Finding Strength: A Club Dark Novel

“Friends, we have joined here today, to share with Cory Lewis and Lacey Carter, an important moment in their lives. In their time together, they have seen their love and understanding of each other grow and blossom and now they have decided to live out the rest of their lives as one.
Alright now, who here gives this woman to this man in marriage? Now let’s not all go at once,” he chuckles.
“That’s me. I support them all the way.” Dad speaks up with tears rolling down his face.
He kisses my hand softly, then places it gently into Cory’s. “Son, you better take very good care of this woman. Don’t make me hunt you down.” He smiles again before stepping back to my side.
“Miss Carter, repeat after me,” the Reverend starts.
“I, Lacey Carter, take you, Cory Lewis to be my husband, my friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.”
“Now it’s your turn Mr. Lewis,”
“I, Cory Lewis, take you, Lacey Carter to be my wife, my friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward.
“Have we got the rings?” The reverend asks as Amber and Alex quietly hand them over.
“I, Lacey, give you, Cory, this ring as an eternal symbol of my love and commitment to you.”
“I, Cory, give you, Lacey, this ring as an eternal symbol of my love and commitment to you.”
“By the power vested in me by the State of Washington, I now pronounce you husband and wife; you may kiss your bride.”
Those damn nerves again. This isn’t the first kiss, Lacey, there’s no time for nerves. Show that man what he just got himself into.
A wicked smile comes over my face at that thought. Fuck the nerves. He’s my husband now, so I can do whatever I like. Like grabbing him by both lapels of his jacket and jerking his body hard into mine. Teeth, mouths, and tongues crashing into each other with hunger and purpose. A purpose that makes a statement... you are mine and I am yours.
We both pull apart when the need for air becomes too strong to refuse. Whistles, hoots, and hollers fill the air, causing my cheeks to burn.
“I now introduce, Mr. and Mrs. Cory Lewis.” Everyone stands and claps, making way for us to walk back down the aisle.
Confetti and bird seed appear out of nowhere, swatting me in my hair, promising it’s going to be a nightmare to get out, but I don’t care.
We head straight for the limo, already having our bags packed. Cory wouldn't let me pack. Saying he was taking care of everything. Kinsley is staying behind with her grandparents; she really enjoys the time she gets to spend with them and I really enjoy the alone time I get with Cory
“Are you ready, Mrs. Lewis?” My thighs give an uncontrollable squeeze at the way he drops his voice and teases, he’s too hot for his own damn good.
“I’m ready, Mr. Lewis.” I give him the same sultry tone and take pride when he begins to squirm in his seat.
“Let’s get going, Joe.” Cory calls out to the limo driver. We set off for our honeymoon destination that only God and Cory knows where. But for once, I’m relaxed and don’t care. My life, my family, my heart, are full and I could never ask for anything more. I have found my home; I have found my strength. This is where I belong.
If you enjoyed Cory and Lacey’s story, thank you. I hold these characters near and dear to my heart. While their story has come to an end, Alex and Amber’s have only just begun. Look out for Finding Love, coming this spring.
