pair, smiling at the way they interacted.

A chalkboard hung on the far wall of the room and both men took turns writing on it. Wayne would begin a sentence and almost assuredly Lyle would add to it. She smiled. The makeshift classroom was hardly conducive to learning since the noise of the base filtered easily through the walls, disrupting Wayne and Lyle’s teaching at times. The sounds of incoming trucks and men shouting orders above the roar was often followed by a vehicle pulling to the rear of the building and left running while the driver raced off to tend to another matter. At first, Lyle
had grumbled about the facility, complaining that the least the Army could do was to provide an adequate classroom for the men but Wayne had been quick to remind him that what they had endured in Iraq was far from adequate either.

Tammy checked her watch. The men usually dismissed the class for lunch about twelve o’clock. She clutched the official envelope to her breasts. She could hardly wait to tell them her good news. Looking through the glass in the door, she realized Lyle saw her. He nodded his head slightly, letting her know that he was aware of her presence.

Shortly after being noticed, Tammy stepped away from the door and leaned against the wall. The envelope she clutched contained her discharge papers. Excitement seemed to flow through every vein in her body. A smile appeared on her face the second she realized what was inside the package and she hadn’t stopped smiling since. The thought of finally being able to fly home, to see all her old friends again.

Oh shit! It dawned on her that she had been in the military for ten years, ever since graduating high school. All her old friends were probably scattered to the four corners of the world. She felt sad suddenly, the realization that everything would be different for her when she landed in San Diego.

The door opened and the men started coming out. From the back of the room, Wayne reminded the recruits that they were to be at the hangar in an hour. Tammy nodded and smiled at the soldiers as they strode past her. They looked so young and naive it nearly made her cringe. Soon they would be packing their gear and shipping out. She watched them as they walked down the hall toward the exit. A lot of them would lose their lives fighting a war that didn’t seem to end. She sighed.

  “Hi, babe.”

“Sweetheart, it’s good to see you.”

Tammy smiled at Wayne and Lyle. For a second she took in their tall forms, allowing her gaze to travel along their bodies before rising to their faces. Her pulse throbbed in her wrist. It never failed. Every time she looked at the men, she felt excited. Just the thought of having them both brought a smile spanning her lips.
