“Your brother’s name is Ziggy?!” Scott Fordham yelled out.
“Yeah. What about it?” I demanded.
“That’s such a cool name!” he replied.
I smiled as Ziggy clutched at my finger harder. “I know,” I said proudly.

Dear Dr. Maude,
I don’t have a lot of time to write because I have to get to school early for a meeting with my vice president Jose Cuello, followed by a meeting with the eighth-grade president Lindsay Sayles to figure out how our the two grades can get along better, followed by actual school, followed by bra shopping with Mom (ew), followed by homework, followed by a Skype session with Ziggy (basically, I talk and he sleeps in his swing—which, next to my arms, is pretty much the only place he’ll do that), followed by ... I can’t even remember. Oh right—Blair is going to come over and show me how to use iMovie so I can make my own weekly presidential updates. Even though he says he doesn’t mind doing them for me. Which, according to Laurel, is something that someone who has a crush back on you would say.
As you can see, my life has gotten pretty busy since winning the election, so I hope you won’t feel hurt if I don’t write as much. The good news is that even though my life is getting bigger, everything inside me seems to stretch to be able to fit it all. Don’t worry if you can’t figure out how exactly that works—I tried once, and because it’s sort of like a math problem, I gave up. But I promise you, it does work.
Anyway, maybe I’ll see you around the building some time.
