Monroe, Marla - Nina's Neighbor (Siren Publishing Classic) Page 14

The heat began to grow again as he rasped over her G-spot with each thrust. His groin hair rasped against her clit with each push. The burn turned to fire, and suddenly, she was at that cliff ready to jump off and fly.

She heard Jack groan and knew he was almost there. He reached between them and pinched her clit, sending her flying ahead of him. He thrust into her twice more and then held still as his cum filled her, sending her into another spasm of climax. His primal shout pleased her. He could lose control as much as she could. When she looked toward the door again, Freak was gone. A part of her was disappointed. Another part of her wondered why.

  * * * *

Jack rested on his elbows to try and not put a lot of weight on Nina. He could barely move he was so drained. She did that to him, drained him of his strength each time he got inside of her sweet pussy. His cock was already rallying for another round. It would have to wait, though. He looked over at the bedside clock and groaned. He’d barely have enough time to shower. It was eleven fifteen.

He rolled off of her after giving her a kiss. She groaned when he pulled out. He smiled and kissed her again.

“We’ve got to get dressed and outside and be ready to go eat or they will come in after us,” Jack warned.

  “I need another shower.”

“You can shower with me, but no sex,” he said hiding his smile.

“Don’t worry, I’m about done in,” she told him.

They rushed through their shower and dried off. They were dressed and outside by five till twelve. Freak walked out about the same time they did. He smiled over at Nina. Jack wondered what that was about. It didn’t sit well with him. He pulled her behind his back. The other man grinned wider.

“Everyone here?” Slick asked as he walked around the group. He stopped in front of Jack.

“You get any pussy last night? Looked like your bitch was three sheets to the wind. Or was that your plan in the first place? Get her drunk so you could fuck her.” Slick grinned.

  “Shut the fuck up, Slick.”

“That’s enough,” Reaper called out from where he stood by his bike. “Daylight’s wasting. I’ve got a meet-up in two hours. I’d like to have something to eat before then, or I’ll get in a pissed-off mood. Got it?”

There were rumbles around the crowd. Jack knew how it got when Reaper was in a bad mood. No one was immune to his anger. They all mounted up and followed Reaper. He alone would know where they were going. He didn’t share much when he was in a crappy mood. Jack didn’t like not knowing what to expect from him.

They piled into a diner about five minutes from the hotel. They seemed use to bikers and didn’t bat an eye when they converged on them. The waitresses quickly took orders, and they ate just as quickly once they were delivered. Jack had to force Nina to eat since she was a bit nauseous from the beer the night before. He couldn’t afford for her to get weak. They still might have to run before it was over with. He wasn’t going to trust either of their lives to the ATF—Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms division. Their first priority would be to get the goods on Reaper and the gang, not babysit Jack and Nina.

Outside, everyone waited for Reaper to settle up the bill and tell them what was next. He was holding everything closer to his chest than he ever had before.

“Jack, Slick, and Dewayne with me. Freak, you watch Nina.”

Nina looked quickly at Jack with fear in her eyes.

“It will be okay. I need to go to this, baby,” he whispered in her ear. “He can’t do anything. Remember that. He can talk to you, but he can’t touch you.”

“Okay. But hurry back. I don’t know how long I can hang on with all of this, Jack.”

“You can as long as it takes to get you out of here.” He held her by the upper arms and looked deep into her eyes. “Remember that.”

Nina nodded her head and crossed her arms as if hugging herself. He hated leaving her there with Freak, but rules said he couldn’t touch her. He had to depend on the rules, for now. Making the meet with Reaper was important.

Jack took her over to Freak and helped her on the back of the bike after securing her helmet. He leaned into Freak.

“You touch her and I’ll cut off your balls before I kill you, got it?”

The big man chuckled. “I won’t touch her, but not because you told me not to.” Then he took off, leaving Jack to hope and pray she would be okay until he got back.

“You ready to ride, Jack?” Reaper asked sitting on his bike.

“Yeah.” Jack climbed on his and followed them back deeper into Dallas.

Great, they would be in the heart of drug country it looked like. He knew the territory by reputation alone. Plus, all drug alleys were alike. You still had the same slums, crack houses, prostitutes, and gangs working it all on their turf. Reaper would have negotiated safe passage for them with the leader of the gang. Hell, for all Jack knew, the meet-up was with the gang leader.

They pulled over in front of a dilapidated house with several mean-looking African American dudes standing around outside. They nodded at Reaper, and the three of them got off their bikes. Reaper led the way to the front door and knocked four times. Someone came to the door and peeked out. Then the door opened enough to admit them and slammed behind them. The inside of the house looked entirely different from the outside of it. Inside there were intact walls with fresh paint and pictures hanging on them. The furniture was new-looking, and the floors looked freshly waxed. The man who’d answered the door led them through the living room and kitchen to the back room that probably used to be a dining room. Now it was headquarters for the gang’s business.

Jack wondered what that business was going to turn out to be.

An African American man of light skin walked in with several other men at his back. He gestured for Reaper to sit. Jack and Dewayne stood behind Reaper. Had he negotiated for three men, or was Reaper paranoid and didn’t want more than three knowing his business? Jack was surprised he still trusted him enough to be in on the meet. But then, Jack had been his right-hand man for over ten years. He’d let Jack go, thinking it would only be for a few months of R&R. But Jack had disappeared on him.

“Let’s get this started, gentlemen,” the man said. “We have a product that needs moving to New Mexico. I understand you’re willing to work with us. You’ve been highly recommended, or I wouldn’t deal with bikers.”

“We’ll get it where it’s supposed to be on time. That’s not a problem,” Reaper said.

“What is the problem?” the other man asked.

“I don’t negotiate with middle men, and your messenger is a middle man as far as I’m concerned.”

“That is why I honored your request for a meeting face to face. Now we know each other, there’s no room for screwing up. I won’t tolerate it, and I have a feeling you won’t either.”

“Damn straight, I won’t.” He nodded his head backward, “This is my man, Jack. He’ll be handling things on this end. He’ll work with whoever you pick.”

Reaper then nodded back toward Slick. “This is Slick. He’ll handle the New Mexico end of the project.”

“Then we have an agreement at the already discussed price?” the leader asked.

“Yes, we do. When do you want this to take place?” Reaper asked.

“It needs to be in New Mexico by the twelfth. Is that going to be a problem?”

“No we’ll have it there by then.”

The other man snapped his fingers, and one of his men dropped a backpack on the table in front of the leader. He unzipped the compartment for them to see the money stacked inside.

“Half now with half at delivery. They will have the other half waiting for you when you drop the product off.”

“Then our business here is finished,” Reaper said and got up to leave.

“You double-cross me, I’ll wipe The Devils off the face of the earth. You got that?”

“Same goes,” Reaper said with a smile.

They filed back out of the house an
d mounted their bikes. Reaper led the way again, and they ended up about a mile from the hotel at an empty lot. He didn’t get off the bike, just signaled for them to circle.

“Jack, you’re in charge of figuring out a way to move the merchandise and get it to New Mexico,” Reaper told them.

  “What’s the product?” Jack asked.

  “Guns and ammunition.”

“Crap, when did you get into that?” Jack asked.

“A year ago, we started small jobs. This is the first big one we’ve undertaken, and I want it done right. I know I can trust you to figure out a way to get them there. You don’t have a lot of time to figure it out either. It will take at least two, if not three, days to drive that far. You’ll meet up with Slick in Albuquerque.”

Slick laughed. “Think you can do it, Jack, or have you lost your nerve?”

“Shut the fuck up, Slick. I’ve got it covered.” Jack needed to think.

“Okay, let’s head back. It will be time for dinner, and I’m looking for a little pussy before we go out tonight,” Reaper said.

Jack ignored him and prayed he wasn’t hinting that he was ready for Nina. Nina wasn’t ready and wouldn’t have to deal with him if he could put it off. In the meantime, he needed to broach the subject with her again. He wasn’t looking forward to that at all.

  * * * *

Freak let Nina off at the hotel and ushered her inside. He took a seat on the bed and leaned back, watching her as she sat on the loveseat. She didn’t like him watching her like that.

“Do you have to stare at me?” she asked.

“Only thing worth looking at in this room.”

“Maybe there’s something on TV you could watch,” she said.

  “Not interested. Let’s talk instead.”

“I don’t want to talk to you.”

“Why not? I’m an easy guy to talk to. Just don’t piss me off,” he said with a grin.

“That’s why I don’t need to talk to you. I’ll probably just piss you off.”

“You’re beginning to do that already,” Freak told her.

Nina licked her suddenly dry lips and took a seat on the opposite side of the room.

“What did you want to talk about?” she finally asked.

“How’d you hook up with Jack?”

“He’s my neighbor. We met each other and liked each other.”

“How long have you known him?” he asked.

  “Almost three weeks now.”

The other man started laughing. “Only three weeks and you end up as a biker bitch for him. That must really suck for you.”

Nina didn’t say anything. Anything she was thinking would probably only piss him off, so she kept her mouth shut for a change.

“Did you know they call him Jack the Ripper?”

  She said nothing.

“Well, do you know why he used to share?”

When she still didn’t say anything, he jumped up from the bed and advanced on her. Nina backed up to the very edge of the little love seat and drew her legs up to her chest. He loomed over her, and she shrank as far back into the love seat as she could.

“He shared because he tended to get rough with his women and needed someone to balance him out. He was called Jack the Ripper because he’s so freaking big and wasn’t careful with how he used it. Has he been careful with you, little girl? Wonder how long that will last?”

Nina buried her face in her hands and tried to shut him out. That wasn’t the Jack she knew. He wasn’t rough with her and had been careful when he’d taken her the first time. He hadn’t even mentioned sharing her. You haven’t known him that long. Who knows what he would have done eventually? She swallowed and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. This was Freak talking after all. Still something about the way he’d responded to the other man watching got to her.

You can’t talk, Nina. You enjoyed it, too. Admit it. You liked Freak watching you.

“Cat got your tongue?” he asked sardonically.

“I don’t believe you. He’d never hurt someone like that.”

“I know a couple of girls who would tell you different. Want me to take you to them so they can tell you about the rips and tears?”

“No.” She didn’t want to know about his sexual life before they’d met.

That was a different Jack. He wasn’t like that anymore. He’d been so careful with her. Nina refused to believe he would hurt her. Freak, on the other hand—she believed he would in a heartbeat.

“Now if you were my bitch, I’d—”

“I’m not, though.” She hurried to point out.

“But if you were,” he said again in an exaggerated sentence.

“I’d make sure you knew who was taking care of you and that what I said was law. Jack lets you get away with too much. Isn’t like the Jack I’ve heard about. Makes me wonder if you mean more to him than his bike. Know what I mean?”

“I don’t, I can assure you. We only just met. He doesn’t really even care that much for me,” Nina told him.

“See, I think you’re wrong. I think he’s in love with you. That makes for a weak man. Don’t need a weak man in a leadership role. I don’t want to be tied to him if he’s weak. It makes me nervous. You won’t like me when I’m nervous,” Freak said.

“I don’t much like you at all anyway.” It popped out of her mouth before she could stop it. She cringed.

He started laughing. “You’re mighty brave, little girl.”

Nina swallowed and put her head down on her knees to try and ignore him now. He was making her sick at her stomach. She hadn’t had that much to eat over the last few days, but something was stirring up the butterflies in her stomach.

Thankfully, he stopped talking and leaned back on the bed with his hands behind his head and seemed to take a nap. Nina needed the bathroom. She got up and walked to the bathroom as quietly as she could.

“If you’re not out in five minutes, I’m coming in to get you. Don’t try and run away. I’ll catch you. I have Reaper’s permission to discipline you however I want if you do something wrong.”

“I’ll be right back,” she promised and hurried into the bathroom and hurried out again.

She was so nervous she felt like she needed to go again almost as soon as she got settled on the love seat again. It was just nerves, she kept telling herself. Just nerves.

Sometime later, Freak got up and went to his room then returned a few minutes later. He smiled at her and started flipping his knife over and over again, handle, tip, handle. Then he went handle to handle, skipping the blade. She thought she’d scream if he kept doing it, but a few minutes later, she heard the roar of bikes driving up to the hotel. She jumped up and was going to run outside to check to see if it was Jack, but Freak grabbed her by the arm.

“Nope, you don’t go anywhere. Let him come in when he is ready. He might have to talk to Reaper some more, and believe me, you don’t want to piss him off either.”

Nina shuddered and stepped back from the door and looked down at his hand on her arm. He smiled but didn’t immediately release her arm. When he did, she felt it there for a long time.

“Have a seat, Nina. He’ll be in soon enough.”

He walked over to where the drapes were pulled and peeked around them.

“He’s heading this way now.” The big man didn’t leave yet.

There was a click, and then the doorknob turned and Jack walked in. He searched the room and settled on Nina.

  “You okay, baby?”

  She swallowed. “Yeah, I’m fine.”

Jack suddenly was on Freak with a knife to his throat. Freak had a knife at Jack’s.

“There are finger bruises on her arm. What in the hell did you do to her?” he demanded.

“Jack, it’s okay. He didn’t do anything. I was coming out to meet you, and he just stopped me from doing it. Said I’d make Reaper mad if I did.”

“You know how he is about the bitches running out of the rooms,” Freak said without
a flicker of worry in his voice.

  “You marked her, Freak,”

“Yeah, sorry. I didn’t think about how easily she would mark up with all that fair skin.”

Nina wrapped her arms around Jack and pulled on him. “Don’t do it, Jack. Please. I don’t want to be left here alone if something happens to you”

She knew the minute he backed off. He put an arm around her and drew her into his arms to hug her. She buried her face in his chest. He smelled of leather and sweat and Jack.

“So what are we moving this time and where are we going?” Freak asked.

“Guns and ammo. We’re going to New Mexico.”

  Chapter Fifteen

“So what are you planning to do to get that shit to New Mexico?” Freak asked when Jack got finished telling him about the meet.

“I’m working on it,” Jack told him.

Then he turned to Nina and crooked his finger for her to come over where he was sitting on the bed across from Freak. She walked over, and he pulled her down in his lap. She wrapped her arms around him. He kissed her long and deep. He loved the taste of her.

“Why don’t you go get your shower before we leave for dinner and the bar?”

“Are you going to join me?” she asked.

“I’ll join you in a minute,” he said with a smile.

Nina looked between them and drew in a deep breath. She nodded and climbed off Jack’s lap and grabbed her clothes to change into when she finished her shower. He had no intention of joining her. He needed to ask Freak that all-important question. He’d already asked several of the others give him strange looks when he asked. He was getting worried that they had lied to him and set him up to provide all the evidence they needed.

“Freak, you got a daughter named Sarah?” he asked.

The other man looked at him then smiled and nodded his head.

“Yeah, her mom was the best fuck I ever had.”

“Shit, man,” Jack said, sticking out his hand to shake Freak’s.

“How did you end up with her as a partner? Who are you with?” Freak was asking.
