The Billionaire's Longshot: Betting on You Series: Book Three Page 20

by Winters, Jeannette

“You might regret those words one day.” Smiling with tears of joy, she jumped into his arms and kissed him fiercely.

He took what she offered, gladly. God, how I’ve missed her.

Then she pulled away slightly. “We are forgetting Jon and Lizette’s dinner party.”

Ross laughed. “Tonight I don’t want to share you with anyone. When they see we are both MIA, they’ll figure it out.”

Pulling him down to her, she said, “Finally, we are in agreement.”

She tugged at his shirt slowly trying to unbutton it. Ross had lost patience with such things and pulled it off quickly causing the buttons to fly in several directions. Jill giggled. “Did I miss something?” Ross asked.

“No, I’ll tell you about it another time.” Jill answered.

Ross tossed the shirt on the couch and noticed her expression had changed. Everything was going good, what had he done to cause such a look? “Now what?”

Her hand reached out to touch his right side. It was taped up and there was bruising around it. “What happened? How did you get that?”

Ross had only been thinking of one thing, fixing things with Jill. He had totally forgotten about the pain on his right side. “Oh yeah, that. Remember I was supposed to meet you at the coffee shop?”

She nodded. “Can’t forget. You didn’t show up.”

“I have a good excuse this time. I was in a car accident on the way. Hence, why I’m late and don’t have the flowers that were in the picture either.”

“Ross why didn’t you tell me earlier? Was it bad? It looks bad by your side.” She touched it gently.

“Bruised two ribs and totaled the car.”

“Who cares about the car? I’m just glad you weren’t hurt worse.”

“I hope Drew is as understanding. It was his car.” Ross laughed and winced as he did so. Now that the stress of confronting her was over, the aches from the collision could be felt more. He reached to kiss her, but she stopped him.

“No, you need to rest and heal,” Jill said sincerely.

Ross kissed her deeply. “There is only one thing I need, Jill, and that is you and your love.” She hesitated at first, but he knew how to encourage her. He took her into his arms and kissed her deeply. He fought through the pain on his side as she melted against him. Breaking the connection for only a moment he added, “Jill, my love, I have one small favor to ask tonight.”

Breathless she answered, “I don’t think I could refuse you anything right now.” Jill kissed his chin. “Tell me, what is it you want me to do for you?” Jill reached down and caressed the growing bulge in his pants as she placed small kisses down his neck.

Hmm, you almost make me forget about my ribs. “Would you mind being on top?”

Jill met his gaze. “I’ll do that and more.”

Placing a light kiss on her lips, he took her hand and led her to the bedroom. Tonight he would fulfill his promise; tonight there would be no question that he loved her. Tonight I will taste her, tease her, and make her mine. Mine for always.
