Enchantment (The Fae Sister Chronicles Book 1) Page 14

“Don’t ever change, my love.” He said as his cold breath hit my neck.

He finally put me down and we held on for one more long sweet wet kiss. My cheeks were red when we were done. “Olivia.” I could hear the annoyance in Lily’s voice as she yelled my name.

  “Coming.” I smiled embarrassed.

“I’ll call you in a bit.” He leaned in for one more kiss.

I could get used to this, I thought to myself.

“OK. Let me know how your mother is.” I said.

Henry shook his head and opened the door. I was about to turn to go back in, but he reached back and grabbed my hand for another kiss. I didn’t want him to leave. He kissed the top of my forehead and finally made his way out the door.

I dragged my feet back to the parlour as I savored my moments and his kiss on my lips. Then I dragged my butt into the room.

“Ever hear the term get a room?” Lily said. “Lover boy sure does kiss loudly.” She said flipping through a book on her lap.

“Oh Lily. Let them be. I remember your first love.” Ruby eyed her coolly and Lily gave her one of her famous death stares.

“Let’s get down to business.” I said picking up one of the books laid on the couch.

“We will give you more basics so you understand more about the issues we are dealing with, but some things will be off limits because you are human.” Ruby said wanting to make it clear to me.

“Who do you think was telling the vampires about our plans to get me to The Stacks?” I asked knowing they had been thinking about it ever since Henry told them there was a mole.

“There’s been an uprising brewing for a few months now. It’s likely from one of them.” Ruby said.

“Don’t worry, we will find out.” Lily said sternly. I must admit, it was nice being on this side of her wall.

We all sat and flipped through ancient books. It was peaceful and I felt at ease. I looked for any information of my mother as she was always on my mind. I wondered if she knew what I pledged and if she was ok. I wanted to ask Ruby if she knew anything else since I gave her the paper, but I also didn’t want to ruin this sisterly moment. I decided I would wait till we were alone. She would talk more freely without Lily being there.

The doorbell rang suddenly and a smile came to my lips. Henry must have forgotten something or wanted to steal another kiss. I got up quickly before they could.

“I’ll get it.” I said cheerfully. I didn’t bother waiting for a response and took off for the door. My stomach did flips flops as I reached for the door knob and pulled it open enthusiastically.

It wasn’t Henry. Instead it was the most attractive blonde I had ever seen. Her light blonde hair was long and curly and flowed as the wind caught it. Her violet green eyes glowed against her tanned skin. She was smiling ear to ear as she looked me over.

“You must be Olivia.” She said as she leaned in to hug me. I returned the hug wondering how she knew me.

“Yes. Do I know you?” I asked.

“Who is it?” I heard from behind me as Ruby and Lily walked out into the foyer.

“Amelia.” Lily said as they both stood there with their mouths open, shocked.

“I’m home sisters. And I brought mother with me.” Amelia said smiling.

My face turned red with emotion, and I could feel the energy building up in my hands. Instantly every lightbulb in the hallway burst at once.
