“Ty, baby, are you ok?” She rushed over to my side. “Oh no!” She gasped as she looked at me.
The way she looked down at me with tears in her eyes had me afraid to look at myself in the mirror.
“I swear; the police better find these motherfuckers before I do!” She snapped. “Do you know who did this to you?” She asked.
“No, they blindfolded me. I couldn’t even make out their voice because it was disguised so I have no idea.” I replied.
“Girl, I don’t give a fuck what you say, I’m laying hands on Jerecho’s bitch ass, because he should have been there with you! That nigga not even here. Fuck that! He gon’ feel me.” She ranted causing Saire to chuckle.
“My bad for being rude. I’m Naria, and you are?”
“Saire.” He answered.
“Thank you for staying here with my best friend, Saire.”
“Nah, it’s cool. Y’all straight?” He asked.
“Yes. I got it from here.” Naria responded.
“Again, I’m sorry for your loss, Tyreema, and take care of yourself and listen to ya girl. She seems to know what she’s talking about.” He winked, standing up from his chair.
He grabbed his blazer and threw it over his shoulder giving me a full glimpse of his muscles. Saire looked sexy as fuck sitting down, but once he stood up and you got a full view of his tall, built frame, he was mouthwatering. He nodded our way one last time before he made his way out of the room leaving the scent of his tantalizing cologne behind.
“Damn, he fine as fuck!” Naria exclaimed, taking the words out of my mouth.
“Hmm, hmm.”
“Did you get his number at least?”
“No, girl; I’m not worried about that man like that.” I waved her off. “He’s just a good Samaritan that helped me.”
“I’m still stuck on why Jerecho wasn’t home to begin with. Why isn’t he here with you now?” She asked getting worked up again.
“His phone going to voicemail.”
“See, that’s why I can’t with his ass. I stay telling you about this nigga, man. He ain’t worth shit. I am praying for the day you realize that.” She vented.
“Naria, please, not now.”
“Giving the circumstances, I will bite my tongue, for now.”
“Hey, Tyreema. I see that you’re up.” A short Indian looking lady said as she walked in the room and washed her hands. “I’m Doctor Sabi. I saw you when you came in and spoke with your husband.” She said. causing Naria to look at me sideways.
“First off, I want to say that I am deeply sorry for your lost. I also want to keep you overnight just to keep an eye on your blood pressure. It was pretty high when you came in. Another thing, I have two cops that want to come in and chat with you. I told them to give you time to regroup and come in first thing in the morning.” The doctor said.
“Other than that, is everything ok with her?” Naria asked.
“Tyreema came in here pretty banged up. Luckily, she only suffered from a few bruised ribs, a sprained wrist, and some cuts and bruises to the face. A few days of bedrest at home, and you’ll be good as new.” She smiled. “Make sure you tell the officer everything you remember; it’s imperative we get these scums who did this to you off the street.”
“Thank you doctor.” I replied.
“Anytime. There is your call button; buzz the nurse if you need anything. I put in an order for some pain meds so you should be receiving those in about an hour or so. Try to get as much rest possible; we need that pressure to go down by tomorrow, or I’ll be forced to keep you another day.”
“Got it, Doc.” Naria replied for me.
“Great, see you in the morning.”
“Well, you heard what the doctor said. Get some rest.” Naria said, getting in the hospital bed with me.
“Now, you know you too thick to be getting in this bed.” I joked.
“Girl, bye. We gon’ fit today. Shit, I’m sleepy as fuck.” She replied, making herself comfortable.
Surprisingly, we both were able to fit in the hospital bed. We made small talk about everything under the sun until the only thing that could be heard through the room were Naria’s loud snores. Looking over at my best friend, I couldn’t imagine life without her. I truly appreciated her; especially, for being there for me at my weakest moment. She knew everything about the shit Jerecho put me through, and not once has she judged me or made me feel less of a woman for accepting it.

“Tyreema! Ty! Tyreema!” I woke up to Jerecho yelling my name out.
“The fuck wrong with this clueless ass nigga.” Naria sucked her teeth, as she stirred out of her sleep.
“Yo, Ma, what happened?” He asked standing over us.
“What happened was your dumb ass was nowhere around while your fiancé was getting jumped and robbed. Your ass wasn’t nowhere to be found while she laid up in this hospital miscarrying y’all baby. Sorry ass nigga!” Naria spat, jumping out of the bed and in Jerecho’s face.
“Come on, Naria. Just chill, bruh. The fuck she talking about Ty?” Jerecho looked over at me for confirmation.
“It’s true.” I replied.
“How the fuck? When I left the house, you was in bed sleep.”
“I left to go get me something to eat after calling you numerous of times and getting the voicemail.” I sucked my teeth.
“Fuck, man! Damn!” He yelled kicking the chair over. “Who did this shit, Ma?”
“I don’t know; I was blindfolded. I didn’t even hear their real voice.” I said.
“Damn, I’mma kill all them motherfuckers, I swear.”
“Dumb ass nigga, how the fuck you gon find them? Huh? You such a joke.” Naria chuckled.
“Naria, please chill out.” Jerecho warned.
“Or what? I ain’t scared of you nigga.” Naria said, lifting her shirt to reveal her small, concealed weapon. “I’m always strapped, playboy.”
“Get that lil’ toy gun out my face, man.” He laughed.
“Ain’t nothing playful about these slugs I’ll happily put in ya.” She smirked.
“Please y’all, just chill out.” I reasoned, trying to keep the peace.
“I’mma go grab us something to eat. I’ll come back through when this clown leaves.” Naria replied, excusing herself.
“Why you ain’t sit yo ass at home man?” Jerecho snapped, the moment Naria walked out of the room.
“I was starving, hungry. What the hell you expected me to do?” I asked.
“So you mean to tell me there wasn’t nothing in the house you could have eaten?”
“No there wasn’t!” I snapped. “Where the fuck was you when I needed you Jerecho?”
“I was out making moves. I got in contact with this busser, and he down for the same shit I’m down with.” He said, trying to speak in code.
A busser was basically someone who popped fake checks. I knew this was Jerecho’s choice of profession, but I was hoping he was looking into doing something more legit. Yeah, he made good money doing what he did, but he kept long hours and was forced to go out of town a lot. Plus, the risk he was taking was the type that would have his ass buried underneath the federal prison if he got caught.
“Man, I’m sorry this shit happened. After I hit this outta town lick, I’mma take a few days off to kick it at home with you and Tyreek.” He promised.
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep.” I sternly said.
“Nah baby, you got my word. We need to sit down and start making wedding plans.” He said, causing me to weakly smile.
“I thought you wanted to hold off on any planning.”
“Why wait? I’m making big moves; we can afford that big wedding you want so why not?”
“It just hurt so bad.” I sobbed feeling the pain of losing consumed me.
“It’s ok baby, it’s ok.” Jerecho tried to calm me down.
“You wasn’t there for me when I ne
eded you, when I was being attacked, when I got robbed, you wasn’t there.”
“I know and I’m going to always hate myself for that Ty but baby we going to get pass this together. We going to plan our wedding, get married, move in our big house and fill it up with babies.”
Instead of replying I just laid there and allowed the tears to silently fall down my eyes. I wanted to so badly be happy that Jerecho wanted me to plan our wedding so we could get married but I couldn’t. I was hurting, a hurt that I was so accustomed to that it began to numb me. I wanted to scream at Jerecho, punch him, curse him out but that would only push him away. I needed him, I needed to feel his love, even if it was only temporary and the next day he would be out running the streets I needed it.
Chapter 9
Jordynn
“You did that.” I smiled, as I sat with Lia at the food court in the mall.
“Thank you; now, where is my ticket?” She anxiously asked.
“Here.” I replied, handing her a ticket to Sage’s success party.
His party was the talk of the town. Everybody in the city paid the high price just to get a ticket to his party simply because his name held some weight in the streets. Majority of the niggas on the block were hustling day by day with no future in becoming a real kingpin, but Sage was a different story.
Even before he landed the connect he was working for now, he was on the block doing his thing. Sage was one of the youngest niggas strolling the block keeping up with the old heads that had been on the block for years. The fact that he was able to snag him a connect that was providing him grade A work had him in the position on the streets to have niggas coming to work for him.
“You think Sage will fuck with me?” Lia asked, causing me to chuckle.
Lia was pretty, but she wasn’t on Sage’s level. Especially since he was checking for Naria. When Naria came home with the tickets telling me and Tyreema about the way she met him, I decided to go with the flow and kept my mouth closed. I didn’t bother to tell Naria that Sage was only nineteen, nor did I bother to tell Lia how I was able to get her a ticket to the party. As far as I was concerned, none of it was my business, so I didn’t give a fuck.
“What’s so funny?” Lia asked.
“Nothing girl.” I lied. “Let me give you a makeover, and you’ll be on his level.” I offered.
“What exactly is his level?” She asked.
“Grown and sexy. Sage doesn’t like women around his age range; he likes them older than him, matured.” I replied.
“I see. Well, I got my brother’s credit card, so let’s shop.”
“How’s my baby daddy anyways? I haven’t heard from him since the incident.” I smirked.
“Girl, he is fucked up behind that girl losing his baby. He been home waiting on her ass like she a queen or some shit.” Lia snapped.
“Well, at least I know she ain’t giving him another baby.” I smiled.
“You’re wicked.” Lia chuckled.
“She was asking for it. I got sick and tired of her whack ass always thinking she was better than me with her flabby belly ass.” I spat.
“Shit. My homegirl still mad the bitch cut her.” Lia replied.
“She’ll be ok; she got paid, and that’s all that matters.” I sucked my teeth before sipping my Coke.
I was the one responsible for Tyreema’s little accident, and it felt good to knock that bitch off her high horse. From the day Jerecho proposed to her, she’s been acting as if the world revolved around her. Especially with this pregnancy, she was beginning to make me sick with all the attention she was getting.
That night, while hanging on the block with one of my homeboys, I spotted her going in the store. She was so busy trying to rush in and out that she didn’t even notice me there sizing her up. The wheels in my head started turning, and that’s when I decided to call Lia and her home girl to help me handle her. Since the dude I was chilling with was a jack boy, it was nothing to get him involved, as well as making my devious plan even better.
After we beat her ass unconscious, we all hopped in her car and sped off to make it look like a robbery gon’ bad. The young-minded jack boys decided to keep her car to go joy riding in, and I let them. I wanted no parts of her money or other personal belongings for that matter. My main purpose was to make sure that baby didn’t see the light of day and boy did I succeed.
“What are you wearing to the party?” Lia asked me.
“I’m not sure yet.” I replied.
Since Sage gave Naria four tickets, she automatically invited her. She didn’t know who to give the fourth ticket to so I told her I had a friend that was interested in going. Once Naria gave me the ticket, I used it as leverage over Lia. She had the most pathetic crush on Sage that it was crazy.
“You need to tell your homegirls to buy tickets.” I said.
“Why?” She asked.
“You know I have to go to the party with Naria and Ty’s bitch ass.” I rolled my eyes.
“Oh, well I’ll see if Chelsea wants to go.” She said, pulling out her phone.
“Iight.” I replied, drinking the last of my Coke. “Now, let’s go spend my baby daddy’s money.” I smiled ready to cop me a few threads on Jerecho’s expense.
Lately, when it came to him, I’ve been getting the short end of the stick. He always wanted to be up under Tyreema’s ass giving me more reason to dislike her ass. There were days when I just wanted to throw the fact that Tyreek and Jerry were brothers, and that I’m fucking her man at her, but I didn’t need my cousin coming for me. Despite how I may act, I still valued Naria’s opinion of me. Plus, problems with her was something I didn’t want.
* * *
“You finally made time for me, I see.” I smirked, as Jerecho finally made his ass to my hotel room.
“I had to make sure wifey straight, you know.” He replied, taking a seat on the bed.
“No, I don’t know.” I replied with an attitude.
“Kill all the noise man. I came to get my dick sucked. and if you ain’t sucking. then I can go.”
“That’s all I am to you? A bitch you can come fuck and that will suck on you when you in need?” I asked, looking at him sideways.
“You my baby mama, nothing more nothing less. I’m sick of having conversations with you bitches! Y’all knew what the fuck it was before I stuck my dick in y’all. Now, you done fucked up and caught feelings expecting me to leave my bitch to give y’all more. Fuck outta here with that shit man!” He spazzed.
“I would expect since I brought your child into this world I would at least get more respect.” I pouted.
“I can’t respect a bitch like you.”
“A bitch like me?”
“Yes! Any bitch that’s willing to lay down with a nigga who got a bitch he makes clear that he’s not going to stop fucking with is not a bitch worth respecting. Straight up. You thought a baby was supposed to make me change the way I feel about you? Nah. I got love for you because you gave me my son, but I don’t love you. Shit, half of the time, I don’t even like your ass, but you got something special with ya mouth that keep a nigga running back for real.” He said, breaking my heart.
“You full of shit!” I yelled on the verge of tears.
“Your mouth about to be full of cum the moment you shut the fuck up and come suck this dick.” He smirked.
Jerecho whipped his dick out and released ten inches of pressure. His dick was a pretty, golden color with a perfect brown mushroom tip. The way the pre-cum oozed from the tip by the way he kept stroking it had my ready to jump on that shit. Walking over to him, I got on my knees and took him deep down my throat.
True, Jerecho may have belonged to Tyreema, but he would always be mine. I knew I loved him that summer I laid eyes on him and decided to push up on him. I knew the consequences I would suffer the moment I read the positive sign on the pregnancy test and decided to keep my baby. I was madly in love with Jerecho, though. So in love that
I was ok with playing the sidelines until it was my time to get in the game. As far as I was concerned, Tyreema and I we’re girlfriend-in-laws, on our sister-wives shit. Hell, preschool did teach us at a young age that sharing was caring.
“Suck that shit girl.” Jerecho coached, as his head rolled to the back of his head.
Looking up at him with my lips still wrapped tightly around his dick, I admired my work. The faces he was making along with the grunts that escaped his lips told me I was doing the damn thing. One thing I knew I had on Tyreema was the fact that I could suck a dick better than her even if I wasn’t trying to. I had the type of mouth that’ll make a nigga sell his soul to the devil just to catch that toe curling nut.
Chapter 10
Saire
“Thank you for giving me a ride; I appreciate it.” Xandy smiled, as she got in the car.
Now that she was living in one of my apartments, cooking, and eating good, she was starting to gain more weight and look like herself again. Xandy was beautifully dressed in a gray pencil skirt with a powder blue dress shirt neatly tucked in. Her hair was neatly pulled back into a sleek bun showing off her now radiant skin. She was looking so healthy that if you would have told a stranger she used to be addicted to that deadly drug, they would have labeled you a liar.
“I hope I get this job so I can stop depending on you for everything.” She chuckled.
“Nah, it’s cool.” I replied, as I made my way to the car wash where she was interviewing for the front desk position.
“Thank you again for everything.” She said.
“No biggie.”
“When are you actually going to talk to me instead of your one-word responses?” She asked.
“Xandy, chill. You got an interview. Go ace it and get the job, Ma.” I replied as I pulled in front of the car wash.
“Yeah, whatever.” She sucked her teeth before getting out the car and slamming the door.
Her heels hit the pavement with force and she speed-walked towards the entrance. With each step she took, her ass took a step along with her. Physically, Xandy was bad but that wasn’t enough to make me want to fuck with her like that. She brought out the worst in me when she was geeking on that drug. She fucked me up so bad that I haven’t been able to take another woman seriously enough to get into a relationship with. Xandy is the cause of all of my truth issues when it comes to women; she is the reason I fear falling in love again. That is why I was all about getting money and fucking a few bitches from time to time when I felt the need.
