Danny looked up from the collar and into his Dom’s eyes. They were no longer shadowed. Now the golden-brown irises were clear, shining with love for him. “Hell, yes,” Danny enthusiastically gave his answer. He turned around so Jordan could put that beautiful collar on him.

Warm fingers brushed his throat as his Dom lifted the collar to his neck. A sense of peace and love and security washed over him when the collar clicked closed at his nape. Danny smiled, bowing his head, fingers toying with the little J. He turned back around to face his lover.

Jordan smiled too. He reached out to place his hand over Danny’s for a moment. Then he pulled him onto his lap and wrapped his arms around him.

  “You’re mine now.”

Danny tilted his head back to smile up at his lover. “I’ve always been yours. I love you. Jordan. Blaze. Both sides of you.”

“My sweet angel. I love you, too.”

  Epilogue

  One Year Later.

  D

anny was down in the lair, sitting at the workstation Jordan had built for him. He was working on a new piece of Dr. Z, a new favorite among St. Louis’s heroes, while Jordan geared up for the night across from him. He drummed the fingers of his left hand on the desk top as he looked over what he’d drawn so far, trying to think what would make the picture really pop.

The gold band on his ring finger caught the light. The sparkle made him smile and reach up to touch the leather band around his throat. He wore both the ring and the slim black collar proudly. Danny looked up at Jordan just as he pulled on his glove over the matching gold wedding band on his hand.

His life was amazing. The web comic he’d created had become so popular he had plans to have it printed and he took a self-defense class once a week from one of the members of ACG. Thankfully, he had yet to need any of those lessons. Although his life was no longer in weekly peril, with Jordan, it was still exciting and full of love.

Fully dressed in his Blaze gear, Jordan came over to him. He spun Danny’s chair around to face him, and leaned down with his hands braced on the arm rests.

  “I’ll be back late tonight.”

Danny looked up at his lover. The black leather mask covering half his face couldn’t disguise his handsomeness. “I’ll be in bed, possibly waiting. Maybe asleep. Either way, I’ll be here for you.”

Jordan smiled. “Give me a kiss for luck.”

“You don’t need luck, you’re a bad ass,” he teased. “My bad ass.” But he raised his face to kiss his husband anyway.

“I love you,” Jordan said against Danny’s lips.

“I love you, too.” Tablet in hand, Danny rose from his chair as Jordan stepped back and strode over to his car. Once he got in, Danny waved. Then he turned around and headed for the elevator, because he knew Jordan liked to check out his ass in the rearview mirror before he drove away. The Challenger roared to life, drowning out the sound of the elevator doors gliding open. As Danny took the elevator back upstairs to the apartment that had become their home, redesigned to accommodate both of their tastes and needs, he smiled at his reflection in the doors.

Claimed by his Dom and married to his favorite superhero. Danny couldn’t be happier.

  Author Note

This story was a treat to write! Although I’m only a few years into reading comics, I’ve always been a big fan of superheroes and their adventures. I’m a member of Generation X, so as a kid, some of my favorite cartoons to watch were X-MEN and Batman: The Animated Series. When the Marvel Cinematic Universe hit the screens, I was into it and really loved RDJ’s portrayal of Iron Man. But once Bucky and Steve’s story started to play out, I was truly hooked!

It took me several years after that before I had the idea to write my own superhero series — with a lot more love and smexy times — but once the idea took shape, I couldn’t shake it. Blaze was the first character I imagined. You may have noticed he’s a little influenced by Batman, one of my favorite heroes.

While the Caped Crusader has his fierce Catwoman to love, I wanted our dark and broody hero to have someone soft to love him and give him comfort. And thus, Danny was born. I had a lot of fun writing their adventures. Poor Danny had a rough time getting attacked every week, but lucky for him, his hero was there to save him each time.

I truly hope you enjoyed reading BLAZE! Thank you so much for your purchase, and I hope you’ll return for the next story in the Heartthrob Heroes series... DR. Z!

  Love,

  Christa
